Changelog for PACKAGES

Cool stuff. Always nice with a bit of change. Looking forward to more info once you have slept a little.

great work danne_jo, finally Puzzlerom with 2.1 was released.
however, as a newbie on Android phone, I wonder is there any point that make me flash 2.1 instead of 2.2 ?

thats right, cause 7.3.1 is based on wwe_1.28.xx and this one here on the newer wwe_1.37.xx

This is exactly what I need, thanks danne!

App2sd support?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

So it isn't froyo ? Isn't it?

No, the title says Eclair, so it's Eclair.

Great 2.1 rom
A short feetback:
+ LauncherPro (i removed it cuz i use ADW)
+ LWP support (LauncherPro+ADW)
+ Sense ROM
+ App2sdext support
- No patched Market
- No news+weather app (genie widget)
- old YouTube apk
I didnt checked tether, but its using the latest HCDR_Jacob kernel (no tether + if i remember correct w/ aufs (system r/w access)
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

Installing now. If this works as well as 7.3.1 but with the added extras then you are an absolute genius Danne_jo!!!.
Love your work!!!.

Just tried to install, got stuck in a boot loop...
Will try again from a complete wipe & factory reset.. I can always restore my user apps from titanium Backup
Anyone got a link to the latest youtube.apk ?
edit: did a nandroid restore, (prev 7.3.1) wiped cache from recovery, then re installed all worked fine..

Installed nice and easy for me after doing a Full wipe. I like the way live wallpapers work in Launcher Pro but wish it were possible to have htc clock with weather on Launcher pro. No wireless tether ans don't know what the transaprent proxy thing is for.
Track ball unlock seems to work when it feels like it.

I have the same prob with the track ball, it work fine if you turn the screen off and the recover, however if you let it turn the screen off itself sometimes it struggles to resume with the trackball.
This was an issue with the overclock kernal with 7.3.1. However you can use the power button to resume with this new rom. Although its annoying, but it aint a major problem.

Overclocked to 760Mhz ?

Installation Instructions:
1. If you are already running the Voodoo lag fix you MUST disable it before flashing this ROM. If you are running the old lag fix that uses ext2, you do not have to disable it, just flash this rom on top. You can also flash on top of the leaked froyo roms (JP3).
2. Place bionix of your choice onto the root of your internal sdcard.
3. Make a nandroid back up via rom manager or clockwork recovery!
4. You can flash this rom directly through rom manager or manually flash it via clockwork recovery. You DO NOT need to wipe, the update-script does this for you automatically.
5. Once flash is complete, select reboot device. First boot will be slower than usual, give it time.
6. Let your phone boot up completely. Once finished REBOOT your phone ONE TIME!
7. Let boot. FINISHED!
8. If you are using an OCed rom, please download setcpu from market and be SURE to set your minimum clock speed to 200mhz. Otherwise, you may experience random freezes/and or reboots.
9. RECONDITION YOUR BATTERY AFTER FLASHING THIS! INSTRUCTIONS BELOW! Reconditioning your battery will significantly improve your batteries life. However, once re-reconditioned, if you feel you battery life is still not up to par, DO NOT complain about it in the thread. Its not my rom. The battery life you will receive from my rom is about as good as it gets. This phone is a power hog, you need to accept that fact and move on.
Battery Reconditioning:
1. Charge phone completely, leave plugged into power
2. Boot into recovery
3. Wipe battery stats
4. Reboot
5. Remove power cable
6. Drain that sucker all the way
7. Recharge fully
8. Rejoice!"
Bionix FAQ:
1. I'm getting a FC, what do I do?
First, try a simple shutdown and reboot, if the problem still persists, THEN report it in the thread.
2. I'm running an OC kernel and my phone is randomly freezing/rebooting. What's wrong?
Make sure you have setcpu installed and your clocks are set @ 200/1200!
3. I'm not getting puzzle piece notifications, why?
As stated in the OP, we had to replace the TW mms with the stock AOSP 2.1 mms.apk temporarily. We are aware of the issue, but mms DOES work!
4. I flashed the voodoo kernel and it doesn't seem to be enabling, am I doing something wrong?
One of two things may be happening. One, make sure you do not already have the 'disable-voodoo' file in your voodoo folder located on your sdcard. Two, it has been determined that some Vibrants are not able to run voodoo. Try a non-voodoo rom located in the download section.
5. I have my clocks set at 200/1200 but I'm still getting freezes/reboots, why?
Unfortunately, some phones simply cannot handle the OC kernels. You can do one of two things. One, flash bionix 1.7 w/stock kernel. Two, run the OC kernel but set your clocks at 200/1000.
Suggestions:
1. SEARCH SEARCH SEARCH! Before posting a question, please use the 'search this thread' feature which is located at the top of EVERY page. You can simply enter a keyword and all posts regarding that keyword WILL show up. I do not want to hear complaints that there are too many pages to read. I haven't started a new thread because there are a lot of answered questions in this thread.
2. If you are experiencing an issue but find that you are the ONLY one experiencing this issue....well....I hate to say it, but you've probably done something wrong. Not me.
3. If you actually DO have a legitimate problem such as a FC, etc., please, post it. However, posting with a logcat is much more helpful so we can actually pinpoint the problem and fix it. Not all of your issues can be replicated, there for, a logcat is our only means to fix it.
4. If you simply do not like my rom because of the way it looks, or you hate the ring tones, the sounds, the lack of the square icons, etc., PLEASE do not post it! Feel free to find another rom or flash back to stock. Thanks!
5. If you have a request for future releases, please post them and I'll take all requests into consideration. However, DO NOT demand things! Demand will not and will never be taken into consideration.
6. Do not ask for and ETA. I work a full-time job like most of you. I do this for fun, but it is time consuming.
7. Before posting issues, try a simple reboot first. You'd be surprised how many issues this can fix.
How-to Disable the Voodoo Lagfix:
1. Once again, you MUST disable the Voodoo lag fix in order to flash any other rom, kernel, or perform a nandroid backup. If you don't...well....lets just say I warned you.
2. Its simple. Create a folder on the root of your sdcard called 'Voodoo'.
3. Now, open notepad or something similar and save the blank file. Name it 'disable-lagfix'. This file cannot have any file extension, so remove it if it does.
4. Place your blank file into the 'Voodoo' folder you made on your sdcard.
5. In order to disable, simply power down your phone and power it back up.
6. FINISHED! You can now flash anything you'd like!
How-to Confirm Voodoo Lagfix is Disabled:
1. In adb shell or terminal type 'mount'
2. If it is disabled is should read '/dev/block/mmcblk0p2'.
3. If it is not disabled, it will read '/dev/block/mmcblk0p4'.
Enable OCLF EXT2 LagFix: (optional)
Install EXT2 Lagfix via OCLF:
1. Open OCLF
2. Install EXT2 tools
3. Restore boot animation
4. Select OneClickLagFix V2.2
5. Your phone will reboot - DONE!

Yes, it is compatible, however, I wouldn't recommend flashing the current voodoo fix until Jac releases a more stable version. From what I've been reading, its coming soon. As soon as it does, I will upload this rom with the voodoo kernel included.
Downloading now. I'll give you guys my thoughts in a few...
Which baseband is this based upon?
...and it's a kernel damnit, not a kernal.

I'm going to assume (and im pretty confident in this answer) that it is based off the CURRENT baseband and not the leaked one from the other day. Why? Because the OP said that it has support for OCv4, Voodoo etc... the new leaked baseband contains new drivers and therefore it cant support OCv4, Voodoo, etc.
and +1 its Kernel not Kernal.
Sounds good, flashing in 10 mins.
Edit: Looks pretty good, nice and snappy without any lag fixes (never used them on stock fw anyway)
GPS locks in pretty fast, but again I never had any problems with that in stock.
I like all the additions and its nice that all the craps been removed, would've been nice if this was how I got it new.
It did look like it froze while flashing, it basically just stopped updating after "Formatting DATA", eventually some text flew past the screen and it dumped me back into clockwork recovery, rebooted and everything worked.
Start up and shut down sounds are cute.
Just did a reboot and it does startup a lot faster.
nice!
Am flashing right now, seems like a nice rom, im expecting it will support voodoo as well correct? Will report.

This man is correct.
The kernals have been corrected to kernel. haha.
Might I ask which calendar and dialer this uses? I ask becuase it looks like it's mostly TW but I see you modded both frameworks.
Soooo essentially this is what you've put together and like from other roms and mods n upgrades? Or can I download this and expect to see something new from your own editing of framework files and whatnot? Not talking crap in the least just looking for an honest response, will likely flash to just check it out anyhow, always interested to see what other people have as their preferred daily driver.
Booting up now...

Sounds great. I had the internal sd issues and have learned to cope with it =P.
Does this incorporate any of the fixes the leaked firmware seems to have addressed? ie: GPS?
Thank you in advance,

[ROM] 16/Nov r1 - MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Wildfire with Online Kitchen

I'm pleased to present my MoDaCo Custom ROM for the HTC Wildfire (this is the version based on the 1.37.405.1 release)! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo Custom ROMs
MoDaCo Custom ROMs are based on official ROMs - either shipping or leaked. A MCR release is designed to feel as far as possible like a stock ROM, with optimisations, tweaks and complimentary additions that enhance the user experience. The aim of a MCR is to be ultra reliable for use on an everyday device.
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
Features (these are the features for the currently posted prebake, please check the changelog for any pending changes that are in the kitchen)
Based on the 1.37.405.1 release
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0)
Optimised with the MCR build process
All components updated to the latest versions
ROM is de-odexed
Please note that this is the first release, many more changes will be added now via the kitchen and periodically updated prebakes (as per normal MCR builds!)
Changelog
Please see 2 posts below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM, however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.

Enjoy!

Changelog
16/Nov r1
Initial Release
This is the first release of the ROM - I will start dropping in the usual MCR features quickly going forward (via the kitchen first as usual, periodically building prebakes).
P
is there apps 2 sd?
You should add on option for my kernel in the kitchen
If I remove Sense and the HTC Lock screen can I use the default lockscreen AND use the alarm? (previously, from what I know, removing the HTC lockscreen rendered you unable to hit the snooze/cancel alarm buttons because they would not appear.)
I haven't tried the Kernel from HCDR.Jacob but it would be great if you could add an option for it. I think a lot of user would use it.
And maybe the option to replace the standard launcher by ADW Launcher or Launcherpro which are the most famous ones.
except this, it sound like a really good rom and I will try it the next days
If you remove the HTC lockscreen you end up with a bastardised standard lock screen that has the tabs and clock vertical instead of horizontal. Would be pro if there were some way around this. OpenFire and Cyanogen both have the stock lock screen without this bug.
Market seems not to show all the apps e.g. 2 results for ROM Manager instead of 10. The market fix on this board is only for froyo and buggars up the market if you try to install on MCR. Perhaps there is a way to make it work with 2.1
Other than this it was great to bake my own ROM to my own tastes and have it run nearly perfectly.

The only fix that I found was for HTC Hero, it would be cool if somebody would port it to Wildfire:http://geekfor.me/hero/fixes/vanilla-lockscreen/
Guys, download link seems to be broken (i cannot download it from modaco website too (i'm registered there)). Could someone put the file on a fileshare somewhere?
1 thing i dont like on this rom/froyo, on statusbar dont show 3g or 2g, its not modaco's fault, its googles or htc

Looks nice Frank, I will give it a try later. I've been trying to find the right kernel combo to avoid the sleeping/reboot issue. Haven't flashed A11, just A13 and A14. Both of those still have an issue with any combination. Its has to be rom combination issue since it happens with stock kernels too. But I love the BLN mod, so I'm going to keep trying to find a stable combo, Hopefully you are on to something.

I suffered from the same problems w/ multiple rom & kernel combinations. This rom should help clear up those reboot issues, but again every vibrant likes to play different. And through eugene373's a11 kernel you can always enable BLN mod via the new cw recovery. Let me know how it works out.
I'm going to give yours a try when I get back to class... no matter what rom I go to... Team Whiskey or Eugene.... I love them both more than the ODIN JK2 but the main issue to me is Battery... it's why I keep going back to stock because on these custom roms it just DRAINS. Hopefully this one will be better than the rest!
PS Love how it looks very nice with the widget and background....
Does the self shot in the camera work?

How's battery life compared to other roms?

Thank you Frank. This is my first 2.2 ROM, I hope it goes well!
Edit: Any way to get Swype in this rom? I've tried moving it into system/app with root explorer but it gives me constant fc's. I tried with the apk from the stock froyo as well as the beta from the latest obsidian rom.
Shame zshare doesn't work well with Dolphin HD. Would swithing to desktop mode work?

Will post an update script for you shortly. Away from the house. Any other feedback on the rom?
Edit: Just got home. Put together a quick update script for thoose who want swype. Enjoy.
Frank, everything seems to be going good. No sleep issues so far. Benchmarks with anything else out there. Thanks for the swype update also, I have to have my swype. Saved me some time from manually installing it.
Thank you for the Swype zip.
I noticed more battery drain overnight (40%) than I had with 2.1 JI6 (15%), but it was also the first night on 2.2 and I hear the battery tends to improve as you use froyo more and more. I also didn't get a chance to do any kind of power saving tweaks or setup Tasker, which I have do some power saving activities as well.
EDIT: I noticed after flashing the swype zip, on the first restart, the internal SD had some issue because apps installed on it could not be found in the app tray. I restarted and they still weren't there. I don't know if it's related to the swype zip, or if it that was just the first time I rebooted on this ROM.

UPDATED! [ROM] [22/12] [2.22.405.1] [FROYO] [Rooted + Apps2SD + OC @ 768 mHz etc...]

Basically a quick repack of the stock HTC ROM at the moment.
Blazing Yoghurt 1.0
*HCDR.Jacob's OC kernel 4.1 (properly installed)
*Radio 13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10
*Rooted along with ChainsDD's Superuser app
*Overclock running stable @ 768 mHz by default (from danne_jo's Wildpuzzle ROM)
*Memtweak and screenstate scaling scripts along with Sympnotic's tweaks (also from Wildpuzzle)
*Removed boot sound
*Darktremor's Apps2SD (apps on ext) (dalvik-cache NOT on SD card by default for performance reasons with some cards)
*Removed jita2sd script as installation of JIT on this ROM either doesn't work or prevents the phone from booting (anyone want to fix this?)
*Busybox and run-parts scripting support (/etc/init.d)
*Sympnotic's latest market patch 2.2.7 (for all available apps in the market, up to 480x800 px resolution)
*Latest Google components (apart from NetworkLocation.apk as this is modified for HTC Sense) and apps along with the Google news and weather app (GenieWidget.apk)
*Updated Google mapping framework
*Moved some apps to /data/app to save space when updated (and make them removable)
*Removed Adobe Reader and relavant library (because it caused problems that refused to be fixed, easily reinstalled without problems via the market)
*Removed HTC stocks app (and widget), who uses it?
*This ROM is ODEXED, for improved performance
*All .apk and .jar files are zipaligned for improved RAM usage
*Removed bloated voice search library, as it is replaced by a more space efficient version when the app is installed from the market
*Removed battery draining HTC test apps and other uneeded bloat
*Linpack tests show on average 3.1 - 3.2 MFLOPS of number crunching power when running HTC Sense on a clean system... Anyone want to back this up?
*Using AdFree Android will cause the phone to crash and reboot... So don't use it! Otherwise the ROM is perfectly stable! (Still flash at your own risk!)
*And I repeat NO JIT!
This ROM will WIPE your data partition, please wipe sd-ext and .android_secure if you encounter problems... And remember before trying any ROM do a NANDroid backup!

At the moment I believe this ROM runs stable on my Wildfire, however this may not be the case on every device... So please test and report back, stability is a priority. Also anyone willing to provide Linpack scores is very much welcome to!
This ROM was created with dsixda's Android kitchen, so if you want to hack this ROM yourself, there should be no issues using that kitchen
Many thanks to all the developers whose work I've used!
please provide mediafire link if possible
Can you make a test with linpack? Whats the result you get with this ROM?
To check the speed of the ROM
That's I'm waiting for.

I have not removed all of the HTC stock apps, just the app named "Stocks" and the relevant widget. If you want to restore this app just use this file http://www.megaupload.com/?d=I2WRQIM2

Linpack is showing around 3.1 - 3.2 MFLOPS of number crunching power, I don't know how good this is compared to other ROMs, but its a hell of a lot snappier that the stock HTC ROM

Link is back up... I think it was just a temporary problem with Megaupload... All is working now
Jit not enabled
Hi nobloat,
Below are the results with Linpack:
2.05 MFLOPS WITH HTC SENSE
3.127 MFLOPS WITH LAUNCHER PRO
and I think, CPU running @768 MHZ by default, since above result are same when I overclock using SetCUP (so above results are @768MHz).
This means that JIT is not enabled on this ROM, otherwise we will get MFLOPS around 5 (like for Cyanogen MOD ROM).
Please check it once again and enable JIT.
Thanks
