[Q] Live Screen from Nexus One to Computer - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All Experts,
I'm wondering if it is possible to stream the live screen on Nexus one to computer/laptop (Microsoft OS / Apple Mac / Linux). If yes, please point me to the right direction. Thank you.

you can use 91 PC Suite for Android but be warned it's a buggy little software, and its in Chinese!
To download just google: "91 PC suite android pandaapp", then click I'm feeling lucky
After you install the suite, go to the Media tab (the 4th one from left), the just click Full-screen ScreenSnap (left row, 4th icon with a monitor) and you're good to go
ps: to change the language to English, click the phone icon on top, navigate to 3rd line, then select English.

[Q] change default applications ...

Hi,
I'm just new to android, i left my iphone 4 for a all new SGS.
some points are missing on the sgs,
i use froyo JP3 and lag fix.
the contact manager is not efficient, because too big, you only see 6 people in the list (top icons are very big and there is the search field on top, taking all the place,
1 -Is there any way to use the N1 one ? which is much small.
2 -Is there any way to use the phone application of N1, ore the sense one ?
3- Also, on the iphone, it was very useful to dial directly from email, (just click on a phone number inside an email, and then the iphone call it, how to do that on android ? I tried K9, which sounds good, but there is not that feature).
4- I use kernel 2.6.32.9, is that the last one ? i have a wifi problem, the phone is crashing when trying to connect on wifi to a BEWAN AP54, (in WEP or WPA or without security) but connect perfectly to a linksys WAG54G. There is no other firmware for the bewan AP54.
5- for developping on android, is there a one click install IDE and SDK apps or do we have to install eclipse, the java then the sdk and configure by hand eclipse ?
Sorry for the noob questions, and by the way, you are doing a very good job !:!:!
Thanks in advance for your help.
I post here because I think are more development than simple apps.

[Q] PC Suite For Android Or What?

Hey guys,
What is the software to see our DHD's details (messages, contacts, files) and also incoming calls details on our Windows via bluetooth connection?
Is there any software that you have been using about that?
Gday mate.
I use 91 PC Suite. hxxp://android.pandaapp.com/
It does most things.
Cheers
Fitzy
Thanks for the reply, you mean this one? The one installed in Chinese, right?

Click the link How to Change PC Suite's Language from Chinese into English
Yeah I know how to do it English What I wanted to make sure that is this the only software for Android phones or everyone uses it?
If so, It's so odd a very popular software to get installed in Chinese as default and you should check out internet to learn how to do it English.

You mean this one I guess, so this is option 2 after PC Suite then. Does it show incoming call details If our device connected via bluetooth on the computer screen?
Did you try PC Suite as well, which is better in terms of functionality?
I tried PC Suite but on my Windows 7 I get a message that says "Application GUI create faild.." and the program does not start up.
Anyone used it on W7 ?
I tried PC Suite too, and its rubbish. Only part of the program translates to English, and it also has no uninstaller.
i second that
Suite sucks because it does not connect via bluetooth either.
Isn't there any software we can use via bluetooth like PC Suite for Nokia phones?
MyPhoneExplorer is currently the best one I've used. And it does not seem to have BT functionality.
Nokia PC Suite is far superior overall to anything I've come across for Android devices, so I understand what you're after overall.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Any progress on the PC suite front?

any tips?

1. how do you copy and paste between apps? how do you bring up the copy and paste feature on the 8.9 honeycomb os? i was using dolphin browser and the copy and paste feature doesn't work.
2. how do you switch between each apps quickly? i know you can bring up the quick app tab, but are there any other shortcut?
3. if your device freeze, how do you do a force reboot?
4. how do you install other languages like chinese on your 8.9 if you don't have those languages?
any other tips that you have or that i'm missing? please fill in. thx in advance.
1. Copying text is simple:
- when within the browser, hold your finger on the text you want to copy and after 1.5 secs or so, the text will be highlited with two markers on each side that you can drag independently to select more or less of the text. Then you can hit the Copy button that appears in the upper right corner of the screen.
- when in other apps, such as gmail, messaging or whatever, you pretty much do the same, hold your finger on the text, highlight, and choose your desired option from the upper right: Select all, Cut, Copy, Paste
2. Switching between apps works only by using the button that you have in the lower left. If you have an external bluetooth keyboard connected though, you can do Alt+Tab and it will bring up a WindowsXP-like selection windows to switch between apps.
3. Hold down the power button without releasing until the Tab goes to black screen. Then release and wait for it to boot again.
4. I do not know of a way to install languages separately. Check your Language and Input settings to see if Chinese is present as a system language. If not, then you can download a China firmware release from www.sammobile.com and manually flash it onto your Tab through the ODIN 1.85 program. Refer to the thread on the top of the General forum, labeled as TOOLKIT.
thx de3pkeeper.
also i haven't plugged in my 8.9 to my pc yet. i have xp pro. do i need to get a usb driver before plugging it into my pc? if so, any1 know the direct link to get the usb driver?
and i read somewhere the samsung galaxy tab has a infrared for remote control of your tv. i'm not sure which tab though, so does the 8.9 have it and where can i get the remote software?

It does not feature an IR module, sorry. You would better research this on google.
Download and install Samsung Kies, the official device management software:
http://www.samsung.com/en/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP
Select your language and country, download and install. Then run it and connect via USB.
N.B. You can very easily find the answers of these basic questions in your device's User Manual or Quick Start booklet. N.B.

Samsung Apps on other devices?

Samsung released a really cool app:
App Folder:
Link: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/s...48adb-1429-45ea-a507-f3d5f4cad58c?signin=true
Is there any way to get this on a NOKIA LUMIA windows phone 8? It's developer unlocked.
EDIT:
We don't need this App anymore. The feature is already backed into the OS in the latest Update.

Got it working on HTC 8x. Pretty handy app, but not as good as Android or iPhone folder system. (installed with Fiddler and custom rule replacing HTC with Samsung).
Ok thx. Can You upload The XAP? ?
You can download XAP directly by following the link you provided from the PC browser. On the bottom left side there is a link Download and install manually which will bring you to the XAP.
Ah.... yet another demonstration of what you can do with the high-privilege capabilities that WP8 supports. Note that list of installed apps? That's not (officially / publicly) possible. It would, however, allow doing things like writing an app that checks how much storage every app is using - a very handy feature that was homebrewed into WP7, and present out of the box on recent Android versions, but is missing on WP8 and Microsoft won't let us develop it ourselves.
You can try install with this tutorial: http://www.windowsmania.pl/poradnik...i-producenta-na-dowolnym-urzadzeniu-wp8-4496/
This is in Polish, but you can use google translator. Now I have on my Lumia 820 "App folder" app from the Samsung store.

From reading some other threads I figured out how to get my phone to connect using my PCs connection through Fiddler but the whole AutoResponder piece I'm still having issues with as the Polish translation is unclear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Small translating:
1. Download Fiddler2 for your netframework (2 or 4) http://fiddler2.com/get-fiddle and install on PC.
2. Run Fiddler2 and go to: Tools => Fiddler Options => Connections
3. In this window you have to select option: "Allow remote computers to connect" and "ok".
4. Go to cmd console (LogoWin+R) write "cmd" and comend: "ipconfig"
5. In cmd window you have to find IPv4 for WiFi connection eg. 192.168.0.101.
6. On your phone you have to edit your actual WiFi connetcion for server PROXY. In the place for server ip, you have to write above IPv4 adress and for port 8888. Next save changes but not close WiFi settings.
7. Plug in phone to the PC and open market store. Find any application and in left window from Fiddler2 you have to find link eg. marketplaceedgeservice.windowsphone bla, bla, bla - select him and in right window select tab "AutoResponder" and check two checkboxes:
"Enable automatic responses"
"Unmatched requests passthrought"
and click: "Add rule"
8. Now, in down you have two strips of address - in first you have adress and second is empty. In first, you have to change app ID for aplication to install (for AppFolder is: 1a248adb-1429-45ea-a507-f3d5f4cad58c) for other Samsung apps check this: http://www.windowsphone.com/pl-pl/store/oem/samsung-zone?oemid=samsung
9. Now, select and copy address and paste him to second strips but change EXACT to *redir.
10. Next you have to find in address name device (eg. NOKIA, SAMSUNG, etc.) and change him to name producer aplication (for AppFolder is Samsung) and click "Save" (right).
11. Next, use Bing search from the phone and scann QR code for app to instal. Don't touch INSTALL now !!!!!
12. From background run WiFi settings and off server proxy.
13. Now, go to market store with app from backgrund and install app.
I'm sorry for my English, but this process is difficult to translate.

Can you clarify steps 8, 9 and 10. Sorry, but I'm a little confused. Do I put just the App ID 1a248adb-1429-45ea-a507-f3d5f4cad58c in the first line and then put the actual web link for AppFolder in the second line but putting *redir in the front of the address?
Also, I do not see the name of device in the address. If do this from the US site the address is http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/app-folder/1a248adb-1429-45ea-a507-f3d5f4cad58c but it doesn't state the device name in the address for me to change it to SAMSUNG.

[Q] OneNote question!

Hi all
Does anyone here use OneNote on a win 8.1 tablet? I have a question...
I like to have 2 windows side by side and make notes ... writing with the pen.
eg a pdf or internet open left hand side, and note app on right
so i can make notes about what i'm reading
but also i need to copy paste selected text/images/cut outs (can do this on a samsung galaxy note no problem)
is it possible / easy on onenote?
oh! also - does onenote now have effective palm detection so i can lean on the screen without activating it?
thx for any help!!!
Windows (not OneNote in particular) should disable the touchscreen when it detects the stylus in proximity (usually this means within about half an inch). If it isn't doing so, check the control panel.
For copying from one program to another, I know what you're asking about works perfectly on the desktop version of OneNote. I don't know for sure about the "Modern" version, because seriously, who uses that crap?
