[MOD] Remove Clock and Date from Statusbar/Notification Clock and Remove Date - Fascinate Themes and Apps

FOR DEODEX'ED SYSTEMS ONLY
I'm new to this, Fascinate being my first Smart phone, and was just tinkering around to get it how I like it and would like to share to those who would be interested.
The clock is removed from the statusbar and the date no longer appears while your notifications are down. If you're Deodex'ed simply place it in your /system/framework/ overwriting the existing services.jar and reboot. Once again this is only for Deodex'ed Systems.
I'm not responsible for any harm you may do to your phone, enjoy.

UPDATE: I've gotten the drop down date widget when you bring down the notifications to stay hidden. You can still find a CW flashable version of my old one posted by Killarny below, but if you don't want your notification icons on the left side of your statusbar to get covered up/or have your slightly transparent status bar look ugly when you pull down notifications, the flash the newest version I posted below "completely_no_date_no_clock". Enjoy.
-----------------------------------------------------
Another statusbar mod I've got for you. This one hides the clock and replaces the date from the notification drop bar with the time. So in an app and wondering what time it is? Just touch the statusbar to have it pop up. Attached is a clockwork flashable zip to update your services.jar. Enjoy.
EDIT: To people who may later stumble upon this, this does NOT work with DJ05, if you flash it you will not get expected results and perhaps have some problems.

You should ask Frost if he can .zip this for you so it's flashable through cwm

I've included your services.jar in a clockworkmod update zip. I hope you don't mind me posting it on your thread

Thanks guys! This works great so far.
It's especially useful for those running transparent notification pulldowns as the date no longer clashes with notification icons.

No problem at all and thanks, your upload is noted in OP.

Actually, it kinda still does. The drop down still appears over your left side notification icons, just no date text is in the drop down. When I figure out how to completely stop that drop down menu I'll update my services.jar and share.
Updated OP to include another statusbar mod.

Updated OP with a new version to completely hide the Date drop down.

The update is great.. The first notification icon disappearing was odd, glad to see it fixed. I haven't tried the click drop down yet, but that looks good too.

[ROM][Dark Themed open eclair 1.2.1]

Hey all, I created a dark themed version of open eclair 1.2.1 baconweave.
This is a full rom so you will need to do a full wipe before flashing.
I created this by pulling some icons from Xrom and editing the classes.dex file.
I did not build this rom so thanks to the open eclair team for an excellent 2.1 rom and I would also like to thank Justanothercrowd for the icons i pulled from his rom.
As this is my first shot at themeing I only changed the framework-res.apk and services.jar. So, this is not a full theme.
If you are already running open eclair 1.2.1 an easy way to apply my changes would be to extract the framework-res.apk and services.jar from my zip and adb push them to the appropriate locations on your mobile.
I will most likely not be updating this as it suits my needs.
I made a couple other changes to this rom.
-removed gallery3d.apk
-fixed bluetooth issue when pairing both handsfree and media audio.
As always I am not responsible for anything that happens to your device....

EDIT: it's pretty cool. Love the Notification bar and the downloading down arrow. pretty sweet man. one question;
How did you change the notification bar? I know how to change the png's but not the whole thing to make it look black =(

The only real editing I did was to change the text color to white. The rest was simply replacing the existing PNG's with the ones I pulled from justanothercrowd's Xrom dark ROM.
An easy way to see what PNG's are what is to extract them from the framework-res.apk and view them as thumbnails. I can't remember what other files I edited. When I get home I can retrace my steps and give more info later.
yeah I mean I can do that too. But most of the time when I try to make all the png's on the notification bar black, they just pop up as black squares on a white surface =/
EDIT: I think I found out how. the name of the png that changes the notification bar color is activity_title_bar.9.png right?

Ahh I see what you are saying the color of the notification background when you pull the notification bar down. Yes I believe that is the correct PNG.
EDIT: If you are trying to edit what I think you are the correct PNG would be these PNG's

wrong info he gave you. the tabs he showed you and that you are looking for are known as status_bar_item_background_normal.9, status_bar_item_background_focused.9, and status_bar_item_background_pressed.9.
the activity_title_bar.9, which he thought was the correct png, is actually where it reads the words "Ongoing" and "Notifications" which is the activity_title_bar.9
anyway, hope that helps clarify things for you guys .
Oh ok thanks man almost got everything confused lol
Beautiful,man.
I came from SuperD-dark, and this is a perfect transition
Since you've tweaked it to meet your needs, I'll take it upon myself to do some other graphical tweaks (like smoothing out the notifications graphics. Too "sharp" for my taste).

Fantastic Job devs! Any chance on being able to edit the clock color and the notification font color aswell? other than that very usable thank you.
we will be working on that! but too busy this weekend!
update ^ up there
Bug: In EvilEris 1.1, this overrides the skinned bottom bar and replaces it with the normal Sense bottom bar.
Works great on Sense-able 2.0. Once the white clock can be fixed it'll be perfect!
It also replaced my rom's custom Sense bar, but the blue didn't really go with it anyway. (plus I use n1launcher)
edit: I tried poking around in the apks for the clock but wouldn't even know where to begin finding something that isn't an image. And none of the file names stood out.
cant wait till you release a clock-removal-only patch laxattack! *hint*! i want a cleaner notif bar i know you said it was just a fluke, but that would be awesome if you released one haha
Lax any ideas on the clock font color?
Also I'm wanting to change the bottom Sense bar's color to match the white theme but not sure which version of the images I need to edit. I see two sets of what look like the default bottom bar in "com.htc.resources/res/drawable-port-mdpi" and "drawable-land-mdpi". I'll probably just replace both sets and try it, but not even entirely sure if this is how you guys are modifying things as I haven't done this before.
Does not work on grdlock (non-vanilla). Sits on skateboards.

Good goin man
Bug report: the pop-up letters on the keyboard don't show. They are the same white as the pop-up background. Dtachd says it probably and xml edit somewhere, or you could change the pop-up background color
Where does one acquire that background? I love it.
You are the man!
Thanks brother.
If you wanted to add an accurate battery mod to this, I just did the images for it in Photoshop the other day. They have the exact AOSP style, so no number in the image, but it's accurate down to the pixel (so there's a change every 3 or 4 percent). You can use it if you want.
Note: Not a flashable zip, just a regular zip with images in them.
A numbered battery % would be great

Thanks for this. Awesome.
Nice theme Is there anyway to get rid of the new GPS icon that comes with DJ05? Only thing that looks out of place in the theme, and it's annoying to have an extra icon in the notification bar that is useless.
The only bug I've noticed so far is this -- the inactive upload/download 1x status icon is still from TouchWiz. The active 1x icon, however, is AOSP (not pictured).:

i did find a way to remove it but it will need a invisible image. you won't see it in the status bar but its still there. Falcyn thanks for posting that, i will look for the problem and fix it. Accurate battery mod wont be comming to this theme because i want to keep the aosp look. unless i find images with the battery numbers in it then i will put it. Also thanks to ludeboy, we have a new pull down that looks very cyanogenmod look i havn't also found out a way to change the keyboard pop up color so please bare with me on that fix. Thank you guys for the support and im glad your liking the theme
some of the media scanner stuff in the notif bar is also touchwiz... otherwise beautiful

Btw, awesomest theme ever.
I found another TouchWiz element. I could only find it in ROM Manager though. If you're selecting a check box in the popup, its blue rather than the grey or yellow other places. Not sure if it can be fixed or not as this was the only place I've seen it so far. See the attached image.

Something else I noticed was that I could not do voice search by long pressing the search soft key. I just installed sonofskywalker's rom and out worked all the way to loading this theme.

[Theme] Power Control Widget *added* Glass Theme

Here's a couple themes for the our stock power widget.
This was made for Continuum v4. Im sure this will work on any other captivate rom with slight icon changes depending on how
heavily modified a theme is on the rom. Changes like Like the settings launcher icon and some home menu buttons. nothing that i
could realy notice.
Flash through recovery.
Will be adding more in the future.

Could you make a glass with white light for CRYSIS/Continuum?
You can download the correct Settings.apk from the 4/10/2011 update from HERE.
I believe the update was so all the settings options were there (no clock, AM/PM, and wifi scan rate).
Thanks,

Great, possible to add battery percent?
edit: works great, but it would be a lot nicer if the "slide down" was completely black instead of the text "notifications" just my opinion, anyway great theme!

An update late tonight, some graphic bugs fixed
Was this meant to work with the stock ROM?, just that it kinda works fine with stock ROM except you can't see the glass pull up effect on the lock screen, and when it is locked the top bar is showing the wallpaper, though like [email protected] I wish it was black while in Market place and such
Is it possible after the installation of this theme to go back to the default stock theme without losing my data. Like performing a nandroid backup with clockworkmod??
can I install it on stock rooted o2x?
Doesn't work so good on mine, running MoDaCo 'vanilla' ROM
Is it possible to add battery percentage?
wen i install its gonner bootloop all day long and fix or help ??
Thank you, this theme looks very nice!
Woah nice one there! I was getting sick and tired of the original status icons ><
Hmmm the lockscreen no longer has the blue glow below? 0.o

is that for any custom rom?
doesnt matter?
I don't know if it will be helpful to someone but I change a very small part of these fabulous theme to solve the problem underline by [email protected] (#2 post). The status bar is now totally black and opaque.
see before1.jpg & before2.jpg (capture by [email protected])

I have tested with a modaco FR17 Fear 10 rom, so I suppose it will work with a modaco FR17, maybe other.
