Belt Clip/Holster available for the Streak? - Streak 5 Accessories

I'm on the verge of buying one of these beauties. This will be my primary phone and I would like/need a way to carry it on my person. Are there any clips or holsters available yet?

The Otterbox Defender case comes with a belt clip I believe.

I use easecase, it takes a while because they're made to order but the price and quality is top notch.

There are a few nice ones on ebay easecase and such but if you add a gell case to it your best bet is to make one for now. Just head to your local leather store and go for it my first attempt turned out alright but now that I have the diminsions down I should be able to make a proper one.

Just received my Otterbox Defender for this thing. One word -- Awesome!

2nd vote, defender
Got one also...had it a week, no problems. Didn't bother with the screen protector.
I keep the streak with the glass in, and after all, the screen is GLASS.
I've dropped it from waist height twice, no damage.

Nothing beats Otterbox, I have various ebay ones and all the streak Otterbox ones, disregarding cost, its no competition

Try this.
This is the belt clip for the ULTIMATEADDONS.

Add them together and you have a belt clip.
Kinda pricey tho but its looks slim and sleek.

Do you have a link to one? I cannot find anything on their website nor find any Streak ones on Ebay..

Have you used this ULTIMATEADDONS case and any of their adapters? It looks vary attractive, I'm tempted to get their system and I thought that maybe some one can share their experience with the brand?
I'm the type of Streak user that hates all the bulky Otter-type rubbers and protectors.
I also want to wear my Streak on my belt like I have all my devices in the past.

I bought one of these and they are well made. They will make them to your custom dimensions, so if you use a TPU case or Oterbox case on your phone you can still get a case to fit. At the time I ordered mine they did not have a Streak (or a dummy phone) to use for a template so they would not put an opening for the headphone connection in the case. I modified mine after I received it. I got the D3 style.

I've got one coming from easecase with the headphone and charging port cut-outs. As Marvin stated, they do not have a streak or dummy phone to get measurements, so I did some photo mock-ups and sent it to them. Mine will be built for a streak in a Commuter case. Obviously, I assume all the risks on the placement of the cutouts I indicated on the mock-ups.

At the time it was the only case I could find that would fit the Streak with a case on it. easecase made it to specifications that I supplied, so you can have it made exactly how you want.
Yes - it cost too much, but of the very limited choices it was the best I could find.
There used to be a leather shop (the kind that sells hobby stuff) nearby. If you know of one try going in and asking if they know any people doing custom work. At the one that was near my house there were usually a couple of people working on projects right a a table in the store and they would do stuff like a wallet for reasonable prices. If that place was still open I would have gone there first.

Well spotted (if not photographed ), hoping the Defender becomes available outside the U.S. soon.
ummm, it fills my lappy lol
I just picked one up and it works great. I don't think the buttons are hard to press at all...
My only complaint right now is that the cutout on the back that allows the Dell logo to shine though isn't lined up right at all. It's kind of annoying...
I'm going to write Otterbox about it. I'll post pics later if I remember...
Is it thicker then the Impact case?
Edit: pic links should be fixed...
For everyone's viewing pleasure I have (had) the impact case, decided to go for the commuter mainly for the fact that it looked easier to pull out of my pocket and I liked the style more. Seems to be the same thickness, also seems to fit a bit more snug which I really like. Only thing I may not like is the plug at the bottom for the charge port, would like it to fit a bit more snug. Other than that, LOVE it.
In case your curious, photos taken with my lady's evo (not that impressed with th quality IMO...)

Yeah, how did you get the logo to line up.

I bought one of the cheap jelly cases on eBay for 6.97. It actually is slimmer then otterbox but still offers protection. I prefer it over my amzer jellycase and otterbox impact case.
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Well when I look close, the logo is low to the left, but not cut off anywhere. I wonder if the sticker on the back varies between streaks - its not a imprint or impression, literally just a sticker. But i do wonder if its the case or the logo. Seemed alright on the impact as well. Doesn't seem like there's a whole lot of play with the case, so I don't think there's a 'trick' to getting it lined up? I took the case off, then put it back on... logo still sits low and to the left of the circle like before.
I think you're right that it's a sticker, but I think the battery cover is indented a bit where the sticker goes so it would be hard to line it up wrong on the battery cover.
I could deal with the small amount yours is off, but mine is way off.
Here is how mine sits, I'm going to email Otterbox about this and see what they say...
That would irritate me
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
Yeah, yours is way off... I'd be disappointed as well with that. Another reason it's probably the sticker - the commuter has 2 separate layers. You wouldn't think both layers would be off by that much...

I just bought my phone from Best Buy a couple days ago, maybe Dell did something different with the battery cover with the Best Buy phones?

I doubt that... Changing the position of the sticker would mean changing the factory build process... I doubt Dell would do something silly like that since the cost involved.
have a few questions, how easy is to get the cover and the back door on/off to replace the battery? is the otterbox really tight or is it easy to remove? and why would you pick one against the other? and how do both perform when playing "draw" (cowboy style) with your phone, can you in a hurry effitiently take out your streak from your trouser/pants pockets to answer a call ON TIME? How many rings before you have the streak up to your ear?
sorry i have so many questions

- The impact is easier to get on/off, since it's just one layer. The commuter does fit tighter, but I wouldn't consider it "difficult" to remove and get access to your batter.
- Why one or the other? For me, the commuter looks and feels of higher quality, fits more snug, seems to have good corner protection. The answer to all your questions contribute to why one or the other.
- Taking it out of your pocket - main reason for me to get the commuter. Its easier to get in/out of your pockets with the hard shell. But i like that you still have some grip with the silicone on the sides and front. Can't comment on how many rings, but i'd say its close to as if it didn't have any case at all.
- I will say the impact is much better in terms of grip. I'm never worried holding this one handed in landscape when i had the impact. The commuter makes me a bit more cautious, but isn't like it's slippery either. The impact seemed like it was glued to the leather seats in the car - commuter, not as much but better than stock
Thanks !! very helpful.
Have any of you got the invisibleshield full body protector on? Am wondering if it will fit with the commuter case, thanks.
Also anyone in the UK able to buy the commuter case as that's where I am located.

Cover that covers part of the front

Does anybody know of a decent hard or soft plastic cover for the Defy that would cover a little of the front (my current one only covers the sides) so that if it lies face down on a table, the screen would not touch the table (there is some protusion in my current one so this may in reality not happen very easily but a better solution would be appreciated for sure)?

That looks very similar to the one I have. I was looking for one where the case would come a few millimeters over the front, not just protude from the side... Due to silly no outside links for new users, I sadly cannot provide an example..

personally, i use a case because in certain situations i want the phone to be more visible in case i put it down (i use my phone for navigation whilst out geocaching) and for that reason i only have the bright orange case on the phone whilst indulging in outdoor pursuits.
regardless of costs i like the increased reliability - if i drop the phone and it breaks i would be without a phone for x amount of time. the case can prevent that happening.

The case I have is the amzer tpu. It looks just like higgsy's. It has a lip on the front that would prevent the screen from contacting a flat surface, but just barely.
Picked up the same case as Higgsy if I'm not mistaken. Happy with the purchase.. I bought the set that came with a screen protector which was an utter pain to put on. After about half an hour I gave up and settled for that one bubble by the side - at least it wasn't on the screen
My one gripe is that the case covers the volume rocker so it can be tough to press it without digging your nail in.
Not sure why people keep claiming this phone is rugged. More than that the Droids and iPhone maybe, but nowhere near 810F mil spec (see Motorola i1 for that).
As far a a case...I'm a big fan of the Otterbox Commuter case, as it is a soft gel case which then fits into a harder outer shell.
Very sleek and lifts the front up as OP requested.
Only issue I have with it is that it does not have a belt clip. Nite Ize solved that problem fairly well though.
Looks good but 35USD before shipping is excessive for a case, IMHO
Agreed, they are very proud of their product.
One note, for those interested...T-Mobile also sells the Otterbox. They are in T-Mobile boxes, and not advertised as such, but the case itself still has the Otterbox branding on the back of the case.
I say this, as they occasionally go on sale through T-Mobile & T-Mobile stores and because you can often find them on E-Bay for quite a bit less.
Ever tried the case from otterbox.com? Looks nice and stable.

Amzer Neoprene Sleeve

Hey everyone!
I know there have been other threads about cheap neoprene sleeves, and pouches, but I have found an interesting neoprene sleeve.
It is made by Amzer, and has a very unique feature that I have not seen in any other neoprene sleeves.
Here are some pictures:

Notice on the right that there is actually an extra layer INSIDE the pouch.
It sells for $19.95 USD, plus shipping costs depending on your region.
Here is a video on the sleeve:
EDIT: Thanks to Sqaures, here is a short review of the sleeve:
For those who are interested in ordering, you can check it out on their official site HERE
It is also available on Amazon. LINK: Canada, US, or UK
EDIT: Thanks to KryptosXLayer2, people who live in the US can get it HERE for a much cheaper price.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to get my hands on one of these for my Nexus 7 , but hopefully will be able to get one soon :good:.
Just wanted to share my findings , also if anyone has found a similar and cheaper product please share! I have been looking desperately haha.
hi!
Thanks very much! I think i've settled on wanting pouch now after nearly every case is leather style!!
You are very welcome , glad I could help! What type of leather cases have you tried so far?
I've not bought any but i've seen a couple and i just find the leather look dated! plus some of the designs add too much bulk imo!
I was hoping for more of an iPad smart cover look but i suspect Asus and Google didn't fancy a law suit!
Yea, I have done my fair share of searching. I just want something to protect my tablet on the go, a pouch is great for that. No zippers, metal/rough edges, just neoprene .
Just ordered it. should get it next week!
Look forward to the review, the dimensions look tight!

I've got a Cruzerlite case on mine and wondered how easy it would be to insert / remove from a neoprene case - anyone have any experience with a case? I like this one, but saw some really cheapy ones similar to it on eBay for A DOLLAR, SHIPPED:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Neoprene-Sl...t=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item4169968faa
What makes this worth $20 compared to the dollar neoprene case? I'm not being harsh, there were people on the Cruzerlite thread saying the same thing about $5 TPU cases and the Cruzerlite not being worth $20, but I liked the Android Clone Army on it, okay, so there.... Just want to know why I should go with this before I spend the money, I like the second pouch on the inside, but if you're not planning on bringing cables with you, is it worth it?
EDIT - also found this one on eBay for $17.57 shipped currently:

Great find on eBay for people who live in the US, I'll update the original post.
As for the reason that this sleeve is different from other cheap ones, as mentioned in the first post: The sleeve has an extra layer on the inside to store accessories.
Cables, headphones, OTG cables, memory cards, etc...
I would definitely buy other cheaper ones if there were any out there. But it is the only one I found with such a feature. Just thought I'd share .

Just too tight to get pocket flap back over N7.
I worried either screen would crack or sleeve would tear - it was that tight.

It is definitely NOT that tight.... I have a TPU style case on mine and it isn't nearly tight enough for me to be worried about cracking screens or tearing the neoprene case - no need to worry, you aren't buying from some cheapy manufacturer, if something tore on it, I'm certain Amzer would replace it
Mine definitely WAS that tight - tired pulling it different ways, setting device in front of or back of seams, etc - tried pulling on angle cuts, pushing in depth first, etc - mine was TOO tight after many tries, sent back.

Fits well but covers the headphone jack.
I emailed the company and they are working on a Nexus case.

I heard back from Vaja that they are planning to make a N7 case, but no timeline.
Also would also recommend Noreve cases made in France.

Also can be found on Amazon

Seems one of the drawbacks - which your Noreve case doesn't have - of all these stand-up folio style cases are that the lower portion where the case folds & clips onto the corners of the Nexus seems to clasp very tightly.
Thus making it difficult to stand the N7 up quickly or easily because push the clasp down & extracting the N7 to stand it up is difficult.
I never feel the need to "stand it up", so I don't mind. Whatever fits your needs, I suppose.
http://www.kevikev.com/Yoobao-Executive-Leather-Smart-Cover-Case-for-Google-Nexus-7-LCGOGN7.htm
For example I would hate something like this, for two reasons :
1. The border around the frame is just downright ugly. Not only that, but it also takes up too much of the screen.
2. The thing on the back which allows it to stand up is ugly too. Even when you put it flat down on the tablet it'll be wobbly because of it.

Just finished my quick review for The Gadgeteer, it'll be up in a couple of days but as a sneak peak it's fine. I can hold the case upside down and the Nexus doesn't fall out That being said I normally carry or store it on it's side anyway.
I'm looking for a sleeve that will fit with the tpu case. Any ideas?

The Saddleback one will, because it's leather and will stretch to fit whatever you put in it. It will be tight initially but will eventually mold itself nicely.
My final review of the Saddleback Medium Gadget Pouch is here. Any questions ask away.

They don't ship to germany !
Yeah, I've been looking too as they don't ship to Canada. Haven't found one yet and they didn't respond to my email.
Just got my mitts on the case to kill off all other cases. May review it soon
What case is that ?

Proud new owner, need recommendation for case

Purchased a nexus 7 32GB for $175 plus tax ....now need to get a case and a good screen protector. I see some brands
Moko,Bluerex seem to be around $15 while poetic is $9.99. Any recommendations? Reading the reviews I see people complaining about the magnet issue and also i dont know if these cases support 360 degrees or work only in landscape mode?
Hi, I would advise you to take a look here.
My personal recommondation would be a Noreve case. Expensive, but the best in my opinion.
Poetic case from amazon is the best for a smart case. You won't be upset if you get one.

Seen a few.
Get the poetic slimline case. Trust me.
Best bang for your buck.
Saw some guy who dropped his N7 with a poetic slimline and his screen cracked...
Don't drop your things just because they're in a case.
But seriously, it offers complete protection on all sides from scratches and mild bumps, not from concrete...
It functions as a stand, automatically turns your screen on and off, and isn't too expensive.

I have the Portenzo book cover case. Little to no protection on the sides but will protect it in daily use.
I've pretty much had them all. The Poetic was my last case. I recommend them to. Offers a little more protection but cheaply made.... it will fall apart after a few weeks. They have a 3yr warranty and have replaced mine with no questions. Not sure if they still offer that.
I've also owned the Blurex and the TPU cases. All are nice cases but it depends on what you want. I wanted front and back protection with a minimal addition to thickness (Portenzo). If you want something like a smart cover then the Poetic. Basic back protection would be a cheap TPU like a CruizerLite. Coupled with a good screen protector like a Spigen SGP might suffice. The Blurex offered the most protection but was the thickest.

The Blurex was thicker than the Portenzo case?

Poetic Slimline
I have to concur that the poetic slimline case is pretty awesome.
I too am a new Nexus 7 owner, though I didn't get such an amazing price as you. This is actually my first smart device... first touch device in fact (not counting my ipod touch 2nd gen which came free with a family members computer). Android really kicks ass, and the Nexus 7 is a pretty amazing device.
360 rotation case
I thought I would suggest this case to you or anyone new looking for a case. I was looking for a rotatable case that would still provide the desired level of protection. I didn't like how some of the cases required you to remove the bottom corners to fold or, only held the tablet in with a couple of elastic bands. I don't know that it has an official name, I got it on eBay for about $20. It was from the UK so it took a little longer for shipping than it normally would have but well worth it. It came packaged with a stylus and a few screen protectors (But, I always get a zagg for the screen). The features included a sleep/wake cover and an industrious button that attaches the actual device's case and the cover it rotates on instead of a metal ring resting on the back of your tablet as you rotate. I decided on the white one and the stitching looks great. A really good case, and I have had my nexus 7 for almost 7 months now taking it back and forth to college.
Send me a PM if you want the link I'm a new poster otherwise I would post the link in the thread.
Seriously, just get a Noreve case. A bit expensive yes, but you get what you pay for. Offers fantastic protection, smart cover function works beautifully, and it's hand made genuine leather with a ton of colour options. Here's my review for it if you're interested.
thanks to all suggestions, i ended up getting bluerex case as that comes with a screen protector from amazon. Also got the eForCity Micro USB OTG to USB 2.0 Adapter Compatible with Google Nexus 7. However this cable is pretty tight and i fear it might damage the micro usb port (already see some scratches). This cable btw only recognizes a flash drive but not a portable hard drive. Wondering if i should return it.
I have a Portenzo bookcase. Pricey, but I highly recommend it. I don't have another case for comparison, seems much better than the typical case I see on other people's tablets.
^^ seconded. I also have a portenzo. I went with the bookcase for full side/corner protection and aesthetics. love it.
I also have two handmade sleeves from etsy.com for when I want to go "naked."

Here's another one:
Just bought this for less than $15 shipped:
http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=77471
Strange that no one mentions original ASUS case, which is really excellent quality and practical, beautiful and comes in several different colors! I bought one (not the cheapest here in Czech) and am completely satisfied.
The ASUS case is pretty terrible in my opinion. No sleep/wake function, and the top doesn't latch down securely. Way too expensive for what it has to offer. Much better choices out there for the same price or even cheaper.
