Look on the forum for JM1 (which is an official firmware, or ones corresponding to your region e.g., JG4 for Asia Pacific) and flash with Odin, the use Kies to update to the latest in your region.

[Q] Singtel original ROM

Dear all friends,
Now i am using SGS with the Baseband version I9000XXJP2, froyo. I bought this phone from singtel, and original was 2.1.
Anybody have original singtel update.zip? I want to restore back to original.
It's available on Samfirmware
latest official Singtel firmware is DXJG4... but there are some corrupted DXJG4 firmware out there. If you can't flash it, try download DXJF4 from samfirmware, then upgrade to DXJG4 using KIES.
If KIES says your device cannot be upgraded. You may need to change your product code back to the original Singtel XSO.
Check the forum on how to change product code... about editing the nv_data.bin file...
Good luck.

[q] galaxy s newest optus firmware?

Hey all these firmware codes are so confusing and whatever but can someone tell me what the newest official Optus firmware aswell as the best modem and CSC for reception I can't update via Kies for some unknown reason even though i installed a supposably official optus ROM :S help is appreciated
Update to what through Kies .2.3.3 is only released 15.4.11 and yet to roll out across all areas .
The rom you installed how is it an official optus rom was it branded optus or did you just update to a stock Samsung rom via Odin .
Kies only produces an update for branded network provided phones if it finds the correct product codes not from stock rom .

[Q] Downgrade from 2.3.3 to Official 2.2.1

Hello there, my phone is an European factory unlocked, unrooted that i have upgraded to I9000XXJVK some weeks ago.
I'd like to know if it's possible to downgrade back to an official 2.2.1 so i can start again updating from Kies. I'd also like to know which Android ROM is official because there seems to be plenty of them.
All Android roms are official use the latest one for your phone .
All Android roms are stock Samsung roms not the branded rom that came with your phone .So no upgrade from Kies as Kies only reads branded phones id .

#How to use the search button and read the post downgrading 2.2 to 2.2
Kies upgrade fom 2.2 will require spoofing fw .

What do you mean with branded? I bought my phone from Samsung and not from an Operator
In which case downgrade current firmware to one below the latest one for your phone on Kies . Then try Kies if it fails its due to your Product Code changing with the JVK flash . You may need to use spoof fw to change product code .

Branded as in Kies upgrades network branded phones by a matching product code if you have changed firmware via Odin codes may be incorrect .

Hi there
I actually did this today (as I want to await the official release on Kies).
Best bet is to use Odin to get to JPU: http://hotfile.com/dl/99955459/dea6962/I9000XXJPU.rar.html (this is a 3 file ROM - I used repartition).
Then use Odin to get to JPY (the latest official UK release): http://hotfile.com/dl/100618077/49a97b4/I9000XXJPY.rar.html (this is a single file - no repartition).
This got me back to 2.2.1 so I can continue to use Kies for future releases. You might also want to check your CSC is correct using *#272*YourIMEI#
Hope this helps.
James
In order to get back to 2.2.1 you have to Spoof a old 2.2.1 or a 2.1 firmware. To get Europe 2.2.1 you can spoof

[Q] How to downgrade to a previous Firmware (Galaxy Note)?

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note N7000. I upgraded it from the stock 2.3.6 Gingerbread ROM to the latest German 4.0.3 ICS using Odin.
Now my issue is as follows...
1. When I connect my phone via kies, it says "Your Device does not support upgrading via Kies". Does this mean that when Samsung decides to upgrade the Note with an Indian Firmware, I would not be able to move to that version?
2. If the answer to the question above is that I cant get the Indian Version, I would like to Revert my Phone back to the Older version (2.3.6 Gingerbread).
3. If I revert to the older version, will my Phone OTA itself to the Indian Version when its on offer?
Thanks for the expected support in advance.
1. Correct. You definitely would not be able to push an Indian update to your phone through Kies while you are on the current firmware. You would need to use other options such as Odin.
2. ...
3. Yes. After you move back to a GB ROM, you will get OTA notification if and when an OTA update is available (or you can always manually check in Settings>About Phone>Software Update if any update is available OTA). You can then proceed to the update. This would be region specific based on which region's stock firmware you revert to. If you want to receive an Indian ROM OTA, you would need to go back to an Indian Stock ROM.
Thanks a ton rxpaul
