Wildfire Overclock - Wildfire Android Development

Hi all
I 've wildfire with root access .I tried to flash it with all custom ROMS's, only CyanogenMod run after reststart but wasn't stable, others couldn' t even start after reboot. Loaded kernels ,without OC dosn't help. I only need try OC .Can it be done without reflashing whole ROM ??

Ok done with Jacob Kernel
So far stable on 652MHz .Visible speed difference in google maps

I use the stock HTC Wildfire ROM overclocked @768Mhz and sometimes it just get fkd up when i write messages ... Im gonna change phone asap

My HTC switches off casualy on 768Mhz i think this is too high for any Wildfire

Mine seems stable now at max 652mhz and min 245mhz ... i get like 3.8 mflops and I think thats nice?

Mine works fine on cyanogenmod with oc 768 mhz

i have a question do you have to flash a custom ROM to OC your wildfire?
or can you just have the ROM you got when you bought your phone root the phone and then flash OC kernel?

Kernel from this topic:
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471
Stock ROM-my Wildfire is completly "resistant" to any custom ROM(do not boot ,crash, screen freezes etc)

Yes i've orginal ROM only OC kernel flashed
Kernel here :
forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471

How to..
Hi, how do I overclock? I mean, what app do I have to use? I also find a picture showing the temperature in the status bar - maybe it is also possible to show the speed as well.
M.

buy SetCpu from android market

Mines can do 748mhz ,but if i set 768mhz,it can't boot and become a "soft brick"(use clockwork mod recovery to recover it)
I use cyanogen mod 7 #17

I found 691 to be most stable for every ROM i tried so far. SetCpu can be found free somewhere in the XDA forum.

Thanks...

This ROM has integrated OC Daemon to control the screen state scaling. Therefore you do not need setcpu by default. However, it is a choice for you to choose to either install it or not because installing it would disable the daemon but you get to control the governors yourself and also clock it according to your preference at ease.
Do everyone know which kernel the best for OC

rcmix 3.0 is my personal fave at the moment.
Awesome battery life, can oc to 1.9ghz as well and is smooth as butter
Can you use the rcmix 3.0 kernel on a aosp rom like cm? I thought sense kernels didnt go so well with aosp roms..id
go with the tiamat kernel for aosp roms like cm.

If you are using CM7 you can flash the Glitch kernel. But I am warning you, it won't be stable. 1.4 is the usual upper limit, and even then a lot of games won't run properly.

Right now you will need to install a Kernel that allows for OC on top of your current custom ROM. OC Kernels are marked with "OC" so that you can find them easily.

Will look into this
Sent from my XT875 using xda app-developers app
This kernel is no longer being developed, so it does not incorporate any recent changes from the Cm builds.

Blurry 2.5 has a oc kernel built in with it. 1.2gig. Has CPU sleeper an custom governers with it.. Only bad thing is its on 4.1.2 not 4.2.2. In my opinion I'd rather be on 4.2.2 then gain 200mhz

[Q] desire c over clocking

i need the best app for desire c over clocking. I have already rooted my phone. Is it safe to over clock CPU as some one on web has xplained that over clocking snapdragon 600 may damage the device,. any one with over clocked cpu i need the best app for desire c over clocking. I have already rooted my phone. Is it safe to over clock CPU as some one on web has xplained that over clocking snapdragon 600 may damage the device,. any one with over clocked cpu please let me know what frequency is he using. thnak u.
You cannot overclock just by using an app, you have to flash a custom recovery.
Go to this thread ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192750
Make sure you download the correct kernel. If you are on Stock rom, download sense kernel. Installation process is given there.
Once that is done, install an app called 'SetCPU' or 'NoFrillsCPU'. It will help you to adjust the cpu speed.

Different devices run different clocks. If your phone cant handle it it will simply bootloop indicating you should use a lower frequency.
The only way you can damage your device when flashing kernels it is if you spill a bottle of water on it lol

and also let me know if flashing kernel will reset the phone. mean restoring to orignal state.
thanks.
overclocking isn't something you can just do. you flash a kernel with a higher clock speed, the stock kernel can't be overclocked in any way. do your homework next time mate
Oops.. My bad. I said custom recovery instead of kernel sorry..
No, flashing a kernel will not wipe any data. It can have a whole lotta benefits over your stock phone..
From the link I gave you earlier, look for sense kernel, latest version and download it. I think it's version 7..
This is the easiest way to flash a new kernel.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2187482
Read that thread carefully.. It's pretty simple.
Once you have flashed the kernel(.img file) get the setcpu app or no frills Cpu app.
..
