ring tones/SMS tones.... i want the louder! - HD7 General

I find the ringtones and SMS tones are both very quiet!!
More so with the SMS toned as they are all little stupid plinky plonky Microsoft noises. Not good!!
Then you get games such as rocket riot which has very loud sounds!!!
hOpefully something will be done in the future!

Yeah.same here.i always dont notice when i receive sms.ring tone is not loud enough

Absolutely. Also the alarm ring doesn´t get me out of bed.
Ring has to be much louder !

simple text message tone question

when your getting a call you can press the scroll button and the sound will stop...is there anyway to do this for when you get a text message? thanks in advance
Hi,
I posted a similar question a few months ago relating to this on my XDA IIi, Orbit & Vario as I like to have lengthy MP3's as my incoming text ringtones but sadly nobody gave me an answer...
I did get round it by installing PhoneAlarm & when a text comes through you can either press the incoming text icon which will make the tone stop & take you to the text message or press the mute icon which will obviously make the tone stop...
Cheers

Yeh, I thought a lot of peeps use MP3's for text tones and would get a few answers but neve mind also forgot to say that I downloaded the New Carbon skin to get this to work for PhoneAlarm, there are a few other skins but this was the one I liked...

why are you using a full song if you won't want to play it. How about chopping the head off the song and using it?
Probably the same reason I do - when I'm at home, I leave the phone wherever. Can't hear a short message tone from across the house!

Would be more convenient to take ur phone with u. I leave the phone around me, not neccessarily in my pocket but on a table or a bed or a sofa near by.
Lack of true in-built profile control is one of the remaining, glaring issues of WinMob.
That's why the first thing I install on every new phone - and the first thing after any hard reset is phoneAlarm.

Hi,
I am not using a full MP3 as a tone, I pick my fav MP3 tracks then cut out about 30-40 seconds of the part I want to use as my tone, then If I am in the house but not near my phone I can hear when a call or text arrives, but if I am out with my phone on me I can then cut the incoming tone as I mentioned with PhoneAlarm, I am happy with this set up, the standard tones that come with the phone usually only last for about 3-5 seconds...

No second call noticification sound

What is the matter
I hear a faint beeping when I get an incoming call and I'm already on the phone... Its pretty faint, so you might miss it if you're talking to someone else.

I just hear nothing
I tested it
First of all what ROM are you running ????????????????????????
From my own experiences ,there two things that contribute to this . Most devs to save space remove all but one ringtone of their choice .I got my call waiting working again by adding the (1)F1_ ringtones from a stock rom in the notification folder . They are only seen by the system through the (2)TMUS.cvs files or a xml file not sure which one. They are called upon when for eg: when in a call and the system needs to notify you that you have another
But i added the two and get my beeps when am in a call and another one comes in

what's your current ringtone?

Right now i'm using Whats Love by Fat Joe ft Ashanti.
My text tone is from Metal Gear Solid, when you're noticed.
And my phone ringer is the dying phone ringer from the movie Crank.
Dyslexic Speedreaders' "My ****" and the default ringtone for texts.
Chipmunk - Who Are You?
Wacky Races
Mission impossible >> But metal cover by Pantera....
scar symmetry-noumenon and phenomenon
Yakoo Boyz-So Good
New Order - Blue Monday (mix)
When I have an SMS, there's a robot voice say : "Your smartphone has received a new text message. Would you like to read it now?"
When I have a call, the ringtone is the theme music of Prison Break series

[Q] Custom Ringtones

I read sometime back about the inability of WP7 to change the ringtone to a custom music but it totally slipped my mind.
I just want to make sure if that is still true... I couldn't find the option in the phone or anything online..
Is there anyway to change the ringtone to a custom one?
Thanks in advance.
No, at the moment there are no custom ringtones.
There is some indication that ringtones may become available in the Marketplace so I'm not sure when / if we will see our own music used as a ringtone.
I'm surprised by the concern people show about this -- it must be just me who just lives with whatever comes as standard!

After years of training yourself for that custom ringtone, which you can pinpoint in the middle of a Iron Maiden concert, its hard for some to adapt to a "ring ring ring".

ring tones are continuous

hi
is possible to have the standard ringtone not continuous because when i select the standard ring (1,2,3,4)is without pause.
my rom android is:Mdeejay FroYo Sense Matted v.1.4 [Kernel: MDJ S6.1] on hd2
thanks
anyone know this problem?
I'm struggling to understand what you mean here mate?
when phone ringing(with standard ring 1 or 2 or 3 or 4 ) the sound is continuous.
it's possible change this!
Hi!
I have the same problem... anyone knows of a solution?
Ok, to be more specific...
When you select one of the standard ringtones 1, 2, 3 or 4... normally it should ring like this: riiiing, pause, riiiing, pause, riiing, pause... etc.
Right now mine is ringing like this: riiiing riiiiing riiiing riiiing ... its really annoying sometimes
Thanks in advance!
I am also getting this.. the pause bet rings is not long enough. I m not sure if this an HTC sense or andoid fix but I managed to fix it via a workaround by editing the ringtone itself. mine is an mp3 ringtone so I downloaded a freebie software for editing mp3 and added blank or silent sound at the end just to serve as a pause.
hi
yep... sounds like a great idea, i didnt think of that, thank you very much!
Lucky i`m only using one ringtone... i`ll check to see if the standard one is .mp3
normal ring ring tone
Hi
excuse my poor english
try this its very simple and it will work the way you want
all you have to do about the ringtone is to edit it with audacity application by adding a silence space after or before the selected ringtone with the length of tow seconds then save it to you desktop then coonect your device by usb cable and send the new ringtone to your device inside a folder you created earlier in sd card named ringtone choose the new rintone from sound settings as a default ringtone
good luck
