I was using a program on my WiMo device before called Swype I believe it is available for android
edit: ignore that...i'm wrong!

I've purchased SlideIt for my Blackstone, but, sadly, ins't faster than Swype, it's a good program but not so good as Swype.
... still looking for a swype version of our Desire HD

Keyboards for sense?

Are there any 3rd party keyboards that work on liberated froyo. I really liked the droid x one for cm6. Besides swype. I don't like any of the market ones

Have you tried Smart Keyboard? SwiftKey, SlideIt, 8pen, Better Keyboard all suck. Get Smart Keyboard, skin it nice, and it's the best keyboard, imo. They have exact look-a-like Gingerbread skins, iPhone skins, and a few other cool ones.
I am using stock gingerbread keyboard on my Liberated ROM and it's pretty useful. Tried better keyboard, smart keyboard, swype etc.
i always thought the htc keyboard was the best normal keyboard. my favorite not-normal keyboard is swype.
I really like the one that comes on the Galaxy S phones (not Swype, which is ok for just english). I think it was just called Samsung IME, but was really useful as an English keyboard, and switched to Korean super quick.
I guess if you want a good keyboard that does both you have to get one made by Samsung, but that's just for my needs.

Ya should try the gingerbread kb that's on the market. Closest to the sense kb, and maybe better, it's been forever since I had sense installed.

Tried the attached HTC keyboard above and it just kept FC'ing. I love that keyboard but it doesn't work in my Gingerbread rom. Too bad you need Sense to use it...unless someone knows how to change that

you don't need sense. I'm running the FroYo version 27 on Typhoons cm7 rom.

Multitouch doesn't work properly anyway. Try pressing one letter, keep it pressed while pressing the next letter and then release the first one and after that the second one. you will see that you wrote just one letter in most cases.
we need a new driver/kernel whatever for our touchscreens. and concerning multitouch in general ( hoping desperately that someone with skills reads it), when you are on the same "line" with your thumbs, i.e. shooter games, it occasionally flips your coordinates (x,y).

Swype is not to be distributed through out XDA. You may still be able to sign up through their beta at their website.
Register to beta.swype.com and there U can get an .apk

Distribution of any Swype installer files is not allowed on xda.
Swype beta IS open again so just sign up and register, you will get link to swype and installer. For a while it was closed but it has been open again for a long time.
What about the new sense 3.0 swype? Would be great if someone could extract it for us, is it warez?
I honestly dont think it shold be.... Ive had the mytouch 4g and the Samsung vibrant and when we download a custom rom it has swype in it, so why shouldnt the HD2 rooms have them?? im assuming devices with preloaded swype keyboards get to have swype in custom roms but the HD2 comes preloaded with swype aswell, sure its not android and its on windows but thats one of the flaws we get when we flash android to our devices and I miss swype, its acually the only thing i like on windows over android
Devs are allowed to install warez as part of their ROM. But no one is allowed to post installer files for Swype as this will be considered warez. If you want it, sign up for the beta.
just wish i could the new swype themed and work, but i got to be missing something as i can install it but fc's when going to use it,,,
I found an apk in the market called SlideIT, it's and do an awesome job for me in my GBX. i know how hard it isto go backto no-swype so I highly recommend it. Good luck.

Another one you can try which I think is as good, if not better than, Swype is do a search on XDA and find Ultra Keyboard. Very similar to Swype and SlideIt.

actually there's an issue with the gingerbread keyboard.. if you type too fast.. double letters will appear.. it's a bug.. that's why i've uninstalled it..
I use MultiLing Gingerbread Keyboard, it's free, many option, theme, and more importend i like this keyboard !!!
So far, so good, i don't have any problem, regular up date.

I prefer the stock keyboard. works very well
me
i too used the market version by s.lin and even if i randomly type at silly speed its working just fine, its the best keyboard i ever used on the tab.
love it !
I don't really see what the fascination with the GB keyboard is.
IMO the best keyboard for our Tab is Thumb Keyboard as its designed for the tablet in mind.

Because its simple. Don't get me wrong, Thumb Keyboard is great, but its a bit too chunky for me.

[REQUEST] HTC Trace

Anyone know about getting this ported over with the new GB and 3.0 hybrid ROM's going around?
I can't answer your question but lookout mobile security is a good alternative while we wait

Thanks for the response, but HTC Trace is not a security program. It is the stock keyboard for the HTC Sensation. It is the HTC keyboard but with "swype" capabilties.. Pretty much it is like having swype on the stock HTC kb..
Try Flex T9 (V1.0.0). It has T9, trace, voice-to-text and even handwriting recognition.
Versions above 1.0 haven't worked right for me though.
Yeah using the Flex right now. Works great. Also have several verisons of Swype. I was just curious with the GB and 3.0 hybris going on if somone was able to find the HTC Trace to see if it would work with the TB. Pretty much I am a flash addict with keyboards and ROM's and was curious how HTC Trace matched up to Swype and Flex. Right now Flex is my favorite.

based off of what I read, the trace .apk from the sensation dump was Flex T9 from the market
that is what i read as well jsut a skinned flex t9

Yeah, it was buggier than the market version as well but that's why it was taken down from the thread that had .apks from the sensation dump.. because it's a paid app
Well if it is Flex then that would explain the similarity in the appearance. Thanks to all of you for the replies. Anyone know if the sensation system dump was out there yet? Sorry at work and didn't have time to search through the forum right now?
EDIT: NVM just saw the last response ..
