[ACS] Custom Transition Animations! With VIDEO :: UPDATED WITH METAMORPH ::: - Epic 4G Themes

It may or may not have been clear enough I did in no way shape or form create these animations. I blended someone elses work to my liking. this is the part responsible for the animations you see noted in this video
Taken from here. I spent several hours today along with Idkwhothatis123 (from xda here ) blending fold, fly-in and bounce to get it how we liked it I'll make an flashable zip for people upon request because everyones framework will be different with themes/roms etc.
this is a link to a zipped anim folder you can replace by
This is no longer necessary unless you would rather use adb. there is a metamorph file attatched download that and put on the root of your sd and download metamorph from the market its free
Code:
adb shell
# mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
#exit
adb pull /system/framework/framework-res.apk
Then open up the res.apk with your choice archive manager. Replace the /framework-res.apk/res/anim folder with the one I've provided.
Reboot into recovery and
Code:
adb shell
#mount -o rw,remount -t yaffs2 /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
#exit
adb push yoursdk/tools/framework-res.apk /system/framework/
I hope this makes sense and you guys like it

I will have to make individual flashable zips for each and every theme/rom's framework. I am posting this here. If people like it enough request that your themer/rom created add it to their framework.
If you guys post what theme/rom you are using I'll whip it up for you

On acs rom with the acs percentage mod theme I am excited about this. I have always thought the stock ones were boring.

Awesome, thanks a lot for this it is really neat!

So, would one just open the file through metamorph, unzip the file, apply the file, and reboot to obtain the animations. Those animations are fantastic!

Choose the unzipped folder. There will be a xml file in there.. I had the same problem.

Can u pls make a update zip for the emotionless beast 3.0 and the [ROM][ACS] SyndicateROM 1.0.1a (Sai) :: Speed, Battery, Style :: UPDATED 11/7/2010...i tried the metamorph way just got alot of force closes

alfiej... what do you mean?
I moved zip to sd. choose with metamorph, I see the xml in there but metamorph errors saying that file wasn't created correctly.

OP,
Installed via metamorph and then rebooted. Upon reboot was met with FC loop. I tried clearing all the cache but that didn't help. Any ideas...It did work though because the FC error boxes were moving quite awesomely.

I'm adding the animations to my theme right now. I should have something in an hour as I got a couple minor things to fix also.
If you haven't already checked out my theme its the only theme that is 100% customized. I an the only one that added the power options, no battery full pop ups, moved tw clock down for the music player. As I member of ACS I want the best and I will be the best. I will add any new mod such as this to my theme.

You don't have to have GB, it just checks your sense version. I'm *attempting* to port it, although I'm not overly talented, so it may be a slow process. I'll let you know if/when it happens.

Baiscally, this is dead in the water until we can get the Sense 2.1 framework. I can get it to load and mostly work, but unfortunately, it breaks WAAAAAYYYY too much other stuff to even be feasible. Once there is a working Gingerbread Sense Kernel, it shouldn't take much though.
So, patience is the word.
The one from the EVO works on the newest leak. Get it HERE.
Edit: Apparently deleting and/or renaming the existing one in root explorer will allow it to be installed.
erishasnobattery said:

I wasn't able to just install it though. Had to mount system r/w and adb push it.
Stick it in a directory and do the following. I recommend you nandroid first, as I'm not responsible for you dorking up your phone.
Code:
adb shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
adb shell cp /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/HtcLockScreen.bak
cd <Your Directory>
adb push HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/
adb reboot
If you decide it sucks, which I kinda think so, you can change it back with this:
Code:
adb shell mount -o rw,remount /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
adb shell rm /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk
adb shell cp /system/app/HtcLockScreen.apk /system/app/HtcLockScreen.bak

[Boot Animation] ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

Since I just learned how to make these today, I figured the first thing I'd do is the hypnotoad from Futurama. It's simple, but it's fun!
Use a file explorer that allows for read/write permissions in the system, and drop this file into the system/media folder.
tried loading it threw CWM and i get installation aborted... any tips?

Make sure whatever file explorer your using has root privileges so it can mount the system as writable or else it will do nothing and you'll just have the android logo.
File expert w/ root. And mounted media as read/write the bootanimation.zips all copied over but even flashing a know working bootanimation in cwm (used it before and it worked) won't fix android logo seems 2 be new default

What? If you follow the instructions provided in the OP you should have no issues. If you can tell me what steps you took trying to install this I may be able to help.
I installed this on my zoom but it looks hella pixelated when I looked at it. OP, are you using a custom Kernel or a stock kernel? Does that even matter in this case?
I am using tiamat kernel however, I don't think that should be an issue. Image is clear on my xoom. Maybe redownload? I don't know why that would be happening.
Anyone else having grainy/pixelated images?

so god damn cool good job, you know the animation when they present the title of every transformers, if you could do that with the word xoom and the end of the original gearz bootanimation it might very well be the most sickest thing I've ever laid eyes upon
=-O excellent job. Majority of the animation is slick and smooth. My one small critque would be the word xoom at the end. To me it just seems out of place with the rest of it. Maybe a more futuristic looking font with a darker color to it to match with the gears and blades spinning about. Or like MitchTruck suggested and animate it someway. Otherwise supurb job.

[THEMES] WidgetLocker Themes

Just wanted to share all these with you guys. I'm not gonna be able to upload any screenshots because there are just too many.
Zip file contains:
144 WidgetLocker Themes
DISCLAIMER:
I did NOT make any of these themes and take no credit for them! These are simply themes that I have collected over time from around here on XDA and from other various websites.
*NOTE*
If you want to make your own theme, just edit the images in one of the zip files. Rezip and copy/paste to the folder mentioned above. It's really that easy lol.
If you don't know how to install these:
Download and extract the zip file.
Copy and paste all zip files onto your INTERNAL sdcard and make sure you put them in this folder:
Code:
/data/com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker/themes
Once you do that, reboot and now you will have 144 WidgetLocker Themes available. Obviously though you have to have the WidgetLocker App for this to work. Which can be found here for only $2.99
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker
DOWNLOAD:
WidgetLocker Themes
I will add more to the zip file as I get more collected.
Excellent Hicks!
There was a themes folder inside of the folder you posted. Do I just put all the zip files in that one or do I need to unzip and put the actual folders in that themes folder that is there?

Jelly Bean stuff

Since LG won't release ICS, why not skip ahead a bit and start adding Jelly Bean stuff to GB. Attached are some of the things you can use right away. You must have root.
If you don't follow these instructions properly, it's not my fault if you screw something up. Best to make a nandroid backup before you proceed, mmkay?
Boot animation:
Copy to /system/media, permissions 0644. Might look a little weird since it's 640x640, but you can't have everything on the first day JB's released
Play Store:
Install, done. Or, copy to /system/app, permissions 0644.
It's for US, so not all of the changes will be here. Most notably, you can't buy movies out of US yet (the option will not be there).
Fonts:
Extract the fonts, copy to /system/fonts, permissions 0644, rename to DroidSans.ttf (rename the original to DroidSans.ttf.bak or something) or symlink it to DroidSans.ttf. Do the same for the bold and italic fonts.
Added both Roboto and RobotoCondensed, as well as some more. You can only use Roboto or RobotoCondensed at any one time, you can't have your cake and eat it too
Wallpapers:
Extract them, paste them somewhere, open in gallery, set as wallpaper.
Now, doublecheck your permissions. Failure to set permissions correctly may result in bootloops.
After all that, reboot to enjoy.
PS. All of the zips are not flashable zips, don't even try flashing them.
