Any MetaMorph themes/skins to make Swype black exactly like in 2.1? - Android Themes

I'm looking for a .zip I could download and run through MetaMorph that would revert the gray Swype keyboard that came with 2.2 back to the black skin that was on 2.2. I just tried one but the white was bold and made the keys look ugly. It was also a bit off and worst or all, didn't have any text on the arrow/copy/paste keys. Is there just a "2.1, Droid X Swype MM theme".

im interesting to please!!

I don't have a system wide theme for ya, but once you guys do get an AllBlack theme port from Vibrant, or black gloss, etc,
I have tons of keyboards Metamorphs, with Swype trail colors and such. I haven't had the time to update all my threads in all the SGS forums, but the link in my signature has all the most current stuff. So far, I only have one MM that works for Fascinate's Swype, and a revert to stock, as well as the trail lines (flashable zips). I will soon update all my glass versions to include speech input (epic4g, fascinate, vibrant JI2) as well as the HTC skins (will be adding more colors for that soon), and once I get a few keyboards set up, I will also release accent color packs (the highlight color when you touch the keys, the word choice window color, as well as the "Delete Word Back" popup that shows when you hold down the backspace key.
I'm not exactly making a system theme, but I sure hope this helps with your girl problems
I plan on putting together a minimalistic black theme, once we get custom recovery and all that going, for now I will just rip apart the framework, etc, seeing as Sammy was kind enough to rename a lot of the images, and add a few new ones.

That would be fantastic. I wonder if the swype themes done for any of the other variants could be pushed in? I don't imagine the differences in swype on here would be that different from the Vibrant.

a cyan theme for CM6 RC1?

I want a theme that's black/cyan for my aria. It's running RC1 [from the RC1 thread], and I've already changed all the text colors to a cyan that matches the original cyano mod power strip/bar. but there are plenty other colors floating around (lockscreen, incoming call, battery icon, etc).
I'm a noob at fiddling around with actual the actual files (apks, jars), and I'm scared of installing a theme that's not meant for this rom (will it even boot? i got stuck in boot loop when i tried a cm6 theme >.<). I like a clean look like the glass themes (can't post links.. urg) but in cyan (and able to run on this rom/phone). Metamorph won't run on this phone. Is there a way to flash a MM theme without it (guess not?)?
..is there a black/cyan theme floating around that'll work for the aria rc1?
Im not sure if its exactly what you're looking for but if you search "CyanogenMod ADW Theme" in the market place there is a theme that sounds like what you're looking for. And its meant to work with ADW which is the launcher that comes preinstalled with CM6.
lol I remember seeing that one, but it looks like someone puked cyan all over the screen >_<
Also, I'm looking for more of a simple rom theme, and not so much actually changing icons/buttons.
In fact, if anyone can teach me how to change colors (lock screen, battery icon--so it's cyan and not green, incoming/ongoing call screen, other notification bar icons--alarm/wifi/mobile network/signal strength/etc, menu/setting font colors, icon highlight color, etc) manually, I'd be just as happy to go through the labor myself (..i think). A point to a tutorial would help too
EDIT: nevermind. I found some tutorials and stuff in the theme forums. I'll just read up there and figure it out.

[REQ] Working Gingerbread keyboard with a matted blues theme

I have the matted blues theme over top of BAMF 1.5 and it is flawless in every way, well, except the ugly orange gingerbread keyboard that clashes on my phone. I am looking for someone to theme a GB keyboard (or tell me how to) that will work with the new CWM (when I try to install the ones from the EVO, I get an error).
Thanks for all your help friends.

only works up to Swype version 3.25 - not compatible with the new version 3.26 and up.
While the new Swype may look similar it is entirely different. Instead of images of the entire keyboard there is only a single stretchable patch .9 png of every kind of key (normal, dark, etc). Since it is stretchable it can fit all keys of the same kind/color. That means there is no more need for keyboards in different languages since all fonts are added on the fly. All fonts on the keys are not part of the images anymore. They are all fonts read out of the different language files. There is currently no way to change those fonts. I could change the background images for the keys since I know how to decompile/modify/compile .9 png's but without being able to change the font and font color it would look atrocious.
Unless someone figures out how to change those fonts and font colors (which I suppose is unlikely) or Swype adds theme support I suppose 3.25 is the end of the line for Cyanoswype and Honeyswype. And 3.25 will stop working after some time, just like all beta Swype versions unless someone finds a way to prevent that from happening.
First off I must ask everyone to please not send me PM's requesting a complete swype.apk - this is considered warez on xda so I will not provide this in .apk form - not in this thread and not via PM. Sorry!
After the Cyanogen Mod team finally released their fine CM7 mod for the sensation I was reminded of how much I loved the keyboard design of the CM7 rom / cyanbread theme. I used to love it on my HD2 but kind of forgot about it since changing to the sensation and sense.
I think the default swype theme looks just awful with CM7. It kind of ruins the CM7 feeling for me every time that keyboard pops up.. so I decided to start a big project - redesigning swype to look like the CM7 keyboard - to have the comfort and swiftness of swype while maintaining the simplicity, elegance and stylishness of CM7.
This turned out to be a rather big project since swype has a pretty different layout from the CM7 keyboard. It has many keys that the CM7 keyboard does not have. Furthermore all keyboards are stored as png's of the entire keyboard in all possible states. That is normal, shifted, caps lock, symbol, symbol shifted, numeric. Then all those keyboards have to be designed twice because there is a portrait and a landscape version. And then I had to do ALL of them twice because I designed the QWERTZ and the QWERTY keyboards since I use QWERTZ for German and QWERTY for English swyping. All this stacks up to 30 individual keyboards that I designed in photoshop with over 20 hours of work. I copied the base of some keys from screenshots of the CM7 keyboard that I made. Others I made from scratch since they don't exist in the CM7 keyboard. I found the original CM7 font that was used to make the CM7 keyboard so I used that to perfectly match the style of the CM7 keyboard. That was also used to add all secondary functions to all keys etc.
Unfortunately, there is no very simple way of themeing swype since Swype itself doesn't support themes and providing a complete Swype.apk is not allowed on xda as that is considered warez. Here is a short HOW-TO for themeing the swype you have installed.
REQUIREMENTS:
phone with qHD or (WVGA)HDPI resolution
phone must be perm-rooted with installed superuser
file manager that can access system - for example root explorer (paid app but worth it), ES File Manager (free)
swype beta account and installed swype. You can register for free on beta.swype.com, follow the instructions there
only swype up to 3.25 is supported! newest version 3.26 not supported!
winrar or another program that supports storing archives without compression (or metamorph)
metamorph if you want to use it
ZipSigner 2 from google market (free)
a brain. Do not attempt without said brain.
INSTALLATION:
install regular swype as mentioned in requirements
use your file manager to go to data/app and copy com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk to the root of your /sdcard/
Now you have two options. You can either modify the swype apk on your computer or modify it on your phone using an app called metamorph. Download the regular version of the theme if you want to modify the apk on your computer. Download the metamorph if you want to modify the apk on your phone using metamorph.
If you want to modify the apk on your computer:
transfer the file to your computer
download the regular theme package from here
extract the archive with winrar
open com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk with winrar
go to the subfolder assets/keyboards
open the Cyanoswype folder you extracted from the theme package, select all files within the folder and drag them into the winrar window
those with English Swype should do the same with the files in the "English-only" folder
a window with archive parameters will pop up. You MUST select "Store" as Compression method on bottom left and click ok
transfer the modified com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk onto your phone's sdcard
If you want to modify the apk on your phone using metamorph:
Download the metamorph version of the theme you want to use and put it on your sdcard
Open metamorph and select "Unzip/Extract New Theme"
Select the theme you downloaded on your sdcard
A preview of the theme will be displayed. Select "Apply All" to apply the theme to your swype apk.
Now do this after you modified the apk on your PC or using metamorph:
open ZipSigner 2
tap "Input..." and navigate to the root of your sdcard, find com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk and select it
it will automatically choose com.swype.android.inputmethod-1-signed.apk as name of the signed file and will store it in the same folder
tap "Sign The File" (changing the Key/mode is not necessary, auto-testkey is fine)
you may want to back up your swype installation using Titanium Backup or the like
uninstall swype in settings/applications/manage applications
make sure "unknown sources" is checked in settings/applications
install the signed .apk ( com.swype.android.inputmethod-1-signed.apk ), be careful not to install the unsigned .apk
enable swype in settings/language & keyboard
you may want to restore the data of your previous Swype installation using Titanium Backup to restore your personal dictionary
DONE & ENJOY
It looks like a long list of instructions but it is really quite simple. And you have the benefit of learning how to modify apk's !
NOTES:
redesigned: QWERTZ and QWERTY keyboards, numeric keyboard, editing keyboard
NOT redesigned: azerty keyboard, trace color, word suggestion color. Nobody seems to know how to change those colors so both will remain blue, sorry!
this is qHD and HDPI. Other resolutions will not be added. That is until the Nexus Prime is realeased and Swype releases a new version for that resolution.
this was designed with the most recent beta of Swype. It should work with any
3.x version. I don't recall any changes to the key layout since 3.0
yes, the cm7 version is the same as cyan but with the cm7 caps lock indicator
only works up to Swype version 3.25 - not compatible with the new version 3.26 and up.
While the new Swype may look similar it is entirely different. Instead of images of the entire keyboard there is only a single stretchable patch .9 png of every kind of key (normal, dark, etc). Two versions of the editing keyboard are included. One that works with all languages and one that is English-only.
The editing keyboard is shown when Swyping from the Swype key to the sym key.
After finishing the editing keyboards I noticed that those keys with text look not so good without the drop shadow that all of my keys have. Unfortunately the text depends on the language of Swype and it is only stored as text. That is why I decided to make an English-only version as well. I took screenshots of the keys with the text and used my Photoshop-fu to create shadows for the text.
The first two screenshots below are without shadows, the second two are with shadows.
So if your Swype is English then simply copy over the keyboard designs in the English-only folder to get the nice shadows
No shadows:

UPDATE
18.10.2011
Introducing Honeyswype!
currently only in one color though. Recently switched to the Honeybread theme after using the Cyanbread theme for a long time. Took this as opportunity to make a Honeycomb-styled swype.
19.10.2011
Added metamorphs by request. Untested since I don't use metamorph myself!
Very Cool!! I WANT!!! I have stock swype that I have imported to my G2X from stock rom. Can I modify this with the same effect as modifying the com.swype.android.inputmethod-1.apk? I also have a swype beta account but would rather not have to deal with the swype installer.
I suppose they would not name the keyboard files differently in the stock version so it should totally work. Just look into your Swype apk and look for the keyboard files in the assets folder.

HDPI*
I might do an HDPI version tonight, but I'm not releasing it without the OP's consent.
Okay, that was an epic fail, won't be trying that unless I get my hands on some templates.
No consent from me, this is my work and if there will be a hdpi version it will be from me. It is not as easy as resizing stuff, that would look like crap anyway but the keys would also be in the wrong places and it wouldn't work. Going to have to redo everything from the ground up. Different key sizes different placements. 10+ hours of work, redesigning the keys, realigning etc. and it is like 30 different keyboards

IDK if I'm doing this wrong or I'm just a supernoob but I tried about 4 different file explorers, under data, there is no "app" subfolder. The folder is empty. Root and SD.

same here. its empty
Dark keys looks awesome! I just noticed, is the keyboard supposed to have a gap at the bottom? the keyboard seems to fit but I don't remember the stock Swype keyword having it, I thought the bottom type of keys ended at the screen.
Again, awesome work!
I'll thinking it would be a big task, but would you take a request for custom fonts?

Figured that out after about 3 seconds of resizing, the don't look as sexy as the original so I wasn't even going to finish trying.

wow that matches your theme quite nicely
As for the keys - their height is in fact a few pixels shorter than the height of the stock swype keys. First of all I wanted to keep the key size of the CM7 keyboard and secondly the loong keys of swype look unappealing to me, they are what makes the standard keyboard look so crowded/cramped.
What font are you thinking of? Maybe I could look into it on the weekend. Although I'm thinking I should look into making a HDPI version first
Theme is Donnaz Blue Miui, totally a coherent theme.
He made an Android keyboard theme, but I like Swype too much.
I use the font Sansation, I can send if you like.
Gotcha on the key height, just wondering.

[aBbt Themes] GO SMS, Keyboards, Launchers, Touchpal +

Hello everyone!
I am a long time XDA user since the days of Windows Mobile skinning, under the name htctoucher. I'm now using the name aBbtdesigns (coming from Blackberry Themeing - see http://bbtdesigns.com) and am starting to create themes for Android!
It's been several years since I was active on XDA Forums, used to love this site, and am looking to get back into it!
I'll be posting some of my themes here, with links to the Market and my site (sig) so you can check out more if you're interested. Please let me know what you think, any requests, etc!
Enjoy!

I did not buy one (i personally find themes that cost more than 1 euro expensive), but the screenshots are way more beautiful than any other skin i 've seen in the market
welcome to Android world! i remember testing themes for you back when i had my Bold 9700, not sure if you remember. ill definitely be having an eye out for your Android works now.

I didn't know swiftkey supported themes, do they now?
Are you taking requests? I like how you make themes for both Go SMS & Touchpal so that they can match!
I'm currently using the Dark Swift themes (which match fine) but testing out the Dark Blue themes (which don't match quite correctly).
Can the Touchpal keyboard be changed so that the letters on Touchpal are Black instead of White (to match the SMS chat bubble). Also, the color on Touchpal seems off by a little but, possibly due to the gradiant. Can the Touchpal blue color be made a few shades darker to match the SMS bubble blue color?
Thanks!
ps - tried to email you, but don't know if you check or of it just failed to get there

Hey polstein!
Glad to hear you're liking the themes!
I just checked it out. I don't think I'll be doing black letters on the keyboard just for visibility issues.
Although I can look into changing the color to white on the SMS bubbles. What do you think?
Funny I never got an email, which address did you send to?
Thanks for the reply!
I sent the mail through the address listed in the Market (ok, the Play Store..grr).
I'm not even sure which theme I'm using at the moment, I've been switching around a lot and still can't decide on a keyboard. Every time I try to stick with one, things jump out that annoy me & I switch to another (then repeat). Touchpal is pretty good, but has some annoyances (and while updates come out regularly, the dev doesn't seem to be responding anywhere).
Mostly, I like having the keyboard & sms match themes. In the case of the Dark Blue theme, the black text on blue looks pretty good in Go SMS, trying to imagine what it would look like on the keyboard (black letters on the blue keys). Could go white text in GO Sms, but might be a small step the wrong way (and upset people using it already). Either way, please don't change just for me - I don't think I'm going to stick with the Dark Blue Touchpal skin, it's just too bright for me.
In general, the ones I tend to like are darker skins with color accents. (Perhaps a version of Dark Blue Touchpal - flipped - so the keys are black and the accent/letters are the blue to match the Dark Blue Go SMS theme?)
Finally, I made a feeble attempt with the theme builder to make a GO Sms theme to match the "Classic" touchpal look (grey keys with black letters and blue accents. I used mspaint to grab the rgb values of the skin & made backrounds & bubbles in Go Sms to match the keyboard.... and it looks like like crap. Somewhere in there, I'd love to see a Go Sms theme to match the Classic Touchpal look. I know you can do a much better job then I can
Thanks for any work you do!
I'll look into doing a classic TouchPal theme. Added to the to-do!
Also to note, nearly all our Go SMS themes are now $1.99!

Read your post again today and I am wondering if you've checked out the Dark Phone Series. By your description it seems like it would fit perfectly into your request for black keys with blue accent highlights.
It's actually my favorite right now I have it running as I type this message! Have a look and see what you think!
www.a.bbtdesigns.com/dark-phone-series
It's currently available for Go SMS and Go keyboard. Coming soon for Go contacts.
I'm interested to hear what you think!
Best,
Kris
