Progress towards Notification Menu Power Widget Mod on Inc Framework - Droid Incredible Android Development

Ok. So as of now I have put about 19 straight hours of work into porting this thing over.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=836721&page=27
Of the necessary edits, I have all but one single smali completely finished. Im hoping to get this working before i pass out...literally
Thanks to JsiChiSurf for putting this together, the amount of work that went into was MASSIVE and you should all buy him a beer for it. Hes been extremely helpful as I waded though the (no exaggeration) thousands of lines of code he modified.
Also I wanna say thanks to Lou for browsing the thread when I visited his profile page or i wouldnt have noticed it last night.
As of now theres nothing to see, nothing to show you guys, but rest assured, its getting there. this is a HUGE mod, itll take some time. Look for it in my rom that ill be releasing in a week or so.

the issue wasnt actually apktool. looks like jsichisurf didnt have the extended battery mod (1-100%) on his base rom, so the ids from the new images needed for his mod conflict with the pre existing ones from the battery. im trying to find a way to set new ids for them all :/

got all three files to compile, just pushed them to my phone, rebooting now. hopefully i got this successfully ported to the inc framework!

well, if anyone interested in my progress, i almost have t successfully ported over. the framework-res and framework.jar files install without a hitch. the problem is the StatusBarService.smali in services.jar all the other ones ive been able to "port" over, but i havent been able to get it to work with that one, it gets JUST before the final boot and then starts to loop. you know the little vibrate your phone gives right before it goes from the boot animation to the homescreen? it gets that far. im close.
i figure once i get it working ill turn this int to official thread for the mod. wish me luck

Good luck! Looking forward to this. Thanks for all your hard work.

i think i just got the services.jar to sucessfully install. just need to see if i can get all three to go nicely together
and of course to make sure i did actually did it right xD

I was just thinking this would be much better then the recent apps list. Cool to are you're working on it. Looking forward to this!

I would just be careful. Lou from the RR Rom ported it and there is some 3g issues. You can find the thread in my Sig.

Ultimate Droid ROM has something similar to this. If you're having problems perhaps look at his code and see how he did it? I don't really know anything about this stuff so i apologize if that sounds dumb

Chances are its STOLEN...but no being serious, Ultimate Droid is based on the Cyanogenmod's main code base and is another AOSP (built from google's source) rom. As the OP stated, it took so long because he basically had to decompile the already built sense rom, then write what cyanogenmod already had done for the cyanogenmod toggle widgets into that new decompiled code.

isn't the point of google AOSP to be open source. How do you "steal" open source code?

I believe MIUI has it also

MIUI has a scrollable one and CyanogenMod has it.

APP drawer orginizer?

My girl and i both have G1s. Her phone uses DXtop and is not rooted. Her DXtop has the ability to orginize APPs in her APP drawer. I have been looking everywhere and cant find anything that alows my rooted G1 to do the same. Is there anything out there that can manage APPs in the drawer on a rooted G1 running cyan 4.0.4?

Advanced launcher is a home replacement. I'm interested in a theme or application that is not running over my original home but allows the APP drawer to be customized. Besides, it also states that it is not usable with Cyan 4.0.4. Any other ideas?

its not a home replacement like dxtop....it actually replaces the one you have
did you even read the op properly?
I'm confused by myself. So here's the description: u17 ist still the old version for cupcake releases. There is a standalone and a replacement. Both are for cupcake based builds.
Then there ist v2.0.1. It's the new version. It's for donut based builds. And it's currently only the replacement version, standalone will come.
So don't use v2.0.1 on cupcake based builds (like cyanogen's 4.0.4 stable) and don't use u17 or u17_replacement on donut based builds (like the cyanogen experimental branch).

i.e........ u17 is compatible with 4.0.4 but not donut

I would love to see my productivity numbers before and after. Between XDA, Hulu, CNN, and some other randum stuff I might look up I don't know how I get anything done. Good thing I do programming so I can just say "Hey this stuff got me stumped." Also I know how to really drag out a project. Good thing I work with a bunch of goof off's too.

yesterday i spent 3 hours debugging another teams program. they had 6000 SLIC and it crashed on run time. I figured what the hell, im up for a challenge. well the whole program crashed because of one letter
fliers instead of flier
both flier and fliers were valid so it compiled fine but crashed when it was run. the exception being thrown was nowhere near (in a completely unrelated class) where the error was and the debugger on eclipse missed it completely.
turns out, the guys made bets on how long it would take me to find it. (i beat all their wagers. i told them to give me the pot or id report their asses. see, im super productive XP )
because of that diversion, i didnt get my team to finish their project so i made them stay after xD

LOL. Yea one lil letter, number, space, or character and that throws everything off. I've had to go thru line by line studyin everything to see whats been wrong and after awhile everything just blurs together. Luckly I'm workin on a couple different projects that use arbortext which makes everything alot easier. But there's those times arbortext messes up and its back to lookin at the code in text pad or word pad and wow you already know how that is.

Question and Request, Blur?

I want to thank everyone in the community. Awesome work everyone. I am a long time Android fan. I started with a G1, MT3G, Cliq, moment, and now my hero. I thing that I am among the only one when I had and rooted the cliq but I liked the interface. I guess my question is one, would anyone else want a cliq rom? Two, is it possible to take Motoblur from a GSM rom and port it to CDMA? Third, Would there be any volunteers to try if the other two questions are yes?
I do not have linux and it has been a while since I have used it. I am more then willing to help in anyway I can if this starts to become a reality.
Thanks again to all the DEV's you guys are what makes Android, Android.
I'd love to try it out if anyone could manage this. Sounds like it would be quite an undertaking.
I'm working on this now. It boots, but blur and pretty much everything else force closes. Once I get a stable booting ROM without force closes I'll post it up. I'm real busy right now, but I will be able to work on it in the next few days, so hopefully I can get something goin. This doesn't mean no one else should try, by all means do, incase something happens with mine

Just an FYI I've got a system bump of the backFlip - yeah I know stupid base. But it was easier to find than the Cliq dump. I am purely interested to see if I can even do it. Once I get something bootable I will post it....assuming I actually get something bootable.

Read, Read, Read...if you want to develop, its not difficult if you have programming background. If not, ehhh good luck writing a program. Given Java is pretty easy to learn, just not a language I would want to start with. If you are absolutely new to programming go get a c++ book, then work out to other languages.
If any one cares I get to a boot screen - But I am missing copybit.heroc.so and am getting a JavaSetAlarmRequest error in logcat any Ideas? I can probably fix the copybit thing with putting the file in place, the java alarm baffles me.

Hey guys, to those who are currently working on this. I am going to pass along some advice that Toast gave to me when I started working on this. Take the rom you want to port, open up the boot.img, and drop our kernel into the boot.img. Rebuild the boot.img, and resign the rom, and it might be bootable (hopefully anyways). That would give you a start, then you can go through and work out the bugs

Man, I would LOVE for it to be this simple! Lol but I can't find a boot.img for cliq or backflop any where! I am working with a bare Rom and trying to throw in bits and pieces of moto frameworks and jars and apks. Made progress to a homescreen but its unusable with fcs.
wouldn't you be running into a problem with the any system apks from blur that have optimized dex? The classes.dex is removed from the apk so how can you generate a dex to run on the hero?

Yeah lol, I agree, that's where I was getting, home screen, everything FC's. Ugh. I've had to abandon working on it due to school and other useless stuff like that....lol. But good luck man. There is a G1 Blur port rom called S_Blur. Download that, and try to work with that. It comes with a boot.img, so rip it (and ours) open, drop the kernel in, and see what happens
just thought of something... would we be able to sign in to the motoblue account? you have to have motoblur and gmail for this....
Ok so. I have been trying forever to get our kernel into the Blur boot.img.
I can unpack it, but I can't repack it. It keeps telling me that my ramdisk file doesn't exist! I CAN SEE IT ITS RIGHT THERE! I am running from a liveCD so that may be the issue.
Could someone please take the boot.img-kernel from the files attached and drop it into the BlurBoot.img for me?
I have posted our boot.img and the Blur boot.img in the attached ZIP.
On a side note, there is a pretty easy to follow tutorial on doing this
Here for those of you who don't have any clue what is being talked about and want to learn.
Anytime I try to do anything CPIO from this live CD (Ubuntu 9.1) it freaks out on me. Soooo maybe time to do an actual install and get this stuff setup like it needs to be.

Ok, Froyo 2.3.15 and Tranquility 2.3.5rc installed smoothly, but when I tried applying Onix Gala X theme from ROM Manager, I got stuck at the M logo. Battery pull solved the issue. So I'll try applying the theme manually.
I haven't noticed anything new so far from the short time I spent browsing around the phone. I'm dying to see the change logs lol!
Edit: manually installing Gala X theme worked =)
Edit2: I'm not sure if it was true for 2.3.13, but in this one Flash shows up in the Market.
In the market for 2.3.13 too, noticed it today .

Okay... Not trying to sound like an ass but this has been eating away at me for a good twelve hours or so....
You are paying for an app. Cool idea in my opinion.
You are also paying for access to mods. Not unheard of.(supporting is good)
Lots of hype for access to something no one else has.
Using the hype to, in a way, make people donate for your work that is kind of iffy. I like what those guys are trying to do but I do not like how they are doing it. I just can't quite hit on the point I am trying to make but I feel something scetchy is going on here. Thus, I go back to... Paying for an app that creates access to what they are making. Cool idea in my opinion.
God I hope I don't get flamed to hard for this.... Trying hard not to be a Debbie Downer.
Those that are satisfied with the Tranquility roms will likely donate. Although I do believe the leak itself should be available to the general public.

Dude I understand you have your opinion, but if you don't want to support, then you may just have to wait for someone else to find a leak source in one of the MOST locked down firmware arenas for android, TBH is doing an amazing job! THREE 2.2 updates before motosuck released its first!? They deserve the two bucks for the app. Mind you this is coming from a person who has only purchased one app for his droid x; the one we are talking about. Besides with all the C&D motosuck has been throwing around this is a resonable alternative to insure we get the content we want. OH! And not to mention tranquility is one of the best alternatives to motoblur out right now, $2 seems like a VERY small price to pay for no hassle dl's and quick update potential. Thank you again Team Black Hat for all the hard work! I see kernel's in the near future.... Wahoo!

Frankly, don't waste your time. UD is nothing more than CM7 ripped off (using CM7's code with little to no acknowledgment). If you want the features, just flash the latest CM7 7.1 release, and you are good to go.

Frankly, don't waste your time. UD is nothing more than CM7 ripped off (using CM7's code with little to no acknowledgment). If you want the features, just flash the latest CM7 7.1 release, and you are good to go.

This man/woman has spoken the truth.
This thread is starting to reek of spam.
Thank you both for the info! I was just looking for ROMS to try and saw this. Glad to know Cyanogenmod was ripped off by this, so I won't even give it a second look.

Yea. in fact when said "developer" first attempted a ROM on the OG Droid, they left the CyanogenMod Boot Animation on the ROM. So some of the CM team downloaded the ROM and started digging though it. They found embedded cookies that they forgot to remove. Basically all they did was re-theme the ROM and took out the "cyanogenMod Options". I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Request. Is CRTanimation coming to the One ??

As the title suggests, is the CRT animation which looks amazing and i miss sorely from literally every phone i've ever had,is it coming to the One ??
Many thanks to anyone thinking of taking it up and expect a donation if you complete it
Cheers Dev's

I'd say no as HTC removed the code for it in sense ICS and sense 4 jb, although sense 5 is a lot different that's why you don't see it in sense 3.6 or 4
I can't confirm that the code is gone but I don't know if it there
Possible I think on AOSP though if that gets up and running

Ah i see, thanks for the heads up, i wasn't aware of that, i thought it was left in by all versions from raw android, shame they took it out, it looks so good to simply remove it ?? Weirdo's
Cheers m8.
PS:You're the first person to put me straight on this so thanks for that.

It's smali modifs that need to be done in services.jar and android.policy.jar.. And powermanagerbrightnessanimator.smali
It can be done....
Once i get the device, probably next Week , i'll look into it
The change use to be in framework but since hd2 days , it's a smali edits in the files above that do the trick
AFAIK it wasnt possible on the One X since there wasnt any libs for that effect out for the Tegra 3 platform. With the One it should be more easy since it uses the same GPU as the Nexus 4 does, plus Qualcomm Chipset. I am no expert but in general, from my understanding, it should be alot easier to get AOSP and Nexus 4 features on the One than on the One X. Really looking forward to a possible CRT effect, loved it on my Nexus 4.

Crt "on" effect is made out of libsurfaceflinger.so, crt off is only made out of the 2 jars above...
A smali code is also requiered into the kernel , to make it fully working, it could be activated into it by default...
Crt in aosp are made and built from source... can't be added to jars from the ONE..
I already checked services.jar the lines missing can be added..

Why is this thing deemed such a big deal? Seen the YouTube vids of it and people are massively fixated on it? WTAF?

It's not a big thing, it's personal taste and i think it looks cool, if i can get it then i'd like it, you've told us your opinion and your entitled to that, in all fairness why are you posting here? I'm asking people if it can be done or if it will be done. I didn't ask your opinion on whether it's any good or even if it's a big deal.

Ahh it's cool man, appreciate you trying.
AOSP has it working just fine so maybe when it's a bit more stable i can use that as a dd, it's not the end of the world i was just curious, and damn HTC for making it difficult, no idea what they've gained from that. Or the BT stack not working with BT peripherals, can't see the logic in it.

crt in AOSP are built from source, not an easy port , as smali are different..

Before the One hit the market there were plenty of people posting "no crt, not buying" which was why I felt the need to find a vid of it.
When I saw what they were crying about I quickly decided that we were well rid of them. Especially as the majority of them probably weren't old enough to have ever SEEN a CRT with that pronounced an effect.

Yea i understand that, but maybe with what you've said about the boot img being edited or modded then it could be possible in the future, i think time will tell but i'm not holding much hope.
Thanks for your insight m8
