Was explained 10 and more times... extract radio.img from OTA, make update-script, zip, sign (or not), flash via recovery.

Thanks for this, Can you or others who have flashed this report on your experience so far. Any bad issues? (bluetooth/wifi) and how is the 3G signal.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have nothing to do with radio firmware. They are on a separate chip...

I flashed this radio about 2h ago and everything seems good so far, no change at home from 7.08 radio, let's see what happens tomorrow at work (there I have bad signal reception)

I flashed this Radio only. I don't know how it is possible but Gesture Search no longer activates with Double Flip Motion. I can't think of anything I've done otherwise that may cause this interference. Also ran a callibiration and reinstalled Gesture Search.
Anyone else having trouble with Double Flip? Please let me know. Weird.

Wondering ! Cool thx pfak,it worked ok for me.

I have to restart the APN every once and a while
and the APN fix is just for the new kernel,... I hope there will be an other radio included in the WWE rom

What on earth has APN config to do with kernel?

there should have been a question mark but it got lost in rewriting I guess.
I thought it had to do with the kernel since snakehult made a topic: APN update FroYo 2.2 - Kernel 2.6.32.17
To me that looked like APN update included in kernel 2.6.32

It has nothing to do with kernel.

As usual it appears that this thread has been derailed by people having no idea what they are talking about, this is a RADIO update and ONLY affects the RADIO.
It does not affect: APN configuration, WiFi, Bluetooth, The colour of the sky
Please, please stop with the anecdotal responses and things like 'this works better' or 'this works worse' without actual benchmarks and proof (such as a 'control' phone) your postings are useless and just take up space.

Actually I don't know about Legend, but in others phones radio affects to almost every wireless stuff (like WIFI or GPS) because of the integration just in one chip.

On Legend Qualcomm MSM7227 (SOC) drives phone's radio and TI WL1273 drives Wi-Fi, BT and FM radio.
Sent from my HTC Legend

using it for a few hours, so far so good, no reboots, not connection drops etc, update later
stilll ok, with cyano 6.1 rc1

Flashing went on until 99%, then it resulted in an error 262. After i took out and reinserted the battery the phone started up normally. Windows shows that the new radio rom has been installed.

Had the same problem. Worked fine the 2nd time I flashed again.
I've used the flash from SD card method for both the radio and the ROM. Far easier and more stable than trying to do it over USB.
Anyway it is already tested and works
Just re-flash and omit the error if you get to 99%, check your device's on-screen "radio version" to check
The error seems related to the "security lock" (notice: NOT = "sim" or "operator lock")
Congrats on your successful flash, please report your "xperiances" with the new radio ROM

do you see any noticeable difference between this radio and one that you had before?
With the default x1i radio, i sometimes notice that when using wifi holding the x1 in one hand and the stylus in the other, the radio will disconnect and start searching for signal, will updating radio solve this issue?

We haven't quite moved in to our new house yet, but during one of the walk throughs I noticed that I barely get any signal there. Well, I flashed a newer radio on and went back out there last night. I easily picked up another bar. Its not like I went from no signal to full bars, but it was a little better.
I have Radio 1.10.25.18
Also, the bluetooth stays on all the time It does not turn itself off randomly.
Wifi seems to work ok. Signal wise, i didn't encountered any "hiccups" until now. The battery life seems to be increased by 30-40%.

Hello,
trying/tried to upgrade my 1.10.25.18 Radio (from R2A UK generic) to the BLACKSTONE_Radio_1.10.25.25 Radio found here.
Doing it from PC, and the ROM update utility 3.22.4.3 comes up with this:
Verify that you want to update the ROM version:
From:
Image Version : 1.03.931.8
To:
Image Version : 1.00.Raphael
Is this right? seems like I'm downgrading (or is that the details of the full rom but since I'm only picking the Radio I should be fine?
Cheers

yeah keeps forclosing for me too and i downloaded loaded and uninstalled like 5times lol i think this is just happeneing with rooted g1's =/ downer
yeap happening to me too. i wonder if it was intentional?

I too am having problems. For all those that need the old version, I am including it in this post. For those that might know how to fix the new one, I am including it in this post as well. Just unzip. Both files inside. 2.0 is obviously the newest version.
Mods, I don't think this is a problem, as the app is not protected and readily available on the Market.
Thanks in advance to someone that can fix it, and I hope the old version helps someone who might have forgotten to back it up.

ok i have something strange to report...
i have the new version installed (2.0) and like everyone else it wont open BUT
my battery level just dropped below 30% and my phone got a notification from My Account 2.0 and when i clicked it a popup came up giving me suggestions to save my battery by changing some settings...hmmmm FC but still running in the background...
2.0 myacct
i am also getting foreclosures hope it was an error by tmobile and theyll update tomorrow or something i cant believe they would target rooted ppl.
Anyone with a JF US CRC1 rom tried it?
Could be that since most of us are on anything but the T-mobile rom that it does this
I mean most of these ROMs are based of ADP or AOSP..
I'm not sure, and maybe im just talking non sense..
But also someone in the comments said they had a Google Ion and it didn't work also..
So this could be ONLY for T-Mobile branded phones?

Give credit next time. There is some property in build.prop that the app is looking at to see if our phone is supported....dont know which tho since my ROM's build.prop keeps going back to its default every time i apply a "fixed" one.
The app is getting a NullPointerException, I don't think it has anything to do with being rooted or not.

So what IS the build.prop change that we need to make? And will it hurt anything else if I modify it?
See my post above...its using the build.prop to detect if we can use it...thus this error on some rooted phones.

So I'm not entirely sure how the naming theme works, but it appears this radio is a lower version number than the newest evo radio for the Inc.
Newest radio we have is 2.15.00.11.19 and this one here is 2.15.00.04.08?
Please enlighten me, someone.

None so far. I used the Bootloader version to install. Worked fine.
I have been 88-92 dBm in my computer room with every radio I have tried. The Evo 11.19 was around -90 and was the most stable for me and best call quality.
I am sitting at -85 dBm with this radio. Not a huge difference, but I am optimistic.
Of course I will have to play with it for a few days to be sure the dbm difference equates to call quality and download speeds.
Thanks for the link.
Just flashed the bootloader version. Fine. Ill see how it is over the next few days
Hmmm, curious. I want to flash but skeptical at this point.
Here we go again with the pointless radio flashing.

Been a while since I flashed a radio and I know it's not good to screw those up.
This gets done in CW or just on the basic bootloader when it asks you to press volume up or down (yes or no) to install?
I didn't see any significant changes in my area. Went from -89 to -90, lol
Edit: I thinks worse now -93

Bootloader. Make sure it's named "p31img.zip" and not "p31img.zip.zip" Drop it into the root directory of your SD card. Bootloader will do the rest. When you're successfully booted after the flash, remove the zip file from your root directory.
Wait for the thing to fully reboot. Resist the urge to pull the battery, lest you find yourself with a brick.
Flashing the radio is just about the only way you can permanently screw up your Android. You might want to wait to find out what improvements are part of the new radio before you risk flashing it.
Im not seeing any difference in signal strength.

Keep in mind, however, that the leaked OTA has TVOut in it now (two files, the apk and a library, actually) which has been noticeably lacking from the prior Incredible Gingerbread leak. It is possible (dunno 'cause I haven't flashed these yet, only just seeing this thread) that this radio is required for TV out to work under Gingerbread. (One recognized developer suggested that was possible).
Edit: Nevermind. Flashed the radio; added the two files I thought I needed for TV Out, still can't get it. Must be missing something else and will just have to wait.....
