dj05 back to stock framework.zip ?? - Fascinate Themes and Apps

Is there one floating around out there?

It should be in the update.zip you used to get dj05.

There is a stock restore .zip in my theme thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9412090#post9412090

Stock Recovery

hEY GUYS,
I need your help you guys. I have a
. Rooted Nexus1
. Froyo F50.
. Amon Ra's Recovery.
Now i am trying to update to the FR83 update floating around but it will require the stock recovery so how do i revert back to the stock recovery or is there a repack FR83.zip that i can flash using the custom recovery ???
STill how do i revert back to the stock recovery???
Thanks people.
You all are awesome.
Regards,
Nadeem
I would download paul's frf83. You won't need to use the stock recovery for it. http://android.modaco.com/content/g...-frf83-stock-rooted-deodex-superboot-repacks/
get FRF83 stock rooted + insecure + ChainsDD's Superuser app update zip
----------------------------------------------
to reload the original recovery image:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=614850
Download the original shipping image zip. unzip recovery.img to the folder with adb.
Do steps 1-5 and then 12.
Also, this should be in the Q&A forum
Thanks worker 1. Is Paul's frf83 tempered with in anyway ? i was trying to get stock frf83 on my N1 to see what kind of work has been done by google before trying out work of these gifted developers like paul and cyanogen
Not tampered with in any way like new launcher and things like that. Other than what mentioned they are out-of-the-box clean.
I still have my original recovery done with Amon.. Always a tip to have that saved on a hardrive when flashing Roms for the first time.

Does anybody have a deodexed "stock" theme?

I'd like to have it in update.zip or metamorph format to reset the theme back to stock if I want to play.
Thanks

[Please help] First time installing custom rom, does not work.

This is the first time I am rooting and installing a custom rom. Please help me!
I followed the instructions on the first page of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091 but I can't get this ROM to install. I get the following message...
E: Can't symlink /system/bin/cat
E:Failure at line 6:
symlink toolbox SYSTEM:bin/cat
Installation aborted.
I have tried installing both the latest version (7) and 5.6.
What can I do?
which firmware is on your device? are you rooted?
try Docs or darky's rom and do not unzip the rom file. put on internel SD
Im on JM9 (Eclair) and trying to install darkys rom (tried both v.7 and 5.6). I am not rooted as it says in darkys installation guide:
"- Either an 2.1 Eclair Firmware
- or Froyo and a kernel with Recovery 2e [by ChainFire] to flash 'update.zip' files."
I am on Eclair (I downgraded from Froyo with Odin). I have put it on internal SD and I have not unzipped it.

After eclair you have to flash clockwork recovery mod (cwm) after that you are able to flash modded roms

Did you use lag fix?? disable it first.
Or you can also try ROM Manager (d/l from market) to flash ClockWork recovery.
By the way, for which part that you got struck??

Yes, get a hold of Clockwork recovery (linked in Darky's post I think but you can just search for it), rename it update.zip and put it in the root of your internal SD, then using 2e recovery apply it (twice) to get into clockwork recovery from which you can flash custom ROMs etc.
I have got past what you describe. The error message comes when I am trying to install the actual darky rom from CWM.

Hmmm..perhaps you have a broken download? Try this. On your computer, open the Darky ROM with winrar or 7zip or something similar. Does it open fine? Or does it give an error of some sort? If it does show an error, redownload and make sure it's working.
This was the case for people always getting stuck with similar errors while flashing custom ROMs
It opens fine. I have also tried both v.7 and version 5.6.

Rename it only to
Update
As it is already a .zip file

Should I try to reset Dalvik?
Did you try a different rom like a doc rom or one from jim pansee to see if the problems are just with darkyys rom?

Have not tried another custom rom yet. I obviously should try that.

installing Firefly Rom with clockwork

I'm trying to update Firefly from 2.0.5 to 2.2 but for some reason it's not working.
I used Odin to flash to stock Rogers 2.1 (http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20958367/I896UXJI2-homebinary.tar) which boots fine now. I then rooted and installed clockworkmod and uploaded firefly to my sd card and renamed it to update.zip.
Now every time I use clockworkmod to apply the update.zip, it just flashes a few lines then goes back to the green menu.
Can anyone help me figure this out please?

why are you renaming the rom to update.zip?
how do you expect clockwork to actually work? when you flash clockworkmod recovery it puts an update.zip onto your sdcard....that gets you into CWM....
stop renaming roms to update.zip!
Leave firefly name alone don't rename it to update.zip and choose install from zip
[ROM] Precision 3.5 [Kernel] Suckerpunch #51
Oooh! I thought I had to rename it
Let me try it this way then, thanks!
edit: Wow I'm dumb. Can't believe it was that simple.
This is how you brick your phone. Read up on how to flash a rom dont just poke around. But its you phone if you what a $200.00 paper weight have at it.
Issue resolved Thread closed. Please make sure you know what you are doing when trying to flash your phone, Being not sure of it will lead to a big brick

NeonGT theme

heya guys,
first of all im really new to all this stuff
ive just installed 2.2 froyo.
and now i would like to install NeonGT on it.
I am rooted.
so i downloaded the NeonGT zip file.
renamed it to Update.zip
so i went to recorvery mode (lower vulume + power + menu buttens)
and click on the 'apply sdcard:update.zip'
but it say'd this
'E:error in /mnt/internal_sd/update.zip
(status 2)
installation aborted'
so i dit some more looking on the web
and it say'd i had to download ROM Manager and so i did.
went to 'reboot into recovery' but it didn't reboot, it didn't do a think.
so i went to 'Install rom from sd card' also dat didn't worked
can anyone help me?
First off, you need to be on a custom ROM because it's deodexed and therefore can accept a theme. You need to be on a custom kernel with clockwork mod in order to flash the zip file that the theme comes in. Finally, you need to make sure that the theme that you are flashing is compatible with the ROM you're using.
Step one; pick a custom ROM and download CWM version and stick it in the root directory of your SD card. Do the same with the theme.
Step two; flash a custom kernel with clockwork mod through Odin.
Step three; enter recovery, clear cache, Dalvik cache, factory reset/wipe and then flash the custom ROM. You're rooted so I'll assume you have titanium backup, if not you should have gotten it and I'm hoping you read these instructions before acting on them....
Step four; flash the theme through recovery mode with clockwork mod. Use "choose zip from SD card", not update.zip
Step five; run the restore on titanium backup, wait for a little while(paid version) or sit there and press install... done for all of your apps.
Step six; enjoy.
.
heya Exinferios
thnx for youre reply.
well i have Gingerbread 2.3 the leaked version on my Galaxy s i9000

Confirmed working with Spike's 5.1 JPY, Darky's V7.7/8.0 JPY, Insanity 0.3.1 JPY and Doc's V8.0/1 JPY.
New confirmed working with new JS3 roms, like Doc's 9.1/Darky's 9.2 as well as other custom JPX/U/Y and JS3 roms.
