[Q] Anyway to install sqlite on nc? - Nook Color General

some apps (aldiko and is suppose superuser) need to access db files to operate correctly. is there any way to install sqlite or is this something we need to add into a custom rom?

You stated that this is required for Aldiko. If this application is installed on the NC, will that solve the problem with Aldiko remembering the chapter that was being read, but not the page?

Isn't it already installed?
I thought i remember reading that one of the fixes for installing apps was to pull a sqlite db, run a script to set a new value to allow apps and then push it back.

Have you tried sqlite editor? It is a paid app on the market... I got to it by trying to open a DB file from root explorer when Modding for installing apps from SD.

"Not Enough Free Space"in system/app dir?

I'm trying to cut and paste the Amazon Appstore APK to my system/app directory, by way of Super Manager on my Auto Nooted 3.0 Nook Color. When I cut the Amazon APK from my SD card (downloaded by way of Dropbox) and try to paste it into my system/app folder, I get a "Not Enough Free Space" popup, and the apk is automatically copied into the system directory only.
I did select R/W when prompted by Super Manager.
There's plenty of space left on the device. What am I doing wrong that is causing me to get this free space error?
Thanks for your help.
Space on the device, and space on the partition are two very different things. I use Root Explorer, and that tells you exactly how much space is available in the partition...

Still should be plenty of space. There's nothing but the rooted OS and about 10 apps. Regardless I'll check using another utility.
I'll try a reboot as well.
Thanks for the quick reply.
You need root and need to set the folder to r/w to write to that directory.
You should really be putting that file in the data/app folder instead.

I don't know if this will help you or not but I'm rooted v1.1.0_r2 and here's what I did:
(I already had apps Installer on my NC - from the Android Market - I thin it is free)
1 - move the apk form desktop to nook via dropbox
2 - moved the apk to the root of the SD card
3- run Apps Installer
That's it! Amazon AppStore works well.

[Q] Samsung Froyo Keyboard Apk

I'm running Phoenix Unleashed on my Captivate and love it, and while the Gingerbread keyboard is fine, I really miss the predictive text and the functionality of the old Samsung keyboard from Froyo.
Does anyone either know the where I can get the app or the .apk so I can pull it from another source?
I discovered that AxT9IME.apk was what I was looking for, so I uploaded it to my phone. However, it won't install. Can anyone think of a reason why the app won't install or how I can install it? (Before you ask, I have selected the option to allow my phone to install unknown apps.)

Keyboards are system apps, you don't install. Put the apk into the /system/app folder using ADB or root explorer. You may or may not have to reboot to get it to show.
Caution swyping! Read at your own risk.

If that doesn't work there might be a lib file in /system/lib for the predictive text dictionary also. All I use is swype and thats how it is with that idk about this one for sure though.
I tried both loading the app and lib files. I tried copying them into the rom file and loading the rom, which failed.
I'm just running a different rom. Life as we know it did not cease.

[Q] Can't install non market apps - bang head here

I have spent the last three hours trying to install sideloaded apps with Ghost Commander, SU Terminal app, and nothing works.
I've read through many of the threads, but can't seem to find a solution.
I'm running 1.2 manualnooter.
My husband lost the ability to access his exchange email, so I'm trying to sideload a few apps to see what works best. There will be great unhappiness in rubyland if I don't get this figured out.
install nookcolor tools and check the install non market apps box and reboot.. im sure you can find the nc tools on google via search.

Had already done the nookcolor tools check, hence my frustration..

Try installing with your SD card out. (Copy the .apk into the main memory, then eject the SD card, then try to install)
Where do I put the apk files.....Just on my SD card or is there a specific folder they go in??

[Q] Enabling non-market aps with OneClick

I have used SuperOneClick to root my phone, and am now trying to use it to enable non-market aps. When I do, I get the following message:
Checking value... (requires root)
Non-market applications are disabled.
Allow non-market apps... (requires root)
OK
Checking value... (requires root)

Can anyone let me know what I need to do to enable non-market aps?
Did you try a non market app Install to make sure it wasn't working?

Bro...same thing here. What I did was flash to just about any rom and the rom will allow to install non market apps. Also, on the market there is an app that allows you to install apps from the SD card. So you could go to getandroidstuff.com and download the .apk, put on your cappy, and use the app to install. But personally I like the ROM! Yee

Sorry, I never got an e-mail that I got a reply.
Yes, I've tried to download the new Amazon market but get an error message that I can't install non-market aps.
There is a second way. It involves tibu and a brain.
1. Find settings storage in an Sqlite editor, I use sqlite from the market, it costs money but it is worth it.
2. Find the database in settings storage and open it
3. Click on secure
4.look at the first column, find allow non market apps.
Change the value for the non market apps from 0 to 1
5. Save the database.
You may need to reboot but that shouldn't be necessary
If it is already a 1 then change it to a zero and save then do it again.
Also before you do this download the super one click again and try it with the newly downloaded one click.

Did you root using one click, then try that( i reccomend rageagainstthecage method)(on the right upper corner of program)

[Q] How do you install android market app ?

I have the cricket zio, with a z4 root, either rooted or unrooted; the problem is: a while ago, i somehow managed to get the android market app uninstalled and moved to the sd card- yeh, i know, a system app,- and then along the line somewhere i formatted the sd card and factory reset the phone...the market app was gone. Now, even though i downloaded a 3.3.11 ver of android market apk, it forces close before it even gets going, after installation..
questions are: what version of android market apk is cricket zio running? what specific directory is the app located? what file folders should i have as factory default? i have froyo.

yeh...thanks...now i have to buy a file browser that allows write access to the system folder.. I finally found and downloaded a compatible market apk. for my cricket zio, version 2.2.6, and then found out the free file browser i was using, Droid Explorer, didn't allow write privileges in folders that are read only, like the system folder. Otherwise its all good..was ready to forget this phone, even though i have full access to the amazon appstore.
Did you get it to work? Let me know if you need help. Gtalk with me [email protected]
