[Q] Disable headset controls for Music Mod (but not other music players) - Nexus One Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there a way to disable headset controls in the version of Music Mod that's currently incorporated into CM6.1-RC1?
Music Mod is cool and all, but I prefer PowerAMP and Music Mod sometimes intercepts headset controls when I actually want to start PowerAMP.
I've looked high and low through system settings and CyanogenMod settings, and can't seem to find a settings menu within Music Mod itself. Is there a simple solution that I'm overlooking?

do you mean like if you use the controls on the headset instead of controlling your current app triggers the default music player installed as stock on the android (not sure if Music Mod is stock... i just know it as Music)? because i have the same problem! ill be using pandora and the pause/play triggers either Music.apk or Winamp and its really annoying.

Yeah dude, that sounds like exactly the problem I'm having! Here's hoping the XDA brain trust can help us out :]

I have the same issue while using Pandora! Hope there's a fix?

Not that it helps this specific problem, but go to now playing, then menu>more>settings for settings.

headset control buttons

i am having problems with my stock headsets
the control buttons dont work at all.
i cant pause/unpause or change track while listening to music
i cant pick up or hang up a call either.
anyone facing the same issues?
any fixes?
Could be two things.
Do you use a task killer? Make sure you're not killing the required service or app.
If you have installed other music players they may have taken over the controls, to overcome this you can reinstall the stock music app or w/e your using.

i've had pandora, but issues still apply to pandora as well
i've wiped and tried the headset with the music player right after before installing any other apps, and still i have the same issues
Uninstall any media player app you have installed, it could be interfering with headset clicks.
Use default media player and enable headset controls in configuration.
Put the default media player widget on any of the main screens.
If it doesn't work yet. Try installing DroidShuffle and check again.
there's also an app on the market called fix headset controls or restore music controls.. something like that which restores the head phone buttons to original.

[Q] Where can I submit my feature request for CyanogenMod?

I have a feature suggestion, but I have no idea where to officially submit a request of any sort. In case anyone is interested in my suggestion, here it is.
Introduction
------------
Right now, we have the option of showing lockscreen music controls only when music is already playing, or have the controls show regardless of whether or not music is playing. When the music controls are always shown, it is a bit silly to always have them there when we're not planning to listen to music. If we go with the other option, we must first unlock the screen then start our favorite music app for the controls to show. I have in mind a more dynamic, conditional, demand-based way to start music. It is based on the simple fact that I (as well as most people I'm sure) intend to listen to music only when headphones are plugged in.
Suggested solution
------------
I would like the additional option to show lockscreen music controls regardless of whether or not music is playing ONLY when headphones are plugged in. Having this option would allow easy start of music when headphones are plugged in, which ideally would be when music is in demand. When headphones are not plugged in, the controls are not unnecessarily there, when ideally music is not in demand anyway.
So hypothetically the Input settings would look something like this:
Code:
Lockscreen music control yes
Always display music control yes
...only when headphones are plugged in yes
Actually I'm not sure what is more logical, having the 2nd option checked or unchecked, but you get the idea. I imagine this would not be difficult to implement. I am aware that the stock music player has the "Unpause on connect" feature, but I am using Winamp, which does not have this option. An option in CM settings would be dynamic and independent of media player.
I know that cm 6.1 has the lockscreen music control settings. Settings/cm Settings/ input settings. But it dalways displays it. Not just when headphones are plugged in. Off topic here.... were we on the HTC Vogue together? I feel like I've seem you before lol
Edit..... I need to read better lol just read that you know about the settings..... I feel stupid :/
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
Don't feel stupid, everyone does it some time. Oh and maybe you've seen me post in nfinitefx's ROM threads, I recognize your name from there.
Why not. Would increase quality.
First I would personnally prefer a different feature. Having what we are currently playing displayed on the lockscreen (with music control) : artist, track, album.

[Q] How to stop mic button from starting media player?

I did several searches, but was unable to find an answer to this. I hope one of you can enlighten me
I recently installed the "Listen" app to listen to podcasts. When i plug in the stock headphones that come with the Captivate and then click the mic button on it, it will bring up & control the media player playback instead of Listen. Is there a way to configure the behavior of this button? Is there a way to keep it from bringing up the Media Player app and instead control the Listen app?
Thanks!
I've been having the same issue. I installed winamp, but I get the same thing.
I installed doubleTwist, and it looks like it properly takes over button so that the stock music player app is no longer launched. Does this mean Listen is not doing it right?

[Q] Music Volume (speakers)

(I accidentally posted to the wrong forum this morning (Butterfly Q&A) which is why I'm reposting it here, mods.)
Just got my One yesterday and I have an extensive music library stored with Google Music. As you have to use their app to play streamed music stored on their service, I noticed that even with maximum volume settings, it is not playing as loud as I hoped through the speakers. Headphone volume is fine and also other apps like YouTube play loud so it's not apparently the phone, but apparently limitations in the Play Music app? It makes no difference with beats on or off and yes, I have maximum volume set for "media and music" in settings plus the volume rocker on the phone is set to max. Does anyone know of an app I can use with Play Music to increase the sound when using the speakers and has anyone else noticed this?
i use poweramp try that

Thanks for the suggestion jay and I've used Poweramp before and it works good. The only problem is that you're forced to use Google's "Play Music" app to play your music stored on their servers AFAIK. I guess I can just transfer some to the phone outright and use poweramp.

Have jetAudio behave like default music app

Hello !
I flashed my head unit with a recent malaysk rom (update_4_4_4_FUSE_1024X600_RK3188_16_MAL_17_03_2016) and I just discovered jetAudio which suits me as player for different reasons (prev/next SWC don't work in that app and the EQ enhances the sound like the standard EQ doesn't).
But it doesn't behave like the standard "Music" app :
- When starting up the car it doesn't resume playing automatically
- When switching to radio it doesn't automatically pause but instead lowers its volume and you can still hear your music in the background of the radio
How do I get jetAudio to behave like the "Music" would if I used it ?

I think standard music app is controlled by the MCU (If i remember rightly)
So it knows to stop playing when losing focus.
Most other music apps dont work in the same fashion as generally you want to minimize the app and keep playing.
I use JetAudio and have gotten used to the idea of pausing music before exiting and likewise pressing play on start up.
If someone can get around this with Tasker or something i'd love to know too

Has anybody a solution for this issue? "....When starting up the car it doesn't resume playing automatically"
RocketPlayer seems to do this just fine on my headunit.
