Yup.
There's a ton of us who use neither of the options in the poll
The poll should include CM7 and Honeycomb for completeness.
thanks guys fixed it.
i vote cm7
i am using cm7 nightly, hate the commercials on pandora tho....only thing good bout autonooter is the stock pandora....didnt have to change my security settings on my wireless router until i installed cm7...definitly some work throughs with cm7 but its worth gaining the knowledge!

You say that you have a "new" nook. Is it a color or tablet? They are not interchangeable, as far as roms go.

It does not matter what you have on the internal memory, stock, rooted stock, cm, or any other ROM. It still should work.

I also heard of this but i dont want to do this for now since cm9 still is complete. I do have spare sd cards so after this cm7 sd card boot, i might get started on something like this. The instructions are only a bit difficult for me but its cause im new. Anyway thanks.
nook to android
First of all I am unsure of what I am doing. I have a Nook color and want to play the Wheel of Fortune and other Android games. I paid for Wheel of Fortune, but it wouldn't download. It says my Nook is not compatible. What do I need to do?

What rom do you have installed? If its cm7 or other roms it should let you install them and play them.

how to backup before upgrading rom?

so i have a HD+ (don't think this matters) running hybrid, 4/22 10.1 build. there have been some updates to the 10.1 recently, my question is do i need to do anything to back up my current apps/settings before upgrading? will my things still be there after i update?
doesn't seem like it would be, but who knows. thanks

Just flash the new CM zip over the top of the old, all apps will remain.

Do the latest cm10.1 roms i.e 11/5 and 12/5 work with your Hybrid method? Because I thought I read somewhere in your hybrid thread that they wouldn't work

They do not. He used a different ramdisk on those and my ramdisk crashes. I am working on it, but may take a little while.

CM just announced one update to the CM 10.1 branch of code. I tried posting this in the other CM 10.1 thread, but I cannot due to my newbiness. Anyway, does anybody know if 10.1.3 RC1 will get ported to the Nook HD Ovation? Can somebody ask everygreen the awesome guy who has been doing all this stuff? I really havent made the switch to 10.2 and probably wont for quite a while. I currently run 10.1 the last one from 8/13. I wonder of 10.1.3RC has anybody better. Oh well. I hope this makes sense.

I missed the boat on 10.1.3RC1, but RC2 and eventually 10.1.3 stable should be made for our devices too.
Where should we watch for updates about when this is available? Seems all of the chatter over in the dev forum is only about CM10.2.

Would installing this new 10.1 RC from the updated in CM be wise?
Still very new to this. Just got CM put on my Nook this weekend and would hate to have to start fresh again.
I would suggest installing any RC version. They are supposed to be pretty stable and have bug fixes that you'll want (not to say that they won't have bugs of their own).

I think he's asking about updating from the CM menu. I received a notification today that RC 2 was available, will I lose all my apps and data if I update from there?

Thanks for the help!
I updated it with the internal CM updated but it kept hanging on boot and restarting so I just went ahead and did a manual install.
My Nook runs much smoother now! Hopefully it won't keep rebooting and hanging on boot as much as before.

Already running CM10.2.1 on Nook HD+ - is an upgrade to latest CM worth it?

I have been running 10.2.1 on a used Nook HD+ for the past couple of years and it really runs well in general although I am having problems looking at Vine videos sometimes. I see a post on upgrading from CM10 to CM11 without burning another SD from scratch at
ttp://forum.xda-developers.com/nook-hd/general/how-to-updating-hd-hd-internal-emmc-to-t2863171
and my question is, have other people been able to do this successfully and is the upgrade to CM11 worth it? Is this the last CM release supported on the Nook HD+ (which as we know is no longer being manufactured)?

CM11 is well worth the upgrade from CM10.x.
FWIW I am been running CM11 nightly build 11/22/15 since it first came out and am very happy with it.

No -- you can find pointers to CM12.1 and CM13 on these XDA HD/HD+ forums.
