[Q] Why is these 2 services that occupied most of network traffic? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi All,
Just installed TrafficStats Lite few yesterday, notice most of my network traffic was contributed by 2 system services. I believe it might contributes to my weak battery performance, how can I stop those?
PS: I hope this is not some virus or malware that causes the heavy traffic and result in poor battery performance.
Anyone?

Hi
i've realized the same.
And i do not understand that.
With the old Wm it was easier to handle the network traffic.
Android seems more stable but this uncontrolled traffic makes me unhappy.
Hope that somebody can help out here.

Services memory consumption growing

Hi i have a question about services memory consumption.
When I reboot phone services takes about 100Mb of ram. But as days passes that number keeps growing. sometimes it goes to 200Mb.
And I am not talking about listed services, I have no problems with those my question is regarding some not listed services.
I tried searching forums but I anc't find any info about this.
Also this happens with stock and other roms, and even with different combination of kernels.

Memory Management in Samung ROMs suck.
Is there any way to fix this? Or at least reduce the effect?

If you are rooted you could try 'Wakelock Terminator'' but you need the Xposed framework http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/index-list-xposed-modules-android-2-3-x-t2490548
Try changing the lock screen widget (settings).
Solved some battery draining here.

Absurd "com.android.gms" wakeups...

As you can see in the picture the android gms is the service that is mostly waking up the phone from sleep. Others are normal.
I've disabled sync, position and I don't know what to do to improve the situation. Damn it sucks a lot of juice! Please guys, monitorate your situation too with bbs (betterbatterystats) and post here the screenshot, and obviously, if you have some tips, tell us here, maybe we can improve battery life!

That's Google Play Services, I guess that you can try to see what intents there are inside that process and disable some "unneeded" of them, for example location service, network location etc without side effects

Less than 5 seconds on Google search without getting into trouble (here on xda and legal authorities in the Netherlands)?
Edited in order to clarify what I meant. I don't support your initial request.
I really don't want to be rude, but that's stealing...There is a lot of places in Amsterdam you gan get free Wi-Fi, so really just keep your wi-fi on and look for it...
Thread closed, please be aware that in Europe it is illegal to hack a wifi spot to get "free" access.

As nobody seems to answer I want to start a little poll.
How is your consumption when surfing?
On GSM they proclaim about 14h web browsing. With my data it comes to 6 hours, if you add the screen consumption.
Maybe some of you could take a look in the settings under Battery & Performance to see what the respective browser consumes roughly per hour. Other devices / any browser are also welcome.
Thanks a lot!
