Well after a long 3 days of waiting i FINALLY got it =)
I plan to test it with the different firmwares of the tab and post up my progress as well as the different plugins since there isn't much online about it.
Well as of other reviews yes it seems like disconnect issues, but only when i turn it on from being off (not standby) it just connects then disconnects but it eventually connects. I've had similiar issues with my headset and my car kit for media both being connected and both would get disconnected so it leads me to more that it is software related than all being hardware.
So far It stays connected, this is only from just having it in the charger and testing.. im running tasker so it will alert me if its disconnected or connected everytime soo.. so far it looks good with the JM6 firmware on the TMOBILE TAB. I will test with the latest firmware after i run all the tests im gonna make a video review with the tab as well.
I really hope this works well because this will be the perfect accessory for keeping the TAB in our pockets while receiving calls and messages.
I'm gonna wait to have it fully charged before doing extensive testing, but i have recieved calls and missed calls and txt messages and it works great as well as a contact call plugin =)
I will also be looking for alternative wrist bands, even though the original one is ok its only slightly uncomfortable because it is somewhat elastic.
12-10-10
Currently uploading 3 videos of my initial review of the first day of use, as well as a video of the custom wrist band i had put on to replace the wrist strap it originally came with, the videos are gonna take a few hours to upload since there 1080p and about 2gb's a piece and this is the second time since the first time failed uploading at some point so hopefully it will get uploaded fully or else i will have to reconvert the vids to 720p and try again later but for now here are pics of the new wrist strap i put on.
This is a wrist strap i got at a local mall , the strap cost me $35 installed and its a 24mm band but trimmed at the mounting points to 20mm to fit on liveview's wrist strap mount, there is a issue though doing this will expose the back and allows the live view to popout of the mount, im looking into how to remedy this by putting some sort of thick fabric or something behind to help prevent it from popping out.
When my videos get uploaded you will see how it pops out.
also in the pictures there is a custom zagg protector put on just the other day , got it for free so its a crappy job by zagg lol. Can't complain for free.

12-13-10 - RECONNECTION FIX TEST'S
Sooooo good news after having some issues here and there really not as bad as others with other android phones, I may have found a solution to fixing the reconnection issues, I rarely get disconnected, so I'm unsure if this fixes that issue, but the problematic issue I had was reconnecting from the liveview being off or when my bt was off as well as being disconnected, but I found a way and still testing to make sure its a viable solution to fixing the reconnection issues.
Ironically I waited the whole day waiting for a disconnect after trying the fix the first time and it seemed to work so just need further testing
12-20-10 - RAIN TEST
So a test i wasn't intending doing, happened..
Its been raining a lot in california and i was rushing it outside to get into the car and as soon as i was inside i noticed my liveview had popped out of my watch mount.. i search everywhere in the car and decide to go look out side in the rain.. well
it was in a puddle =\ fully soaked in water..
i grab it run into the car, the screen still works fine doesn't seem like theres water inside maybe a lil but it wouldn't connect to my tab. So i turn on the heater and put it on the vents and leave it there for about 10mins or so, as i do this i keep checking and still not connecting tried doing my fix for reconnection and no luck as well as restarting the tab..
Well finnally after doing my fix one last time i was able to connect, ironically the liveview was pretty hot but the screen was fine no water or anything.. so i guess the liveview can handle some rain even a puddle .. few..
Video of my reconnection fix up this week.. sorry holiday delays.
12-23-10
So i figured out how to keep the watch from popping off i'm going to post a video of what to do but basically what i did was use a piece of clear scotch tape and ran it through the opposite side of the usb charge port on the band (harder since the band can't be easily removed with how tight its attached to my watch mount) and just left enough tape to put on the live views side and some on the bottom so now the tape acts like a hinge so when i need to charge it i just lift it up without removing it from the band and i can charge it and NEVER have to worry about it popping off anymore =)

Thanks man, look forward to the updates as I'm interested in one of these too. Currently on sale at play.com in the UK for £50

UPLOADING VIDEOS NOW daym 3 parts 2gb's a piece gonna take a while to process lol.
and i did find a wrist strap that works great on the LiveView, it uses 20mm standard strait end bands, i was able to get a shop to use 24mm rubber straps and trimmed the mounting points to fit 20mm so the strap looks wider and looks great with the liveview's wristband mount.
i will have pics up later on as well as u can see the wrist band on the videos when there uploaded.

Cheers look forward to it, also will want some decent alternative straps too. My watch battery just died and it'll cost as much to send off and have done professionally (otherwise will lose water resistance in a regular shop) than to buy the LiveView for now!

Hi hope you can solve a issue. I also want use my Lv connected and working with my Samsung Tab.
I hope you can help me
thanks in advance

I am also interested in the Sony Ericsson LiveView to use with my Galaxy Tab. But did not find many information about it and especially in combination with the Galaxy Tab.
I am very interested in your findings!

UPDATED FIRST POST
still uploading the videos but updated with pics of the wrist straps if anybody has questions or would like me to test something pls let me know, i still need to do more tests since its only been a day since i got it to see if this is ok for daily use.

what issues are you having? i know there are common issues with disconnects but from my experience keeping ur memory about 50mb's seem to be working for me, i always use advance task killer and fast reboot pro with the live view and plugins exluded to keep everything in top shape, i will post up the apps im running as well as services in my daily testing.

yup thats the reason i did this, i found one but they only showed a pic of the galaxy tab with it but not actual tests along side it.

UPDATED first post with my the link to the first part of my video review!

A Sony MBW-150 Watch will also work with the Tab, one has to use a software called Openwatch that can be found on the Market.

my issues
Hi nice video (and nice home page in your TAB!!!, is it a wallapear or application?)
I have some issues with my tab as you can read in many blgs on the net.
It seems works well but avery 15-20 minutes ( refreshing time I think) it will crash!!! you can't do nothing... a tab start to vibrate... it is very, very slow.... you can't use task killer (it too slow) and you MUST restart it!!! no alternatives ways!!!
reading an blog we are waiting some patch from SE... maybe.
Mow I use a LV just like a clock!!!
Any idea? ( i will waiting your video)

yeah i'm aware of that, just didn't like the 2 line display on them as well as pretty expensive for the nicer designs.

Thx, the homescreen is just launcher pro with a simple background and i just have different widgets for easy access i tend to clutter my screens a lot so i can get to things with a single press.
I really recommend to check what apps you have running in the background and see if it runs better with certain apps uninstalled or forced closed, i know there is a issue with sony ericssons part but with my recent tests i do have disconnect issues even with freed memory but not as much as when i run out of memory so when i leave it sitting alone i don't get disconnect issues for a few hours , it seems ok to me for now until i run into a time when i need to know whos calling and its disconnected and i have to pull out the tab.. i'm hoping thats not gonna happen but time will tell and further testing.. i really feel that the sony liveview app is to blame for a lot of the issues.
seriously check on the app "quick reboot" try the free version and see what happens the pro one i paid for so i could exclude the live view and its plugins from restarting, but when live view is acting up i use the free version that will restart all the apps right away.. so two icons on my screen to easily remedy the connection issues. I will still have to run tests to see if i can recreate the problems and fixes.

I think is the best review as I saw for LV... clear, dettailed and real!!!
I tried to use your suggestion to understand why my issue happend, I installed KILLER APP and I monitoring ALL apps background running; LAST problem came when was running: liveview, GMAIL, sportypal...no more apps. I can't stop just a LV apps.
Can you understand why?

Any progress on this issue?

sony Ericsson answer me about my issue
"Dear ,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson support centre.
We are sorry to hear of the issues you have experienced using your Sony Ericsson LiveView with your Galaxy Tab.
We can confirm that to our knowledge the Sony Ericsson LiveView has been fully tested with your Galaxy Tab on the Android 2.2. If either your device itself or the handset is freezing when being used we can confirm this is not functioning correctly.
If you have attempted the reset and this has not resolved the issue then we would suggest you return your product to your point of sale under theirs returns policy; as it sounds like the device is faulty.
We apologise for any confusion or inconvenience caused.
Kind Regards,
Darren Sibbald

any idea?

Where did you find the "phone connected/disconnected" audio file?

anyone knows how to find a screen protector for live view?

Sony liveview

Anyone got the Sony liveview? I ordered it from play.com but its not arrived yet will post my comments here

No not yet i will get one after crimbo
What i do have is a Sony bluetooth watch same as a liveview as such and it works very well on the streak
Give us a few pics and a write up when it arrives if you don't mind
I have one
I got mine from Expansys, and how shall I say it?
So far, I am incredibly underwhelmed with it. It is not a finished product, in my opinion. The software you load on your android device is a resource HOG, and the performance is poor. It causes freezes for me, and the design is terrible.
For example, with the wrist strap they include, which makes it only marginally passable as a watch, you have to remove the pin for the band just to charge it. Just minor things like that which make it annoying.
I haven't found a way to get alerts in real-time on the screen like I could with my Sony MBW-150 watch. You have to activate the screen on the liveview to see text messages, etc.
Unless I am missing something, I think you would do well to avoid this. I was really excited for it to arrive, now I find myself wishing I could return it. My only hope now is that SE gets their act together and finished a product that wasn't even ready for release. However, I am not holding my breath...
Hope that helps!
-Rob
Some question:
1. Does the watch alert me instantly if gmail email, sms, call arrives?
2. Can I read my gmail emails on the watch?
if yes, this email marks as read after reading on the PDA?
3. When more emails come, is there any repeated aalert functon?
4. What about the battery usage of the app?
5. Is there any widget?

I have received the LiveView via an Australian online reseller, and although it can pair with my Archos 70 running Android 2.2, I can't find the LiveView application in Market. I have searched for about a week using different versions of the name -- it doesn't show up at all. I have found and downloaded the plugins for Gmail, etc. but all useless unless I have the main app. Even when I use the LiveWare Manager and it asks me to download LiveView from Market it still can't find it. I live is Australia, so is this a location issue? Can someone help me out here? Can this app be sideloaded from somewhere else? The LiveView is pretty useless without it...

New firmware update in January might help you out?
http://www.engadget.com/2010/12/22/sony-ericsson-liveview-getting-much-needed-january-update/
Crikey maybe mine getting lost in the post was a god send. Might tryagain if they are in the sale

it's easy to get.
Andrew de Quincey has some technical details on the LiveView (You'll have to Google his name as I'm too new to post links).
According to him, the protocol is pretty simple, so tossing the original Sony implementation into the garbage and starting over shouldn't be too hard. Then again, this is a guy who figured out how to write Kindlets without the KDK
liveview
i currently own a liveview with the update they did back in January. so far works perfectly no disconnect issues and real time updates very handy gadget has saved me from fumbling for my phone so many times
Well I got one.......eventually!....damn you play.com
Well its not too bad....some details
@Size - its quite thick and would be better if it was thinner. But not so thick its a problem/eyesore.
@strap - is an elasticated black Velcro affair. Not that sturdy but ok. Ibam looking to replace the strap with something wider and more robust/stylish. Negative is that the liveview can pop out of its holder if bashed hard enough. It doesnt need to be that hard. The problem is thst you can lose it this way. Mist times I dropped it it stayed in the sleave of my coat Alternatively there is a clip.
@operation - pretty simple.
Turn it on. Pair with phone. Then connect with liveview app on phone. Go into settings to connect twitter/facebook/plugins etc.
Notifications vibrate on your wrist.
To look at notifications then press button twice (First press gives you the time). To scroll press the outer part of the display. Not great way to navigate but it works. Buttons would prob be better.
@connectivity - the update has improved connectivity significantly. Before it was pretty much unusable. It still loses connection every now and again but at a managabke level.(although I have noticed djsteve rom 1.7 onwards has made it worse.
@battery life - since the update I get a days life, often more. It depends on how many disconnects you get. However the battery level indicator needs some work, it shows full when it isn't and the only time it doesn't show full is when it shows 3/4 which indicate its almost out of charge.
@screen and menu - this is not so great. The icons don't fill out the screen. They look washed out in appearance.
@general - i bought this not expecting too much, but as an investment in something that will improve on the next generation. In its current incarnation is ok, and I certainly don't regret buying it and when its connected I find its notifications very useful. I also use it as a watch, so for £50 its not a bad accessory.

Thus isn't true. To charge you just pop the watch out of the strap then plug in the charger. However this is the one design fault that means many of these will get lost.
Sent from my Dell Streak using Tapatalk
I broke down and ordered one using a some Amazon gift card $$$ I had. The TL;DR is: Cool concept, so-so implementation, wouldn't buy it again at more than $40.
What really ticked me off was that the official LiveView Facebook plugin asks for a boatload more rights to your account than it really needs. IIRC, it wants the ability to write to your wall and read your data any time. There's a Gmail plugin, but it's third party and I'm not sure I really want to put my Gmail credentials into something provided by an unknown third party.
I must say.. trust SE to come up with such crap.. don't get me wrong.. I think their devices are good to decent.. however Liveview is just HORRIBLE.. bluetooth dc almost every few hours and doesn't get reconnected back.. Make is kinda plasticky and the frame holder is not tight enough. I believe a normal knock on a busy subway would detach the device. I only used it for less then 2 weeks and I gave up on it.. its still in my drawer rotting away coz i dun even think its right to sell it off to anyone.
If you want a good watch for ID or alert purposes, I would say SE MBW-150 is the best.. only thing now is if you can find it.. I wouldn't recommend any second hand for this unless you can check on it physically prior to purchase.. make sure the LCD is still bright.. I'm on the second MBW-150.. LCD on the first one already dimed out till unreadable after more than a year.
I'm currently also on another inPulse watch. Got it for few weeks now. Its not great but I'd say it has potential.. they just gotta make the battery life better and have better QC.. my first set was way faulty but at least support was prompt and they got me a good replacement.

[Q] HTC One strange G-Sensor problem

Good afternoon,
I am having the strangest problem with my HTC One: I ride a Buell 1125r (the 'muscle car' of motorcycles) and when I am riding I like to listen to music through headphones. The odd problem is that when accelerating, especially when putting on a large burst of speed, it causes the music player (Google Play Music) to skip to the next song...and the next...and the next...and the next...etc. Something interesting is that if I immediately drop acceleration, sometimes it will stop skipping and play the song it landed on. If I keep going at the speed I achieved (sometimes as low as 50 mph), I can stop at a stoplight and watch the cover art flick by over and over; it doesn't stop skipping for several minutes. I try shaking the device when stationary to see if it is some sort of shake to shuffle, but nothing happens.
WTF...? Please help...tearing hair out...

That's quite strange indeed. I'll try this too next morning. If I also get the same error, maybe we will be able to fix it. Otherwise you might have to go to the HTC support.

Ok, I just wanted to know that in case of a return.
- Does this error also occure when you accelerate your phone when holding it in your hands? (not the classic shake you mentioned, for example making a circle in the air)
- In what position related to the ground do you have your phone when accelerating?
- How fast do you accelerate? Can you say it in m/s² ? Or you can also say how long you need to accelerate to 50mph or other speeds.
- I quickly want to calculate what acceleration your phone has to bear.
- What would be interesting. When you are on a constant speed of 50mph, do you also have this error after several minutes?

- What would be interesting. When you are on a constant speed of 50mph, do you also have this error after several minutes?

- I don't know...I don't make a habit of riding with my phone in hand, much less laying rubber...I did try spinning in a circle and did not get that result. It was fast enough to make my hand tingle and flush.
- In jeans pocket so basically diagonal like a playing card on it's corner.
- 0-60 in 2.8 fastest but occurs at everything down to about 6 sec so about 9.6m/s² to 4.5m/s²?
- cool!
- Yes. Like I mentioned, the skipping continues until the speed is decreased.

- ok... even more strange.
- ok... that's a legit position
- the phone is accelerated at maximum with 13.8 m/s² this is about 1.4 times the earth acceleration. Here the calculation that you can see it a bit better:

And this acceleration doesn't seem to be too extreme
- Ok... even MORE strange^^ Because if you are on a constant speed the phone doesn't experience acceleration. Some basic physic laws. It's the way it is, to change speed or direction there has to be a force. And if there is a force there is also an acceleration But you know this I think!
So maybe it has to do something with GPS? But this wouldn't explane the fact that it keeps spinning around when you stay still.
If you've got the time to do that, make a backup and make a clean reinstall of your ROM and try it out again.

I can try that, but it did this when I was on stock firmware too. As I mentioned before, the G-Sensor does work properly everywhere else...but it occurred to me that it may be a side effect of a magnetic field generated by the bike instead? That would explain the continued disruption at constant speed. But what would the field be affecting? the G-Sensor? The capacitive touch? Something else?
It should be noted that it has never done this in my car. of course that thing is a little Mazda M3 and doesn't have even half the acceleration as my bike...

A magnetic field. Maybe... use a accelometer sensor logger during your next ride on your bike. And send the data to me... or look for some kind of "unexpected behaviour"
And this idea with the magnetic field. You would have to ask at the shop where you bought the bike if it emmits some kind of electromagnetic radiation. But this also shouldn't cause issues.
And because you did already try it on stock. Don't try it again. It most likely won't work.
P.S.
Sry, I won't answer today anymore. GTM +1

I parsed them into excel using csv format mode. Check out sheet two for a graph. the orange line (labeled sum) is the sum of the x,y and z readings' absolute values. there's some very interesting data in the magnetometer file. anytime I really hammered down on the gas, the magnetic field shot up. Beyond 100 in a spot or two in sum!

ok, I think the accelometer looks ok. but the magnetic field is indeed very strange. Today I tested it too.. but there was no special effect to the magnetic field.
Maybe ask your bike vendor if the bike emmits electromagnetic radiation. If yes, it's totally ok that your magnetometer on your phone mesures this. If not, there might be another reason.
But sorry, I can't give you more informations or ideas. But if I think about something possible I'll notify you.

Sorry, I checked your accelometer graph again. You calculated the sum the wrong way. The actual way to calculate it is:
sum = √(a₁² + a₂² + a₃²)
And with that you get this graph:
Interesting update: with no headphones plugged in, the skipping does not occur. I started a playlist through the built in speakers and after a very fast drive it was on track to the second.
I'm guessing the magnetic field generated by the alternator is causing induction feedback in the headphone wires. Otherwise I'm stumped.

why didn't you mention or quote me? I would have been able to answer... but I didn't get any notification. Yes.. maybe, because this graph was quite strange. You can make an isolation with another magnetic field that compensates these fluctiations.
i am so glad i found this post. i just got my one and am having the exact same problem. i even have htc sending me a new pair of headphones. i was going to try using my old s3 headphones but the one wont even recognize them when i plug them in.
i have to say, all your graphs and math is way to much for me. all i know is my phone hates my motorcycle. whats really weird is, i can make it on the streets to the fwy. its once i get on the fwy that things go all skippy.
did you ever find a solution?

I didn't get a notification about this post. Solution is to use almost any other headphones for anyone else having this problem. The Beats buds that shipped with the m7 Beats model have flat wires which as a general rule are much more susceptible to electrostatic interference.

[Discussion] Do you like your Gear Live?

Thoughts on it, display in sunlight, battery life, handling of notifications, look/feel of it on your wrist..... basically anything to do with the watch!
i like it. granted that its a new class of its own, i still get confused especially when i get multiple notifications on an app (ie hangouts). its confusing where the group text starts or if im still being shown a private text..
the screen is kinda hard to read in direct sunlight but tilting it a bit or using a different watch face helps.
i like the feel of it.. i preferred this over the g watch coz of the added feature and the look.
I really like it; however, screen is difficult to see in sunlight at times; screen is also a smudge magnet which adds to difficulties in seeing the display outdoors.
Love it - compared to the sony smartwatch and the Galaxy Gear it really has great improvements. Only Day 2, but my initial thoughts:
Pros
- Look/feel - it is little large (I don't have big wrists) but still stylish.
- Screen: awesome that the clock is always on, this was my biggest gripe about the Gear
- Usefulness: I've spent time training Google Now, and that's really paid off. Notifications mean i take my phone out of my pocket a lot less, and Google Now surfaces reminders and other useful info pretty well (although you don't have a lot of control over the order of notifications etc). The fact that it syncs dismissed notifications on the phone immediately is, in a word, awesome
- Apps: early days yet on this, but most big apps I'm sure will integrate so you can do the key features easily
- Voice recognition works great so far
Cons
- No speaker means if you want to do stuff without looking at the screen with your voice, it's harder. But seems like something I can live with
- Charging dongle is kinda annoying to fit on, and have to remember to travel with
- Starting an app (say Fit) takes a few too many swipes (if you're in a place where you don't want to be speaking to your wrist...)
A lot of the other potential "cons" like not many watch face designs, no feature to locate your phone (I know there's an app for this though) I reckon will play out over time and Google can fix pretty quickly...

Take a look at this one for that: Wear Aware
i'm pleasantly surprised with how much i'm enjoying it.
my first full day with it will be tomorrow so i haven't taken it outside in the sunlight much yet, but checking email, counting steps, reading and replying to texts (i use evolve and it works great) is great and much more reliable and smoother than it was on my OG gear, and it's proving to be far more useful than my pebble.
the strap is actually quite comfortable and i'm glad i didn't buy a new strap before getting the watch.
the charging cradle, if you put it on tab side first it snaps in much easier. it's annoying but i haven't found it to be the spawn of lucifer as some people were screaming about it. treat it like part of a $200 gadget and it will be fine. mash it on like the hulk and it's going to break, it is plastic tabs after all.
i used it for about 7 hours today and it's now around 65% remaining. moderate use, but i def was clicking and swiping for no reason since it's new as well. i am pretty sure i'll have to charge it every night, but i don't sleep with a watch on and i charge my phone every night too, so i don't see it as being a big issue. my pebble lasted longer, but it would often die since i didn't have a set pattern on when to charge and would head out and a few hours later realize i had 20% left.
so in short, i'm happy, yes there are growing pains but those are the early adopter blues.
So far very please for what it can do. Regarding bot visible in sunlight, tell me what phone is visible in sunlight. None of them are great, only the kinfpdle due to the ink screen it has. I can wait till indoors or in shade. 9 more days testing and then deciding to keep or not. Off charging cradle at 6:30am today and as of this post still has 34% left. About the same as my previous Gear watch.

The number of apps pouring in each day are a great sign for the platform as a whole. The Tizen gears were nothing like this.
Quick reply.... I like it. Had Nero, no comparison.
I've had a few issues and design factors that I'd like changed:
Hate the alarm mute icon. I would love to figure out a way to hide that on the clock face. Would make the watch look more watchie if you will.
Also would like to only wake the watch from the button vice touchscreen, or atleast an option to set that insettings.

This really made me LOL
I'll be the lone wolf in the wilderness by bucking the trend and saying that I'm very disappointed with my Gear Live. I'm a gadget lover and really wanted to love this device. But I was far more enthusiastic about this thing before I actually received it. Once I had one, I quickly grew disappointed with it.
Out of the box, pairing with my Nexus 5 took multiple attempts. Once I finally did get it paired, only the stock apps would work. Any apps that I downloaded from the Play store would run on my phone but the watch interface would never show up (no matter how many times I tried to force the apps to sync via the Android Wear app or rebooted the watch).
Factory resetting the watch and starting again cleared up that problem but I still found the functionality of the watch to be quirky at best. Add to that the fact that the screen is virtually impossible to read outdoors, the lack of support for continuous heart rate monitoring, and the sudden dramatic drop in my Nexus 5's battery life (which cleared up after I uninstalled the Android Wear app).
Bottom line for me is that this isn't ready to replace my old fashioned watch. So until I read about some new killer Wear app that I can't live without, the Gear Live had gone back into its box to be stored away. I'm hoping that the software will mature quickly to a point where I can give it another try.
Does gear live suport sleep monitoring? Can it automatically figure out that user is cycling?
How good is the fitness tracking on it?

Common Issues with Z3C

Please mention all the common issues found in this device (both Hardware and Software level)
So far I have gathered one issue mainly
- The USB/SD Card flap gets loosen or does not properly close.
Some units may have excessive gap between the glass and the frame, either top or bottom.

Ive got two things where im not sure if that are real Problems or just a question of settings.
First one is that voice from the other part is not really loud, even on the highest setting, during a phone call.
The other one is the battery time. I dont get such high results like 2 days from the tests on different websites. I only got one day with moderate usage.

I'd assume that more than 90% of units have no major issues. The misleading thing is that, in communities like these, people with faulty units are far more represented than people who are satisfied.
Honestly, I didn't really use it,it kept all the plastic films on etc. It's not that I'm not going to get one if it proves reliable more that I'm quite unlucky with phones generally!
I will keep looking in here tho and will likely getting a red/orange one again in a few weeks....

I suggest you just get a silicone cover or something, to protect it. A wrist lanyard also helps a lot. And to increase your chance of getting a Z3C from a more recent production batch, you can keep an eye on a web shop and order a Z3C after the stock runs out and is restocked.
Camera Button
Is the Z3c hardware camera button designed to require a fairly lengthy press to activate? I'm guessing that maybe it's a design built in to perhaps avoid accidental pocket presses, but I'm not sure.
Just a quick tap does not activate it on mine, but it works fine with a slightly longer press.

Mine too, also there seems to be a 2-step press for it, as on a regular camera (half hold down to focus). Half pressing doesn't start it.
Have had to mess with settings to turn off the quick launch which was set to launch and capture as I have so many pics of either a finger or blackness!

On mine the sound is pretty loud through the mic, so much so that I thought the loudspeaker was on! Conversely though the actual loudspeaker doesn't seem that loud! Go figure!
For the battery I think you would only get 2 days with the Stamina settings active. I manage to get down to about 25% on a full day of regular usage (in office etc). The Stamina / Ultra stamina modes seem to just disable pretty much everything on the phone. OK if you need to keep it powered on but no good for regular usage. I've ended up turning stamina mode on and then re-enabling Wifi, seems to improve life quite a bit for the times I have been hammering it!

Always been the case since the Treo days, lol. People will look and see all these problems, but they are random people, that really only for the most part show up here to resolve "issues". While it is a great thing for folks looking for corrections, it does appear bad on the surface if you don't really understand the dynamic at play on boards like these.

I'm currently on my third unit within 7 days. My Internet connection seems to hang about 2 or 3 times a day, and until I try to use the Internet Is don't realise. I've only had that once, last Fri however it is a bit weird, here's how mine manifested itself:
- Work most of the day in an office, good wifi connection. Don't use the phone much but see that it is working OK, getting emails, fb updates etc. Can browse the internet via Chrome
- Left the office and try to do a search. Using Google search from the home screen the results showed up very quickly but then when I tried to open any of those links in chrome it would just say no network or something similar. Tried shutting down chrome, clearing cache and data but made no difference.
The weird thing here is that the 4g / mobile data connection WAS working, but the issue was with Chrome.
I'm still stock, not likely to change that but since Chrome is now an intrinsic part of the Xperia build how do you uninstall / reinstall? Or do I end up installing another browser?
Chrome has done this to me on Z3 Compact and a few times on my previous Xperia ZR. Just close the browser from the multi-app right button by flicking it to the side, then try again. If it gets too tedious, install another browser.

I think it's the same pb for me... "Z3 Compact" bought the 28.09.2014. The phone is turned off itself in the middle of the day in my pocket. The battery level was approx. 75% => Black screen, not even light on the charger...:S The Sony support told me to send them with charger and usb cable. I am waiting for news... approx. 10 days...

Yikes. I bought this on Friday and I play PUBG (main reason for buying this phone actually) and I frequently get phones during game play. Really nervous about this phone. I’m hoping that the phone is mostly good. You don’t usually hear the good points nearly as often or as loudly as the negatives. You should hear me witch about the ROG2 and it’s lack of VoLTE. lol

SOULTION FOUND 100% WORKING TESTED THANK ME LATER
NOT A SOFTWARE ISSUE
A TECHNICAL CONSTRUCTION FAULT
as mentioned before by someone, the touch issue comes with charge collection over the back of the phone steel case as we continue to move fingers.
this can be fixed by opening the phone by yourself YES YOU HAVE TO OPEN IT
refer to JERRY RIG EVERYTHING YOUTUBE VIDEO how to open RED MAGIC 3
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JiS24PRIq-A
bottom 2 screws open em, then apply pressure nera voulme buttons to separate the back case from main frame+display. there is no glue so chill its really easy no heatgun required.
NOW DISCONNECT THE 2 RIBBON CABLES FOLLOW JERRY RIGs instructions
NOW THE REPAIR PART
SO the issue is caused by the aluminium foli covering the bus moving from right trigger to central bus connection on the back cover.
it shot circuits with the cover near the touch button and collects charge slowly and randomly deposits it via induction interfering wiht the signals travelling in the bus randomly.
if you see the bus coming from left trigger has no such aluminium foil covering it
CHECK THE LEFT TRIGGER IT HAS NO BUS.
SIMPLE JUST REMOVE THE FOIL COVERING THE BUS carefully starting from left then moving towards right trigger and when it reaches the trigger there are a few thin end tags of the foil which surrounds the touch shouder button. use a soft pin to clear the area with ease.
THATS IT
CONNECT BACK 2 BUS
PUT THE main frame mother board PHONE BACK IN ITS CASE
TIGHTEN THE SCREWS AT BOTTOM
restart phone for proper Finger print working
and now you can focus and work on that KD and Conqueror ....
WINNER WINNER CHICKEN DINNER add me

Hi! I had the same problem with right trigger. I have tried that fix removing aluminium tape. This doesn't help! It cause another problem. Now, when I do a little more pressure touch to screen it will activate that trigger. (Like using 3d iphone touch)... For me, I have found solution... The problem with right trigger was in faulty headphones... It sound crazy. However, believe me... Just try to change your headphones. Thanks me later
