Invisible shield for galaxy tab - Galaxy Tab Accessories

I see there are 2 options from zagg for body protection.
Easy and maximum. Any opinions on one vs the other?
I cant find any actual pics online.
Sent from my SGH-T849 using Tapatalk

Easy is just the back panel and screen, maximum also has pieces for the sides/top/bottom.

I installed the full one in my tab and I had to remove it. Hard to install and in my opinion makes the screen sensitivity be a little worse.

Ok I ordered maximum protection.
We will see, I dont like the videos of the iphone install it seemes like you really get the thing soaking wet, but I need somethinf that protects the plastic from getting any more scratches. I have purchased 2 other cases and returned them because I could not fit the tab in my pocket with the case.
Im using a cheap tmobile matte screen protector, and I really dont like it. The high gloss screen by its self is sooooo nice.

I installed the full coverage Invisible Shield on my Tab. The front and back pieces were tough to align. Other than that it works as advertised.

Didn't much like the invisiSHIELD. I got the full coverage too. Unfortunately the back film makes it impossible to easily slip the tab into the HDMI dock. I presume the same for any other dock.
The problem is not the clearance but the tacky/rubbery effect the invisiSHIELD has. You can still dock it but it's a bit of a wiggle which honestly looks like it will soon damage the dock and/or tab.
The front film doesn't interfere but has the same problem as other invisiSHIELD's ie; the "orange peel" effect. Which is to say a slight ripple all over the film. I suspect this can be reduced if extra care is taken during application but for all my trying I couldn't get it to be close to acceptable.
I've used other screen protectors on my desire like the ones included with the covers. IMO if applied correctly you can't even tell they're there. Most of them also have decent scratch protection.
Sadly I don't think you'll get protectors/film for the back that don't interfere with the dock as the tab is curved. The non stretchy/tacky types probably wouldn't conform well to the tabs curved back.
I would love to know any one finds a protector for the back that plays nice with the HDMI dock

Invisible Shield

Not sure if everyone is aware of this yet so I thought I'd share it with you all.
Invisible Shield from Zaggs is available for our Streaks. I've already placed my order and should be in sometime this week. I'll let you all know how it looks and maybe some pics.
I have one of these already. I like the fact it makes the Streak more grippy but was a but disappointed that there isn't protection for any of the corners or edges. I keep meaning to take pics... The pieces are a pretty good fit; much better than the first screen protector bought off ebay
I wasn't sure how it would make the screen feel but actually it's ok and is as responsive as ever.

Pics of Full Body Easy Install (Zagg Invisible Shield)
Hi all
Have managed (just about)to take some pics of the Invisible Shield. As mentioned above, this is the Full Body Easy Install shield from Zagg. I bought it from the US, although it shipped in the UK from Manchester.
Hopefully you can see where it's a little short in places (less than 1mm but still noticeable to me), especially on the back plate and the front end with the buttons.
It comes in 6 pieces- 3 front, 3 back; none of which cover the corners or edges of the Streak.
It was easy enough to install (though a bit messy. In my defence, it was first time ) and the major benefit, other than protecting the bits it covers is that it makes the whole device less slippery. Works fine on the screen and I haven't noticed any difference in sensitivity because of it.
Do you know if ship in italy?
Thanks for the pics and the write up
Looks like you need the Full Body MAXIMUM protection to get the corners.
Keep in mind these screen protectors make the screens very 'sticky'. aka hard to use.
I ordered the Maximum protection and just waiting on its arrival sometime tomorrow or early next week. I'll post pics if it helps. Should be a total body protection.
I agree with Samstables, it will make it sticky which should be an added bonus.
Although, I just received my FormFit case which will be going over the invisible shield.
I just installed the maximum protection kit and it went on very easy. does make the phone feel a little sticky ( but thats better then slipery).
for these invisible shield things, i usually get the full kit for the body for grip and protection and use one of those cheap ebay screen protectors for the screen. downside is, it costs slightly more. i wish they would sell just the body and not the screen.
i've applied invisibleSHIELD protectors to almost all my previous devices but i dont think i'm going to with this one, atleast not for the screen. I've grown sick of the stickyness aka "orange peel effect". Your fingers don't slide well on the device. It helps for the back of the device cuz you can put it on your dashboard and it won't slide off that easily.
I'm currently thinking of going with di noc carbon fiber or do what untrueparadox did. Only apply the back and another screen protector.

Has it covered your corners and edges? Is it a good fit? pics please
Question for you guys who have installed this (or plan to); if there is ever a need to remove the shield, are you guys worried that it may take some of the lettering off with it? I guess for the Streak, the only lettering would be the "5.0 megapixel autofocus" near the rear camera.

Part of the instructions provided is how to properly remove the skin should you need to. I've had to remove a skin only once and it came off without any cause for concern.

I ordered a Zagg shield (screen only) before I even got my Streak- at first it did feel a bit sticky to the touch, but now after it has been worn in a bit I've no issues. I do have minor imperfections in the screen protector, they can be a real pain to apply perfectly, but they are hardly noticeable and an acceptable price for the added peace of mind.

Best screen protector?

As the title suggest.
Any one recommend a good screen protector for the tab?
I'm waiting for this one...
http://www.amazon.com/Skinomi-TechS...YS/ref=rsl_mainw_dpl?ie=UTF8&m=A127GCSIQ9QZ6G
When I was looking, I simply paid attention to the holes made for the light sensor and camera on the front. Found an inexpensive protector on Amazon that fit my criteria of quality workmanship in that regard and went for it.
I dug around on ebay for quite a while and it seems there are some nice ones available there also, but the better ones seem to ship from hong kong, which was an issue for me because I want mine protected from day one.
I just popped in to CPW and they now have the invi-sheild, However at £15 I will not be getting that one.
Gonna have a look around on play.com, amazon.co.uk and so on...
I just received the cheap silicon skin I ordered for my Galaxy Tab. It's just great for my usage pattern, it adds protection, grip, and doesn't increase the footprint of the tablet form factor. Back to topic:
The screen protector that came with the silicon skin (as part of a bundle) is really cheap, both in price and quality ! It arrived with marks on it, and it adds a foggy layer on top of the otherwise beautiful glass screen of the Tab.
Conclusion: in my opinion, and based on the glass technology used to manufacture the Tab display, a screen protector is totally unnecessary ! A much better use of money is to get a decent skin to protect the plastic parts of the tablet.

I gotta agree... Gorilla glass used in the Tab is supposed to be really hard to scratch... but if there is a good protector out there, I would use it anyway... but the back was what I was more afraid of. Being plastic and curved slightly, I foresee the back getting a large worn out mark in the center very easily. I would rather not use a Silicone case if I could, Hence the front and back protector set I posted in post 2.... or one of those other full body screen protectors...
For now, I am really careful how I lay down my Tab...

I actually never removed the factory transparent plastic sheet on the back, to protect the white shiny surface against scratches !
It is still there, even though I now use the silicon skin all the time. On the rare occasion when I remove the rubbery skin that protects against sharp knocks, the plastic cover is still there to avoid a bad accidental scratch.
As for the display, it is plenty strong enough, unlikely to be scratched by regular activities and associated risks (like keys in pocket, small bangs against furniture when carried in jacket sleeve, etc). The plastic body is likely to be the weak point in the device, not the tough glass.
mklass mentioned the Invisible Shield range of protectors.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any other brand that was as tough without having the same horrible tacky finish to it.
Don't buy the screen protector from Vikuiti Displayschutzfolie DQC160, because after that you can't use the buttons. There is no way!!!
I like FoliX FX-Antireflex screen protector Samsung Galaxy Tab which you can get by amazon.
I got the antiglare screen protector from tmobile when I bought mine.
It covers the whole front and had a cutout for the front facing camera.
Used modified Ipad screen protector for the front and maintained the sticky stock plastic for the back.

i dont know any good screen protectors but for the back i love my SKINITs from skinit.com
the skinit uses a 3m high end sticker i have one on my evo and i put that thing thru hell yeah the back is scratched but its the sticker not the phone
Agreed I will likely use the skinit as well as I used in on my instinct, moment, will use on my epic probably and will use on my tab once I pick one up!
online Zagg.com 50% discount code
I just ordered my Sam. Gal. Tab skin from zagg because of a 50% discount code they sent me for site-wide products on ZAGG.com. You can use the discount code one time during checkout before November 26th, 2010. Your discount code is good for up to 3 more items only and I am assuming it's available to anyone not just past customers like myself. Hope this helps you and the Code is: cn3jnpz44
I picked up the Zagg full-body kit from my local Futureshop (big box retailer, owned by Best Buy). Was pricey at $39 CAD (a bit more than I'd pay after shipping from Zagg in the US).
I bought it for the back protection more than anything else, and more grip on the back. For that, it works great, there's a LOT of friction from this thing, to the point where it almost won't budge when I try to push it on a marble counter top. It's a bit more glossy than I'd like, hoping that fades once it fully dries.
After a few months with my Galaxy S, the only thing that looks worn is the plastic back, didn't want the same thing to happen to the Tab, which is much heavier and more likely to grind little bits of dirt into the plastic. Samsung knows glass, they don't do so well with picking quality plastics.
The screen protector sheet isn't going to be used at all, since I HATE the snatchy feel of InvisibleShield on a capacitive screen, and the little ripples that never go away, and this one is no different. Once again, after months of use, my Gorilla-glassed Galaxy S screen still looks like new, (as did my Milestone with the same type of glass), expect the same from the Tab.
Actually, I'm sure I will use the front protector...it'll be cut up and used to protect the back of something smaller.
Try Martin Fields. . . I have been using them for all my devices. Works great on the touchscreen of my HD2, iPod Touch 2g. . . No problem with the touch sensitivity, they are fantastically bright (not crap like invisible skin which turns yellow with age and starts peeling) and actually provides a better and smoother surface for the finger to glide on the touchscreen. Gonna order one for my brand new tab today (purchased tge tab only yesterday and immediatelly rooted it)B-)

I have the Zagg, and am happy with it. I had best buy install it, and had to go twice because the first time it sucked. The second was much better, and I am satisfied. The lifetime guarantee is a good thing.
I just ordered a Realook protector for my Tab as that's what I currently have on my Galaxy S and, aside from the slightly off-centre speaker hole (my fault), you can't even tell it's there. Pretty sturdy, too, the phone gets lots of pocket-time and it's not beat up at all.

Screen protector that actually covers the entire screen?

Can anyone recommend a high quality screen protector that covers the entire screen?
Spigen's 2-3 mm gap on each side is NOT the same as covering the entire screen.
Can someone comment on Zagg?
I don't think any of them go right to the edge, because the glass is not perfectly flat.
It is slightly rounded off toward the edges.

I heard from a manager of Realook that it will be launching a soft protective film that provides 100% convex screen cover for the SGN II. I will post a review and some pics once I have mine covered. I am told that he will be getting the supply within a few weeks.

Will the S pen leave marks on these soft ones?
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I have the zagg "smudge proof" and it doesn't scratch or leave marks with the s pen. Also has absolutely no rubbery feel, orange peel effect or sticky feel. My finger glides better across it then the glass itself and is actually FULL screen. It is a wet apply but I didn't have any issues at all. (Normally I hate zagg for the rubbery orange peal crap but this one is great)
I bought it from best buy just fyi.

is pretty darn close to the edge on mine and fits well around the top speaker and camera hole, although it is just a straight cut out not invididual holes for everything but for $4 shipped seems I have no complaints compared to the zaggHD or skinomi I had on my GS3. Stylus is not leaving imprints but I have only been playing with it for about 7 hours so far

Moshi IVisor Anti fingerprint, Anti Smudge Screen protector is available on the AT&T website. It fit edge to edge on my original Note (of course i was using one made for the OG Note) and im going to order this one for my Note 2. It was thick (not too think) and really resilient. And i really likes the schnazzy black coloring around the buttons Although on the website it says it will ship within 14 business days but is available to order. I dont know if that means it's on backorder or what but, im going to give it a try anyway. Its totally worth the money. I had it on my OG Note for 6 months and after countless use of finger, spen, drops, and rough encounters with sharp edges, it lasted through and through. I even was able to remove it, wash it, and reapply it no problems.

I am currently trying this one now,
http://www.bodyguardz.com/screenguardz-samsung-galaxy-note-2-cases-screen-protectors-covers-shields-skins-films.html
it covers the entire screen but jury is still out on how good it is. They say it takes 72 hours to fully cure (gel application) but in all honestly, it feels a bit soft.
Those wet application protectors don't play well with the S-pen.
Has anyone tried the liquid armor from dynaflo?

i'm not a materials expert but i think screen protectors will only prevent scratches, not cracks. ( i think someone explained the difference between hardness and toughness in a different thread)
anyway, the forum favorites are spigen, and a new one called just like glass. search for em, plenty of threads talk about them.
if you want crack protection, what you're hunting for is a good case...and considering your history, i'd say go for the otterbox defender.
seen the threads on them... right now the JLG looks good
my main problem is what type to buy, not the brand (also an issue but lesser one)
DRY vs WET vs GLASS, thats the issue
as for cracks... never killed a screen (S1, S2 , Note1...) but i see people who does and also as i see it the new gorilla 2 glass is... well... not that good
Mode of installation doesn't really tell you much about the screen protector.
Zagg/bse/ghost armor/etc are all wet install, just like jlg but they are completely different categories of screen protector.
swyped all these spelling errors from my galaxy note 2
Go with JLG. No problem with the spen and it dont feel like rubber on your finger. The only thing is the rainbow effect but it just happen for me with the screen off.
Realook is the best. http://www.ebay.com/itm/REALOOK-Sam...046765?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item3a7bea296d
Again, everyone's opinion varies.
The best surface is glass; if you want to glide your fingertips on a oem like silky smooth surface. Glass also has endurance, unlike polymers, one glass protector can last the life of your phone; and yet remain virtually undetectable.
I am using xgear, the voyager 2 to cover my gnote..and I must say...it has garnered blatantly covetous stares along with many serendipitous glances. It's as though I'm running round in my birthday suit.
I'll never skin my baby with plastic. ....I'd rather go..naked!
Ok..ok..enough phone perv..spigen has apparently also finally decided to show some note 2 love......

All you need is a case, in my humble but accurate opinion glass protectors are useless. It's like putting a black bra on a White Ferrari.

Not really the best of analogies, but yeah, for most of the stuff the "Ferrari" would go through, the "bra" would protect it and I'd rather have the bra be damaged and replaced later. Unless it's a collision, in which case of course, no amount of bras will protect the car.
Of course we all would prefer them without the bra, but most times, the bra is necessary to keep them in prestine shape, especially in the long run, so whenever the bra is taken off, they will still looks nice and perfect.
+1 for JLG!! been wonderful for me, & great DEV!! Just do a search!
Which case are you using with the glass protector?
I've just been using an oem flip cover. Not much protection away from carpeted floors or a coat pocket am afraid. I'm considering some real world protection myself.
The glass sits just to the inside of the phones metal band. It adds .4mm and the glass edge is beveled.
To see if a particular case might fit, take a look at the Xgear site. They show a couple of cases they sell for the S3 that might help provide some guidance with chosing a compatible case for the N2 fitted with a glass protector. Wish I had more for you, but the bleeding edge can't be all fun and game.....

http://www.spigen.com/cell-phone/sa...note-2-screen-protector-steinheil-series.html
I personally think all these screen protectors either wet or dry are supplied by probably a dozen major manufacturers in Asia so the difference in most of them are packaging/marketing. I like dry installs, they are straightforward with less chance of screwup plus the fact you'd be exposing your $700 device with water and soap?
Something like this Korean PET based dry install, same as posted in this thread at 3x less, it's what I have for the gn2 and n7

If you want absolute full screen protection, but don't care about using your s pen then go spigen or zagg. If you want absolute clarity, solid protection and a smooth surface that will not get marked up by your s pen, but does not cover every square mm of your screen, then get JLG. If you just want cheapo then you got the wrong phone

Can anyone recommend invisibleshield like protector

for the front and back of the Note2. Maybe there is a version with some type of grip on the back part? Not sure but just front and back variations would be fine.
I have not tried invisible sheild but can tell you that you need to have a hard plastic protection on the front. I tried Copter first, as it was the only one available, and it sucks for our screen. After a days use it looked like an ice rink. The S-Pen marks it.
Regarding a shield on the back I think it is better to use a cover. The wear I have on my Note, after just over four months, would not be avoided with invisible shield on the back. The wear I have is on the silver frame that goes around the phone and on the end of the S-Pen. This is likely to have been caused while sliding the phone in and out of pockets.
I will be ordering a new flip cover from an online store in the UK that is super thin and that actually covers the back side and frame without adding bulk.
Bestskinsever.com it comes with sides back and front.
