[Q] Photo Editor? - G Tablet Themes and Apps

Anyone have suggestions for image editing? Photoshop Express only works with camera images and I want something that works with downloaded images. I have tried PicSay (free) on my phone and it is ok, but if there is something better I'd rather buy something once.
-=Sent from my ViewSonic G Tablet (VEGAn) using Tapatalk=-

You should look back at photoshop, click menu, more then settings
Uncheck "Show camera photos only in phone view"
Then you will have all images on the device.

Oh that's MUCH better! Thanks for the info!
I still miss having more features. The iCrap seems to have better photo apps in general.
-=Sent from my Droid 2 (Fission 2.3.1) using Tapatalk=-

didnt even know PS was available.. why didnt i look for this sooner ? hehe

Photoshop has been out for a long time. Most people shy'd away from it in tha past because it seemed to run persistent in the background, and the features were limited. PicSay seemed to be a better feature packed.

The "updated" Pulse reader stinks!

Today the Pulse RSS reader got an update, and my experience has been disappointing!
Pulse is\was one of my favorite apps... the older versions (available until today) allowed about 6 feeds to be viewable in landscape mode.
It seems like they changed the resolution for the rows, ans now I can only see 2.5 rows on the whole screen!
Perhaps they'll sort this out later, but for today I would recommend NOT downloading the update if you use Pulse on a Gtablet (VEGAn 5.1).
Just wanted to spare everyone else the disappointment. Also... there is no setting in the app to change the new resolution. If I'm wrong, please share!
Also, if anyone was smart enough to save an old .apk, could you be kind enough to link it here?
There is already another thread for Pulse and someone has posted a link to the old version.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10735980#post10735980
Oh thanks sjmoreno. I got the old apk. Thank goodness!
The updated Pulse doesn't even show up in the Market for me. I guess I'm lucky?
They plan on releasing an update to fix this today.

I used Titanium and went back to 1.8 on the G. Must admit the larger size is nice on the Incredible. Too hard to see the smaller thumbnails with 3.7" display.
Pulse needs an option for small and large thumbs for this reason.
I may not update Pulse on my Inc and keep 1.9.
Even the update sucks...
It only scales it very minimally, so instead of 2 rows being shown now there are 3.
Fail for tablets!

What looks great on a 7" or 10" tablet looks microscopic on a phone. Almost all of the market is driven by phone displays. On my Incredible, I prefer the update far better than 1.8, but prefer 1.8 far better on the G.
Keeping 1.8 on the G and 1.91 on the Inc. Dev should offer BOTH size options, rather than trying to choose sides.

Launcher 7

I remember a thread on here a while ago where people were theming to get the Windows Phone 7 look. There's now a launcher on the market called Launcher 7 that does most of the work for you, you should check it out.

im enjoying this launcher, its really smooth.

Definitely. If there's one thing that I'd like to see more of on the Market, it's more "alternative" launchers like this. Launcher Pro, ADW, Go, etc. all have their differences, but they're more or less the same in that they're all plays off of the whole multiple homescreen and a dock thing. It's nice to see new ideas out there. I remember a while back there was a launcher that showed all of your texts, email, facebook notifications, etc. in kind of an agenda view. It never really took off, but it's good to see devs think outside the box about the homescreen.

Because thats the core of how android to this point is intended to work. I like Launcher7, its fast, smooth and functional so I play with it here and there but the tile UI is comparatively bland and boring even with widget support (and the custom ones I've seen that arent bland and boring are WAY too busy). I'm gonna put it on my wifes phone since she'll love the big ass simple tiles concept.

sir I want to say this without coming off as a hater at all..
but that homescreen needs a little bit of work, it looks gaudy and awful!

without using custom images those 2x1 and 1x1 tiles (and the headphone/camera images) are all there is. I'm not going to spend anytime importing images because I like my android phone as an android phone and it wont get any use anyway. I was basically showing how the UI looks unmolested.

[REQ] Flickr app that's actually optimized for tablet.

I've tried them all. The closest to a decent experience on the tablet is FlickFolio. But it only works well as a photo viewer and not an actual app to check comments/activities etc. My favourite iOS Flickr app is FlickStackr (and Photopular Pro when I want to feel good about myself ;P).
So, I'm hoping someone will develop a nice Flickr Honeycomb app. I'm sure it will sell well on the Market as well since like I said, there isn't any :/
*hint Chris hint*
yeah I would buy one too. I would like to not have to use the browser.
I have yet to find an Android Flickr browser that's as good as the one I used under iOS I found one that looked promising, but it wasn't tablet-optimized.

If you're only looking for a Flickr image browser, then FlickFolio is decent. But it doesn't do anything else very well. Need FlickStackr for Android
What kind of features would you guys be looking for in a flickr tablet app?

My perfect Flickr app is FlickStackr for the iOS so perhaps you can take a look to see how it works.
But the most important features should be:
- Easy access to your own Photostream, Recent from Contacts, Explored
- QUICKLY view and edit comments/views/geotag/exif etc.
- Share photo on other Social Networking sites.
- Upload Photos.
Hope you or someone will be able to create a decent Flickr app for Android. Flickstackr for iPad is beautiful
Ok took a look at Flickstackr. It does look pretty good. I'll try and use that as my model. I'm pretty slow at developing so don't expect something over night.
Thanks

Awesome! I HOPE you won't rush it so we'll get a complete and stable package. can't wait to see how it turns out. Thanks!
I too would love a well-made Flickr app.

Also, if you have the time, maybe a stats mode for the narcassistic ;P Shows total view/visit per day/week etc. Only works with Pro accounts though.
As an anonymous user (i.e. not having a Flickr account), I like the ability of entering a keyword, having a search return a screen filled with thumbnails results (which would fill the whole tablet screen, with adjustable thumbnail sizes perhaps). Swipe to go to the next result page. Click on a photo to have it go fullsize. Photo could be saved if I wanted to keep it.
I'll have to charge my iPod to check what Flickr application I was using (before my Nexus One and my Xoom drove my iPod to the bottom of my desk drawer).
Still waiting patiently

There is an open source Flickr Viewer HD in the Market. Have you tried?
Some others: Flickr for Tablets, and FlickFolio also support Honeycomb.

Flickr Viewer HD is pretty good! Almost perfect for me. But Recent Activity doesn't work. And no full-screen mode.
Flickr for Tablet is also nice but too basic.
Just put a new version out. Anyone got an apk for this?

See my post here for the stock apk. I've also included an apk that I've modified to allow it to work in landscape mode (much more useful on a tablet...).

It's not the most intuitive, but I like it. I'll definitely be doing my serious editing at home but this is a great first start

yea, but the nice thing is they are vector based, & you shouldn't be worried about pixels anymore

What? Photoshop, a bitmap application, works with vectors? Explain this to me. I am stumped.

Photoshop Touch is bitmap = pixel based
Adobe Ideas is Vector based.
I got the Photoshop last night and was so impressed by it I bought collage this morning and proto an hour ago. The cloud integration is amazingly fluid and easy to use. The implementation of google image search built in saves a lot of time from having to first download from the web to your os and then upload to photoshop.Collage has an amazing feature whereyou can crop any image straight from the [email protected] This is a high class set of apps that can bring out the inner artist in anybody.
I watched this video a few weeks ago -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89hej8N1Me0
I was so impressed by that and the preview video on the Adobe site that the minute I got the email saying it was available, I purchased it without hesitation. The only limitation is that it can only save files to 1600px. Excellent app!

as far as I get it, the photos & stuff are (of course) pixel & not vector, but while working it processes vector for selection & things, I found it really damn precise if it's not vector
I was disappointed to find out that Adobe Ideas wasn't a mobile version of Illustrator which I had thought it would be, I read "vector based" in the description and was stoked, but found out it was just another drawing application that can transfer over to Illustrator as a vector...not quite the same thing. I wanted point manipulation on the Xoom...would have been really bad ass to do my vectors on a tablet anywhere.
I was reallylooking forward to using photoshop but since it cannot open local files its pretty much a huge dealbreaker for me. Once they add the ability to edit local PSDs ill be jumping right on it..

you can both open your .psd in tablet & opening your .psdx (new format for adobe PS touch) in your pc.
here is how
but few people reported when opening .psd formats in tablet, all the layers are flattened. (for me, it happens only for heavy .psd files)
I know you can do it from the "creative cloud" but I would like to do it from local files like SD card or flash drive.. that would be nice

P.S an option to export to different formats directly
I'm assuming you guys have used Sketch Book Pro? That has a pretty decent PSD export tool (which works with dropbox which I prefer and where all the rest of my stuff is). I agree with the different export ability too.
I got it and it doesn't seem to be working for me
