[Req] Notification Panel Redesign - Hero, G2 Touch Themes and Apps

I found this over on the CDMA forums and wondered if anyone had seen it or tried to get it working on our Hero's?

would love this! =)

It's a nice one.

Looks interesting! I think you need to compile a hero version of cyanogen with that new xml for it to work.
I'm actually trying it now, so fingers crossed and I'll report once I've got the ROM running
(compiling on laptop... sllllooowwwww)

Lol... patience, my young padawan. Turns out that the original xml posted in Droid Mechanics' blog was not compatible with the current CM6.1 source format, so I needed to edit that.. (something about id assignment) resuming compilation as we speak
EDIT: it also turns out that I've pushed my little lappy a bit too far; my linux partition is outta space. I'll continue work when I'm on my big machine again at home. Prolly later tonight (if I don't crash driving home through the snow )

Excellent Look forward to seeing this working.

Okay this is kind of very off topic... But how did you get your link to show blue??

Just quote his post to see the where hes used the bb tags

Okies... I've managed to get it working
But...
1) The carrier text is not displayed correctly (should be right-aligned)
2) This _will_ change your framework-res.apk. Having build it using CM6.2.0 RC0 (currently nightly), it _might_ not work on other ROMs.
Once I get the text properly aligned I will put up a framework-res.apk and a metamorph package for those who want to try

Cool Thanks for taking this on.

Ok, I've solved it
Now all I need to figure out is how to get it to you guys. What ROMs are you using?

Wow nice!
FroydVillain 1.7.2 over here

I've created a two options for you guys to try... but first:
DONT FORGET TO NANDROID
Having said that: I honestly do not know if this will work or not (my hero is also also my main phone and is currently running my own custom build of CM6.1), but for those brave enough to try here you go!
(all files can be found HERE)
Your options are to:
replace your framework-res.apk with one of these (this will reset any theme you've applied!):
(plain) Cyanogen 6.1 - Stable
Floyo 1.2.0
Froyd 1.7.2
or use a metamorph
(plain) Cyanogen 6.1 - Stable
Floyo 1.2.0
Froyd 1.7.2
Again, I have no clue if this will work, so backup first! I recommend a wipe of cache (and maybe dalvik) as well.
Post if it works or not. If this way turns out to be one big mess, I can share my private build, but hopefully this will work.

can it be done to Hero 2.1 with SENSE?

Sorry, but no. The framework is totally different and the power widget is exclusive to Cyanogen mod CM6 which is android 2.2 based.

Will try on floyo and reply

Did you metamorph or did you replace the framework-res.apk?

Will you be doing a gingerbread framework version of this?? (metamorph doesnt work for me )

LOL, really nice, im going to use it
I don't think you can use .gif files
what rom is this intended for?? if it's gif it can only be used in hero roms; eclair doesn't support animated .gifs.
Its not a gif Its just an imagesscrolling behin another image
No problems installing, works great
I'm using WGBuild 9.2
doesnt work with Black Ice for 4.2.8.1
i morph it and restart and it sticks with the blackice boot
so only works with stock cyanogen ?
Simply genius!
OMFG! i went to bed last night at 6am with the thought of someone doing this, Metamorphing this boot screen! IM SO GLAD IT ACTUALLY HAPPENED! dghldhflsdfhsldkrhsalf

HILARIOUS!!!
Installed with MetaMorph
It installed just fine with MetaMorph 1.7, cyanogen 4.2.8.1 (My G1).
This morning, tried to install this on a friend's G1, cyanogen 4.2.4, and the new version of MetaMorph was downloaded, v1.8.1.
During installation getting error "Control file missing or cannot be found"
Anyone know what this is about? We re-downloaded the Metamorphed .zip file, but it's still the same...
Thanks
Bert
I've just updated MetaMorph to version 1.8.1, deleted piss.zip and piss folder from the AndroidThemes directory and applied it again, and everything went ok...
Are you sure Metamorph is correctly installed in your friend's phone?
with cyanogen vers. 4.2.11.1 dont go. i instaled this with metamorph 1.8.1 but if i restart only the cyanogen bootscreen is show...
please let me know with a pm if you had a solution. thanks a lot for your work.

[Theme] Kalagas Mixed Theme for FroydVillain 1.5.0 Updated 10/11/2010

Here is my ported theme originally created by Kalagas for Milestone. So all credit and thanks go to him for giving me permission to port it.
Some parts of the theme may be from other themes but I've had them that long I can't remember who created them so if the creators recognise them I apologise in advance and hope you don't mind me using them in this theme. If this is breaking any rules I apologise and understand if you have to remove this theme but I would be grateful if you could let me know who I need to ask for permission to post this theme.

Launcher Pro 0.8.1.1
LauncherPro-0.8.1.1.apk
From my testing I think you need to remove any old versions of Launcher Pro before you install this for it to work (any existing Launcher Pro settings will be lost and have to be redone). If someone can clarify this as I'm really not sure. Also I have noticed that If do an update (if there is one available it overwrites all files) I lose the theme. So I don't do an update.
If anyone can tell me of a better way of theming Launcher Pro to get round all these problems I would be grateful.
Notes: Do a Nandroid backup before install.

My intention was to do a seperate theme for all the other major roms and release it then but I've been so busy at work I've not had a chance to finish the other ones yet.
I will still do it for other roms and post them as soon as each one is finished so please bear with me.
I haven't tested it on the other roms but I don't think it will work as I have themed most of the apps as well, so I wouldn't risk trying it on anything other than Froyd.
I really like your theme !!
I tried it on floyo 1.1.8, but doesn't work

Not had anyone else coming back with that problem so I'm not sure why it's doing that. I'll resign the zip files and upload again but it sure sounds like the problem is at your end.
I'll let you know when I've re-uploaded the files.
The wallpaper.zip is just a zip file. You just need to extract the wallpaper and then copy it to an image folder on your sd card.

Gingerbread AOSP

I've built the Gingerbread AOSP release for Vogue and a system image is here:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/androidhtc/files/system-gingerbread-29-12-10_22.tgz/download
It's not perfect yet and as you know I don't have a connected vogue any more but it should be good as a base for other roms and for testing.
The camera now works and the dialler and other activities should fit better.
This is now european languages only to make the image smaller and is android version 2.3.1 grh78
Happy xmas.
To build it, follow the instructions in the first post of the fresh froyo thread using "-b gingerbread" instead of "-b froyo" in the first command.
Thanks and merry Christmas to you too
This is it! I can't believe it!
only problem is i cant get incoming calls, they go to voicemail... outgoing works fine though
