Building Android for HTC Wildfire HOWTO? - Wildfire Android Development

Hi,
is somewhere a tutorial how to build a vanilla Android for the HTC Wildfire from the source?
CyanogenMod contains too much, I'm looking for a plain Android that looks like that in the
emulator of the SDK.
Thanks in advance,
Alina

I can't find the source of OpenFire, only the binaries.

She wants to understand the firmware that she use and she is a little paranoid, so that she don't trust binary-only firmwares.
Her last smartphone was a Neo FreeRunner.

Here is android source http://android.git.kernel.org/, but you need something more to build this for WF.

I was trying to help by providing the OEM packages for PointUI.
So PointUI is the LGMenu? I can't belive I'm so lost. LOL. I'm gonna go search for it now. OEM packages ARE welcomed! lol
EDIT: Oh THAT thing. lol
I'll still appreciate OEM Packages for my kitchen. ^_^

Hi,
It's running pretty good, with some issues here and there.
I'm trying to ask the creators for permission before uploading a rom version with it included.
I think in a few weeks they will have most of the issues resolved.
The rom that I rebuilt has it with a lot of stuff from HTC removed so it runs even faster.
I'm trying to figure out how to change the colors of the main page and redirect the media player to the HTC_AudioManager instead of the Windows Media player.
I just installed PointUI... I'm in love...

As you might have already seen from their forum, they gave the okay to use it in our roms.
I'm going to wait for the bugs to be fixed before releasing it.
Ditto. I'll probably just release it as a OEM package for the kitchen. I MIGHT make a ROM specifically designed around it... MIGHT. Probably not. I've already involved myself in TOO many uncompleted projects.

Hi,
I have not uploaded it yet since there are way too many bugs rite now.
I took it off my phone since I've been rebuilding my Open Touch v2.2.1.
I will certainly pm you the link once I make more progress with this app.
So are you guys talking about the PointUI, the LG menu or the T-Moblile Shadow menu???
Just to clarify my confusion. I have tried all except the Shadow menu.
Always nice to have alternative user interfaces. Looking forward for your ROM releases
ttran, when u get the point ui rom built, i'd be more than happy to be a beta tester. just downloaded it, and i have to admit, it is a great app. can't wait to see what u can conjure up.

I have my little bro testing it out rite now.
It seems to be running smooth, but still too many issues.
I've removed a lot of stuff from the rom to free up space and help speed up things.
I will keep you posted.

[REQ][APP] Sense Camera app for CyanogenMod 10.2 (4.3)

The Cyanogenmod and GPE rom camera apps are terrible compared to the Sense camera, in my opinion. Can anyone get it ported please?
Nope

maybe due to different framework
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk
The Sense Apps all rely on the closed sourced HTC frameworks. They can not be ported to non Sense Roms. Many have been trying for years and it has always failed.
Therefore it's not as simple as just copying some Sense libs over to the CM install in order to run the apps that call them; the Senseness permeates more aspects of the ROM than that.
(Not trying to second guess anyone, I honestly just want to understand why I have to give up my dream of simultaneous CM + good pictures on the One.)

Right as the all sense apks need the HTC framework files.
This is what you give up when you move to an open source distro like cm. You lose all the cool closed source stuff for open source that you can edit freely.

Yeah, as I said on the other thread, it's just CM with an MI Launcher. Don't mislead people. Peace.

So u downloaded the rom
laucher , ringtones replaced .. and few mi apps dropped in system/app folder ..
this doesn't make a ROM ..
And what do u mean by themed ? I no where find theming in your miui ROM ..
Edit : sorry .. so called miui ROM
Yes, this is misleading!!! Please change the title.
you better create a thread maintain all your roms because all are just themed cm roms ... not exactly ports

Well, he's just changed build.prop and added mi apps and told it's a miui rom.
Custom rom is a much harder work frnd. Not discouraging you but learn first n den implement. Theming is a core part of custom rom which is missing from ur roms. Take it positively and come up with something better next time.:good:

[ROM][7.1.2] LineageOS for microG [Kenzo/Kate] [24-11]

This is not my work!!!
Here you can find all about this new great ROM:
https://lineage.microg.org/
LineageOS unofficial fork with built-in microG gapps implementation.
Here you can find the Kenzo-version: https://download.lineage.microg.org/
Is this rom will save much more batteries?
And why is it 7.2.1?
Are we able to use regular custom kernel like elementalX, radon, etc?
Thanks!

Hahaha, the battery situation is subjective and depends on your use.
It's 7.1.2 "7.2.1" is just a typo
It's regular lineage with built in micro G so besides that there's not a whole lot of things that set it apart from the official LOS, so any kernel will be ok
Typo fixed Why you will use an other kernel?
This was shared in here before: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/help/googless-lineage-t3672727
Also you shouldnt open threads in development section for the roms which is not specific for kenzo. You should share them in other sections. I didnt report tho, just saying.

Yeah i know that this is subjective. But afaik the google things will consume more batteries. And this is come with something called micro.

[Request] Custom Kernel

I miss the days where you could easily see custom kernels for android phones.
Sigh... anyway, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this so feel free to move it in case ?
Now to the point... I understand we need to get the sources to even have any chance for this to happen. Does anyone know if this is in the foreseeable future or do we need to email or ask Huawei?
Kernel sources are already available but development on P20 pro is a bit ... sluggish.

@reppi - would you happen to have links for the sources?
I have been researching how to create my own kernel and most guides require me to have linux or such. Isn't there a way to do it via Windows 10?
