I have a captivate and now when I text it puts all of my text one after the other and the other person I'm having a conversation with directly above. So it shows all of the recipients and then it shows all of mine. Very annoying......has anyone else experienced this issue? Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you're having problems with the sms time stamps. Download an app like SMS Time fix or something and calculate the times yourself and offset it.

There is a sms history log. It will show all the back and forth conversation with a contact and put it in chronological order. It's a feature not a bug
You can reduce the message history in the menu settings of the sms app. By default it keeps 200 messages per contact.

I've come across an burdening issue sending a txt with multiple recipients. Though the grouped chat style text messaging is an incredible advantage, there are some cons and i'm wondering if they can be fixed somehow.
Because of the chat style text messaging, your first outgoing message gets coped to your inbox. Is there any way for the first outgoing message to NOT be copied to your inbox?
This poses an issue for when you are sening a mass/group text message. For example, if i send out "Happy New Year" to 50 people in one text, i get 50 outgoing copies in my inbox.
Suggestions?
It doesnt really get copied, The threaded sms app just shows that you started a conversation with those recipients. I do see what your saying though, and i guess it can get somewhat annoying having all those open conversations in your inbox, BUT now you only have those 50 or so threads in your inbox as opposed to (like me) thousands of messages to scroll through. Plus as an added benefit you can see who replied in an orderly fashion. I for one would like the option to turn sms threading on/off, but I guess this is progress...

Well as much as i love it, i would like to see that the program doesn't show the started conversation on the first initial text message. It should show it when they reply. This would solve the group text messaging issue

If it's even something that can be edited... might be part of the program's code.
I'd like to be able to move the messages into another folder but cant seem to find out a way to do it as the option isnt highlighted

Has any one experienced a problem with Touch Flow 3D when the number of new messages displayed by the green number on the messages tab is stuck and won't clear even when all messages have been read in the mail application?
Any ideas of how to clear/reset the Touch Flow 3D so it no longer shows new messages indicator?
To date I have tried several hard reboots, deleted out all recent messages from when this problem began, however it still wont clear.

Go into the home screen settings, and disable TouchFlo, save changes, then reboot, and enable...see if tht works

Thanks for your suggestion, I gave it a try, but the new message indicator still has not cleared. Hopefully soneself else has other ideas I can try.

At your email click on inbox, so your in the Microsoft list view then click on the top left inbox drop down. You will now see the tree of all the email boxes. If you expand the Outlook email you should find that the unread email is the one automatically created in that inbox.

The problem is with the Messages tab, not the Email tab which links to outlook. The Messages tab loads up to ArcSoft Messages application to handle SMS messages. When I go into the inbox of this application there are 0 (zero) new messages.
Go through every msg and wait 5 seconds

its not removable unless you flash the ROM again
flashing the rom again fixed this issue for me

Hey guys I just ran across this thread and have a program to solve your problem. Ive had it around for a while and I do not recall who wrote it but just run the .exe and it should solve your problems. If anyone knows who wrote it feel free to mention.

I think your confused.. Im going to assume your trying to send a picture and it says its too large so its converting it to an mms right?
Actually, he's right. On my G1 when I hit so many characters (usually by the end of the 3rd set of 160) it changes to MMS. The reason it does this is so the network can better handle the message. Sending as 3 seperate texts would take more time for the network to submit, store, and resend, than 1 MMS message would.

No he isnt confused, when you sent a text that goes over a certain amount of characters it converts it into a mms, i dont think you can stop it from converting it but what you can do is send multiple text massages under the conversion limit

Not really no. Just when you get to a certain limit and the counter appears showing how many characters you have left, just send it, and start on the next one
Send shorter messages, send an email or IM...
SMS converts to MMS when it gets 3 messages long..it has a character count so stop right before it converts and send it and continue in a new text

I've had an unlocked G1 for a while now and its been going great. Calls, wifi, tethering, mms, all of it works just fine.
The only issue I'm having is with my voicemail. When I call the AT&T voicemail number, it says it needs more information from me, it then gives me the option to enter the 10 digit number to leave a message, or press pound to access my voicemail. If I try entering my number to leave a message, it says it isn't set up and cannot leave a message. If I hit pound and try to access my voicemail, it says the mailbox number does not exist.
Anybody know how to fix this issue?

Use YouMail. It's really nice, has it's own app and you can personalize messages for everyone in your phonebook.

I actually had a friend who had an extra invite for Google Voice, so I got signed up for that and am using it for all of my voicemail needs.

So this has happened twice so far on my unlocked N9, I got a text message from a contact, and up top instead of showin* their name it showed their number followed by /[email protected] and it didnt let me be able to respond back. Has anyone seen this before?

Yes, thats what happens if you get a text from an email - like someone unknowingly texted you from an email address like on an iPhone. IIRC

Thank you for responding, this was a text sent from my brother from his android phone. Not from an email or an iPhone.
Ok, so I got a group chat from my bro yesterday, it came through at 7:35 pm last night, but the time stamp was from 5:07 am. Anyone have any ideas of what’s causing this?
