Handcent Security Feature - Nexus S Themes and Apps

Anyone have trouble getting the handcent security lock to work on the Nexus S? Works fine on the N1, but setting the security on the S does not do anything.

Handcent delivery report issue

--
I have had some issues with gosms as well, not sure why.
Same here with Handcent. It doesn't happen every single time but, more often than not, I'm also getting reports of "unsuccessful". And I have also confirmed that the messages have gone through regardless.

Handcent is working fine for me. In settings I have the default messaging application "Disabled". When ever I have it as anything else there seem to be problems. I just disable notifications on the stock messaging app so I dont get a double notification.

Are you getting "succesful" reports from Handcent? My config is that same as you describe, but I'm getting unsucessful as delivery status from Handcent. The stock msg app gets the correct status..........
I've emailed HC, maybe everyone should.........
My Handcent delivery report shows success, but all of my sent messages show the clock (pending delivery).
Default messaging app works fine.
On my Thunderbolt with ICS, I had no problems.

[Q] Exchange Email Duplicate Active Notifications

Problem: I have two exchange email accounts that I cannot swipe away from active notifications. I can swipe them away but they reappear shortly after. This does not occur with my gmail notifications.
I think I know what the problem is tied to but I cannot find a workaround or solution. I am using the exchange security bypass email apk. Its basically the stock email apk but with hacks so you don't have to set up security. I have had this problem 4.2.2 running the same apk. with eclipse rom based on 4.2.2. and now with eclipse based on 4.4.2. I am no longer using the email i used earlier from an xda thread because nitro put in his own email apk with security hack built in.
I have searched a lot and haven't found anything. I know that 4.4 had problems with exchange giving multiple notifications on nexus devices and others but I don't get multiple notifications on my notification bar, only on the active display.
Currently i have to unlock the phone and remove the email notification from my noti bar for it to stop showing up repeatedly in active notifications. I'm hoping there is a simple solution that i have just not found or a thread i couldn't find. I assure you that i searched for a long while on google and xda and other forums looking for answers and didn't find anything.
Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Vzw dev unlocked rooted eclipse 3.2.1 (most current version) stock kernel.

I can't help but have noticed the same.
Well at least I know its not just me Now. I haven't found anyone else talking about it and its such a pita to deal with that I thought it might just be something weird with my set up

Glad to hear I'm not alone here either. I'm using the stock email app (no security hack) and the notifications come back after dismissing. I thought there were a couple times that they went away after dismissing a few times, but I haven't been able to reproduce that in any consistent fashion.
Love to hear if anybody has a fix for this though.

I have never actually dismissed it that many times because I get pissed but I did read reports of stock email app on nexus giving multiple notifications for an email in the bar even after they swiped away the notification. Maybe they fixed that issue for them but it didn't fix active notification issues. If more people report it with the stock email app then maybe I'll try to talk to moto about the issue. It just doesn't seem like it is possible that its that wide spread and not really anyone has complained yet.

Here's a potential resolution/workaround. I just came across AcDisplay (also available in the Play store), which adds some great features to the Active Display and seems to fully dismiss the Exchange notifications. I just started using it today based on a recommendation from a friend that also has an X and so far so good.

[Q] Reminders

Folks
not sure if this behavior is peculiar to nexus 6 or to lollipop. In the past OS's (i came from galaxy s4), your reminders would stay on till you dismiss them - whether they are google calendar or exchange, etc. With this new phone (running shamu 3.97), my reminders automatically disappear. Any way to re-adopt the old behavior?

Replying to messages not working

I just upgraded my phone to a Galaxy S8+ and configured Android Auto to work with my 2017 Ford Fusion with Sync 3.
The problem I'm having is that when I say "Reply" to a message then AA says that "The application does not support chat or needs to be upgraded". It was working fine before the phone upgrade. I tried with both Textra and Facebook Messenger and neither of them work now.
Has anyone else come across this issue? Any ideas how to fix it?
Android auto probably needs to be upgraded to support the S8 properly.
Could it be this?

Android Messages on Note 9

I have chosen to use Android Messages vs the the Samsung Messages app that orginally came with the phone. I personally prefer Android Messages as it's simple and not so compacted. Anyhow recently, I notice I can't get notifications for some reason its like it's set to a timer that will allow the notification to be on the lock screen or pull down menu. Perhaps another way of describing it is: it's when I have multiple sms messages but nowhere was I informed that I had messages, but if only one message comes I get the proper notification. It's weird as... All my notifications are properly all set up and the app is updated to the latest verison..
Hi, did you get a solution to this, I have a similar problem on my Note 9 Default SMS App, I never get notifications when I get any texts. I can only see them when i open Messages APP
