Gameloft's Hero of Sparta free today during next 24 hrs - G Tablet Themes and Apps

Gameloft is known for makin some of the best games for iPhone/ipad. Currently they do not put their games on the market because of pirating issues, but they do offer their games on their online store (ussualy 4.99). For the next 24hrs they are giving away one of them for free. Link toandroid central . I was able to download it to my fascinate but have not done so for the g tab.
If you try to follow the link provided by androidcentral it will take you to their site but the page is in desktop format witch wont give you le link to the download, some how the site is able to recognize what phone you have and based on that it tells you that the game is compatible with your phone or not and if it does not recognize what phone you have it designates your phone as unknown. I have tried several browsers in mobile and in android view with no luck. Since i have a android phone i decided copy the URL of the page that recognized my phone and opening it from the g tab, no luck it still tells me that my device is unknown.
So I emailed customer suport and after many emails back and forth the told me to select my device and once select to add this to the url &igagame=hdbk
surprisingly this actually worked and I was able to download the nexus one verison of the game. the game crashes as soon as you try to open it. I tried different verisons of the game but the url trick stoped working and I was unable to make the page recognize my phone. I also asked him if the game was compatible with the g tab and he said that the only tablet they support is the galaxy tab. So I tried the selecting that as my device and was able to make the page load, however it seemed that hero of sparta was listed for 4.99. I email customer support and they verify that the promo is not for the galaxy tab version.
Anyone want to give this a try before time runs out?

Downloaded to my Nexus One, then sideloaded on gTablet (vegan b3). Launching the game causes immediate "application has stopped unexpectedly" message. Given that they appear to package the game by device, I was skeptical it would work, but wanted to give it a shot anyway.

Downloaded for my Droid. Plays fine on it, but forcecloses trying to open on my gtab running tnt lite

well this sucks, i was really hoping it would work.

Some apps don't show up in my Market

Maybe this has nothing to do with the NC, not sure yet.
But I've noticed that some apps don't seem to show up in the Market on my Nook Color, but do on my Android phone and AppBrain.
For example EA Mobile has some 99 cent games on sale right now. I got Need for Speed for my phone. And it shows up in AppBrain on my NC, but in the Market it's not there.
I noticed some others missing too like Super Manager.
Are these apps not showing up because this Market apk came from the Galaxy Tab and they aren't supported on tablets (noticed one of the EA games did mention it wasn't supported on the Galaxy Tab)? Or is something else going on?

Market will not show apps that are deemed incompatible with your device. Since NC doesn't come with market, it will mainly show you generic apps. Other alternate market apps may show you apps that work or that don't and apps that require OS 2.2, since the NC is an unsupported device.

I've had this same problem, specifically with Pocket Legends. I sideloaded an old .apk of it and booted it up. It works, but then tells me to upgrade and when I let it go to the market, the screen just flashes and goes back to the pocket legends app.
Ugh. Is this something that could be fixed in the future? I'm starting to get surprised at how many apps I can't download from the Market now. Can't even install Firefox.
I guess I can try side loading some of these thing from my Android phone.

Can't install Firefox? Shows in the market here for me.
Firefox Beta 3 showed up for me and installed fine.
Inconsistance
I've had to re-root my new nook color several times. The first time I did it the Market had a limited number of apps. Viewing the "Top Free" or "Top Paid" only had about 10 apps visible as opposed to a long ongoing list of apps.
After a factor reset and re-root the market was showed any and every app.
After a third factory reset and reroot the market was back to the original way with far fewer apps. (currently Firefox, Dolphin, Skyfire are NOT visible but Opera is)
So I can confirm "something" is problematic. I came to this forum hoping for an answer myself.
Running 1.0.1 and used auto-nooter each time.
This may not fix your problem, earlyhike - but it may help someone:
When viewing the market holding it as a portrait, only 10 apps show but if you rotate to landscape then you can scroll through the long list.
Hope this helps someone
I would very much appreciate if someone could upload the Firefox Beta 3 since I can't get it from Market. Thanks in advance.

I had to install it on my Android phone, then just copied the APK file over to my Nook and installed it that way. I put a copy here of Firefox 4 beta 3.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/15926256/org.mozilla.firefox-1.apk
Now I'm curious what is going on.
Those of you that found Firefox, were you using the new Market or the old market?
I'm using the New Market and not seeing Firefox (and some other things). I wonder if this new Market apk is the issue.

Unable to locate n64oid, not compatible

I am unable to get n64oid on my G-tablet, I have the VEGAn rom, beta 5.1.1... I have applied about every market fix I can find however I am unable to find it in the Market. If I go to the web browser and go to the market that way, I can find it however when I click install it comes up with the window to select device however it wont let me select my gtablet (says its not compatible...). Has anyone else had this issue? I have searched through these forums and also google to no avail. Please help. Thanks!
Brandon
I was able to get it first time. But I hear that sometimes repeating the fix lots of times can help

I'm in pretty much the same situation. I have a gtablet that I got a couple of weeks ago and I'm running Nvidia VEGAn-TAB-v1.0.0B5.1 on it.
When I go to the market through my web browser and try to purchase/install N64oid I see this:
Choose device on which to install
Nvidia VEGAn-TAB-v1.0.0B5.1
This item is not compatible with your device
And when I use the Market app and try to search for N64oid in the market it just won't find it.
I've had mixed success so far being able to find apps compatible with my gtablet with Vegan on it. For example when I try to search/get Pulse (rss newsfeed app) I have the same exact problem I have with N64oid - the market says it is not compatible with my device. Kind of frustrating.
I had read it might be possible to download these apps with another android device that is compatible with the app and then sideload it onto my gtablet? Not sure about that. (And I don't have another android device anyway).
I got it in the market on vegan
i couldn't get it to show up on my gtab in market (stock 3588 plus enhancement pack) so i used my my captivate ran mybackup pro with superuser access. you must save apk and data or it won't work on your gtab just force close.
once loaded on my gtab i did a little comparison with my captivate (tegra 2 vs hummingbird) while most of the roms that loaded on the humming bird platform a few ran poorly and some to the point of unplayability like star fox 64. however the Gtab never hiccuped on a single game that loaded. mighty nice i must admit...makes me want to get a new fone with tegra 2.

NFL ticket to go....

Well NFL/Directv announced that Nfl ticket will be coming to Android Tablets including the Xoom along with other Android phones.. Being that I have the NFL package I went right into the market to look for it. I did see it for both my sensation and Xoom. Then of course grabbed it. Now when I opened her up and tried to run it I get network error. It asks you to sign in with your Dtv account, I di that and then get the error. Anyone else?I know there are no games on but if I am not mistaken the app is supposed to give you the redzone channel s well as some other app futures
i got the same issue
ive had Sunday ticket for years and they don't activate it until the regular season starts. With ticket to go my understanding is that they have not flipped on the servers yet which is why you are getting the network error.
same thing
I have the same problem, but it logs in fine on my ipad, but gives a network error when I try to connect with my G2. anybody get it working yet on android? I don't want to wipe my phone and reload if it's going to do the same thing afterwards.
There is a tablet optimized app now. When i log on I get a intro video that says we will see you sunday.
started working on my android phone last night.
Seems like a nice app. Can't wait.
I can't install NFL Game Pass for Tablets on my Xoom with Tiamat-ROM 2.2 (Honeycomb 3.2). :-(
I will flash original 3.1 and hope, that I can install the app. Wish me luck.
when I go into the market it tells me...
Purchase Cancelled
The item you were attempting to purchase could not be found.
retry cancel
?? thought it was a free app but then again the market has bee very weird for my on my xoom
edit....
oh never mind the app requires phone and my xoom is wifi only

[Q] Can't install World Of Goo

Hey everyone,
I tried to buy World Of Goo on the market today, but have been struggling with it! I manage to successfully buy it, but when downloading I get told that I have "insufficient space". The way I understand it, this is likely due to the 30mb limit imposed by the Galaxy S? This may be completely wrong, but after a brief search that appears to be my problem. I've tried the following:
1) Wiping cache (no change)
2) Wiping Dalvik-cache (no change)
3) Rolling back to Market 2.3.6 (didn't even give me an error, just didn't download)
4) A script which created a larger virtual cache (script ran into an error and didn't run)
5) Any combination of the above you can think of
Does anyone have any ideas on what I could try next? The demo installed and ran beautifully, I was really excited to play the full version!
World of Goo and 30MB limit on Market
Hi,
Same problem here... I do remember that AirAttack HD had the same problem - it was sold in two parts but afterwards Dev did something so that the package would be down-loadable on SGS via Android Market. At this point I have only found demo apk and it installs correctly (outside Market), but I would like to purchase full version and RUN IT.
Demo works fast and flawlessly.
I have a strange idea - buy a full version on web Andorid Market, find a full game apk and then connect it to Market via "Market Doctor" in Titanium Backup...
Just tried to buy it on the web-based market, but it says it's incompatible. Besides, that's a bit too close to piracy
Answer...
Well I did change my JVS to CyanogenMOD 7.1 and it works... I was able to buy World of Goo in the Market, it works...

Yes, CM7 doesn't have that issue. There are also successful ways of creating a temporary virtual cache big enough to handle the size. And like someone else said, if you buy the app, download a pirated older version, use Titanium Backup if you need to link it to the market, and then update it to the proper version in the market. It may seem like piracy, but if you're paying for the app this will work.
I had this problem but have now installed the game. I was already on Simplicity ROM and had the Semaphore kernel installed, this has an add on that allows virtual 50Mb cache. This didn't help in the Market though.
I had to go to their own website and buy it with Paypal, then getting emailed a link for download. Great game!
Same Here
I'm so pissed! I should have known better than to order a game this big off the Android Market. I ordered the game using my PC and I thought the game was going to be sent to my phone straight from 2D boys because that's what my order e-mail said.
But then I got an error message from the market telling me the "not enough space" crap. I bought the game! Then insult to injury, I discovered that I could have bought the game directly from 2d Boys off their web site. They are set up now for Android phone orders! I e-mailed them and hope to hear back soon. I told them that they are going to be flooded with complaints because the market is broken.
Same problem here, I have tried everything that is mentioned in the first post without success, however I was playing the demo past week in MIUI without a problem, now I'm on CM 7.1 final. I sent an email to the support address but there is no answer yet. Any other idea?
2DBoys did get back to me and they are aware of the problem with the Android market. I e-mailed the guy my order # and he refunded my money. I asked him how downloading straight from 2Dboys web site worked, but I haven't heard back yet. I'm not going to try until I know it's going to work. Must say they were fast with getting back to me.

Same here - they were really quick in recognizing the issue and even sent me a dl-link as if I had bought it straight from them. Really great support.
Like you I really can't wrap my head around why this only happens with Market downloads the install from 2DBoys was no problem.
I've seen 100 explanations for this issue, and I'm still not sure what is causing it.
Ps. Now the World-of-Goo wants to update in Android Market (even thou I ended up dl-ing it straight from 2DBoys), but if I try it just says I haven't purchased it... Ds.

Paid Apps Will No Longer Download From Market

Hi
Up until yesterday, apps, whether paid or free would download fine on my device. Nothing has changed my end, but today, paid apps will no longer download (free apps download fine). There are two issues, the authorising payment page takes eons (used to be instant), and the phone sits on the 'starting download' or 'downloading...' pages for ever without ever actually downloading the app that I have paid for. Issue is present whether I initiate the download from the phone or from a PC.
Obviously, this makes the phone next to useless. I have no time to wipe/re-install the phone - especially since this may not even fix the issue!
I can find no 'report an issue' link at google's market to get support on this issue. The apps purchased are past the refund window.
I have tried all the various fixes I found on google (start google talk, kill cache/app settings for market and downloader), try another internet connection, restart phone blah blah, nothing has worked.
Anyone got any suggestions?
Nigel
Paid apps that had previously been installed and then removed will re-install fine... I can only assume that its the authorisation thats failing (nothing wrong with any of the cards on my google wallet account).
Nigel
Go to setting - application - manage - All - market - clear cache n Data
do same for talk (google talk)
first login to talk then market
In market application - check setting - accout - Fix default if you have multiple acc
Hi
As mentioned in my original post. I already tried that. I just tried it again with the same result.
After having done the above, I tried to buy the app from my PC, Got the following message 'Your order is still being processed. Your item will become available as soon as your order is complete. If you'd like, you can check your order status at anytime.' which is not the norm. Clicking the link within the message takes me to the transaction in google wallet which is listed as 'complete' unfortunately, the download does not auto-start (like it used to) on the phone, and when I force it to manually start, It goes to the 'starting download...' message. The app never does download, market app just displays this message forever more until I go and 'clear data' for the market app.
I give up! Looks like I am stuck with what I have on the phone + whatever I can get for free.
Have emailed google, will update thread should they bother to respond.
Market version is 3.4.4 | Download Manager is 2.3.5
Have you vosited web version of market?
Market.android.com login with google acc.
You will see your purchased appl there, if u can see there, click on install from there, it will start installing to ur device remotely
Try it
Hi
Yep, tried that - does not work. I can initiate the installation of free apps from the market on a pc, but not paid apps. The paid app I am trying to install is listed as having been successfully purchased. Looks like a bug/glitch, but one I am going to have to wait for google to fix.
Do you have the Amazon app market installed?

This issue seems to be with KL3 onwards and region or could be csc dependent, the only fix for this is to use the older market version the 2.6.x
try going into recovery mode and choose fix permission
Hi
Well, I got an auto response from google 'we are looking into it', but no emails since. Tried again this morning, and everything just started working again. Whether this was an issue with the market, my market account, my google wallet account etc is unknown.
I'd like to know the reason so I can fix it if it happens again, but at least its now working again.
@ericshmerick: Nope, no amazon app market. I don't believe this works in the UK
Nigel
The exact same thing is happening to me were you able to eventually get the apps you purchased its been about two days and the problem persists I have filed a support case with Google happening on two phones and a tablet ans the web market through a PC isn't working either. It seems to get stuck at authorizing the payment .

This was a big problem two weeks ago. I think the CheckROM guys figured out how to fix it. Their forum has a nice FAQ at the start. Have a look there. If that doesn't help then wade through the Rocket forum.
