T-Mobile VVM: Has anyone gotten this to work? - Nexus S Themes and Apps

It just hangs at the setup screen forever for me.

I know I signed up for vvm..but I don't see it in my list of apps...is it in the market or something?
This comes from the deepest thing ever rooted my ...HTC Evo 4G!

Yes, it's been working fine for me on every custom rom so far.
A. Make sure your SIM Card is in the device when you d/l the application.
B. Call T-Mobile and have them manually add Visual Voicemail to your account. If it is already added to the account, have them refresh its activation.
Let me know how this works out for you.

Got a new SIM yesterday, now it works...weird

I already had it on my mytouch, but it hangs on the nexus

I just used YouMail from the market for VVM. Much better, imo.

Just curious as to why you guys would use T-Mobile VVM or other third party VVM software when there is Google Voice? Different features?

Yes, Nexus S doesn't come with T-Mobile Visual Voicemail preloaded. It is in the market, just search Visual Voicemail.

I've never made a comparison. I use it simply because it was preloaded on my first smartphone and it's never given me the problems some people seem to complain about, so I've never felt compelled to switch. I may migrate to Google Voice in the near future just to try it out, since I've migrated pretty much my entire life to Google anyway. Might as well throw them my voicemail, too.

I would love to see this work - hope a developer will take up the cause.
I could send the AT&T Visual Voicemail apk file to anyone that could make it happen. I have used it on the Vivid and it is awesome.

I tried Google voice for months and finally discarded it. Google's servers kept going down at critical times and I missed important text and voice messages as well as phone calls. People could not reach me. I now use Hullo Mail for voice messages and ATT for telephone and messaging services.
Nobody got this working yet?
This would be awesome on the NOTE
I am with ya.. We need to find someone that can get it working on the Note also I have a question.. On your note.. If you go the brightness and turn it up all the way.. Then go to Live Backgrounds and choose the Windmills (Weather) and have it rnning.. Look by the sky and by the mills ands see if you can see lines in it on the screen.. I noticed this with mine and I want to know if it is just mine or everyones.. Also why does mine slow down after a few days and it seems I have to reimage it to get it back up and running fast..

Make a phone/service without Visual Voicemail? I can't imagine who should be fired for releasing this phone, the new Samsung Note, without V V... If I can't find a quick resolution, then, both of my units are going back to Best Buy! The SkyRocket worked perfect. Promises were that the Note would be everything the SkyRocket was/is and even better - not true without Visual Voice Mail!

Not a good solution for business folks. Maybe ok for casual users who can afford to miss a message. But wait a minute, why are we discussing this, Apple set the benchmark years ago... what's the big deal? It should work and we should not have to use third party no reliable solutions! Samsung, ATT - get this working NOW!

Maybe somebody can port it from the "New" Note?
Anybody that hasn't found it yet, follow these instructions. Working for me on GT-N7000 with CriskeloROM V2. I suppose I should also remind anyone that feels nice enough to please click the thanks button. I've realized I'll likely be around this forum for a while, and I learn very quickly. Plus I love sharing whatever knowledge I have. Later gents.
There is a thread in our forums with the apk and instructions. It works and I'm using it now

[Q] HoliRaider visual voicemail att

I have been searching the threads and I can't seem to find the answer. I apologize if I missed it. Market won't let me download att visual voicemail. It says something about being incompatible with my device. I have a Vivid running the new HoliRaider rom. Is this a known issue? Is there something I'm doing wrong?
I believe all the custom rom's based off the Telstra ROM's aren't wanting to play nice with AT&T VVM.

Ah thanks for the tip, that'll do nicely for now. Looking forward to you implementing the AT&T VVM into RumRaider
I had issues with my VVM when the phone was new straight out of the box. Turns out that the issue came from when the representative did my upgrade. He screwed something up with the provision for VVM, well actually voicemail in general, and AT&T had to forward me all the way to Tier 2 tech support to fix it. Took 2 days, but finally problem solved.

Caller ID & VoLTE/Advanced Calling not supported together

So Verizon just straight up released an update that added a feature that doesn't work with another feature. What the actual eff balls batman..
Advanced calling does not work with Caller ID, you have to choose one or the other which is complete bull crap.
Am I missing something because this is huge...

It breaks my heart that some of their bloatware broke with the rollout of one of their own features.
No really. I am weeping.
At any rate, Verizon didn't write the app, they just slapped their name on it and contracted to have it built. The app dev that they hired is the one who pushed it and probably didn't know any better.
I cannot tell you how many times I've compiled something, get ready to send it to the client and they are like, "oh, I found something else wrong" an hour after you release an update.
Found that out too. Lame. I installed true caller from Google play. Seems to do the same thing.

AT&T Visual Voicemail APK

Until Marshmallow is out I find it is nice to be able to use AT&T Visual Voicemail. I installed the APK I took from my old G4 and it works beautifully. Give it a try if you have AT&T
After I called my voicemail it took a few minutes (maybe 5) before it activated but it worked
Great job Josh!

This one is the one that comes standard on AT&T phones and I like the interface better. I think it works better overall unless the changed the one in the store since I tried it last. Compare the two and see which one you prefer. Much better UI IMO, the one in the play store looks terrible.
It looks different for sure. Some of the text is hard to read.
I'll try it out but the playstore version has been great.

This app is for U-verse or Unified Messaging, not straight up AT&T Wireless. There's another app called "AT&T Messages" that combines Text, VM and calls and are viewable as a thread by contact.

VZW Hiya phone apk

I've been using a Note 7 port on my Note 4 and have really enjoyed the integrated Hiya into the phone dialer. Of course VZW has disabled it for their own. Hiya has a stand alone app but I was curious if there's a way to take the unlocked phone app and install it on our VZW note 8. Thanks.

I didn't know there was any sort of integration in the past with hiya. Do you have an APK for that or was your phone rooted? That might be the reason. I don't know how the Standalone app works and if you have to make hiya the dialer of choice for it to work properly. If it's anything like mr. number I'd be over it
Don't think you can install the phone APK since it is probably a system app. So short of flashing it or rooting (both impossible right now) I don't think you can get it. Hiya's standalone app is crap. Obtrusive, nags a bit, not integrated into rest of the system. One of the reasons I got unlocked for my T-Mobile plan is to have proper caller ID without T-Mobile shoving their Name ID down my throat at $3.99/mo

That's what I figured, it being a system app so no way to install from another version. Thank you for the reply. Smart going unlocked! If it wasn't for the carrier trade in value I'd have done the same. Enjoy!
The unlocked versions have it intigrated.

If you're referring to the Hiya caller id/spam feature, it''s not just the phone app & there's a chance you may not even need it. It's enabled by cscfeature.

Without root, not possible. Verizon specifically blocks this feature cause they offer their own paid subscription caller ID service.

Reason why I'm still on T-Mobile. Verizon doesn't allow for GSM devices, aka unlocked bootloader phones. Really bothers my how even T-Mobile sells locked bootloader phones. Seems like Samsung and service providers don't care though since we don't represent the majority of consumers.
Here ya go guys, if you root then use this cscfeatures file, the caller ID and spam protection GETS ACTIVATED ALONG WITH EVERY OTHER FREE SAMSUNG FEATURE VERIZON DISABLED. Caller ID, search places, Samsung cloud, as well as a few others. Scroll through the thread and use the one Baggery77 modified for Verizon. It's a few pages in.

I did a dirty flash of the rom with that csc code and worked it worked with no issue. After a clean install, the option was still in setting andturned on, but it only says Identifiying caller information without giving a result on numbers it would normally work on. Any ideas?
