[REQ] LCD density changer - Nexus S Themes and Apps

I seriously need this for the NS. 240 looks too big coming from N1's 180. build.prop doesn't help. Any takers?

LCD Density Changer The App?
I am using the free one From thE Market and it works amazing. I have it set to 180 and there is much of a change. Widgets look really small tho! Give it a shot!

Yeah, it's on the market, and here on XDA

Thanks for the replies, guys. I'm too cheap to pay for something so simple. So, I whipped out the old adb pull, notepad++, and push method.

I'm using Launcher Pro. So, the widgets are resizeable.

Whoa 180 looks great!

180 is way to small, and also doesn't function right... I would press on something and a blue bar would pop up where I was touching.

wow i love this! thanks

280? You mean 180? Your sig says Desire Z. 280 would be giant on the NS, I'm using 215 and it looks nice. I noticed that anything other than stock 240 results in some banding issues on some window headers, such as the gray banner on the notification pulldown.

LOL, I tried out 280 to see what it looks like and the homescreen icons are so big they're rubbing up against each other.

I totally agree with the banding but I can't stand large text and the amount of icons you can fit in the 240. I have 5 home screens (5 icons x 8 icons each).

[APP][MOD]ICS launcher|3 screens|auto-rotate|Stock + CM9 Trebuchet versions

So this is essentially a combo between the stock ICS launcher + auto-rotate posted by bajansurfer and the 3 screen stock ICS launcher posted by matt_stang. what i'm posting is a 3 screen launcher which auto-rotates for landscape mode. I'm running oICSv26 and it works flawlessly (the app is actually sourced from koush's build). obviously i didn't create these mods, but only really combined them.
you should know what to do with this, not compatible with Gingerbread ROMs. rename to Launcher2.apk and push to system/app and set permissions or copy to system/app and set permissions to rw-r--r-- or:
Code:
x x -
x - -
x - -
in the root explorer permission grid.
download
updated with middle screen as default.
CM9 Trebuchet Launcher2 with 3 screens (includes preferences with enable/disable auto-rotate. version 0.1, Dock and Icons in preferences no workie)
Nice. Does having 3 screens use less Random Access Memory?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using Tapatalk
no idea, guess in theory it would but I don't know if it does in the real world. I just only need 3 screens.

I found one in aosp's thread with preferences option in it if you want to mod that one for three screen folks

BTW I'm in love with your wallpaper. Would you kindly post a link to it, please?
Also, is there a way to make the white backpanels' borders of the clock sharper, so it will look more "native HD" if you know what I mean?

wall paper attached i will turn this true hd shortly .. my aim was to get a fully working sense 4 widget on our xooms
Well, my friend, you did it right. This is the prettiest widget I've ever seen on a tablet.
Why does it look like this?

Happened to me too. Go to your launcher settings, enable resize all Widgets, then long press the widget to stretch out the hidden edges.

Thanks for porting this over to us non-sense users. It's looking stellar on my Xoom and figured I would try the white.apk on my gnex. The flip clock section is working just fine. It's the date/weather bar area i'm having issues with. The high/low temps overlap and the weather icon/background bar are smaller than they should be. What xml's and values would need editing to fix this?

Unfortunately, stock can only resize certain stock Widgets. If you still want to see how it looks just grab Apex Launcher off the market as the re-size option is on by default. Then just add the widget to the home screen, long press the widget until some options pop up, select re-size and resize until all the sides are visible.
Sent from my Xoom using Tapatalk
This was mainly for the Xoom as pics allows us to resize Widgets to you galaxy users I think u will have to try to make a slightly smaller version. Give ma a couple of hours I should have something to try out.. for all Xoom users resizable Widgets must be activated on your device

Decompile the API file and edit the widget main file...
You will need to edit low temp an high temp... change the dip from right.. an increase top value in only one of the hope this helps, unfortunately; im no good at trying to explain I will try to fix this for you also

Thanks for all the help with the widget_main.xml file to get it to scale to my GNex correctly. My Xoom and Gnex are looking great together.
Would it be cool if I posted the resized widget over on the Galaxy Nexus board with giving credit to LP for the base and this thread for your xoom port?

I finally after hours of work i have managed to port a Sense 4 Style Launcher to our Xoom this may not be everyone's cup of tea but i hope you like

See pics below and remember if you like please say thanks

Im pretty sure its 160 the standard DPI
Is this specifically made for tablets? I used 160 dpi and its to large, I went down and used 120 which seems really close but still off.
There is another one for 190 dpi which fits, but has some transition lag.
This as far as I could tell was super smooth even though it did not work properly on my device, droid incredible. Regular dpi 240.

Sorry this is specifically rebuilt for the Xoom and would need to be modded for other devices
If you send me a screenshot I can try to edit to fit your device

Keyboard resizing

Hey guys I know changing DPI works on some elements but one exception is the keyboard. Is there anyway to change the DPI of the Google keyboard?
Sent from my Nexus 6 using XDA Free mobile app
It can be done with app settings Xposed module on some keyboards but the ultimate effect will not be what you're wanting. It makes it smaller both horizontally and vertically and buttons generally don't line up properly

Its just the logical thing to do lol you change the DPI to make things smaller but the keyboard ruins that experience lol I hear the Swype keyboard has resizing built in but not sure to what extent and I'm not paying 99 cents no matter what for a keyboard lol

Change N6 screen to HD from QHD

I just dropped the resolution down using Terminal Emulator and changed the DPI and while the phone mostly looks good I have found it hard to get hotspots working with Zooper widgets. Does anyone have any advice about fixing this? Thanks
