Disable geotagging on captivate? - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I've done a few searches, both on google and on this forum about geotagging on the galaxy S and what people seem to be saying is that you have to disable location entirely? Both GPS and network location?
I have a rooted phone running the latest Cognition 2.2, sqlite and root explorer installed, is there really no setting I can change to disable adding GPS info to pictures I take?
I'd appreciate it if anyone who knows more about this could provide some input.

You need a different camera app if you wish to disable geo tagging while leaving GPS enabled for other apps. Though I have not used it, Camera 360 from the marketplace is supposed to have that ability. According to most reviews I've read, Camera 360 is far superior to other camera apps. There is a $3.99 version and a free version.

Phone Tracker

Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm struggling to find any tracker app that can actually provide my phones location. I've searched through the forum but can only find old posts.
All apps (lookout, wheres my droid, android lost) can all send messages to email accounts but none can pinpoint my position!
This used to work, I'm starting to think it must be a frozen app (that is needed) or ROM issue etc.
Has anyone managed to get their GPS position working?
I am on odexed JVR (with loads of apps removed/frozen)
Thx Dudes.
I would also like to hear about the same.
If you provide a list of the apps you have frozen, I'm sure someone could let you know whether or not one is necessary.
Personally, I use SeekDroid to remotely locate my phone, and I have absolutely no problem acquiring its GPS location.

Hmm... does Google Maps work? Or is your GPS troubles specific to those lost-phone-finding apps?
Google maps and navigation work really well, GPS accurate to 10m most of the time

Tasker/automateit?

Hi guys. This is my first nexus and I am loving it. I'm also loving lollipop and it's features.
However, one feature I've hated since I got the n6 is the fact that, even though I've rooted and unlocked the bl, that I can't get Tasker or Automateit to turn the phone GPS from "battery saving" to "high accuracy" when I launch Google maps.
I have gone into "Security - Apps with usage access" and authorized Automateit but Tasker never shows up in there. I have also downloaded "Secure Settings" from the play store but I admit I have never used it before so I'm not sure if I need to do something specific with it.
All I know is that when I was using any other OS up as far as kitkat, all I needed to do was have root and grant root access to Automateit and it would take care of switching on and off the GPS when I launched or stopped Google maps.
Can anyone please help me figure this one out?

Secure settings works. Once you enable the secure settings helper in the app you just use the plugin interface from tasker to toggle GPS.
Assuming you allowed root access to AutomateIt, you can configure a rule that uses the Set GPS State Action.
You might need to reboot your phone after that in order for the action to work properly.
Ok.... So here's something weird. Although I'd imported my rules into Automateit, they didn't work. I also could just not get Tasker to work no matter what.
But I uninstalled Tasker and secure settings, and uninstalled automateit. Then I restarted the phone, reinstalled automateit and manually created the GPS rules again from scratch instead of importing them and now it works perfectly!
I've never really liked Tasker, probably because I couldn't figure it out which is nobody's fault but my own, and I gravitated towards automateit but I thankfully got this issue sorted.
Thanks for the help guys

Unlocked/Rooted, Is there any way to change the twist motion to open Google Camera?

Running Lollipop, unlocked and rooted.
Is there any way to change which app gets launched (without the use of tasker)?
I know with Xposed you were able to do this but there is no Xposed on Lollipop.
If you mean autostart, then App Ops from the Play Store.
Should have been more clear.
The Quick Capture feature, where you twist the phone twice currently launches Moto's camera.
I downloaded the Google Camera and want to change my phone to launch the Google camera when i perform the double twist.
I would love to be able to do this as well. I am not a fan of the Motorola Camera.
From what I gather (I was looking at this exact issue myself previously) the quick capture feature is built into the Motorola camera itself instead of the ROM. So no, as of right now I don't think there is a way to do this.

Question [CLOSED]Hidden google apps

I recently found some hidden google apps on my Zenfone 8 that I had not heard about before...
Settings > Apps & notifications > See all apps > click 3 dots upper right corner of screen "Show system".....
I uninstalled these that I don't have a use for:
Companion Device Manager
Basic Daydreams
Google Assistant
Syndor Flipfont
And I force stopped many other apps (that could not be uninstalled) that I didn't see a use for.
There were other apps that I disabled wi-fi and mobile connections to.
I also use Netguard to control which apps have internet and mobile access. However Netguard shows vastly more system apps that I have no idea what they do - I leave these alone. It the moment I'm only trying to reduce the amount of surveillance built into a normal android phone.
I haven't heard of a published an up-to-date rundown of system apps that have no business sending data out of the phone? I know you can just disable all data out connections using Netguard and then spend the rest of your life figuring out which ones to enable to get a useable phone. Perhaps such a list is impractical as it may have to be tailored to each phone and OS? But there might be system apps common to recent android systems that could have the wi-fi and mobile data disabled?
Anything would help if I didn't have to fiddle around so much. The alternative is a degoogled phone. Many google play apps can work on these but there are several important ones I use that don't work and so far I have found no viable open source apps to replace them.

Maybe the apps that are not available are accessible as a web app? I personally never encountered an app that does not work on Lineage and OmniRom (currently on onmirom). Maybe thats because of MicroG. A bonus to roms is better battery life, I think thank to MicroG

Can you use Waze and google translate? I've tried the open source alternative to Waze but in the country I'm living in it's too clunky to use. I haven't found an open source alternative to translate (that can scan documents and items in the supermarket, translate them and do all the other things. I might buy a degoogled phone in the future as I don't want to get into the technicalities.

Question Ideal Google Feature config

Greetings
I am currently trying to get as many Pixel features as I can on my Pixel 7 (Germany).
ITs currently rooted with Pixelify installed - this activates Google Phone functions like Wait for me but DISABLES Google Photos stuff like magic eraser as well as the google assistant voice typing (greyed out and "Assistant isnt available" message)
Anyone knows a way to use basically all features simultaneously ? Can I somehow "force" all features to be enabled with another module ?
Thanks
Hello,
you may want to watch this thread: https://github.com/jacopotediosi/GoogleDialerMod/issues/51
It's possible to activate more features for the Google apps, but it's being researched
