Why are there so many without a battery cover? I noticed that when I was looking for mine.

just a reminder.
the cover will not be cheap as it will need to have the NFC antenna on it. else you can't use the NFC.
i believe this is the set-back for all other case manufacturer just to jump in a make one.

I doubt the antenna is expensive. This is what it looks like:

Do u have best buys black tie protection plan? If so u can call best buy an tell them u cracked ur battery cover or something an theyll send u a new one. Thats what i did

That's what I did as well. Or you could always go on ebay. They will run you around $15

How was dealing with the Geek Squad reps? Did they interrogate you and give you hard time? Were they the ones that suggested that they'll just send you a new or did you have to mention it? Also, did y'all get batteries from them too?

3rd party kick-stand battery cover?

Does anyone knows if there are any 3rd party battery covers with built-in kick-stands available?
It could probably be a slimmer than the official HTC kick-stand cover since it wouldn't involve a fatter battery.
Brgds... /Tubgirl
That would be great accessory even i am searching for.. but not sure why the third party manufacturers show no interest in making such battery covers.. whats the big deal ???

HTC is coming out with one in February (if you can wait for it), it is basically a larger battery pack+backcover that doubles as a kickstand
go to PocketPCNow's website and search for "HD2 kickstand"
It pretty much looks like my sister's HTC Evo kickstand designed for the HTC HD2.
You can pre-order them at clove (a UK site).
The downside is that the larger battery will hinder the phone in terms of fitting into whatever phone case/holster you currently have. Wish they'd build a slimline one similar to Evo.

You should be able to get it at a TMobile store, but this is what it looks like. For $11 plus $5 shipping, I'd rather just spend the extra $4 and not have to wait for however long it comes in the mail.

That's just not correct.
It DOES work on both versions of the HD2! (as stated in this review)
Since I never found a slim version of the cover I went ahead and got the full package with the extended battery included... I needed the extra battery power anyways I got it here.

Guys,
I am also looking for the kick stand cover without any extended battery...

Why can't HTC just sell us a battery cover replacement with that kickstand...

Cracked screen :( [pics]

Cracked it whilst trying to fix the screen separation ,stupid me.
Few weeks earlier I noticed the screen separation so I looked for a trusted guide on xda. I found one that told me to remove the back and to tighten all of the screws. I did so and the raised screen lowered.
A few weeks later(now) I saw that the problem had come back and it was pretty bad. So I did the same, took the back off and tightened the screws. Put it back on and turned it around, saw that it was still raised and decided to press down on it...that's when I heard the crack.
I guess to be careful guys, looks like tightening the screws makes the bezel fragile.
Luckily I paid an extra 20[edit:£30] for knowhow 'whatever happens' coverage for 2 years.
Rang them up on day of accident and got hold within 20 minutes. Service was very good and led me to a very understanding man. He said that someone will be here to pick it up Friday. No questions asked, he however was friendly folk and we spoke a bit, told me he is thinking of buying a nexus 7 and asked a few questions on it, he definitely knew about the haunted batch 1!

I have just remembered that I got it for £30 not £20, I came up with £20 after taking the £10 i saved from not buying it from google and doing the maths. Looking at the receipt the original price would have been £65 but the manager at the shop offered half price.

My screen cracked on my first Nexus 7, also. I had it leaning against the wall and for some reason it just fell forward and smacked on it's screen! Again, this wasn't a drop or anything, just standing on edge and falling flat on it's face. Cracked clear across the device. Of course, the Nexus was unresponsive.
I took it back to Office Depot and told the Manager what happened. Fortunately, he was very considerate and swapped it out for a brand new Nexus 7. The new one is perfect. I keep it in a protective case now!

I've dropped mine many times, out of the car door, off my lap when getting up. Hell I've even knocked it off the garden table and it hasn't got a single scratch. Glad I got the expensive but snug fitting official grey case. seems to have done some good. .

That gives us an idea of the insane profit margins they get out of these things.
I've tried one of those out at a vendor in a mall. The magnet is too strong and will turn your screen off if you hold it with the cover folded back. Just a warning.

watch out for the lead poisoning when you read things like chemical smell its not a good sign. you can buy $1 cases out of china or $20 it depends on what its made out of. remember there is no EPA there. you can buy quality crayons for you kids or the ones that contain lead. Its one thing putting a lead painted statue in your yard but a case that is in constant contact with your hands good luck

I agree and am not arguing with you, but I'm just wondering if you can name any hazardous material that isn't lead.
most if not all these low tech gadget accessories are made from similar materials at more or less crappy working environments by workers that are not so well compensated, that's just business, no sense of over compensating someone when you get get the same for less
point being that you could have paid 20 bucks for a case yet you will never know for sure if they mistreat their worker or used materials that are otherwise harmful to your body
while i see your point, i guess the false sense of getting better quality when paying extra or by buying brand name is something that i disagree with
by the way, it is just a tablet case, not a baby feeding bottle or health supplement, even if they did use something that can possibly be harmful to our body, i doubt it will have any significant health effects before the case or tablet become obsolete
my 2 cents

with this case thats false it does not do that. i have the case and love it. and the smell everyone is talking about is due to the fact its fake leather fyi and its in a tight package. ive had mine for a while now the odor smell went away after a day being out of the package.
GreatDad said:
sorry not a chemist but it just kills me how people look at price rather than quality, i appreciate a bargain but having been to China and seen the difference in materials used not to mention the work conditions of the workers that make these low quality low priced products i tend to stay away from them. There are many factories back there that use quality materials that meet are standards and treat thir workers right, thus higher costs.

These cases are polyurethane, and that's the "chemical smell". It's normal.

Samsung Genuine Flip Cover / Flip case - Cheapest shop?

They are available for 37.99€ at:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/search/?searchterm=note+2+flip
...but has any one found them somewhere cheaper?
http://www.handtec.co.uk/search.php?xSearch=note+2+flip&submit=search+for+products
Out of stock at the moment but a bit cheaper.
clove.co.uk has the white and grey ones only (both currently out of stock, expected "late november") for £24.99. However +£3 UK delivery brings it up to £28.59 (still cheaper than the above, in the UK at least)
I'm hoping that we can get these cheaper from US retailers once US carriers release the phone.
I couldn't wait so got the white one from mobile fun now all I need is my best skins ever body cover hope they get it quick time.

Crikey... Their delivery charges are way off the chart! Good job the product prices are low!
The china knock offs have been popping up on ebay if you want a much cheaper alternative. The quality is not as good as the genuine but for USD7 or so, cant complain.
Here's one i found http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Hard-Me...941151?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item20cc43ae9f
^ I'd be pretty dubious about that one. No mention of an NFC antenna... Also, title says metal but description says not.
Yeah gonna need some more pictures at least, I can't tell if it clips on over the back or replaces it.
Can't fault Lambda-tek, ordered yesterday afternoon & arrived this morning at 08:30 - even beat the postman.
Yes delivery charge is ridiculous but overall works out cheaper then anywhere else I could find.
I am waiting for MobileFun to get the orange or blue ones in stock.
I prefer back cover with screen protector.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but is it possible to replace the digitizer only?
My kid dropped my Moto Maxx and touch / capacitive buttons stopped working. LCD is perfect and there isn't even a scratch. I saw a teardown video but couldn't see a separate flex cable for the digitizer. Can you send me a link to the glass you bought?
EDIT: Maybe it's one of those two?

I got a full assembly replacement in aliexpress for about 155 maybe is cheaper these days, I dont recommend to replace just the digitizer is a really hard task. If you can get the replacement with the frame buy that one, the glue in the lcd was very hard to remove, I assembly the part with a thin filament of glass silicone, let the screen with some clamps all night
