Any screen protectors that are square? - Galaxy Tab Accessories

I bought some screen protectors for my EVO from the Sprint store that were the exact size of the actual LCD screen that didn't cover any of the buttons at the bottom and was super easy to apply because you don't have to try and line up holes and curves, etc...
I just got a tab and would like to have the same type for it as well. Is anyone familiar with this type and if they are available? Thanks!

The anti-glare/fingerprint protectors that I picked up at Verizon were like this.

I bought the zagg invisable shield and it is the size of the entire front of the tab, two small wholes for the camera and light sensor. but don't buy tha zagg it is a piece of ****, its bumpy and scratches easily.

Why would you put a screen protector on gorilla glass?
These things are teenager proof, my kids are relentless on tech gadgets and havent scratched the tab yet.
Just saying

Clarivue screen protectors are damn good.

Just got one for my Milestone, and must say very impressed with the Clarivue screen protectors.
Not only are they actually made in Japan (I can tell since labels are also in Japanese), they give you two, along with a wet wipe.
Was very easy to apply. The Anti-Glare one I got does reduce clarity significantly but at the same time appears to be completely finger-print proof.
It's on special (at the moment), and got a 10% discount coupon from my first purchase so think I might buy another pack (this time the ultra-clear one)
http://www.clarivue.com/motorola-milestone-screen-protector.html
I have Clarivue screen protector on my Milestone also, and it's perfect. The second one I put perfect, the first one still had some dust beneath. Anyway for the money I prefer Clarivue instead Boxwave.
Do you see any orange peel with the screen saver?
whaaat 11$? no way, just go to ebay and check those sellers from HK - you can get these things pretty cheaply (even ten times cheaper)...
I've got the cheapest antiglare on earth for my milestone as I hate fingerprints and also with the antiglare it seems like it is easier to swipe fingers across the screen as they don't "stick" to the default glossy screen.
However I get pretty weird colors probably because of refraction characteristics of the protector. Even though - pros>cons.
Can you suggest any seller for the HK one? At least you tried them already.

Look good! But does the milestone really need a screen protector?

If you keep your phone in a "sleeve" or you don't use the phone in dirty conditions - I would say - it doesn't need a screen protector.
However I use a matte protector for two reasons:
-it feels better, my fingers "sticks" to too shiny surfaces like milestone and with the matte protector I think it feels more smooth to swipe across the screen
-no finger prints!
I totally agree. Mine right now sucks. I'd like to try the matte.

The Milestone has a gorilla glass display thats very hard to scratch! It is harder than most metals and there are videos on youtube of people trying to scratch gorilla glass with keys and pens, but fail to do so... so its kinda pointless adding a protector as it will only detract from the smooth feel of the gorilla glass. It will reduce the sensitivity of the touch screen. It is counter productive!

You can find it on google - its a pretty well known fact - The Droid and the Milestone were amongst the first cell phones to use Gorilla glass on the display - youtube should have a bunch of videos too.
But you should understand - this only makes it very hard to scratch the glass - any material that has a hardness value higher than the gorilla glass can scratch it.
I was using a screen protector for a while but I got fed up with it after a while and took it off. The cover I used diffracted the light from the screen caused a slight rainbow effect and was less sensitive to the touch. One of the reasons I chose the milestone is because of the capacitive touchscreen and the cover made it almost as bad as an old resistive screen!
My screen is still scratch free dispite living in my pocket, although the metal around the screen has a few nicks. Gorilla glass is impressive there are some demos on the net like this one http://vimeo.com/8602963
The rainbow effect was because it was anti-glare. With clear protector you shouldnt get any difractions. Also the clear protectors are thinner so you get better sensitivity.
How are you protecting your screen from looking all smudged? And don't your finger "stick" to the glass without matte protector? Because for me that's even worse than having less sensitivity.
Yes the screen permantly has a bunch of fingerprint marks, although I don't notice them much. This will probably bother me more in summer when there is more sunlight around.
I find my fingers do the opposite of stick, they glide over the glass, with protectors I didn,t like the extra friction.
I appreciate it is down to personal preference.

I'm sorry to say that, but Gorilla Glass has one weak point, dust... Dust and sometimes sand have quartz and quartz still is harder than GG. My Milestone has survived so many falls but once, and just once, it slipped in the floor and one small spec of dust fell of the speaker grill and the screen got a tiny scratch from that single spec of dust.
It is hard to scratch it, but not impossible. Today I use a Invisible Shield and I'm happy with it, no more scratchs.
Here I use the phone only in a Noreve leather case... I dropped it only one time, the cover was open and the Stone felt with the screen on the floor and I got 2 tiny scratches on the amazing GG 8-|... I'm using a cheap screen protective film now ^^.

Screen protector question

Hello Everyone,
I've ordered several different screen protectors from different brands over the last weeks for my G2 but they all seem not to fit.
I have a white European T-mobile version D802 and all of them do not cover the screen completely. The screen protector does not cover the sides 100% and have a space of 3mm uncovered, from the top or bottom it is about 5mm. This is including the parts (forgot name for this) where's no touchscreen.
Is it supposed to be like this or am I having bad luck in choosing protectors?
I would like to have a protector that covers the entire front, could any of you point out a good one?
Thanks everyone!

The screen is curved on the edges, its not possible to cover it 100 percent as it would show and it wont stick on the edge and you will notice the protector easier + dust.
Anyway if you wanna get the flipcover you absolutely need the protector. The flip is a bad design as it is ... scratched the screen and now the protector as well... Who thought to make the inside of the window plastic or metallic was an idiot... (its harder as the soft "pillow" and every dust speck or anything between is automatically going to scratch the screen)

Understand.
In that case it covers the top to bottom part of the touchscreen, but still on the sides the touchscreen is not covered completely by 2mm +/-

The ZAGG protector is really good in covering 99% of the phone and with the protector being a wet-application it will stick with the curved screen. only problem is that it has the orange peel look and feel.
Edited:
OH and if you do order the Zagg protector don't order the back protector...it doesn't fit properly...

good luck. It doesn't mean indestructible. Only harder to scratch...

I have many friends that were thinking that their phones have a pristine surface. No scratches.."THINKING"
You should not care about what you do not see though.
I just said that the FlipCover is a bad design... (very bad) and the glass not indestructible. Also under some circumstances likes to get scratched.
Also @citytrader sorry, but sand you can find anywhere ... Just try to travel between Cairo and Alexandria and see in which places on your body you will find Sand.....

Glass Screen Protector list

Because of the sides of the screen being curved, many glass screen protectors on the market don't address this and are flawed. I'm going to keep a list of the ones that I have tried and will keep updating the thread with any progress. As the title reads this is for the tempered glass screen protector, not film, not 'flexible glass.' Tempered glass is the only I use.
Tried:
EzGuardz
Edges did not adhere.
Ghostek
A bit wider than the EzGuardz, covers more of the glass, and cutouts are better...but edges don't adhere once again.
I suspect the reason why none of these adhere is because they haven't addressed the fact that the edges of the screen are curved downward. They can easily fix this by have the edges of the screen protector end where the glass begins to curve.
All these are on my Moto Maxx which is equivalent to the Droid Turbo.
If anyone orders other ones please feel free to chime in and I'll update the first thread with the info.
So, EZGuard also does not adhere to the edges of the screen.
Other than that is pretty good.
Feels like it has some kind of oleophobic coating.
With a Gorilla Glass screen, and a 1 use free screen replacement from Verizon, are screen protectors really needed?

Gorilla glass does not equal scratch resistant, I work in the mobile industry and every one of our demo phones have scratches on it, also it definitely doesn't mean it's shatter resistant. The screen replacement applies to the droid turbo if you have Verizon, a good number of people are using it outside of Verizon's network. And I personally have the moto maxx so again, doesn't apply. I've had screen protectors on every one of my phone's that were touch screen.

Wow, I've been using Phones with Gorilla Glass since I moved to Verizon with the D1 and never scratched the screen, but I also never carry it in the same pocket as my keys. To each their own, my wife has used glass screen protectors sold to her by the rep and the one time the protector shattered, when they removed the protector at Verizon they scratched the screen removing the shattered glass. Of course a new protector and she never noticed.

The digitizer isn't built into the screen? Huh always kinda figured they were.
I've had people come in saying the same as you, but they never look closely until it's pointed out. I bet you there are hair line scratches on the screen. Anything from bits of sand to fibers that are just the right hardness will leave a mark on the glass
But if these people don't notice then who cares?
But they notice after its been pointed out, which in turn they always get a screen protector. A small scratch may not appear to be much but it still reduces the integrity of the screen. Besides a $10-$20 screen protector which protecting a $200 screen... You do the math.

There was a white spot on the top near headset and parts of the edges (on all 4 edges) didn't stick, small enough to call them 'slivers' of bad adhesive.

Looking into a glass screen protector as well.
Got any recommendations?
Just installed a Mimeusa tempered glass today, was a-bit disappointed. Maybe it's part of a bad batch but the edges and camera cutout are not adhering evenly. Its very noticable towards the bottom, lifting between the home a back button.
Ordered Mimeusa before for my Oneplus one and it installed great. Hopefully I can get an answer from customer service.

Yep! It follows the screen edges exactly, coming right out to the rounded edges of the screen. The cutout for camera and sensors is spot-on, as well. It's a match. I should note that I have the exact same areas (at the very top of the screen, and a small spot at the bottom, between the home & back buttons) that don't want to adhere as I did with the iVoler. It's apparently got more to do with my screen than the protector that's on it. Anyway, these BodyGuardz are available at your AT&T store, and probably elsewhere as well, and the warranty on them is a big plus compared to an Amazon-purchased iVoler that might take 3-4 weeks to arrive from Shengzhen.
So are there any glass protectors that adhere to the edges?

Tempered Glass Screen Protectors

As with any phone, this is a pretty hot topic and I expect no less from this phone.
Please share your experiences with tempered glass screen protectors in this thread so they do not clutter the forum.
Coming from the Nexus 6, tempered glass screen protectors were a nightmare . the curved screen made them have a halo effect and caused proximity sensor issues. I'm hoping this phone is not going to be the same.
Personally I just ordered the Spigen glass.tr slim for my phone.. It can be found for 9.99 + free shipping on amazon currently. I will be reporting back with my review once I receive it and my phone.
I've had bad luck with the tempered glass protectors. On both my Nexus 5 and my Nikon DSLR, I've had the tempered glass break - no damage to the screens themselves, just broken screen protectors. No thanks.
I'd say they did their job then ... Seems they protected your phone from breakinh

How many here got tempered glass instead of regular screen protector?

Hello,
So I have had been using Jettech tempered glass for my Note 5 since I got it last year and recently saw a crack on it and I was like how the heck I was like let me see if it's on the screen and
lol the whole thing cracked.
So I had a set of screen protectors at home for note 5 and I put that one. Now it's thin and doesn't even feel like there anything on the screen and the screen looks so beautiful colors and all but I'm worried-do we really need tempered glass protectors?
I've seen knife tests and all and this phone survives without any struggle so shouldn't this screen protector be enough?
What do you guys think? I do have a Spigen case on it-with in-built shock absorber and what not.
It depends on how anal you are. I assure you you will get a scratch at some point.
I got tempered glass because I didn't want a peice of plastic. Recently I watched a video about tempered glass and saw tempered glass can take a hit. If the tempered glass is hit at a specific way/angle then it shatters. But it can defiantly take a hit and prevent scratches

I understand but my question is should I get tempered glass or I'm fine with screen protector I have.
I already put one on but it's not tempered it's the regular one. Not sure how durable this is but my screen definitely looks better lol maybe because it's not that thick haha
Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. If you have a decent lip on your case I don't think the glass buys you a whole lot. With a slim case without much lip, I think they have saved my phone's screens a couple of times.
I'd say go for glass. Plastic is plastic. Glass a few dollars more for a reason)
Tempered glass here
Sent from my SM-N920T using XDA-Developers mobile app
I got the zagg plastic xtreme I think...comes with front and back protect.
It is nice on the back too...no more fingerprints.
I don't have any scratches yet. I can sort of rub light scratches right out...kind of cool.
Tempered glass will give you the height protection against scratches and impact, better clarity, last longer, better feel in hand sometimes better feel then the glass phone itself, less fingerprints. Tg is also better then a "shatter film" because it has better ratio between scratches and impact resistance.
There is no debate here...
I have tempered glass just because its clearer than plastic and is easier to clean. Its not super thick so i dont really mind also for the extra protection on such a exspensive phone.
Sent from my SM-N920W8 using XDA-Developers mobile app
Tempered glass is the best way to go. It provides better protection, is very hard to scratch, doesnt impact optics, and is easier to apply. No brainer.
I'd stick with what we all know, tempered glass. Just purchased the Note 5 from a private party seller and luckily it didn't have many scratches from the previous owner NOT having a screen protector on.
Purchased the glass and am loving it.
They're cheap AF on amazon and as good of quality as the $50 ones in stores.
Well I dropped my phone from pocket height yesterday, it fell face down, and sure enough I seen a crack across the screen. I am using the caselogy that covers the edges, so when I peeled back the tempered glass...it was just the temperd glass cracked. Ordered a new 1 on eBay for 5 dollars, this glass lasted 4 months
Ok guys- even though when I bought the phone new I had tempered glass on it and I was just lazy to order another one since I already had regular screen protector with me.
I'll order one - It's by company JTtech - 9.99 on Amazon prime.
I just got lazy and to be honest- the tests on youtube shows that the bare screen of the phone is very resilient so I shrugged it off.
I'll order it today. I also have Spigen case on with raised edges.
I've got about 6 different tempered glass screen protectors because I can't stand the feel of the plastic screen protectors...
Mind you the screen on my note 5 is a freaking joke. I went about a month without a screen protector and my screen is scratched to all hell. And that's just from pocket use... So in the end it doesn't matter which one you go with, just use a screen protector.
It's not entirely how anal you are. I haven't used them in years and never had a problem because I would always keep my phone in a pocket which I was sure was empty. However I tried an oleo phobic tempered glass screen protector from Benks. It is hard to get it on perfectly, but it is great in that the screen is much more slippery for the swipe keyboard usage and also it never shows fingerprints on the screen any more. (Also this is not as important but I like it that it removes/hides/covers up the obnoxious 'Samsung' logo.) If you but them, buy more than one because if you mess up putting it on then you have a spare (which you would eventually use anyway). I recently dropped my phone for the first time and freaked out - but my case and the Benks tempered glass protector together completely protected the phone - with a big crack across the screen - which disappeared when I peeled off the protector!

Tempered glass screen protectors are the way to go. The only way tempered glass can crack or break is if the edge or corner is hit (I should know, i work with tempered glass everyday) and since these protectors are so thin, there is only a fine edge on it, nearly impossible to hit with something, even though i had something hit that fine edge at work. i get all my tempered glass protectors off Amazon, $4 - $7, as compared to $35 for a Zagg temp glass protector in stores, or even $25 for a plastic protector.
Tempered glass is best
But does anyone have the halo? I put mine on perfectly centered and I've got a hell of a halo. I was wondering if there's no halo with a plastic screen protector. That would be one reason to vote for plastic.

On my second tempered glass, and haven't seen any halos.
