[ROM NIGHTLIES] CM7 not by crackflashers or cm just straight nightlies - Droid Incredible Android Development

I am aware that there is a thread about crackflashers makeing nightly builds. I repect their thread and have nothing against it since I did not really try their rom yet.
I am compiling CM7 for the evo as well just i want to hlp those non compilers get a non tweaked 100% stock CM7 Nightly.
I will be makeing add ons such as battery % and things of that nature.
They will not be prebuilt but instead will be add-ons
For now i do not have an INC to test the builds myself (hopefully i will after donations! : )
Someone with an INC and good wifi spee please PM me to become my official nightly tester. I will be compiling everyday and will actually be makeing a changelog.
First build will be comeing tonight i just need a tester. It is already compiled just need someone.
Follow me on Twitter for early releases and live changelogs. Also will be able to give you guys live help through XDA and Twitter.
I am not starting a war just want to help those who actually want a changelog, some help when needed and some fun add-ons.

-Nothing but stock

Thread closed for cleaning and to determine whether it should be re-opened at all. Not too happy about a dev that doesn't own the device he's cooking for. May not be any word till tomorrow PST.

Any news about official CyanogenMod for mini?

Does anyone have new news about official cyanogenmod for galaxy mini???
is there gonna be official cyanogenmod for galaxy mini???
I don't have any news, but official means nothing special I think..source merged so our mini's source will be automatically updated....and some1 has to just compile it n give us a link to download. Think the official part does just that.
It's not going to be built again.

So? How long will it takes?

Hopefully all bugs should be fixed in the official version.
Yes, you guyz are right... All known bugs will be fixed in official version. Also, now the developers at the cyanogen team will take care of the upgrading our code and then provide cm7 for download to flash in our rom... Our device support is included in one of the nightly build (and all releases after that too.). But don't know when will they release a stable build. Maybe within a month or two --not sure--............
Let's wait and see!!!
so after one month I'm asking myself the same question...does anyone have news about official cyanogenmod? they seem to have forgotten about us...
Maybe they will provide official version for CM9 !!

yeah. I hope that too...
I don't think there is going to be official build.
They can only do that when they have the device..tj's source was merged so the changes could be synced automatically.
But now they are working on cm9 so it's back to square one.
Official or not it doesn't matter..even official build have bugs.
If it's official u won't have the extra features that squadzone's cm7 has.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Squad's one is a release candidate, which means that is candidate to be an official release...I think that it will be official, but the team will work on it only after cm9 release for the other devices...
Is it right?

I think you should ask either CyanogenMod team or squadzone himself.
Being official doesn't necessarily mean it's bug-free.

You are right for the most part, however the saying you can't get extra features squadzone's cm7 has is not totally correct.
Squadzone himself is a member of team hacksung (which is Cyanogen depart. for Samsung devices -according to squad). So, you can consider his releases as nightly build for official CM7. Also, squad is only building rom from cm7 source code which is now merged with our's too whenever it is updated (and it is done daily) for other devices. So, basically it means all these features are from official rom and you could get them even if the rom was released by somebody else.
The one benefit of being official is that our cm7 source code is updated by CM Team members so we can also get all the new features when squad zone compile and release the builds.
@yagya
U mean the center clock and similar stuffs are there on official builds?
Afaik those are added by squad/teamhacksung and devs as per their wish and not a part of the official builds.

what i meant was this(may not have been clear) :
firstly some dev does some mod.
secondly others use it, if good then it is submitted to gerrit.
thirdly it is reviewed, merged and becomes official.
yes. i totally understand...was just looking at it.
but some are not agreeing to it...looks like it'll take time for all of them to be merged.
I don't know, may be it's will come soon

cyanogen nightly so old...

Why the last nightly is one month old?
Thank you
They are finishing up the final cm7 for release I think. And they are busy with cm9 right now..
*Kingpin... get it?*
It's more because of big hardware problems on CM servers.
You can find up to date compilated CM7 in the 'Kang CM7' thread; commits and modifications are still published in CM7 sources, and you can find there people compiling those and sharing (if you hae aLinux computer could be a good challenge to compile by yourself, even I managed to do that lol).

[DISCONTINUED][ROM] Unofficial CM 7 Nightlies [Android 2.3.7/GWK74]

Introduction
Welcome to the Unofficial CyanogenMod Nightlies for the HTC Tattoo
The build is compiled from the latest cyanogen/github repos using the slightly tweaked device files.
Notes
This build is Unofficial work, not related to arco, kalim or CyanogenMod nightlies. Please do not report bugs to CyanogenMod for anything that is provided as part of this thread. I created this so that we all can updates to anything that CyanogenMod updates, bug fixes or enhancements.
Use this at your own risk. I will not be accountable if this causes you phone to fail, or you lose your data. The backup of your data is your responsibility.
General Info
The releases will co-inside and the build start time is at 02:01 GMT, and by 03:00 GMT the builds should be uploaded. If at anytime the builds are not there, then there was a problem building the ROM, and I will have a look at it ASAP.
I use this as my daily driver, so I will know if it didn't compile; so please don't add another post to mention the fact it isn't compiled.
Below You will find Download Links for Each Build and Instructions on how to install it.

I use a different method, where my proprietary libs are extracted and public on http://github.com/arif-ali/android_vendor_htc_click
I don't use extract-files.sh, even then, there is a problem with that as well, as that is trying to extract akm8973, which doesn't exist. So I am presuming it is the akmd service that I may be needing.
Although I've had my Tattoo for more than 2 years now, I haven't really developed for it, so now I am getting into it, and trying to find out all the nitty gritty stuff to get everything to compile correctly for the Tattoo

Here are proprietary libs of tattoo including akm since the script is impossible to pull of the phone.
Do you think it's worth the trouble porting ice cream sandwich to our tattoo?
I saw some vidoes on youtube about ics on the htc desire (!!).. they are slow as our tattoo with gingerbread. or even more.
So i don't think ics is usable on the tattoo.
Maybe it's better investing more time in fixing bugs, improving cm7 for our tattoo (like better battery time or make it faster with some kernelhacks) or adding some new features than wasting time on ics.

[UNOFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 9 for Incredible S

Saw a lot of people posting about CM9 the past month, some were hoping it is official released or supported. It won't happen until awhile more for an official update. here's an unofficial build:
I just sync and built with the vivo device tree, only changes from stock CM9:
- kernel (kaijura) - without it: no panorama, updated kernel drivers, etc
- added usb
What may be fixed later or can be done:
- merge twistedumbrella's camera code to enable camera
- add rotating keys (st.matt)

Just tried the gapps 02 07 2012 version. Yep works fine so far for gmail, market and YouTube HD.
Following CyanogenMod 9 Blog from Cyanogen himself, he said a few words on the directions of the project:
http://www.cyanogenmod.com/blog/progress-on-cm9
So it seems like from what I understand what he says, we might not get official support for camera and video until the IncS HTC ICS release, which is supposed to be wayy later this year.

This is cyanogenmod team, so you get an idea of how far the cm9 team has progressed with ICS. Some people have been with CM since the old G1 days you know?
Yeah its definitely not a daily but it is pretty cool to check out. Once our phone has an official ICS ROM from htc you can bet cm9 will be official for vivo. It's more of a peek at what's to come. I swear by cm so if we don't get official support I would be amazed and disappointed.

People believe the target may be Qualcomm instead of HTC. There has been a long discussion on this at the DesireZ forums and lots of people emailed, you can read its progress here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20970354
I updated the CM9 KANG build to Feb'18 2012. Lots of commits and fixes, too much to list. Some minor changes but getting more and more stable now.
In other works, I have also ported a very popular DHD ICS ROM Ice Cold Sandwich from the Desire HD section with permission from LorD ClockaN and some help from vampire36 who ported it to the Desire S.
So far, it works fine on release 2.0, it uses some sources from CM9 and community fixes.
But I need to tweak it a little to get it working smoothly, there are some minor things wrong with it and camera is not working right at the moment. If people are crazy about it I'll try to get a fully functional rom up sometime.

[AOSP] Who should I be following as the better AOSP. CM or FreeXperia?

Hey so I love that we have AOSP for my Sony = Sony Nexus!!
But who should I be following as the cutting edge of AOSP. I know Sony releases some sources but not the proprietary ones so I know most of it comes from there. I myself have just installed the latest RC3 of CM 10.1. And the bugs I used to have like Lockscreen delay and No audio on Hangouts seem to have gone. But why should I install FreeXperia over CM?
Is CM the base that everyone bases their AOSP on? Is Free Xperia more focused on the Sony Specific Issues?
And what about Linaro? Carbon? AOKP? Are they all based off the same source (they all seem to have the same bugs)
Thoughts? Direction?
Thanks in advance!
First of all, CM roms are made by the FXP team as they are official CM maintainers for Sony devices.
Secondly, Sony's AOSP sources are different from that of CM sources. AOSP implies pure android with stock customizations. CM sources is heavily customizable (think of all the settings you can do in CM10.1) they are based on Google's open source as well as the device specific source code released by Sony.

I too would like to know this - obviously, they're very close, but there must be something different there.
I spent an hour trying to find this out the other night - got slightly excited when I saw a message from some poor sucker who explained he was a noob, etc, blah, blah, and would someone please explain the difference. The only reply he got was a terse demand that he go read the FreeXperia dev thread and work it out for himself ...
If someone can write an explanatory sentence or two about the difference between the builds on the official Cyanogen Mod site and the FXP* builds from freexperiaproject.com, I would appreciate it.

hey man, I had forgotten that I had made this thread but long story short FXP and CM are the same. CM has their own schedule, standards and code they develop and CM work towards AOSP for all their devices. FXP are SONY only, They use the code by CM and are responsible for both the Sony releases via CM and FXP. How FXP differs is that they can go ahead and release a lot of versions without any established "stable" or milestones they just release updates as they go. CM take those Sony specific changes that are made and combine them standard CM code are release Milestones, RC's and Nightlies with varying results
TLDR: They are the same, All the Sony specific code in CM is FROM FXP, FXP has no interest in making a stable version they just release new code in an almost "nightly" fashion. Their is no guarantee that the newest FXP will be more stable then the previous, its the same risk you take when you go with CM nightlies.
Personally I prefer CM Nightlies. If you want stable (with established bugs) go with CM, if you want to be running the latest CM code go with CM but if you want the latest sony fixes (unstable at times) go FXP, who updates about 1 every 1-2 weeks
Great explanation mate, thanks for that.
