Is this normal? xdAndroid does not see sd card and headphones do not work. - Touch Diamond2, Pure Android Development

I have a problem with xdandroid, can not see sd card! (eg media player or image viewer) card is formatted to FAT32.
But the "Android With HTC Sense, 3D and sound (by LENINred)", see the sd card!!!.
Does anyone have a similar problem? anyone knows how to solve it? or is it normal?
thanks
additions: on the xdAndroid headphones do not work, but on "Android With HTC Sense, 3D and sound (by LENINred)" works
I have both used the same latest kernels

First: Try to format your sd once again and put all of the files to the root.
Second: Try this:
"Headset
"snd.force_headset=X"
1=USB headset
2=3.5mm headset
"
it' from the official xdandroid-thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=509493) --> this solved headphone issue for me. ;-)

forgot to say: you have to copy the text to the startup text. paste it there

startup.txt
I add the snd.force_headset=2 into the startup.txt and save it. I boot Android and it's not fixing the headset sound problem. When I go back to the startup.txt file, the snd.force_headset=2 command is gone. What am I doing wrong?

@ Honzac353
Go to boot-loader,plug the usb-cord into pc.Systemmanager will found an new device.
After that can can sync again with mobile-device-center.

It was because of tomtom it was open while i connected to pc.
Guess it created cause there was no interal storage
a new folder so the diamond changed the original to 2.
I deleted the new one and the Diamond changed the name back again.
Thank you so much !! for solving that problem and write about it on this board. I have had the same problem for 3 weeks now, been in contact with HTC support without getting any answer to my problem.

Audio Library screwup

i installed an old memory card and it installed all the mp3s on it into the library, which is fair enough but when i deleted the songs i didn't want, they remained in the library and i cant see how to remove them. can anyone help?
Soft-reset.
tried that, still there!
i'm tempted to do a hard reset but i dont want to have to reinstall everything everytime i remove an mp3

Try going into the standard windows mobile media player and select update library from the right soft menu.
it's the HTC Audio Manager library that's my problem, cant remove the tracks that don't exist anymore, wmplayer is fine!
I have just deleated a mp3 and my audio manager removed it, are you sure its not duplicated somewhere else on the card?

Don't know if this working, you can try the folowing:
1. Go to the root directory, "Application Data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\"
then rename "AudioManager_Eng.vol" to anything.
2. Softreset,
3. Go back to this folder, you will find there is a new AudioManager_Eng.vol generated, del the old one which you had rename to something else previously.
4. Check your library again, it should work
It is working on Diamond.

That worked great, thanks very much. My friend thinks one of my old mp3's must have had an older id tag and could have corrupted the database structure.
not pissed off with my TD2 now

It has to do with the album art and\or the ID3 tags, I believe.
Do a search for "manila music stops after 3 seconds" and you'll find a few threads addressing this issue and the fixes for it.
PLS give me a link or something like that because i can't find nothing that can be useful on me HTC TD 2
Many different solutions with that search:
Here's one.
More here:
and the list goes on.
Those things didn't work for me,I've try also to copy mp3-s with activsync ,try with different sd card and the problem is there on new music tab also and on Duttys roms and all other with the new sense can you help me and is there solution except to back to older version of the rom?
Did you remove all of the album art and make sure all files are not read only?
Yes ,i did it few times,but the problem is still there .i've found one solution ,but it's stupid and useless-it's to put mp3-s in internal memory and remove the sd(only then it works) or to put max 3 mp-3s on sd

I don't remenber where is it in the registry, but you need to modify paths where your mp3 are, internal and memory card, in this case it's crash because where you put your mp3 on the memory card isn't the correct path in registry; do this with 6.5 and 2.5 sense.

Try this, in registry go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\Information\
albumart_update_failure= 0
albumart_update_success= 0
albumart_updating= 0
albumArtPath= Remove Value
available_storage_card= Storage Card;
With mp3s on SD card, set the following value to a specific song
path= (eg., \Storage Card\My Music\Songname.mp3)
Soft reset and see what happens.
This is not working
Try this:
With file explorer go to
My device\Application data\HTC\AudioManager_Eng\
delete file "AudioManager_Eng.vol" and make a soft reset.

The last one should have fixed it.
You may want to consider a hard reset or refomat your SD card.
These are all the known fixes for this issue.
Sorry.
maybe you can check your mp3s one by one. i had nearly the same problem. the reason was one special mp3 album that made the player stop after some seconds/minutes. i deleted all the mp3s on my sdcard and copied them one by one / album by album on my sdcard and checked every time if the player stops after a while. at least i found the album / mp3s that were corrupted...

Hello guys ,like all of you i am a Htc fan and i had the same problem on my touch diamond...After many tryes i did solved this problem for me.
Try this and it should work and please post a reply if it works for you too
1-Go to youre music folder (path with all the music) and delete all the songs bigger than 10,5 Mb.
2-Go in device memory "Application Data"->"Htc"->"AudioManager_Eng" and there you will find a folder called "Playlists" and a file "AudioManager_Eng.vol"
3-Delete this folder "Playlists" ,and rename "AudioManager_Eng.vol" as you wish ,Eg. "asdfdasd".
4-Reboot your device and the player sohould be fine after a long seach for music.
5-For all the operation i ussed TotalCommander.
I hope it will work for all of you.
TotalCommander

How to fix non looping Ringtone?

Anyone know how to make ring tones loop?
I say this as I am using the Incubus froyo build and when I set it to the Digital Ring (not a custom ring tone) , it only tones once.
This, as you can imagine is quite annoying, anyone know why or how to fix this? Others must be dealing with this problem.
This was talked about before but I'll have to look for it, from what I remember you need to open it in an audio editor and there's some kind of "loop" tag that is set to false on Digital Ringtone. I'll see if I can find the post (unless somebody beats be to it)
EDIT: Here's the post
and HERE is an archive with all the files already looped
Use Bell phone its close. Sorry I don't have a better solution.

Thanks for the link. I remember this being an issue in the past (I have used Android since the beginning). I remember putting the media folder on the SD card and the phone detected automatically.
This is not the case however with my version of froyo. I put the media folder on the SD card with all the audio and the phone isn't detecting the additional ringtones. Is there anything else I need to do?

Download 7zip (google it) and you can open .tar/.tgz files with it.
Download the build you'd like to use and open with 7zip.
Replace the media folder with the new one.
Flash the new androidinstall.
Or here's an androidupdate with the new media. (Haven't tested though)

[Q] How to import a key to registry when WM does not start?

Is there a way to import *.reg file to the registry when WM does not start?
The problem is I have changed a key HKCU\ControlPanel\Sip\DefaultIm to change default keyboard and now WM doesn't load. It stucks before the green screen after initial Xperia animations. I guess either I've entered a bad CLSID or it tires to load keyboard before it mounts SD card.
Anyhow I have access to SD card contents only (via SDcard reader) and I would like to change the mentioned registry key contents. How to achieve this goal?
Thanks in advance.
Hm generally I'd like to mention: Don't install anything that autostarts on your storage card. To solve your problem: What about the active synch connection to your pc? Does it work? You could access your phones registry by using your pc.
ActiveSync of course do not work.
then hard reset phone .... or flash a new rom
Yep, I think this is the only solution for your problem.
guess it locks too early to do anything. with activesync would've been easier.
but you can try auto-install from sd-card:
- make a cab with your reg-settings
- make a dir called 2577 on your sd-card & put the cab in
- boot and see...
but i really think that directory is read at a later stage of boot-process.
so a hardreset should be your only option.
Hardreset to go to the original state of the last ROM flash, also of registry
