I have a couple of issues which need your helping hands.
1, Do you know where can I get the GPS turn by turn guidance maps for Persian Gulf Countries e.g Qatar, Bahrain, U.A.E? Rightnow, the only source I found is CleverMaps. However, they charge the hefty price ($179 for 30MB of maps!) not included the price of OCN5. Furthermore, there is no Kaiser in their compatible devices list, either!
Too bad is tomtom doesn't have these kinda maps.
2, What are the fonts and keyboard applications should I install to the Kaiser in order to make it displays and inputs Arabic characters correctly?

I live in Abu Dhabi and use Garmin XT. You can buy this now on an SD card thats perfect for the 'Kaiser'
Also, Destinator do a PDA map program for the Mid East but it is not as good at recognising your location when off-road.
The Garmin XT SD card is available from most big electronics stores in the ME for about USD99.
They are both Enlish text but I think the new ME Garmin may have Arabic language files also.
Check out the www.persianforum.net forum, some guys on there may be able to help you.

1. Are you running City Navigator Middel east v3 and Garmin XT ver. 4.10.40w? Where can I find Garmin XT in Qatar or I have to purchase it in USA?
2. Do you recommend any keyboard application for Arabic input?

Nav software for ME
TomTom none
Route66 but ME maps maybe 2006
Navigon Version 6 has ME maps and may be 2007, my choice BTW
Destinator 7 has ME maps 2006/2Q
Myeasynav works on WM5 with 2005 maps but not hopeful for WM6
Garmin products suppose to have up to date maps of ME guess late 2006,
IGO also have ME support not sure of date of maps but at least 2006
Note most companies don't seem to list ME maps on thier sites but they are available

No Arabizer exists for the Kaiser yet. There is one from imaginet but it messes up ur fonts and slows down ur phone.
Have installed imaginet 2.0, works fine on my kaiser...

I have been searching high and low on where to get a working GPS software for the Philippines, particularly the NCR, Region 2 and Region 8. Can anyone help me out?
mapking for maps of manila, there's no maps available yet for other parts of the philippines. you can try gps tuner, it can also download google maps and you can create maps using their map tool on pc, so you can scan and calibrate your own maps
try vito navigator 2..i am sure they have maps of philippines but they are not the best looking maps out there

i dunno if ncr, region 2 and 8 are included in cities..
Every time I try and load the map(2007.xx) and try and open Igo it says that my map is out of date. I tried searching for 2008 USA maps with no luck. Anyone in the US running into this problem as well?

Suggest moving this to Kaiser Software. It's not ROM related.

There are beta maps for each state, and you need maps that start w/ verion 7.10.10 I believe. Your maps are probably a slightly older version.
And before soneone yells, please don't ask for or discuss sharing them since that's a warez discusion. Thi version of the maps will work though. I had the same error with maps that were version 7.10.8... or something like that.

No, not exactly. Navigon only works for like 4 countries and if you look through this forum i think there are a few navigation apps out there.
Navigon works with every european country as long as you have the corresponding iPhone Navigon maps and with the rest of the world if you bother to read a bit and change a few settings manually

Thats true I am using it myself and you can get almost any country, however it is a free t-mobile app and it is limited to a basic format but its is functional and works well.

I saw the map of Poland at Navigon and they are miserable and are not valid for several years

i have a Navigon select now and applied some maps from iphone (originally only four country available).
so i got all EUROPE where uk, france, belgium, netherland,germany and POLAND!!!
i tested myself and i'm glad to say that that all is up to date. sometimes better than tomtom maps in poland.
navi software is way whorse than tomtom but maps are great.

You know, I prefer to measure with better than average.
tom tom is a mistake, still on Polish maps dont have some streets in Warsaw.
I'm also tested the Navigon and current maps of WP7 (iphone) are outdated.
if anyone can find an idea how to insert a map from version 6.5 or 7.4 that would be super.

Navigon will work on WP7, if you have the navigon maps of Iphone.
Ok so just to get it straight, if I want to use Navigon on my windows phone
I need to download the I Phone maps
(which aren't the same as the Android Navigon maps, currently Q4 2010 ? ).
Then I need to install the T-Mobile (light) Navigon Software i.e. without street-view and stuff (--> Were do I get this app, googled but couldn't find it)

There is a way although it requires more work. Just read the corresponding topic in the Windows Phone 7 general section of the site.

When I installed a patched version, it immediately downloaded German, Austrian, Lichtenstein and Swiss maps. Fine by me. I added Luxemburg, the Netherlands, the UK and Belgium for now.

Actually, Navigon / iPhone maps have better coverage than Polish famous Automapa. The number of POIs is also reasonable.

There is a new app in marketplace Ato B maps. I hope that has the turn by turn voice navigation feature. I'll try it while I go home and update you guys
