Why No Flash for LG Optimus M ??? - LG Optimus 2x

Metro PCS has seen fit in their infinite wisdom to block the Adobe Flash app from their market. Why sell a phone with 2.2 and block the app that enables flash??? It's the reason the phone was bought in the first place!!!

I am not sure, but Flash is for phones with processors arm v7 and higher, but I suppose LG Optimus M has a lower CPU

Thanks that sheads a little light.

[Q] Is the Optimus 2X laggy?

Hello,
I want to ask optimus 2X owners something,
I read a review on engadget
And they say that the optimus 2X's software is laggy and that the memory is not enough
Is that true? or can I buy my optimus 2X without any doubt?
Thank you

No lag here lol lightning fast..

lag?
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA Premium App
Mine is rooted, some applications frozen - I have noticed nothing i would call lag.
Well, I disagree with recent sentiment in this thread.
It does lag.
No terribly so but it's patently obvious that some processes don't use SMP and as a result lag is evident.
Whenever the package manager is accessed or a notification comes in the phone seems to go into serial processing mode and effectively hands processor priority to the system app.
In my opinion this is software related and is fixed in Honeycomb - these lags are not apparent on a Moto Xoom (2.3) but they are apparent on a Moto Atrix (2.2).
Examples:
Play a CPU intensive game and force a notification, watch it momentarily stall.
Queue a lot of Market downloads and wait till they start "installing" - try using your phone.

My homescreen is almost always laggy.
Weather animation lags to.
The phonecall quality is also bad.
Its not what i've expected from a dual core phone and
Im not 100% happy with this gadget.
laggy? I would say it got some certain hangtimes on occasions...
at 1st, there was no lags, now I had it for about 14 days, and its filled up with a lot off apps. I get hangtimes when installing a new app. That was not the situation in the beginnning. Also got some hangtimes when exiting some apps on occasion.
I found a workaround though.
I rooted, installed autokiller (not a usual task killer as you might think of) and Cache Cleaner NG.
Also, I installed Titanium backup, and "froze" or uninstalled unnessecary apps, stock apps etc. Now I got a lot more free ram, and a quicker ROM.
I use Zeam Launcher and I have frozen LG launcher.
But don't get to worried. When android 2.3 comes around, it will be much faster, as 2.2 doesn't support dual core + 2.3 is much more optimized.
Battery life + user experince will increase tenfold or more
The best phone till date in my oppinion.
looking forward to HTC Pyramid though, which I dont expect to be around the next 6 months, and by then, I'm able to get a new phone
The LG Launcher is not really that good, not laggy but not super responsive either. I user LauncherPro and haven't experienced any lag at all. I'm amazed at this phones speed.

[Q] LG Optimus 2X a safe choice ?

Hello Everybody
I got an offer for LG Optimus in ebay for a good price.
The offer was well worth when comparing to it's specification.
But, i was searching about the mobile phone in internet to find out any major problems.
And i came across following issues.
Would lose network connectivity frequently for no apparent reasons
constant "Force Closure" messages.
Unstable Gingerbread update process.
On-screen keyboard frozen up occasionally
I heard that if we use LG Updater software, then there is no issues in upgrading to Gingerbread.
And i heard that Gingerbread update completely fixes the phone lockup and reboot problems, is it true ?
There is no GB update out yet....
Most of problems on this device are baseband related, and after 3 baseband update, its still not that good...
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
It's safe if you're willing to mould it into what you want.
If you want to use it as LG provide it, it's not so good.
Root. And flash a stable rom. Then its verry safe.
The downside is that when u drop it, the screen cracks really fast. The + side is that it is not that difficult to replace the gorilla glass by yourself. There is a nice vid of it on youtube.

Android Gingerbread update has been released for T-Mobile G2X http://www.phonearena.com/news/Gingerbread-update-for-the-T-Mobile-G2x-goes-live_id20543
Isn't T-Mobile G2X and LG Optimus 2X same ?
They're the same in North America, but not the rest of the world.
So, if i buy LG P999, Then is that T-Mobile version?
If so, if i install Gingerbread firmware in T-Mobile version of LG Optimus 2X, then would the major problems be rectified?
P999 is the T-Mobile G2X or the Wind Optimus 2X, the update should indeed help with some things, check out the G2X forum for info.
Had the Optimus 2x by one month and i tell you that i am very satisfied of him. I have a stock room with all the latest updates and i don't have problems of reset or keyboard. IF you don't use it much you can get more then 2 days of battery.
In Europe the T-mobile G2x is not the same with the lg optimus 2x. You probably broke your phone if you update it with the firmware of G2x

im now running FR19 fearkill edition 12.4 with the neoblaze OC kernel.. (smooth as butter)
the DJ droid seems to be a stable rom aswell
(the good thing about this phone is that there are plenty of roms to choose from,
i recommend the fearkill roms. eventually i always got back to them. (never hade anny trouble with them)
Does these Roms preserve LG customizations?
fearkill deleted a couple of them but u can add them. there is a link in his topic where u can download all the lg software and add them to the rom
Golden question - did GB on the G2X fix most issues?
Sent from my Optimus 2X using Tapatalk
Go ask in the G2X forum?
I think its a good choice, even on stock rom i had no problems butnon CM and Miui i did abit of baseband swapping to find the bestbin for them and everything is fine upgrading basebands has given me better signal..ect

For me O2x is a lol choice.

Baseband issues :
- calls quality are really bad (for me)
- lags appears when you install apps : the device becomes totally unusable (im wondering if there is a rom that fix this issue)
- wifi error durring connection establisment/ hspa drops connectivity with NO reason.
- Audio playback may lag quite randomly (probably due to stock rom)
Sent from my LG-P990 using XDA App
The app install lag is gone in CM, and possibly MoDaCo ROMs.

IS the 2x any good?

Just got a new 2x off ebay and gets delivered soon but from reading on here it seems it riddled with issues. Does anyone actually like their phone?
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
Its a good phone considering its value. You just need to use custom roms to make it better.
The original shipping ROM was horriffic, which is why the phone is so cheap now. The official GB update is much better, as are custom ROMs.
its just a honest phone somewhat cheap for its functions. but has it cronical problems. if you are familiar with android modding the phone shows up as a awesome option!
Mod the phone and you will be 10x happier.
Currently I'm using Galnet MIUI with swiftextreme 1.5GHz kernel running at 1.2GHz for the most part and I couldn't be happier. Also I'm using the Suave HD theme

Optimus 2x is awesome hardware wise for its price..The stock software sucks a bit but if you willing to play a bit and follow some guides in this site you can be really happy!

Is this phone good?

Hi guys I currently own an xperia play but a friend told me to exhange our phones do you think its worth it?
What is lacking on your PLAY that you would like a new phone?

Do not by a LG phone!!

I got stuckon gingerbread, no way to install custom roms and lack of internal memory and ram makes me nuts
Don't buy LG. If you want custom roms and always fresh OS - choose nexus.
My only options are this and the Xperia Play, of course I would love a nexus but I have no money

barely??? xperia play has a 1 ghz single core against a 1 ghz dual core, not to mention camera, screen size and quality, gpu... xperia play isnt even enough to be p990s buttler... lol
i AGREE 200%
Still that lg badge kills it

Whats te screen size of the 2x? Xperia play has a 4 inch one
My advice is to wait for stock ics on 2x, then if the rom from lg is "usable" like the last gingerbread roms (still not perfect but seems more usable) the x2 become the best choice, otherwise I would say to not buy none of them
The screen size on the O2X is 4 inches, same as your play. But what's your budget?

What is the meaning of "online core" ?

I searched the web and i see this : " Optimus 4x has one online core so it lags at every HD game."
I couldn't understand the meaning of " online core" ? I see 4 cores at tech. specs.
And I have one more question. Is it related with lag in the game?
online means only one of 4 cores are active. So it laggs, because the phone/kernel/rom only use one core. One Core is not enough for HD Games .Flash a Good Custom Rom.or.Kernel and they will make that more cores.are online.or you can set it.manually

i think it should relate to the problem when playing the stock kernel sometimes only uses one core. But i think this problem isn't present at costum kernels.
