Updated (Metamorph) Monster Energy Theme V1.8 (02/10/2011) - Droid Eris Themes and Apps

First off, just wanted to say this is originally based off of jonathanphx1's DarkHorse theme. He has done a awesome job with it and i'm taking it all and evolving the Monster Theme around it.
This is my first metamorph theme, so its not all perfect yet. Still need help with one main thing. Thats figuring out how to compile 9image files to fit the widgets properly. But anyways heres my first version of what i've gotten so far. Just make sure to nandroid up before applying just as you would anything else. This replaces the pretty much everything in the framework-res area. I've gotten a few apps done. Still tinkering and tweaking a few things to get things perfect. But of course wont ever be perfect lol. But for now this is what i've came up with.
This is my first version 1.1

Version 1.5
Changes made:
New lockscreen icons
New status bar icons (3g, signal bars, car mode, usb, debugging, phone, vibrate)
New look to the overall icons in settings, menus, and apps
New apps themed, (phone, Mms,) credit to the icons in Mms to developer of Watermark'd. I did the mms and sms notification icons myself. took rest of the menu icons and such that are in the app and redid the looks of them.
*Facebook widget isnt quite perfect like it should look. I'm having difficulty getting the .9.png files right. there a pain lol. But it is still functional. Same thing goes for the settings toggle widget, the background isnt working or looking like it should and still working on it. Its still functional. Probably look better if you leave background off in settings lol.
Version 1.6
Changes made:
Added new app
*DeskClock.apk
Fixed the power toggle icons to match the status bar icon toggles, plus changed few icons (reapply the settings sub theme)
Changed the Mms icon (reapply the Mms sub theme)
Changed the color of the divider lines in menus (reapply the framework-res sub theme)
*Still looking for a fix with the facebook background widget files.
Version 1.7
Changes made:
Added couple apps, nothing big
*AccountsAndSyncSettings.apk
*Bluetooth.apk
*XDA.apk (make sure to rename the app in /data/app to XDA.apk and move it from there to /system/app and reboot, then apply the theme)
Updated some apps
*Browser.apk
*Calculator.apk
*Calendar.apk
*Camera
*Contacts
*DeskClock.apk (fixed a file that was messed up)
*Gallery3D.apk
*framework-res (couple files i redone, nothing major)
Latest Version 1.8
Changes made:
Added couple more apps
*Music.apk
*LauncherPro.apk (it is the updated version of 0.8.3, make sure to rename as you see here and move to /system/apps, reboot, and apply theme, reboot)
*Updated Facebook.apk (still not perfect like it should, but better than before thanks to scott2hot97 for the tip)
*Updated Contacts.apk (changed looks for the quick popup)
*Updated the framework-res for a few files and to finally get the notification menu to match lol
Added themed keyboard thanks to gimpsta's keyboard generator
*You can either install the .apk or upgrade it. (its just a themed over version of HTC IME Mod)
This is the bootanimation...
* I changed the version file names so it wouldnt be confusing as to which version is which to download. There is nothing different, but the filenames there self.
I added the bootanimation.zip along with the .xml theme notification colors (Monster_Energy_CMTheme.zip), dock, and the word text on the launcher pro icons (which came from someone on a droid forum i found, but changed the colors to my own as seen in the pix)
Future updates will hopefully have the fixes for the facebook, settings toggle widgets. As soon as i figure out or hopefully get some help with the bg files. May probably have new icons for some things. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

took this post and added it to main top post

great work on the theme love it so far but as always there is something that dont work right like the clock will not change as well as the dock( ie. dock in ur pictures is not showing up) and facebook app but other than that all is good

the clock is actually wp clock live wallpaper. and here is the dock. The Facebook.apk works with this download apk file. Put the app in /system/apps and make sure its named Facebook.apk and reboot and apply the theme. Just make sure to uninstall the old facebook first.

thx ill give that try

ok everthing worked now still confused what is wp live wallpaper and where can i find it

Were you talking bout the clock on the screen or n the status bar next to battery icon?

yes the clock beside the battery icon

for the clock and other notification colors, the attached zip needs to be extracted and the .xml will go into the cmTheme folder. In the cm settings, apply the monster energy theme and reboot.

Just wondering r u themeing other apps on this theme and my clock still does not have that font as above pics the color is right

The font isn't in the theme you gotta download and install it seperatly

yes i'm in the process of doing few other apps. the font wont change cuz thats part of something different when applying fonts. Get typefresh from the market and the font i use which changes everything you see on your phone is called nightmare from dafont.com. apply that to the droidsanbold and that will change 98% of the text you see on your phone to that font, including the clock.

yes thats correct. if i knew of a way of including that in the theme i would. But i probably wouldnt want to just in case people wouldnt be able to read the font or see it clearly. Cuz when changing the fonts, it changes bout 98% of everything text you see on your phone.

is this theme compatible with froshedyo vanilla where did u get the clock in the v1.5

Idk say its compatible with it, I'm using kaosfroyo v39. And the clock is from beautiful Widgets. But the one I have, I took the version of the clock from someone else that uploaded that n I customized it a lil. The one you see isn't available.

ok cuz i really like that clock is kaos froyo a good rom i havent tried it yet ive been stuck on tazzs roms

Yah its pretty good. Its the only froyo rom I've had, after installing it, just flash the GPS fix n the newest gapps update n your set.

Love the new theme and it keeps getting better plus I installed the boot animation which works flawless

You will need to go into your MM settings, and move the delay slider all the way to the right (longest time available).
This should work for most builds. If you dont see your ROM build in the flashes then this is what you will want to try! If your current ROM does not have 1-100% battery then use "No Batt" version!! Remember make sure USB debug is on, and for Froyo if you get a FC or a crash then soft reset. When phone is back up continue on to the next part of the theme! Have not tested on Eclair but it should work.

Transparent Carbon Fiber Pull-Down Background, to match the battery cover of course.
Gradient Black bar from Minimalistic Mod
Lots of parts thanks to Jonnybueno and his GlossyBlack theme.

Taskbar Icons from the HiResHTC Mod (more stock AOSP looking)

Looking good....will morph and report back.

You can either to it the hard way, here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=812541
Or, what I would personally recommend.
Take my Metamorph file and using winrar or 7zip double click the file to open it.
Take the file you want to use and rename it "status_bar_background.9.png".
Replace the old file inside of MMDarkness/twframework-res/res/drawable-hdpi with the new one you just renamed, close the file, and place it on your phone.
Using Metamorph find the new theme, If there was an old Darkness theme then "Replace" not update, and then theme the twframework-res theme.
You are done, soft reset to see changes!
Do you have to change the size of the graphic before injecting it into framework.apk?

I love this theme, but I have one suggestion. The checkmarks in settings are hard to see. I'd like to see them in green.
Very cool Reefer....glad to see some new morphs coming.
Well that got borked. I followed the steps in the post you pointed me to and it black screened on me. I fortunately had nixxed's update.zip on my sd card and was able to get back to a working phone. Guess I will save that for a later date

Was I only supposed to put it in one framework? I put it in twframework-res.apk and also framework-res.apk
I didn't try it your way as I didn't put your theme back on after my earlier restore. I had done something and my nandroid was of b6 which had your theme on it but didn't realize it was b6 so I restored then updated to b7 and didn't put your theme back on. To make a long winded explination
I have applied the morph (great work by the way, made my first one today lol) but the top buttons above the dialer didnt change. I still have the default blue. Do you know what the png is called for that one? Also on the lock screen once you slide it over to unlock it the back half turns back to green green?

[THEME][UPDATED 02/14/2011] Minimal Green and Minimal Blue. NEW-Winter Mix

This is a Metamorph and Flashable Zip Theme for the HTC Eris.
[Change log in second post]
I am not a fan of gloss and started looking for a matte theme. I found Dark Elegance and installed that. Then I started learning MM and started changing out some of the images. Then I got carried away and changed the whole thing. Even learned 9 patch along the way. Ughh.

Flashing the Update zips.
I used Zip themer to create the zips. So please do a NAND before trying this method. I can not guarantee it will work. Just reboot into recovery and flash the zip file.
MM the theme
Place the Minimal_Green.zip or Minimal_Blue.zip in AndroidThemes and extract using MM. Then do the normal business.
MM can be buggy. So apply one at a time and do the framework last. If MM gives you an error after extracting the zip saying that the theme is not valid, just restart MM and your theme will be there. If MM hangs (the spinner stops spinning) give it a bit and it should re-boot by itself. It has done this to me multiple times. But the theme always sticks.
When applying MM and a sub theme doesn't stick, the main reason for this is that you have a duplicate apk in data/app. Delete the one in system/app and move the new one over from data/app to system/app. Then reboot. See THIS thread for further details.
Installing the fonts.
Place the font zip in the root of your SDCard and flash that from recovery. I've included the font I am using and the stock font in case you want to go back.
I have tested this on KaosFroyo v37 though v39. Nothing else. So do a NAND if you are going to try it on another ROM or phone.
For people asking about how to re-size and overlap widgets, go HERE.
As usual, I am not responsible if you brick your phone. And do a NAND first!

Oh, as for the fonts, the one I am using is Ubuntu. There is a thread on xda that has a ton of flashable fonts. I can't find it right now but when I get back to work tomorrow, I'll see if I can find it.
For changing the deskclock font, you have to place what ever font you want to use in the assets/fonts folder. But it has to be named Clockopia.ttf. Then just apply the MM.

Gorgeous. I have been rocking Gingerbread and love the green style but this has a certain tone that I like better.

The file you want to modify is status_bar_item_background_normal.png in framework res. I just put a single green line at the bottom.

This is a Metamorph Theme for the HTC Eris.
(I posted this also in the Eris forum. But thought more people would view it here. If that is not ok, Mods, you can delete this thread.)
I am not a fan of gloss and started looking for a matte theme. I found Dark Elegance and installed that. Then I started learning MM and started changing out some of the images. Then I got carried away and changed the whole thing. Even learned 9 patch along the way. Uggh.
Some of the original files from the Dark Elegance theme are still in my Minimal Green zip. But very few. I have tried contacting sunder74 but have not gotten a response. If you see this sunder74 and want me to change out your images, let me know!

You don't happen to have a PSD file for the dock icons so we can make other icons do you?

Would it be possible to use this theme on a donut ROM for the myTouch 3G/G1 (SuperD 1.11)?
It's a MDPI phone, so it should work, right?

The Eris is MDPI. So the resolution will be correct. But I have no idea about the structure of the myTouch. You can try. But do a NAND first just in case
In the fifth picture, there is a date shown on the right of the analog clock, is it included in your theme?

[UPDATE!] [CWM] colored statusbars for mdj gingerbread 2.6

STATUSBAR IN 6 COLORS WITH 1% CIRCLEMOD BATTERY FOR MDJ 2.6
NOW WITH FLASHABLE ZIPS FOR CWM!
UPDATE:
gingerCOLORED added (king size icons)
flashable zips for cwm are now included! accounts and background image will be untouched now after cwm flash
gingerGREEN_CLEAN battery without glow added! i extracted the icons from UOT kitchen, resized and colored them to match gingerbread
included systemui.apk to gingerGREEN - it is now a fully replacement for statusbar, so you can flash it over another mod from me to get stock green color including circle mod!
IMPORTANT:
if your circle battery has a white icon instead of your desired color, you have to charge the phone over 64%. below that, the color stays white until it reachs low level and gets read then.
colors of pictures don't match 100% with the result on phone - there they are much more brilliant
the mod MAY work with other roms than mdj gingerbread (android 2.3.2)
INSTALLATION:
just copy the zip file without decompressing to your sd-card and flash it with clockwork recovery mod .
COLORS:
gingerbread statusbar in 6 colors with circlemod (glow):

I try the update.bat and all I get is a device not found error.
Is there something I need to do on the phone first to get these files to install onto it?
Hey Fruit Fly, it worked on MDJ's new one. Good job my friend. I guess i can finally say that the other build i was using was incompatible, because i even tryed it on that one. Finally gave up on that build, until the final release comes out. Ohh by the way it was the blue one i tried.
i tried green and blue it on my HTC HD2 with MDJ 2.6 NAND.. it works fine but they are white.. no colors.. i don't know why... in CyanogenMod menu' there aren't control for color like old CM6..
Hey, nice little mod.
It installed fine on my HTC HD2 TMOUS running CyanogenMod 2.6 (Android 2.3.2). Was the bat file supposed to reboot my phone? I had to manually reboot to see the new icons.
I may even make some of my own icons to try out. I just ditched my Palm Pre and was pretty active in the webOS homebrew community. The top bar is my favorite thing to play around with.

My wifi and rssi icons were white at first too after installing this mod. They didn't turn blue until I downloaded something from the market (If it matters, I downloaded and installed Launcher Pro). Try downloading something and see if the icons change to the correct color.
(Since I'm new here, I need to wait 5 minutes between posts... lol )
OK i don't know why but just opened the market icons turned to blue.. but all Sync account like Google, Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp are vanished... i had to add all account...

Sorry I forgot to mention with the account wipe. Have wrote it in my other battery thread! The icons get colored when you (re)add your google account. But that's also without mod. I'm glad that it works. Will upload other colors this evening!

Got a question. After installing the aqua icons, I decided to try out the green ones. Now I have blue icons with the green battery indicator. I can't seem to get the green set fully installed.
Suggestions?
I noticed in the green set the systemUI.apk wasnt in there. Maybe thats why?

Just checked the folder and yep, you're right. Guess I should have checked that first. Now to go search for some green icons to match my new battery indicator.
Yes, systemui.apk is not included, since everything except the battery is green at stock. I can compile a complete green theme if desired. Simple and fastest way for you is to restore to your (hopefully made) backup and flash again the green battery mod

Seems like its a hit and miss. My battery stayed white, but the signal strength, and arrows turned blue. Already downloaded from the market and that didnt trigger it.
Edit: everything turned blue after was left to charge overnight.

Hello,
Thanks it's great tweak
How can i do to add date et week number near clock in status bar ?
Theres more apk for statusbar to use with this bat ?
Thanks
Doesn't show on Cyanogen mod7 build #8 with HTC Desire.
Battery icon stays with the default appearance.

after the Reboot ?
Tried re/adding the google account - Got a message its not possible without Factory Reset.
Thanks

Ice9 and GingerIce9 are now HDPI and MDPI compatible.
CM9
What is this:
Both themes are based around Android 4.0. Therefore they are not a direct port...I have added a ton of custom work into these
Who is this for:
Anyone who uses a ROM that supports T-mobile's theme chooser.
What is themed:
Framework
Browser
SystemUI
Contacts
Phone
SMS
Settings/Power Control Widget
Search
Music

News and Weather
Deskclock
Calculator
Latin IME Keyboard
ADW
ADW Ex
Launcher Pro
*Both themes supports upward spirals wallpaper app*
Instructions:
1. Download apk (either Ice9_mdpi.apk/Ice9_hdpi.apk or GingerIce9.apk)
2. Place on the root of your sd card
3. Using a file explorer, install "Ice9_mdpi.apk/Ice9_hdpi.apk" or "GingerIce9.apk"
4. Open theme chooser
5. Select ice9 or GingerIce9
6. You will get this error: "Sorry, this theme is missing assets for your device's screen size." Hit apply anyway
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy!

Thanks. Looks good. Found few issues.
1. No "on vibrate" icon in statusbar. Shows silent icon instead.
2. Font in notification looks big. Can it be smaller?
3. The text color in dial screen turns black when focused. Not visible at all.
4. The data icons get blurry after some time. "3G" icon especially.
hey man nice theme finally a mdpi version!!!

issues:

battery in status bar, two blue colors
