[Q] 3G to 2G or EDGE toggle - Quick Settings - Captivate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Widget for turning off 3G and limiting to 2G or EDGE in AT&T
Loaded "Quick Settings" from the Market. Fixed one of my problems with the notification ringer volume setting itself down. Like the app and interface.
BUTTTTTT on the turning off 3G it does not work... sent the following email to the Quick Settings bunch... it bounced back... anyone know how to get hold of them???? following is the email and description of the problems. Anyone else know an answer for a Galaxy S phone... particularly a Captivate?

No data signal

i recently updated to the 2.26 rom and i didnt have any problems till last nite.
I have full signal but No Data connection at all, just the arrows with the x, the settings are fine also anyone have a clue? also im in the NYC area
I have the SAME PROBLEM! IN southern california
i am in nyc also (park slope, brooklyn, to be exact) and i have had many situations where i was somehow "bumped off" the data connection. i notice that now i have either a "G" or an "E" in the data area (which is, I guess, for GRPS or EDGE). There are 2 access point names.
wap.voicestream.com
wap.internet2.com
might need to reset them. here's how:
Start > Settings > connections (tab) > connections (tap icon) > tap "manage existing connections" or if unavailable, "add a new modem connection" > select "t-mobile data" > enter name for connection (doesn't matter what) > select a modem: Cellular line (GRPS) > enter access point name (either of the 2 mentioned above) > Finish (leave next page blank).
hope this helps.

[Q] Prevent wifi from sleeping

How to prevent wifi from sleeping?
I have a few apps that have the permission of "prevent phone from sleeping" but seems the phone will still switch off the wifi soon after the screen timed out. Is it supposed to work like this, or is there some settings for this?
one of the apps i tried is "wireless file transfer lite", which by the way, is a very light wifi transfer tool between phone and pc
Wifi settings > menu button, advanced > Wifi sleep policy.
ha! didn't know there is advanced setting.
many thanks!

Radio Wireless Bionic

I have noticed on the Bionic (HTC Tbolt) does not do this...
When you have in in airplane mode and using wireless only it will connect fine and run with no problem, but if you let it goto standby and the screen goes off it drops the wireless connection. This may be the same issue people have with a 3G or 4G network.
I do have the battery saver all off and I have it ti have data always on.
What gives?
If you are wireless being wifi there is a setting in wireless networks allows you to turn that setting off where it won't go into standby when screen goes off
Sent from my DROID BIONIC using XDA App
Yes, but the setting you're looking for is buried behind the menu key and not easy to find. From the Home screen press:
Menu -> Settings -> Wireless & networks -> Wi-Fi settings -> Menu -> Advanced -> Wi-Fi sleep policy -> Never
