what you think?

Well they've a 3500 for evo so I'll wait

That's not a huge difference and 50 dollars is a bit steep for me.

$50 for aprox 30min to 1 extra hour of battery life.... it's a bit hard to swallow indeed.
but it's worth it if you do really need that extra time
personally i carry 2 extra battery packs with me, so ... extra mAh is not that big of a concern

IMO, the 3000+ mAh batteries are hideous with their custom battery covers. I'd rather go the 2 battery route lol

This is only marginally on-topic, but it's been on my mind. Phones are so slim now, why not just make batteries that have the same height and width of the body of the phone? Sure it'll make the phone some fraction of a centimeter thicker and a couple ounces heavier, but you could use the thing screen on all day if you wanted to, and with moderate use it'd easily go three or four. It would take longer to charge, of course, but it'd probably still easily go from 0-100% overnight, not that you'd normally need it to.

Where did you get the extra batteries from?

because batteries don't work like that, from what you're saying, I'm assuming you want a thin but wide battery that spans the entire phone surface area, the thing is... batteries work on stored capacitance and the physics of it doesn't allow a battery to store charge if you design it in the way you mentioned. sorry that would be nice though!

Dude wtf, spewing some trash talk there.
You can design a battry in any shape aslong as its not tubular.
the cells should be of same sizes and capcatance, you colud make a thin battery 90% of the internal surface area of any device aslong as the device is desinged for it.
Hell have you seen button batterys / model aircraft nicads e.c.t they come in all kinds of sizes.
tbh the phone company's just skimp on batterys you could makr a phone with a 3000mha batt as standard if they gave more room to batts, if you strip down many phones you could trim the fat and easly get another 500mha out...

its not the shape of the battery that matters its the volume of the chemicals inside, it could be flat and wide and have the same capacity as a thick but smaller battery. chemistry man, chemistry.

So has anyone actually used this?

IMO most battery useage claims are very hard to prove. People can claim they got an hour or two more of useage, but no two days of use are going to be identical. The screen wont be powered on the exact same amount. You wont receive / send the same amount of messages , you wont check your tweets the same amount, you wont start the day with the same exact charge, etc. Its very hard for the average user to set up an objective test for this sort of thing. Individual batteries, including stock, will also vary depending on condition. The numbers are there, but like all things - your mileage may vary. With that being said Seido is a very reputable company, and I'd trust their product over some eBay brand (reference another thread).

Best thing to do probably is:
1. Fully charge
2. Go into airplane mode
3. Set up looping video at full brightness
4. Unplug
5. record battery life on reboot after it dies
6. Repeat with next battery
can't get much more consistent than that.

Battery Power, and Extender

I want a new battery with more power to my phone, i am also not apposed to getting a Extended Battery.. Any suggestions, or info i should no about?
Check out the Hero CDMA sub forum, there are several options for batteries there.
You can pick up two extra batteries and an external charger for about $12 on Ebay. I went this route and don't regret it. I keep a fully charged battery in my glove box and another in my back pocket.
I never worry about killing my phone during the day from overuse. That said, since I've been using Zen's newest MT3G slide ROM, I haven't been able to completely drain a battery while at work.
Check out my sig (the TP2 batteries) for ideas on batteries...
in a nutshell unless you want s really big battery. The best choice is to get a 1500mAh OEM battery or the cheap 1500mAh no-name ones (which are pretty much as good) Don't fall for the mugen and Seidio ripoffs

The new OEM TP2 2100 batteries...Are you considering them the best for the Hero..? If so where's the best place to get them ?
Mac
for what it's worth, i was hesitant to spend the money on the 3500 mostly due to everyone saying that back cover looked like poo. after getting it though, i can honestly say that it is of good quality. obviously, it's black, and that will bother some people. to me though, it's kind of cool when other Hero owners (there are a ton of them, too) comment on it. they can't believe how much better i tel them the batery life is since that seems to be most people's biggest complaint (for smart phones in general). The cover is rubberized and doesn't fall off like some people say.
As for battery life, i unplug and turn my phone on at 4:45am every morning and usually turn it off around 10pm and plug it in. in that time, my email is pushed every 30 minutes, my bluetooth stays on, i stream shoutcast or pandora for about 1.5 hours (to and from work), send and receive on average 15-20 text messages, talk maybe 45 minutes, and surf the web (gotta check engadget and xda, right?) for at least 30 minutes. the gps stays on the whole time and i only use my task killer once about 15 minutes after my morning startup when all the crap is running in the background. when i turn the phone off at night, it has usually just dropped to the 50% mark. well worth the $53 if you ask me...
2000mah battery
If I'm not mistaken, isn't this the battery that fits the stock back. Previous posts lead to dead link or relisted after relisted, on and on? If this is it, it's back on ebay. I had read somewhere on this site that it was worth the long wait.

Bigger batteries.. is it really worth it?

I've really wanted to get a bigger battery, not necessarily a bigger phone. I was looking up videos on youtube, and I found a guy who actually bought one of those verizon silicon cases and used that instead of having a new backing for his phone because the battery was so much bigger. Do you guys really find not having to charge your phone for 20-30 hours worth the extra cover and stuff? I'm sure it's not an option for everyone, but why bother with that if you can just charge it sometime in between? Car chargers are cheap, and there should be some time of sleep between 20-30 hours of you using your phone (you know, where you could be charging it). Also, what is the biggest battery you can get without requiring an extra case?
The 2150 mah battery is perfect for me. The new back protects the camera lense and the leds. I have also noticed that I can hold the phone by the extended back and it feels more comfortable then before. It doesn't add that much weight and the phone is still pretty slim. Obviously I also get improved battery life as well.
I have been using the 1750 battery and it improved my battery life from 6-8 hours to 9-12ish, which is perfect for me. I just needed to make it through the work day and the regular size works for me.
I couldn't go to a bigger battery, since I have a case that works for me and I don't want to change.

My 2 cents... I have the 2150. I still go through it once or sometimes twice a day. I dont like the way it feels in my front pocket and the fact there isn't much at all if any accessories that will fit it. I just ordered (4) 1500mah batteries and 2 charges off of eBay for a whopping $20. shipped. I can use the 2150 when I am out and not near a charger or just sell it and carry extra 1500's if needed.

At that price, it sounds like you bought some off-brand garbage. While I hope that's not the case, could you please confirm/deny? What brand are these batteries?
I need the extra battery...was out today using the stock one and was dead after 5 hours (3 hours I was using My Tracks on my run). I don't care about accessories, I just need it to not run out of charge.
I find the extra ummph in the 2150 battery to be worth the lil bulge in the back....modded a silicon case with a cutout to let the excess...works pretty well and couldnt be happier...the only downfall i found so far is the charge time is nearly 4 hrs from a completely dead battery...never really timed it but it takes a while, but worth it.

I'm not sure which one he's using, but I'm using the Seido 1750. My battery life is...decent, I guess. If I bump charge. After reading so many threads on battery life for Android phones and, specifically, HTC Android phones, I'm left wondering a few things:
1. Since HTC seems to have issues charging batteries fully...if we're wiping Battery Stats appropriately (assuming you are rooted), does the phone actually "register" that it's got such a large battery to charge? Or is the phone so stupid that it stops charging it at a 1500's capacity?
2. When apps sync their data, is Android OS smart enough to have them sync at the same time? Or, does my 30 minute Facebook sync occur 10 minutes after my 30 minute Twitter sync, etc.?
New to the forums guys, it was a round-about way I got my Incredible, extended battery, and seidio battery but here is my opinion on this. If you're not gonna use it heavily throughout the day then you can get away with the 1500/1750 batteries. But if you think you're gonna get some solid use out of the phone for a day, you don't want to have to charge it throughout the day, or you don't want to have to rush home and charge it before you go out then you should get an extended battery. Using both over the past week to see which one I want to stick with, the extended is just more convienient since I don't have to think about how much battery i'm at and remember to put it on a charger.
There is a guy on here who modified his case to accommodate the 2150 battery and after seeing that I think that's what i'm gonna do. If you can get the extended cheap then definitely go for it, its just more freedom in my opinion.
Why do you want to go to an Incredible? I thought the X was a better device. Just too big? I have yet to see an Evo or X so I have know idea how big these things are.

did you get lost? your in the Incredible section of the forum, so there will bee a predominant amount of Dinc users here.
And I'd rather have an Incredible over that piece of Moto anyday
I recently bought a 2700mAh extended battery. I don't mind the extra thickness, it allows me to get a better grip on it. As for battery life its great. With the stock battery I could barely make it through 8hours at work. With the new battery I have made it 10hours and counting. I have had GPS, Sync, WiFi, and max screen brightness on all day and only at 73%. Made a few phone calls, and a few Twitter updates. Was worth it.

No I didn't get lost. I was just curious what he did not like about the X. I would rather have an X but HTC phones are much easier to hack. A Dinc hacked on to Sprint Sero is hard to say no too. I would have done an Evo but used prices on an EVO are still ridiculous and I'm waiting for HTC sort out it's display issues.
Back to the topic at hand. I'm liking my Seidio 1750. With some tweaks I'm getting better battery life then my 3GS got. I make it through a whole day of moderate usage (some web, some streaming and 5-10 calls) and still have 20% at bed time. So I'm quite happy. Someone did point out a thread on Android Central. I won't return the battery but it did dampen my spirits a little.
http://androidforums.com/accessories-incredible/119578-battery-testing-results.html
I have had the 3500, for a week. Lasts 2x the 1750 (have one) and the door design is more rugged and protects the lens well.
Worthy purchase.
I had the HTC 2150mah and returned it. I just couldn't live with the bulk.
I bought both 1750 and 2150 from HTC Pedia. They are both HTC BRAND batteries. They both work well and add work time to my INCREDIBLE. Don't buy anything but brand and you will be happy! I found HTC PEDIA to be the best place to buy accessories for my phone!

Extended Slim Battery...

So.... after being out for half a year... a extended SLIM battery has not been released yet?? I mean, I know i'm not the most "technical" person in the world.. but honestly?? how HARD can it possibly be??!! doesn't make one bit of sense.... and they still haven't made an OEM battery cover.. with a kick stand??!! ridiculous.. the person in charge of the accessories.. needs to be fired...
sorry just a little rant.. after seeing my friend buy a extended slim 1750mah battery for his EVO.... which is a HD2 replica..... the battery sizes are identical... and I'm not even asking for 1750... 1500mah is all i really need.. if i had an extra 2-3 hours of battery life.. then it would be PERFECT for a full days use
I posted similar thing awhile back with some moronic replies saying that there is not a market for that.
These people, rather, want you to believe that it's better to buy ebay/chinese fakes for $5-10 bucks that, ironically, labeled "1500" or "1600mah"! I dont understand why other phones, with similar form factor to the HD2, manage to get standard size extended battery with the added 200-300mah, but the HD2 only get +70mah (1300mah) from Mugen.

hear hear. The thing that annoys me the most is the battery life on the HD2, or rather, the pace on which it drains. The biggest improvement would be a battery with a bigger capacity.

Nope - biggest improvement would be a device that uses much less energy, so a battery with a capacity of 250mh would be enough for two days full of work.
the largest capacity for the stock battery size is so far mugen at 1300..
but its very very expensive.. and comes with only 70mAh more juice.. wth man..
I have designed a solution for the short battery life of the HD2, it solves a couple of problems ive seen complaints about and will increase the battery capacity beyond anything available currently, and its not and ugly lump im hoping to put it in production very soon, the only compromise is extra thickness of the phone...

My problem with this is that manufacturers start making power management decisions for me. They start reducing power output from wifi and bluetooth, they restrict standards on things like wifi (allowing 802.11g but not n), they limit screen brightness, etc. All in order to say that their unit last longer on a single battery charge.
I'm sure that the technology is there to have processors that run twice as fast as ours yet still fit in the HD2 device. They just can't make one that will last on such as small battery for more than 10 minutes. That's fine with me. Make it and let the user select how fast the processor runs.
They won't do that because they would still have to advertise that the battery lasted 10 minutes and there would be consumers out there saying, your device needs to use "much less energy, so a battery with a capacity of 250mh would be enough for two days full of work."

[Q]Extended Battery the size if OEM battery?

Like title says.. I've been trying to find a extended battery which has higher capacity yet the size of the original battery but no luck
Does anyone know if there is one and where to fine one
Thanks

are you sure that's even possible ? unless the battery was made of some other kind of materials, I have tyrouble seeing how you could store more power in the same battery size.
If you don't want a bigger phone, Your best bet would probably be to buy a second standard battery but it's a hassle to swap the battery when it's empty
If the battery is the same size it could in theory have more juice but it would be negligible. Seriously though, I picked up a charging cradle with battery charging slot and 2 spare batteries for $20. I also have a car charger and 3 chargers in my house. Unless you get a battery that is about double the size, you won't see a big difference and even then many batteries don't live up to their specs. Chargers and spare batteries are cheap. We're not dealing with smartphones of a decade ago where everything was proprietary and would cost at least $30 a pop.

I remember reading something about this... I think it might have even been on this forum but it was something along the lines of "Don't you think, if it were possible to fit more juice into the same size battery, that samsung wouldn't do that with their OEM batteries?"
Samsung, and I'm sure many other major device manufacturers don't just buy a battery off ebay and throw it in their phones. they spend time and money researching better battery technologies to get the best power/life they can.
It's my second day with an Andida 1850mAh battery, no big changes yet compared to my 8 month old 1500mAh OEM battery, i'll post back after a few complete drain and charge cycles.

How long have you had the battery? I'm looking for a new one as well but not if I am going to get scammed. Thanks!
Not Nexus related, but I have a vibrant that I got the Galaxy S 2 Epic 4G Touch battery for recently. Battery life went from about 6 hours to dead (month old 1500 mAh replacement battery bought at a phone hut) to 34 hours to dead (new samsung 1800mAh battery.) Nothing else changed.
My point is this:
1. If the above statements about samsung packing in as much as possible are true, why didn't the vibrant have a 1800mAh battery from the start? (hint, it is always about money.)
2. Take a crap 1500 mAh battery, slap a 1800 mAh sticker on it. People that buy these batteries will see an improvement because most generally they are replacing a worn out battery with a new one. Of course you will see an improvement, your worn out stock battery has only (arbitrary number) 600 mAh worth of usefulness left. The replacement is new and is not worn yet. (All arbitrary numbers follow) So, you will still see an improvement if you take a rated 1500mAh battery, that is labeled 1800mAh, but is in actuality only 1000mAh.
So asking if there is another, bigger, better battery for the Nexus made by Samsung, is a very valid question. So:

Because it is a device from 2 years ago (2010) and the S2 is from q3 2011. Maybe two years allowed them to cram more juice into the battery.
Maybe it wasn't viable then, to stick such a large battery, considering the power consumption of the vibrant compared to the S2. Maybe if they did the price would have gone up.
I highly doubt that Samsung would just stick different stickers on the same capacity batteries. maybe you had a defective or a non-original one. There are people that measure this kind of stuff. How much damage would Samsung's image suffer if someone found out that they sell a 1000 mAh battery with different labels and price tags?
I got a gold 2430 mah battery from ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2430MAH-HIG...093799?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2c5edcdce7
i don't know about it holding 2430mah, but it's far better than my 1 year old stock battery. i can post some battery usage stats later.

Yes, as you so eloquently rephrased, "it's always about money." I noticed you left that part out of your quote of me.

"Take a crap 1500 mAh battery" In this case "crap"="non oem"
I figured that would be obvious with my prior "phone hut" comment. I guess not.

I am a big fan of the OEM batteries. I have not tested a non-oem battery that will perform anywhere close to the stated specifications so far.
If you guys find some good battery reviews, tests, etc. please post up.
Keep in mind that comparing a brand new "Craptastic Brandâ„¢" battery to your old worn out OEM battery is kind of pointless for getting a feel of the comparative quality/capacity of a battery.

okey, does it work properly? Think I maybe buy one, it wasn't too expensive!

yes, it works properly. I had used my original battery for 12 months when I switched over to this one. The improvement was very noticeable.
I just charged my phone to 99%, I will report back in 24 hours with battery information and battery history since unplugged.
Sounds great!

extended life battery for n7000 - recommendations?

As per thread title, looking for an extended life battery - but dont want to end up with one that comes nowhere near what its rated for....like the 5400 mh battery I bought off ebay last year. Its so poor, it doesnt even last half the length of the standard oem battery!
Does anyone have an extended life battery for the n7000 that actually lives up to the declared spec??
Hm not that i know off.
You might want to turn your screen brightness down, ive found that matter quite a bit.
As for batteries with more capacity... Well youve said it, tho its a bit weird if the batteries capacity really measures 5000mah(?) It should ofcourse last.

I've tried that - but in certain circumstances, its simply not practical - if out and about somewhere that its sunny. I've gone back to setting it to automatic in this respect - so it adjusts to conditions.

I guess they should. However, around the time I bought that battery, there was discussion on here re. the expensive mugen batteries - and that they were not coming anywhere close to the rated capacity. There were mixed reports re. other chinese batteries - some good, some bad. I took a punt on that battery - it was cheap - but it turned out to be rubbish.
Perhaps the way to go is one of these portable power packs rather than a replacement battery? However, again I'd imagine that some are better than others. Is someone of you already using one of these? Anyone care to make a recommendation?
Would this be worthwhile?

Despite the big price tag, my N7000 has served me very well - its become an essential item. Although I have to carefully 'manage' it on a day to day basis (always having it charged to the max before I leave home - and having a back up battery with me), the greatest difficulty is when I leave home for an extended period. Ironically, this is also when I rely so much on the device also. With heavy usage, battery power just trickles away rapidly.
This its a question which I'm also interested in.
I found as I thought a good and not cheep battery on eBay but before purchasing I checked it in goggle and found android forum where people complain about this bataries. They looked under the sticker and the real battery power was something like 1500 mh instead of 5200.
So I deside not to risk with chip Chinese bataries.
If I had local store which sells bataries I would by. Thus I could change battery off it has fake marking.
Using standard browser with reversed colors can save battery life on amoled screen.
I used to this view and now some websites look even better.
I also tried some cpu tweaking tools.
Funny, today because of marketing companies put more unnecessary cores in the phones and than people install software to turn them off.
My experience with new batteries is not so great. Guess all companies make inflated claims. On the other hand I see significantly better battery performance on OMNIRom 4.4 atleast in standby mode. YMMV
