¿Transparent pulldown notification Bar on Gingerbread? - Android Themes

Hi all
I am theming my CM7 desire ROM, and i am trying to make the pulldown notification backgroud transparent.
In CM6 i change the status_bar_background.png in framework and thats all, but with CM7 seens this trick it's not working
Which png i need to change in CM7 to make the pulldown notification background transparent?
Thanks in advance and best regards

Ugh
I know MicroMod777 used some sort of transparency effect on his AOSP gingerbread build and provided a flashable zip file for it but It's no longer there. I can't seem to find it on my hard drive either.
Not sure if it would work with CM7 though...It SHOULD have but I guess we'll never know now
I'll keep looking around and try to find it on the forums.

have try that to but dont work.. is it nobody that know?

to make it transparent, the file is shade_bg in systemui.apk

How about status_bar_background.9.png in systemui/res/drawable-hdpi?

I'm not sure what you're trying to make transparent but here's a list of items and what images to edit.
Pull down background, what the notifications sit on top of. Systemui.apk /drawablehdpi/shade_bg
Notification pull down bar, the thing that typically has the grips and slides to the bottom of the screen. Systemui.apk /drawablehdpi/shade_handlebar.9 & status_bar_close_on.9
Where the carrier logo appears, Systemui.apk /drawablehdpi/title_bar_portrait.9
Status bar, Systemui.apk /drawablehdpi/statusbar_background.9
Hope this helps if not let me know exactly what you want transparent I'm sure I can help.

thanks that helped with my heroc rom

Is it possible to change the transparency with an actual picture?

IM Running Virtuous Sense on a tmobile G2!
Where in the world can i find Systemui.apk? Its not under System/app.

Umm, I really REALLY want to do this! I just don't know exactly what I'm supposed to do- Ifnmaybe you could walk me through it, I would be beyond grateful!

Search for Meizu CM7 theme he has the tutorial and patches.
The files are supposed to be pulled from your rims zip file. The search function helps after you extract the zip.
Not sure it can be done on sense rom...

After i got crazy trying to figure out how to change that background finally i found the solution!
Basically you need to modify this xml inside Mms.apk: res/layout/compose_message_activity.xml
just search for "#ffadc0ce" (light blue) and change to whatever color you like!
That said i guess you already know how to decompile apk, edit xml, recompile it. If it's not the case i can give you the xml modded file already compiled with white background color. If you don't like white just let me know!
its it a theme your using at your post #2 ?? cuz i like !

[Q] Cant achieve transparent status bar on 2.3.4 JVP

for the couple of past days I tried to make the status bar (where the clock and the signal strength). I read alot.. tried to change stuff at SystemUI.apk but whit no success...
It seems to me that something is changed at this matter from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4.
If someone could take a look or maybe point something that can make it fail.
Thanks
bumpppppppp
Have you tried decompiling the framework.Res to get the image files and then pushing the new ones over via adb?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Thats what I tried to do..
but in SystemUI.apk
from what I read freamework-res.apk have no effect on the status bar..
in 2.3 SystemUI.apk is responsible for that
+1 that is exactly what I'm looking for, a complete transparent status bar , if it possible to modify for JVP roms.
Something like this :
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Isn't there any solution?
If it's a PNG format graphic, maybe try overwriting it with a totally transparent file. Have you overwritten the status bar in all the different Res image folders (if applicable that is). I might go back to stock tonight and have a looksee at it to see if I can figure it out.

I'm waiting for your good news.
jvp_transparent_notification.zip
I downloaded this from this forum but i cant find which thread.
Is that what you are looking for?
Many thanks dear yken
I'm looking for transparent status bar, I think this is a transparent notification menu.
But, I think it can help me.
Thanks again.
Just look in ultimate online theme kitchen (i think it's uot.dakra.it)
There you upload your systemUI and activate the option "transparent satusbar" then let it cook.for you. And download the. Zip and flash it.through CWM

Tried that.
It doesnt do anything.
I did it also, but nothing happened, If you try to use a status bar with 0% transparency , You lose your status bar instead transparent it !
And after Restart everything came back.
Change launcher.
A lot of launcher don't support 32bit resolution which is needed for transparency.

I'm on GO Launcher EX.
Is there a problem with this launcher?
I'm on GO Launcher EX too.
yes, try to use stock touchwiz or another launcher that support 32-bit resolution.
16bit is used for performance
i hope, i can help

Not sure what you mean. You decompile the whole apk with that in it. Then you edit it without messing up the .9 image. Then recompile it.

When I use Apk Manager and go to Decompile with dependencies, I select SystemUI.apk first, then I drag and drop Framework-res.apk into the Cmd, but I get error "Sorry that's not the dependee apk, try again."
EDIT: I figured it out... Had to change some settings inside Apk Manager... Thanks a lot

It's in there. I am not at my computer at the moment, but will tell you the png to change later, when i get home. If I do remember right it's in the drawable folder, not drawable-hdpi..

def. do not see it in the drawable folder, there is one in drawable-hdpi, drawable-hdpi-v9, drawable-mdpi, drawable-mdpi-v9. All of which have been changed :-(. I appreciate any other suggestions you can offer. This is a fairly straight forward image swap right?

Yeah found that one and swapped it out. Named the old one stat_notify_email(old).png and the new one stat_notify_email.png. No change to my notification icon.
I was being dumb and not flashing the apk in recovery. Got it done now, here is my new gmail notification. Thank you for your help and patience.

For future reference...
If the gmail apk updates. Like you actually accept a new update from the market, the icon will change back to original. At that point you need to modify the gmail apk that will be in the data/app folder

I've run into a problem. I went into data/app and changed the gmail apk extension to .zip and then I replaced the notification image png file in the drawable xhdpi folder (I have Galaxy S3), rebooted into CWM Recovery and tried flashing in the gmail.zip folder that I edited but got an installation aborted error. I then rebooted and just tried pasting this gmail.zip folder into data/app but changed extension back to .apk yet the app wouldnt install. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

I haven't used UOT kitchen, so I can't tell you exactly how to fix it from there, but the problem is that it is using images that are sized for phone status bars. Does UOT have an option to increase the size of battery icon, maybe specified for tablets? If not, you could extract the pngs from the apk, resize them manually, and stick them back in before pushing the updated apk to your device.
Please make one that uses the default icons but has a black background .. please?
Thanks in advance

I dont know why i cant compile the framework-res.apk again after i decompile it, if u could, can u compile that with a modded xml that change the battery icon to square size like 32x32? With 16x32 this ratio, i cant use most of uot battery icon or it will very ugly......
