Wifi Tether App is unnecessary for me, and I would like to flash via fastboot.
When can we expect rom?

Why not cyanogen 6.1.2?
Sent from my GT540 by MBt

i havent updated to it yet but i am tonight then doing the rom so it should be uploaded at some stage tonight lol

Hmm. What's the difference to openswift? I don't mean the apps.
Sent from my GT540 by MBt

I'd avoid including paid apps in anything you'll link to from this forum (Unrar Pro, Lithium Player...)
Sorry to sound like I'm your Dad or something

Ye true.
Sent from my GT540 by MBt

@MegaBubbletea i havent changed anything within openswift just trying to make it faster and easyier to use

Oh. You should fix the bugs in it at least...that would be great.

i would but i havent had the time to learn rom building from source lol i plan to start doing that soon

Why there are no Custom Roms?

Can anyone answer the question?? No Cyangogenmod, Villain and all the other cool custom Roms.. What is the Reason/Problem..?
Sent from my GT-I9000 (XXJPK) using XDA App
Actually there are a couple of them in the Dev area based on the beta versions of Froyo.
For the most part I think everyone is waiting for the final Froyo to be released before investing the time in a beta rom.
my 2 cents
But this all not really Roms.. They are themed an they removing/install Apps on the Stock Rom..?! :/
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
what do you consider a Custom ROM?
there are many skinned Custom ROMs if you check inside the Development area
They are working on Cyanogenmod (starting with Vibrant first though)
I mean with a Custom Rom a full themed flashabel Rom.. Like Cyangogenmod, Villain..!
Like at the HTC Phones..
But thanks for the Information with the Cyngogenmod
And another Question..
How to Install another Bootanimation?
Thanks for the Answers ;D
No working BootAnimation for i9000 till now.
Why there are no Bootanimations? Anyone know?
the OS has been hacked by samsung, and the files works slightly differently
and no one has bothered to figure out how to make it work on the SGS yet, that's why
it's in the low priority list

[Q] Best rom for optimus 2x

Hello guys
I got an optimus 2x, and was planning to root it, or whatever you call it From day one, I was really dissapointed with the LG stuff, it got better with launcherPro, which made my homescreen much much faster and smoother. I think this phone has enormous potensial, but bad software. Therefore, since I am new to this forum, I am looking for the "best" root or rom thing for it. Maybe there is many different versions, but I like things clean, simple, fast and smooth. thats what she said.
Anyway, I've seen a friends rootet xperia, and he said he got some new UI with folders and stuff. I dont mind this, only it is good, and maybe it will be customisable still?
Problems Ive had with the phone: Random shuttdown, ugly apps like facebook for LG and antivirus etc. Buggy lockscreen. Battery goes to 0% when it randomly shuts down.
Is it wise to get 2.3 on the optimus 2x? I would love some inputs from you guys also, what you like the best and some general experience. Will I be able to update my phone when im rooted, like from the settings options from the phone? dno if this is important or not.
Anyway, links would be appriciated to official threads or direct links to your recomended roots/roms. Thanks
I have no experience with this, so a HOWTO guide or a youtube vid would be nice. Ive only done jailbreaking on 3.1.2 on 3gs
Cm7 is still in a nightly on the o2x but it has alot of bugs, i think. Mdc fr17 is very stable and fast, it's 2.2.2 though

If you want a clean, simple, fast and smooth ROM like you said ide go for the Modaco Fr17 Vanilla version -
http://android.modaco.com/content/l...om-rom-for-the-lg-optimus-2x-vanilla-edition/
This is also extremely stable as its based on the stock ROM but with all bloatware removed, also read some of the pinned topics on the links below, this will show you all you need to do.
http://android.modaco.com/category/506/lg-optimus-2x-2x-modaco-com/
For bleeding edge stuff, hope on the CM7 nightly train, but don't complain if it crashes.
If you want stability, then try the MoDaCo stock based ones.
You don't need much of a tutorial to do it, use SuperOneClick to gain root, grab ROM Manager from the Market and use that to install ClockworkMod Recovery... download the ROM you want, wipe & install (also via CWM if you don't want to fiddle)
Hi
If you don't want to install a custom ROM:
have a look at this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037751
-Install latest firmware and baseband for your region (or another region if you prefer)
-root your phone
-Install ROM Manager from Market and install ClockWorkMod Recovery from there
-Install dexopt fix
Now that you have a good base, look in market for an app to uninstall system apps (I have used Root Uninstaller). To completely remove system apps I think you need to remount /system rw, else you can freeze apps for easy restoring if you mess up.
I would also recommend installing launcherpro from market (replace home screen and app drawer) and google stock lockscreen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1033776&highlight=aosp+lockscreen
Thanks for the help guys. Im gonna try the Modaco Fr17 Vanilla version. I have an exam tmrow and will therefore not try it out until the afternoon. I also have to read some, and learn the difference between root and boot, and some of ur advance words havent found a real guide yet, but have the iso and all those other folders that was in the Modaco Fr17 Vanilla version.
great fun
I think the phone drain battery too fast in 2.2 (official rom)
I loose 40% of battery within 6 hours without using anything (when I'm sleeping during a night)
That's why I change to use 2.3 and I found that the battery problem is gone
I loose 1% in 12 hours.
I'm also new to the fun world of android. I've learned alot by simply reading threads and using google to explain som of the terms Read the roll up thread very thorougly, explains alot.
I'm now using CM nightly #31 and it's been very stable for me.
Just do some backups and start toying around with your phone, it's fun!
..but I like things clean, simple, fast and smooth = cyanogenmod!
So far, from temasek is the best.. he got a custom kernel too.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421425
My Opinion,
Android 2.3 from teamsek. It is just brilliant.
Android 4.0 from xxMrHyde + Nova Kernel is quite good keeping in mind the state of ICS on the 2X.

i advice to newcomers to flash first a stable CyanogenMod build.
then when they want to go further flash a Custom Kernel (for CM7 i think the best one is Etana)
after that take what ever you want! Try, try and try.
but pay attantion to not become a flashacolic :silly:
try nove HD
Nova HD is also great . now im using it..

Me too, it's the best ICS Rom i've ever seen, no lags, super fast (@1ghz!) and IMO completely stable, just some little bugs.

NOV 26[ROM]{mod} Barebones Froyo 10E.. 150mb

150 mb with gmail, flashplayer, and 3d gallery installed. This Rom works with all Froyo kernels (great job guys). It is not deodex as deodex is slower and for me odex is just as easy to theme, but the framework-res can still be swapped by themes matching the 10e version. It is a diet of the original with some tweaks. Thanks to all the other developers in the thrill and o3d Roms. My base file is used by the back to stock file. I could have made one but thanks to him (gtg465x) for 10e base.
Must have cwm recovery to install. This install does not erase data so you may have to manually erase in recovery menu depending on what rom you come from.
Just put in sdcard and install as zip in recovery.

Rom download
Barebones_10E
want your 3d games than just install this in recovery (tested on 10e)
3d_games
Most widgets and LG home (tested on 10e)
in order to use this zip please open the zip file up and delete all apps you DO NOT want to install.
widgets.LGhome
Barebones Froyo
removed tons of apps
changed screen density, VM size, and several other tweaks
signal says 4g instead of H+
sony ericson battery charge animation
Ultima battery icons/animation
modded lockscreen (looks like the whole bottom lights up)
color turn off buttons
lg home (used Arc Launcher)

i myself will be sticking with 1oK V4 for now, connection is consistent
no fc's, all the games play with no jittering so overall very happy camper
I changed my mind... i am know sticking with my gingerbread rom. Signal is a little shaky sometimes but the features and smoothness more than make up for it.

[ROM] CRQ 1.3 for HTC Legend (Based on WWE 3.15.405.6) [25.02.2012]

I present you my first publicly released (and probably last) ROM for the Legend.
This isn't something revolutionary. It's just a ROM I've cooked for myself and i you willing to try it, go ahead. It contains a hell lot of stuff made by others which are respectably credited (I hope ).
Always make a nandroid, and flash on your own risk!

Darktremor's A2SD
Wake on trackpad

StreetView
Market
Voice Search
YouTube
Installation
No rocket science - Wipe and flash via Clockwork
First run will take some time since the ROM is deodexed
Issues
Even if you use A2SD, internal memory may shrink very fast after installation. That's because Darktremor Script is enabled by default and this is due to dalvik-cache not being moved to SD on first boot. Use A2SDGUI to move and rebuild it. This can take up to 5 minutes.

Great ROM! If only it was based on gingerbread though...
Minor update. DL link updated in first post.
you know what would be cool a froyo sense rom were you have gpu ui rendering and pinch to zoom in photo gallery and in browser like 2.1 used to have instead of using HTC`s stock crappy ported rom that made a pretty good phone running on eclair performe horrable in froyo (performance increase my ass, the phone may be better under the hood but for a simple picture viewing.........
and having andother app on it to do that, kinfa makes the sense rom worthless
wouldn`t you agree

Wow, I know which ROM I'm heading to if I ever need to go back to Sense. Well done!
compare android 2.1 with sense for legend (browser, gallery app, fps in games) and any 2.2 with oveclock you will see a huge difference as the 2.1 is much smoother because every 2.2 sense is stock based and it runs horrable (nobody tweaked it in the general ui)
or maybe my legend just hates 2.2 roms
I tried this ROM, and the Adobe Reader gets FC everytime I try to open it

If you're not S-OFF or unlocked it will. Just like any app trying to write something to /system.
So far so great! I wanted something wellworked that WASN'T a Gingerbread ROM - Why? Because they're worse for the Legend since there aren't any bloody drivers, making wifi unstable and breaking tether into forced ad-hoc mode, which doesn't work with my Transformer ICS.
I think I'm S-On though, which is poop.

I thinks its just you. When i was still using stock froyo, it worked smoothly for me without overclock... just don't overclutter your phone with lots of widgets

What he said was true, Froyo Sense base roms on HTC Legend are worse than Eclair Sense/Espresso ones. I had a lot of chances to compare these in the past (while I'm still using HTC Legend) since I cooked them alot. The FPS of 2.1 is always higher than 2.2's (using Neocore to benchmark), and the UI is faster for sure.
Fortunately, the ported 2.3 Sense Rom from HTC Wildfire S/Salsa is as smooth as 2.1 Sense (as I remember), so definitely HTC did a better job and Froyo Sense was totally a failure.

Is there farsi or arabic or persian patch for this rom?

CM9 Theme Manager for Stock ICS

Ive looking around multiple threads and forums and I cant seem to find how to add the CM9 Theme Manager to Stock ICS 4.0.4?
Does anyone know how to add just the CM9 Theme Manager to Stock ICS? I never liked CM9 or CM10 so I decided to build myself a custom ROM that fits my needs. Im already running it, but I wanted to maybe add a theme to it but stay on Stock ICS.
If anyone has a solution please let me know
Why still ICS?

It's just not the app, you'll need to make framework and app changes to make them theme-able by CM theme manager. Not just "building" by throwing stuff in a zip but rather compiling and picking what you want from CM sources.
I dont know why, but I love ICS. and oh alright thanks! So how would I go about recompiling the source to make Stock ICS use the CM9 Theme Manager:?
Never seen a rom aosp "stock" , with theme mgr or chooser in it. Try a cm based rom or aokp. Codename android was great.
