[MOD/GUIDE]This is HOW TO Remove HTC Lockscreen and Get Default Android one. - Wildfire Android Development

Hello Everyone,
This is Just a small and easy mod/guide for all those who want Default Android Lockscreen and like me hate the HTC slide down Lockscreen:
Usual Warning : I am not responsible if by doing the steps below ::
You brick your phone (Highly unlikely if you follow only given steps).
Your GF starts loving your phone and wants it.
Your GF gets pregnant. Its you who did it .. well hopefully
Let's not delete your lockscreen just keep it in case you want it back. yeah yeah i am all for safety just like my rom.
(Always be safe)
STEP BY STEP GUIDE
Connect your phone and use ROM manager to reboot into recovery alternatively you can disconnect your phone reboot into recovery (vol down+power) and then connect your cable when you can see the green text.
Select partition menu or mount ** (dont remember the option its mount something something) depending on your recovery version and Mount system
Now i hope you know how to use adb. (Download and install android sdk)
Open command prompt (cd "path to android-sdk-windows/tools" without quotes) on my pc for example it is
Code:
cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools
If you're on LINUX i am sure you know what to do.next all instructions are same:for Windows and Linux
Run following commands
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv HtcLockScreen.apk HtcLockScreen.bak
exit
Now you will get a nice transparent default android lockscreen.
In case you want your stock HTC lockscreen back do this
Code:
adb remount
adb shell
cd /system/app
mv HtcLockScreen.bak HtcLockScreen.apk
exit
I have tried this with SUnAaBh ROM and it works flawlessly and ideally should work with every ROM including those not meant for HTC Wildfire.
The suggestion in the next post i.e post No.2 will cause your framework to change i.e your Theme and look of icons on notification bar, dropdown bar, battery icon etc SO to Preserve your framework just INSTALL THIS FILE..its same from attachment.
Hit Thanks if it helped.

This doesnt fix the Alarm clock bug that appears when removing the HTC lockscreen.
This does:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=10192875&postcount=2
Using it on Wildpuzzle 0.1 with no problems.

Will using this work:
- If you set a alarm ( for waking up or something ), does it work then?
- If you start Angry Birds, to make it working I must power off my screen, go to lockscreen and unlock it. And then I could play. Does this work too with this lockscreen?
Thanks in advance!

I am using CM7 which uses the default Android Lockscreen, and, the Lock Unlock Procedure works for Angry Birds.

and the "cd" before the c:/blabla/blabla does not work..
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App

I've tried this a minute ago! And it's really simple.
1. Download the android-sdk-windows folder and place it anywhere
2. start cmd.exe ( open it via start > cmd.exe )
2. Enter: cd: C:\whatever\whatever\android-sdk-windows\platform-tools
3. enter: adb.exe
4. then enter the things from the first page ( the adb commands )
5. unmount system ( ! ) on phone
6. reboot phone.
And you got it! I really don't ever used adb! So it's really simple with instructions. Maybe you could include my instructions?

can somebody show screenshot with default screen lock and htc? because i dont understand know about what are you talking. I had one screen lock since i bought mob with 2.1 android and know i have other one with 2.2. / 2.3 android. I nothing changed, nothing deleted and i like it.

Run the setup dcs in the Android ask folder and make sure you do it as admin in Vista and 7. You'll probably have to force http in options, most people do.

Blue Pull-Down Status Bar Mod [DK28]

This is my first mod
Tell me how you like it and don't forget to thank if you like it
**REQUIRES ROOT** I am not responsible for any damage done to your device.
Never tried it in 2.1 or DI18, probably would work but not positive. If anyone tries it tell us how it works
-------------------------------
(You will need SDK & ADB)
Instructions:
1. Download the twframework-res.apk
2. Move the twframework-res.apk to the tools folder in the SDK (Usually in C:/Program Files/Android/sdk...or something in that range) [Where ever your SDK is]
*If adb is in platform tools, cut and paste the 3 adb files into tools*
3. In the tools folder, make sure no files are selected and hold shift and right click, then select open command window here.
4. Enter the following 6 commands in this order (ignore # signs or $ signs):
*Your device should ask to allow something SU permissions be sure to accept*
adb push twframework-res.apk sdcard/twframework-res.apk
adb shell
su
remount rw
cat sdcard/twframework-res.apk > system/framework/twframework-res.apk
reboot
Congratulations!!! Your phone should reboot and everything will look as it did in screenshot
I like the look. Might want to put it in a flashable .zip to get more users.

Sweet, its short and to the point, but if you click here you can customize it a little more. Some of the wording is similar to this OP as well.
I would love this on my phone but I'm still to new to flashing and roms and tweaking. It would go great with my current layout and color theme
What, I dont get any credit? Kidding. I wanna be in the credits though, I helped. >.> <.<

(25/3)Best and most stable rom ever[ext2][daily-use]

Download rom:-

Installation ...
1- Create (ext2) partation on your card ...
like in this video....
http://www.neopeek.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=146
2- Copy contents from the rar file to SD card ...
3- Open folder npkinstall and run install.exe
4- After restart open haret.exe normaly ...
5- download better keyboard from attachements and put it in ur androidapps folder in sd card
__________________________________________
you must do this to make ur button work and to be able to restart it by one press
open terminal emulator then type the following :-(press enter when u write the letters in each line)
Code:
su
mkdir /data/opt
cp /sdcard/autostart.sh /data/opt
chmod 755 /data/opt/autostart.sh
Then install autostart.apk (found in the rom source folder)
When your buttons stop functioning, you have to run a script from GScript that reinstalls the modules so they work once more. Perform these steps:
Install GScript.apk
Open GScript Lite and press <menu> button, then <add script>
Press the <Load file> button.
The script you need is located autmatically and is called "XPEROID Gscript Button restarter script.sh"
Select it and then in the new screen press <Save>
You can now return to your homescreen and add a shortcut to the script so you can reset your buttons easily. To do this do the following:
Press <menu> and then <add> to add widgets.
Select <shortcut> from the list and then locate and select <GScript Lite>
Then select the "XPEROID Gscript Button restarter script" and you now have a shortcut on your homescreen to reset your buttons.

read first post!!!
It seems like you forgot to say that some keyboard application should be downloaded and placed on SD card before taping a script code that you have posted in Emulator, because at the time of first run there is no possibility to tape anything at all (HW keyboard doesn't work without running the script, but the script itself cannot be run without it) Anyway it is useless because there is no way to run Edit command within Gscript, because... HW keys don't work!
Please, correct your first post keeping in mind that HW keys don't work without some doing.
Anyway, it could be a really good thing, it runs so smooth!
so i should copy
Better KB.apk
Ginger KB.apk
Smart KB.apk
SwiftKey KB.apk
to the root of the sd card first before i run haret is that correct?
Here is the guide wich allows you to wake keyboard with 1 click instead of rebooting the device. Guide is for freshly installed android (so no just updating the kernel).
1. Move autostart.sh from the included Folder and place it to your SD card
2. Install android like normal.
Until step 8, keys won't work, except for camera and power button. If you screw up, press camera button to return to the home screen.
3. Launch "Terminal Emulator". Soft keyboard should pop up.
4. Type "su" (everything without quotes from now on). Press enter. Symbol on the left should change to #.
5. Type "mkdir /data/opt" and press Enter.
6. Type "mv /sdcard/autostart.sh /data/opt" and press Enter.
7. Type "chmod 777 /data/opt/autostart.sh" and press Enter.
8. Type "sh /data/opt/autostart.sh" and press Enter. Software keyboard should disappear now and keys should be working.
9.Install application "autostart.apk"
From here, your android is working. If you wish to add 1-click keypad fix, then continue reading ...
10. Install application "GScript Lite".
11. Open GScript Lite.
12. Press left softkey (menu) and select "Add Script".
13. Load (XPEROID Gscript Button restarter script.sh)
14. Press save.
15. Return to the homescreen
16. Hold your thumb to get "Add to home screen" menu.
17. Select Shortcuts --> GScript Lite --> Script that you just created.
And now, each time your keyboard or front keys stops working, simply press camera key and tap on that icon you've just created
P.S.: this is not my work, i have just adapted what users seandean and yaana created. All credits go to them.
ON screen soft keyboard not present?
I can notate that screen keyboard is not present/installed?
And for the keyboard you can connect the phone through adb shell navigate to /sdcard/ and do the next:
chmod 775 autostart.sh
sh autostart.sh
Then you can do the configuration above ;-)
Hi , everything sounds good.
I am going to install / try directly when i am free of work
Most steps are normal steps when installing Android on X1.
However i do not understand what is meant by:
"open terminal emulator then type the following". Could someone explain how to do this (open terminal emulator)?
Is this done when having booted in Android? And if yes, how can i do this
Many MANY thanks in advance.
Willp ost results when i have had the time to test tonight
EDIT: ok tried it....looks VERY smooth, however i cna not get terminal emulator to do naything..
The peeps above are right... no soft Keyboard is present.
Any easy solution to this? (asume i have to install a soft kb first i gues...think i will give that a try.
Well i got this version up and running .
I just installed a software tobo myself and then i went through all the steps required.
Have not yet had much time to check the possibilities and speed.
but first impressions are good
(before this one i had the honeycomb V2 Android running. this one "feels" better.
Wifi: still unstable (on/off at random, like in every build i installed)
Speed: looks VERY good
Battery: hard to say, going to see how long he will be up today.
Charging: Still have to connect in winmo in order to be able to load
Software: Market etc. running very good.

I really followed the instructions as in the first post, I also made the ext2 partition, so I don't know
plz give it a 2nd try and tell me
Ok, installing again as we speak.. but thats only because it has dutch language support
(ok, ok, ánd because of full launcherpro version
ánd beautifull widgets (even while i dont use the widgets)
but it would be so much perfect if...
- keyboard would be installed on start (since no soft-keyboard is installed by default)
- kernel will be updated to last (Duckly's Kernel [3-9-2011]) (it also contains changelog = No Sleep Of Death)
- maby overclock to 650 Mhz (or is it already overclocked?
- betterterminal ssh would be fixed, or deleted, because both times i installed it didnt work..
(java.io.IOException: Unexpected http status code 404 Expected 200)
Jhonnie's own graphic request:
- auto-install startupcleaner would be banished,
it has a hideous icon in top! Juch! (and it can't uninstall it )
- bootanimation.zip will be changed to gingerbread's one
- why it got the fancy transitions between screens? fast, but may be to kinky.....
(can i disable the transitions in android install??)
Q's:
1.can some1 tell me how i do install drivers for ADB/debug usb?
2.does the android setup (first boot) always crash?
3.if you add autostart to AndroidApps, does it really autostart keyboard drivers,
or is this a one-time install android ever..?

Keyboard Issue's, how to solve them!

Hi Guys,
This is driving me crazy. A lot of people, who are too lazy to search. Well, here you go.
Allright, you brought your Xperia X1 with android. Now, there is a problem. Once in a while, the keyboard does not respond, only action is a reboot. HELP?
Allright, lets get started.
Download this package:
http://www.mediafire.com/?cp1o1glxjo145pu
Install a android of your choice(just normally).
Unpack, and copy all (yes, all) contents to you SD card.
Move the turbo or Monster kernal to the NKBoot Map, click yes to replace any excisting files.
On your computer, open up the readme, and read it carefully.
After step 4(after you entered 'su') type this:
rm /lib/modules* -rf
That will remove your current modules, and at the next boot, they will be replaced.
Reboot, and proceed with step 5 and the rest. Follow the guide excactly, then you're good!
Have a nice evening!
Not Test, But Thanks You !!!! I Need
sorry to say but when i folled your guide to just after step 4 when typing the -rf
it says cannot remove read only file system
is that normal?
thanks
yes it is. just reboot after the error, then the new modules will install!
Just thinking ... a dev might know it this is possible ...
Hm, perhaps, best solution at the moment would be, to run the unload-load-script when the phone is waking up from sleep mode. So, when keypad is lost, the user can send to sleep with the power button an immediately switch it on again ... and additionally, the script can run when a call comes in ... don't know if these events can get picked up and the event-handlers can be changed, just thinking ...
Ciao

Don't know if this could be a good option. Because I have had some freezes when runing the script. And sometimes the screen changes it orientation.

Shouldn't it be?:
After step 4(after you entered 'su') type this:
rm /lib/modules/* -rf
mind the /
Anyway, I tried both ways, and rm /lib/modules/* -rf seems to work, but I can't load back into CWM if I install a kernel with seperate keyboard modules. I think I mess up the exact order of installing normal, removing modules, replacing kernel, restarting. Hope this will work
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072387
Yes. I can restart keyboard after freeze. Although with eggy monster kernel, my screen is rotated 90degrees after that.
No. I can't get back into CWM, after I switched to a kernel with seperate modules.
The original kernels of Honeycomb v3 both worked.
I tried the kernels with seperate modules of this post and i tried the ygge kernels.
Can this be solved? No. But apparently, there is a workaround http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1072387.
when I type "sh /data/opt/autostart.sh" and press Enter, I get this error:
"insmod: can't read '/lib/modiles/microp-ksc.ko': no such file or directory
insmod: can't read '/lib/modiles/microp-keypad.ko': no such file or directory"
Can you help me?.
Where is kovsky keyboard modules????
I using ygge kernels with HoneyComb Froyo V.3
PS: sorry I used the same post in several threads

4X extremely slow after rooting/reboot

So, I followed the guide we all did here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1818502
And before someone asks: I have deleted the Backup app (IS11LG_SystemBackupTest.signed.apk) we had to install during rooting after the phone was rooted.
The phone then happily ran, rooted. SUpersu was installed/updated, the phones root check said it's all perfect, I was a happy camper. But today I had to reboot it. I can't say if it was the first reboot after rooting, sadly. The phone boots up, arrives at the lockscreen (some colorful defaultthing, before I get to see my GO Locker screen after login), and then stops being responsive, it basically at first feels like it's not reacting at all. Some things are responsive, strngely ... I get accurate sounds when touching the screen for instance. If I then wait, I eventually get to the SIM Unlock ... which is also totally unresponsive, it will maybe show two digits, then freezes up. Strangely, I could type the remaining digits and hit OK and the SIM would unlock ... but the screen no longer showed what I typed. I then arrive at GO locker, can unlock it (sluggish and slow again) and finally am properly logged in, but still totally sluggish and slow. Needles to say it's a pseudobrick that way, unusable.
What's going on and what could I check?

REALLY SLOW AFTER ROOT?
Remove the "SystemBackupTest" app, if you haven't already.
On your phone, go to "Settings -> Developer options" and make sure "USB debugging" is TICKED
Connect your phone via USB to your computer.
Open a command prompt (may need admin privelages, right click, run as administrator)
Type without quotes "cd C:\o4xr" and press enter.
Type without quotes "adb shell rm /data/local.prop" and press enter.
Type without quotes "adb reboot" and press enter.

Thanks, that fixed it! It's not easy to do, as the scrolling lists do not work, either, and you can't seem to get to the developer options, it won't scroll. Strangely enough "internally" it seems to do things ... if you re-enter the options, they're down to the end of the list, it looks like it doesn't update the screen properly (much like when I had to enter the SIM code).
Anyway, it's fast again, whew ... I was scared. What is the local.prop thing, if I may ask?

I'm not entirely sure, I just know it gives us temp root for the rest of the root script to run.
Hm, so its' not a systemwide ini file or so, that existed before ... it was created during the above rooting process and was an undesired leftover from it? I'm always a bit worried if I delete something with such an unspecific name in the OS

Its actually created by the SystemBackupTest app.
The script then removes it just before issuing a reboot.
The only way it can come back, is if you accidently open that app again before uninstalling it.

It looks like you have either plugged in more than one android device, or you have an android emulator (from the SDK I guess) running. Unplug all USB devices (except keyboard and mouse) and then try again. Good luck!
If you have an emulator running try "adb -d shell rm /data/local.prop"
Edit: To see all adb-devices type "adb devices". This will return a list of all adb-devices connected (emulators + usb devices)

I still don't understand and hope you do it...
THX for your help!
As you can see the same device is listed two times. Restarting the adb server may help. Just type "adb kill-server" and than launch the second command from your screenshot. Maybe this works.

The devices is detected and the command is executed, but the file does not exist. Make sure that there is a file "prop.local" at /data. If not, you may have a different problem.
Maybe you have an emulator running or Bluestacks installed... Uninstall Bluestacks...
I don't think that this is the case as the device shows up with a serial number in the "adb devices" list.
To be sure it is the correct phone you could compare the serial number shown in the list with the serial number of your phone (you might find this information in settings -> about phone).

An emulator is a program which emulates Android so you can execute Android-Apps on your PC. BlueStacks is an emulator. It may show up as an adb devices, but this is not the case here.
Back to your problem: Are you sure the rooting process worked?
Did you reboot your phone after rooting?
I didn't root my phone under ICS so I don't have any experience with this
no one raised this question to confirm or did this info was provided anywhere
What version of ROM? ICS V10x? JB V20x? User could had used the wrong guide.
Best way out is to do a reflash and retry rooting if all fails.
