I'm pretty sure theres an adb command which brings up an additional program where you can screenshot or logcat from, I can't remember it though, ill try and let you know.

I believe you are referring to ddms. I have seen the option, but I have not used it personally, just the log functions.

Thanks,I will try out ddms.

How do you take screenshots on a 2.2 rom??
shootme and screenshot apps dont work on 2.2.
any ideas?
I think you can take screen shots with ddms.bat from your computer. It's located in the android sdk-windows->tools folder. Same place as adb. I have never used it though. Maybe someone else can shed some light on it, but I have heard you can take screen shots with it.
I have been using shootme and it works.
I will attach some I took using shootme on 2.2

I don't know why it says that. I took those screenshots on Cyanogenmod 6.00 RC0 using shootme. Had no problem.

Sick! Can anyone confirm this is working?
Couldn't seem to get it to work (using kaosFroyo), but turning WiFi adb on manually works, someone else is welcome to try it on a 2.1 ROM though.

what exactly does this app do?
I ran the app. Did some minor things with ADB like install, unintall, add/erase files. Slight delay than wired directly but nothing to complain about. Worked great for me. I suggest trying it out if you use ADB commands a lot. I will use this a lot myself now my usb on my laptop is a little finiky at times so this will be a big help

It lets you do your ADB commands thru sdk/tools on your PC without the need to conect your phone to your computer. For those who are not familiar with ADB commands, here is some commands you can try out. Still can not figure it out? then Google is your friend

[Q] Music Beta by Google on my Hero??

I am running CM6.2, Android 2.2 froyo on my Hero and I have a Google Music account I want to access from my Hero. Buttttt, the market won't let me install it since it says the Hero is not supported. Does anyone know where I can pick up the apk file or an alternate method to install it? Thanks.

Sign into google music beta online (assuming you got an invite). after you've signed in once using a computer browser, then installed/started syncing your computer music collection with the "music manager"
you'll be able to "sync" with the music beta app on your phone.

Off topic:
I'm against apple and the way it conducts things. (product price markups, closed source, among other things)
Osx in itself isn't all that bad, it's relatively easy for people to get and looks...fine. But that's about as far as it goes lol.
I will say that using adobe software -photoshop/after effects- along with a few other media software is nicer on osx than their windows counterparts. The keyboard shortcuts are more intuitive

I would like to know your setup, I've been trying to make it work with wine with no luck, keeps locking up at the sign in screen. That's as far as I have gotten. Other stuff runs fine in wine, I'm just guessing I'm missing a dll somewhere in my setup.

[Q] Tablet ROM

Hey
I read some very enthusiastic texts on the tables Roms for GN. What exactly am I missing? What is the additional benefit of such a ROM - compared to a standard phone ROM?
Thanks in advance.
c.
For example, on paranoid android, you get a mix of the tablet and phone interface.
This allows you to better distribute the screen space.
And it looks great
now that i installed it i can't ever live without.
And what exactly does "tablet interface" do? You have more space? That's it?
Please give me some more input, so that I get the advantage. Thx.

Try to get a tablet and a phone side by side, and compare the android interface. For example the toggle bar, notifications, settings menu.
If you still want I can post some screenshots. Just PM me

The PPA has the tools and dependencies to support Precise, Quantal and Raring. Add the Ubuntu Touch PPA by adding the following custom source list entry to your /etc/apt/sources.list file.
sudo add-apt-repository ppahablet-team/tools
Then do the following:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install phablet-tools android-tools-adb android-tools-fastboot

And that other Ubuntu thread (if you mean this one) doesn't have a list of whats working etc, which makes it convenient for people in a rush.

After flashing, it just felt like I was playing with a display unit rather than a 'developer preview' which was somewhat disappointing. Can't wait for an actual release, this has a lot of potential to be the start of something amazing IMO.

I think this could be incredible, especially with the convergence thing.
But what worries me is that it requires a 32gb sd card, and the N4 only comes in 8 and 16gb versions
I have some questions.
Does monitor mode work on Ubuntu Touch?
How much space is available after installation?
How do I enter a URL in the browser?
Edit: I just found out: pull the url bar from the bottom of the screen. If you drag from the bottom of the screen to the upcoming grey icon ou can close apps etc.
When i tried the preview yesterday i really liked how fast it booted(6 seconds after Google logo) and the clean home screen. Gestures were nice but too sensitive.
