What do you mean, like for in-call options?
I think he doesn't want to hit the green phone button, but the screen, to answer a call, as well as ending the call w/o using the red End button.

Yea i just saw a thread for the full screen pic but i can careless about that.. all i want it the answer and the end to be on the screen so i dont use the buttons on the phone.. used an iphone for a bit and now i keep catching myself touching the screen in frustration.. So is there something? and does it require a root? can I have a link if its not to much trouble ..the search feature here forwards u to google so its tough to use

so, you have only ever used an iPhone? Never a phone with buttons? it's not that hard to get used to it...
No smart ass i only used it for a day while unlocking it for my gf, i found it useful and was wondering if there was an app.. is that to much? This is the only toch screen phone ive used and the silicon case doesnt let the buttons light come through so it would be perfect for me. sorry for asking. And i didnt say its hard to get used to it just seems practical to have it on screen.

1st I'm guessing your a kid so thats strike number 1. Strike number 2 if you've read em then you'll or should understand that NO YOU CAN'T YET. Strike 3 I really can't see any one helping you when some one asks you a question you being an ass to them. Go check on Howard Forums they are more to your liking over there and will spoon feed things to you like you want.

Don't worry about them. Your question is legitimate, and the suggestion to use the buttons on the phone was a workaround, not a resolution. These internet tough guys like to show their virtual muscles for everyone to see. Just learn to ignore them.

I hate to add to this but the attitudes that some people are starting to give on this board is getting borderline annoying. To argue in this guy's defense, I searched for the same thing and got 12 pages of threads that still left me with this question.

I would agree with Turbo, it would be cool to have a function like this, however, when you are on your phone, your cheek rubs against the screen, (and don't tell me yours don't ever touch the screen) it would be nice to be able to have this option with an enable/disable function.

Well that WAS a problem b4 cupcake, not sure if you noticed or not but while on a call after several seconds the screen locks/sleeps, and when on a call and the Dialpad is up it requires a "Double-Tap to unlock" on screen to unlock it. Unless your chewing gum or bouncing it off your cheek it should not be a problem. You can also use Shake Awake.
Now if someone could make a app like OP wants, it would be NICE, as I been looking for something like it for a long time.

Yes, the Hero ROM describes what you're talking about. It has a Green "ANSWER" button and a red "DECLINE" button, just like the iPhone.
Unfortunatly, an APP can't do this yet because it's all built into the version of the phone, not an application itself. If someone could port it over, that'd be great!

well if im correct i dont think the hero rom is the only 1...i may be wrong but i think the HTC Magic ports that Haykuro did also had a different way to answer the phone it had the HTC dialer, its been a while since i used that rom been dealing with Hero, its a little more stable and user friendly then hero you may want to check that rom out.

i get what is being asked. i'd love to see it too, or even an option to turn on/off a function that takes the functions of the make call and end call functions right on the screen, and nice looking.
but then, i'm always ating things i have twice that do the same thing. and i cant break off the buttons... lol

I used to run off of Haykuro's builds since he started making them. I haven't seen any HTC builds with an on-screen answering option like the Hero build. I know all about the HTC dialer, but there's no on-screen things that are drastically different.
Besides, the Magic and the Dream have no difference UI-wise except for the tiny extra features that Haykuro's "H" builds have offered.
I'm getting the myTouch 3g slide for Christmas and was trying to see if anyone could explain to me on how to make the Galaxy S' puzzle lockscreen for the myTouch 3g Slide in a video or by instructions. All help is greatly appreciated.
I'm pretty positive that couldn't be done since I believe it is apart of Touchwiz. Unless you could port Touchwiz which would probably have issues since it runs under a different resolution.

I haven't looked into the res folder myself, but theoretically couldn't someone just change the background of the lock screen to a puzzle and change the slider to a puzzle piece?

It isn't that kind of thing the puzzle piece and the blank spot aren't a straight line from each other

Also you could ask nicer and actually do a little research yourself instead of expecting everything don't for you. It's not a simple port and if it was someone would have done it by now.

When I was 12, I didn't get the privilage to even have a phone like this. I see 12 year olds now who have the latest touch phones and are 7 ft tall.

It has already been done, I saw awhile back a galaxy S semi-port to the Slide. You guys are harassing him about his research when you can't do your own? Damn.

When he meant screen resolution he meant that the apps were designed for a higher resolution. The app doesn't alter your screen, you'd have to port the apps images to MDPI, and then port TouchWiz, which isn't easy. At all.

I don't think you get it. As far as roms go there is no such thing as custom requests. The fantastic devs here do what the can do with what they have. They give us the best they can. And because they are the ones who put in the hard work they choose how a Rom gets put together. The rest of us non devs must be thankful for what they give is cause without their hardwork, we would have nothing.
If you want what your asking for, you will have to a. Wait. Or b. Learn to code yourself.

Your post makes it seems like the devs don't have it ready already b/c someone like you hasn't specified a brilliant list of things to include.

If i had alot of money trust me i wouldnt be using an htc hero i would gotten the g2 by now.
I dont like htc evo. 1. It doesnt support 16 million pixels color, just like the rest of android phones since the original droid that came out in 2009(Nexus one,htc desire, Htc desire hd,Htc legend,Htc wildfire,Samsung galaxy and behold 2 series,G2,Mt4g,droidx,droid incredible,droid 2 and Defy).

Hi All. Long time follower on XDA for the G1 (9 months after the G1 debut) but first time posting. I just recently did the 2708+hboot hack for the 14mb to flash and test the lastest ROMs. I've tried everything that is currently available for download on XDA development and found that Laszlo 5.2 to be the smoothest and fastest (just as fast as Super CSDI).
I read through the entire post to see if anyone has experienced the same thing as I did, but no one really did. This ROM is amazing and everything is working great, but one thing. My question is--The Audible selection and screen lock sound do not work. One person ask about the screen lock sound not working, but no one answered. Is anyone else getting this problem besides me and is there a fix. I flash it several times and on 3 different G1s and get the same results. Maybe the download of the ROM I'm flashing is slightly corrupt. Any thoughts??? Thanks everyone for all your help through these years keeping the G1 alive and still amazing.

im not sure exactly what it is your talking about but i know besides what your saying i have no complaints about this rom... buuuuuuut it is getting old and hasn't had an update since i remember.. so im sure **** will be hitting the fan soon... all we can do is hope a better rom comes out or hope somebody has the balls to try messing with lazlo rom to improve on its minor bugs and issues

im not using that rom at the moment but as far as i know the sounds were working.. is he using a kernel with it? maybe its messing with it..
Don't know what you mean by "Audible selection", but I would guess for the lock/unlock sound you need to install the audio from addons (since it contains the file). Type "addons" in terminal and follow the on-screen prompts.

Thank you so much. Your suggestion fixed it. I was playing with Super Aosp 6.0 when you made the suggestion and I was very hesitant to flash again to find out that it might do nothing. But the speed of Laszlo was just to good to not find out, so I did and I'm glad I did.
I'm surprised that hardly anyone knew what I was talking about. So to clarify, if you go into Setting>Sound and then scoll down a bit you will see Audible selection and Screen lock sound options. The Audible selection is when it makes a 'Click' type sound when you select something. That extra audible feedback is very helpful.
I was going to just put up with Laszlo 5.2 even without sound if I had too, but I'm glad I don't.
Now I can finally stay with this for awhile to see if it is stable as well as fast.

I am no ordinary greenhorn, in fact, to be completely honest this is the first smart phone I have ever owned. Before this love affair began with my thrill 3D, I was partial to the cheap flip phones. So without further ado; I rooted her bricked her first by checkin out system tuner and seeing what would happen if I turned up a thing or two. When i woke in the morning jungle font stopped unexpectedly, so i pressed force close, it came back faster than i could pull my thumb away, after about a dozen or so times w/ the same result, I did what any sensible idiot comparable to uneducated stone would do and pulled the battery. She rebooted with no font. Factory reset, root again recover my beloved apps and data and then (again what any sensible idiot would and opened system tuner. in my defense, however i was only moving system files to sd not uninstalling them. 'ol thrill did not like that one bit and with a sudden burst of rage-full, maniacal, protest force closed files of all types, one super quickly right after another. it was a domino effect sort of thing. anyway, i tried the lg flash package steps several times to no avail, now it seems overwhelming. tomorrow i am dive right in to xda university deal i heard about, but in the mean time any help in getting my deeply missed thrill back on line would be appreciated so much more than most of you could imagine. i have a lot on plate and this couldn't have been a worse time for me kill my life line. Thank you guys in advance. sorry 'bout the long post, verbose is my middle name.

Actually my friend, I'm in my late thirties with two little boys. I'm a single dad, with zero presence from their biological co-founder. I'm a carpenter by trade, hence the cheap flip phones in the past. In addition to work and kids, I did start going to college full time (I'm in my second semester) for child psychology in order to better understand the difference between my youngest (4) who is developing typically and my oldest (7) who is autistic. In the middle of wrestling an already obese schedule, I am smack dab in the middle of fighting with the school district because they are (in my opinion based on my careful observation) stuck in the process of teaching autistic kids how to be more autistic rather than how to be "human" like most of the rest of us. To recover my boy from his public-school-bootloop seems to be as equally perplexing as my phone. A seventh grade education over twenty years ago only goes so far. So there it is, while I love to write, I am far from a frat boy, where they get laid in bed, I only lay in bed Embarrassing really, but my sacrifice is/will be the root of all of my boys smiles. I don't have the money nor the desire to buy a new phone. I love my thrill! It is imperative that I get it back online ASAP. Unfortunately often times a picture in crayon is what I need when it comes to some things. If you guys can't or won't help me get it going I figure it out, I always do. But no matter what, I will have my thrill. P.S. Mad props for all you guy that have put the effort into XDA University and the slang terms thread, I admire people who give up their time and energy just for the sake of sharing what they know, for us "noobs" that kind of generosity is the only way learn about such alien concepts and processes as these. Factory reset, root again recover my beloved apps and data and then (again what any sensible idiot would and opened system tuner. in my defense, however i was only moving system files to sd not uninstalling them. 'ol thrill did not like that one bit and with a sudden burst of rage-full, maniacal, protest force closed files of all types, one super quickly right after another. it was a domino effect sort of thing. anyway, i tried the lg flash package steps several times to no avail, now it seems overwhelming. tomorrow i am dive right in to xda university deal i heard about, but in the mean time any help in getting my deeply missed thrill back on line would be appreciated so much more than most of you could imagine. i have a lot on plate and this couldn't have been a worse time for me kill my life line. Thank you guys in advance. sorry 'bout the long post, verbose is my middle name.

I followed the instructions from an optimums thread by dark lestat, i tried four times. but absolutely nothing happened. Norton was a problem, fixed that. then found out what a com port was, let me ask anyway, that refers to the USB port right, and not communication port like maybe through a my firewall? i haven't tried a different USB cable yet cause i just found out about it tonite while i was looking for some answers. do i do anything with the kidz file? i would rather have a different ROM, what is the recovery manager for? and one more clarification, how do I know that it is working at the last step when i put the bat back in and connect the USB to my lap top? will it vibrate or screen flash or something. I am going to try again tomorrow. i learned a lot i didn't know today from xda u, so I don't feel so lost. I can build a house ,but droid recovery is a whole ball game! Thanks again Bigtech.

Does it matter which kdz file I choose, if so Which one should I use? I ended up with the official gingerbread cause it was the only link that worked.
use either v30b kdz of v28b kdz. they're both ics, which is, i believe much better than gingerbread
Any word if they got rid of the ghost call problem? And I am very surprised that ATT still cares about this phone considering they discontinued it like 5 months after they started to sell it

OK I have not read your other posts. Install Smartflash instead and install the 2 drivers. Then flash XBSA's pretty rooted ROM with Smartflash.
Download XBSA's V7.2 ROM and flash it from recovery.

my laptop won't let me run the b2capp says i have to connect to the net then press continue, i am already connected so i press and it just comes right back. any ideas why?
Same prob here. Had to disable anti virus.
