[ROM] [NANDROID BACKUP] Stock GRH78C for Nexus S Android 2.3.2 - Nexus S Android Development

I saw the post for the Stock GRH78 2.3.1 and did not see one for the 2.3.2. So I figured I would save some people a little time by creating this.
Same steps apply from the Original Post and starter momohammed20: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=884093
Or from the Unlockr Guide: http://theunlockr.com/2011/01/20/how-to-unroot-the-nexus-s/
Just instead of the file used in those steps use the one from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?p2ijd2dd2lkvn22
If anyone wants to mirror this no problem by me.
Credits to all the ones who deserve it I only take the upload of this nandroid backup and thats all. I tested it only on my phone and going from that it should work.
I am in no way responsible if you brick your phone while using the files i provided.
USE AT YOUR OWN RISK...
Yes this will WIPE your sdcard out so besure to back it up on your computer before doing this.
This nandroid backup was made by ClockworkMod 3.0.0.5

Why will it wipe my SD if it's just a nandroid???

No , this backup don't wip your sd , but the lock bootloader step will do it . Back up your sd to PC before relock bootloader

It didnt wiped the sdcard for me. All files still there.

Like tmhung said the lock bootloader step will wipe the sdcard. hence why i put it on there as a warning... if you do not lock your bootloader backup then no it will not wipe your sdcard.

No, only the unlock wipes the card. The lock does not.

Okay the unlock. I have been sick while doing this... so whatever makes it wipe the sdcard...
Point is though BACKUP your stuff to avoid losing data.

got a md5 mismatch error when trying to restore to this.
Nevermind, it worked but I should have asked if it was rooted first =/

is this rom for the 9020a?

thanx, it works like a charm

[Urgent Help] Milestone Stuck at M Logo No Solution Yet

Hi Guys!
I have already checked this post and it has not helped me a bit.
Here is what happened, I was installing the MileMIUI on my device using the Nandroid method. Everything was going fine until it rebooted after the restore. After reboot the screen is stuck at the M Logo.
I can access recovery so I so I tried Wipe Partition and Factory Reset, does not work.
I tried using RSD Lite, it identifies device (although does not show any information) it starts flashing but while rebooting it again gets stuck at the M Logo so RSD lite is of no use.
Please help me with this, is there anything I can do?
You could try to format the card... repartition it, then start the flash again.
Do backups of your data etc, and btw you could also try the flashing with RadioComm software which in many occasions proved to be more stable than RSD Lite and it is more advanced

Thanks will try RadioComm.
This may sound idiotic, but I had thought that maybe I can download another updated.zip file on my SD card and then install it on my phone from the recovery. Can it work? Or can anyone help me out with a Nandroid backup?

Anyone faces this, here is the solution or what I did:
Format the SD Card.
Install ADBRecovery.
Run Update.zip.
Create Nandroid Backup.
Download and Copy MotoFrenzy in Nandroid Folder.
Run Update.zip.
Restore from Nandroid.

Finally managed to pull the bml5 file out, but I've been informed that even with the code one cannot unlock the phone when the cm7 mod is installed. Is there perhaps a way to install stock rom on a partition and unlock there or even if I revert back to stock rom and back up this one will the unlock code still work (once I find it that is)?

Yes, you can go to stock and then come back to cm7... Just make a backup of your rom and then
Flash GB..
Unlock Your device...
Flash CWM recovery
Flash CM7 (new/clean install) in CWM
Wipe data amd cache...
[You can check if your sim is unlocked or not; Also doing a nandroid won't harm]
Then use advance restore and restore data and sd-ext i.e. CWM Menu>>Backup and Restore>>Advance restore>>Data and sd-ext

Factory reset doesn't delete the backup, that is stored in the SDcard (or emulated SDcard?)
Edit: Anyway you can flash the "full stock" ROM found in the development section

Your data shouldn't get wiped. No harm in making a backup though, just in case anything goes wrong. You'll just have to reflash twrp once you're done. Just out of curiosity, what's the software number of the update you got?

just a quick word of caution, last time I flashed back a stock recovery (and accessed it, but didnt do anything in it), I was unpleasantly surprised that it wiped my entire internal storage
be safe, and backup your stuff to your PC
and no, you do not need to lock your bootloader.

All the info needed to update is here http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/10/ota/
First flash the guru reset mentioned, then the OTA•
You could use titanium backup for all your apps and manually copy all the stuff from the internal sdcard to your pc. Making a nandroid won't really help, coz then you'll be restoring an older nandroid to a phone with a newer firmware, which doesn't work well. If you're completely stock right now, you could make a nandroid, and then after updating, if you want stuff to be like before, you could restore only your data partition. Works on Viper, not sure about stock.

I would
I use Titanium Backup Pro for that (there's also a free version), both require root though. if you need a solution without root, check out Helium; i've never tried it but it should also work.
for SMS and call logs, I use "SMS Backup & Restore" and "Call Logs Backup & Restore" by Ritesh Sahu, which work better than Titanium IMHO.
Then I put everything on my PC, and I'm good to go
Okay, maybe I confused you a bit here, lets do this step by step
1. Make a nandroid of your current rom(data partition) with twrp (make sure you copy this to your pc), backup all apps with titanium backup, copy all data from internal storage
2. Flash guru reset.
3. Flash OTA.
4. Flash twrp, get root
5. Make a nandroid of the new rom (just in case), and then restore only the "Data" partition from the nandroid backup. If it works, amazing. If not, restore all apps from titanium backup. Good luck

Edit: i have got the link to stock recovery: http://d-h.st/rZj
Do i have to worry about anything else.. Things i will do now:
1. make a backup of all sd-card data
2. make a titanium backup of all apps
3. use Super Backup : SMS & Contacts to backup call logs, sms and contacts
4. make a nandroid backup of system
5. Flash the stock recovery
6. do an OTA update
I thing this much will do the update right? or is there anything to worry about?

Why I'm suggesting that you download the guru reset is that it'll ensure that you're completely stock before the OTA. having a rooted rom with all of those tweaks that anyone will generally install can cause many complications, so just to keep the process straightforward, rather do it. Leave it to download overnight By "nandroid backup of system", do you mean a complete backup or only of the system partition? Because, you need to make a backup of your data partition, not system. A complete backup will also do.

This is simply a restore from TWRP backup, so I think it will only affect /system, /data, /cache if you don't check others. Sdcard and External SD should stay remain. Anyway I'm still downloading...

No,it won't boot since you don't have LP bootloader. LP rom won't boot on KK bootloader.
Warning to users- You may brick your device if you tinker and flash LP rom on variants other than C . Experiment on it if you have proper knowledge because a user already lost his imei flashing it. And yes, just wait for day or two,LP will arrive soon to every varaints. Don't risk your device in over anxiety.
