Impossible at this point unless you can find a dump of the boot.img system.img recovery.img and a few more. You would then need to use sdk-manager to flash all the img files to the appropriate partition on the phone.

That bites, my contacts don't ring with the ringtones like before, web always closes when opening multiple windows and when viewing all current opened windows its threaded text and not an image of the page like before. Long pressing SEE FULL IMAGE doesn't open in new window it GOES BACK TO MAIN PAGE. Web ALWAYS opens in spanish -regardless of all the settings-.

Format your SD card, Factory Reset, and that should solve. Also remove root before reset. If that still does not solve post here and I'll get back to you asap.

Or take it into a cricket corp store.

Messed up gallery between all roms

I've been messing with my Captivate a lot for the past few weeks, rooted and flashed once I got sick of waiting for an update. I've tried most of the major roms out there and am having a great time learning about it all.
I have a problem and would appreciate some advice on the simplest way to solve it. Whenever I try to enter the image gallery, I get a black screen for a few seconds, then it vibrates a few times and kicks back to the home screen and gives me a failure notification. It does this regardless of what rom I'm running so I'm assuming it has something to do with the file structure on the card? If I data reset, will this fix it?
I looked around but didn't see an apparent answer for this specific issue. Thanks
Try this, download sgs tools from market. Goto uodate stock apps select gallery

Hmmm, I downloaded it and it doesn't seem to do that much. I don't see any options like that for sure. What is that program supposed to do?
After I posted I realized the app I referenced is not on the market.
Have you tried deleting app data
settings, applications, manage, all, gallery, delete data

wow, thanks! That did it. I just upgraded the stock app and it's fine now. This app looks really useful, what are some of its other uses?
Secret codes gets you into a bunch of useful things
like lbs test mode for gps
the updated gallery you installed is also supposed to help battery somehow.
I do not use it all too much though, but I keep it around

Before you search for a new camera app have you cleared out your camera cache and tried the camera again?
Do the following:
Phone menu button > Settings > Applications > Manage applications > All
Scroll to Camera (or whatever the name of the camera app you're using) and click on it
Click on the "Clear cache" button and since you said you haven't done much with it, if you want, click on the "Clear data" though clearing data shouldn't be necessary at this point.
Its tha stock camera app that option was not there
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I897 using XDA App
You mean it was greyed out? All apps will have the same options so it'll be there, just probably not available which is also rather odd, imo. When you look at it in the "All" list, what number do you see under the Camera listing? While you're at it, what number do you see under "Camera Firmware"?
Sent using XDA app on a modified ROM
I cant get to it. I tryed the firm ware up grade and it wouldent do cause it force closes. Idk what to do wish i could find the stock files for it and copy over them and see if that would work...

Beginner questions

Sorry in advance if I'm in the wrong area of our forum, I'm still learning as I go. I got a few questions that I'm sure ill get smashed for asking. Before I close Browser, is there anyway to delete the Download History all at one time (like 1.6 did) instead of long pressing, delete, confirm, each individual download? (While in browser, i'd press Menu then Downloads, then menu again would give the options Clear Downloads, Cancel Downloads. But not anymore, now its only Cancel Downloads. So now i have to delete one by one)
Next question, when using the stock File Browser to move files around, and got like 600-700 files in a folder and wana select a file like "w or z???????123.jpg" or any file towards the bottom of the list, is there any way to scroll up/down faster than sliding my finger 50-60 times to get to it?
Last question, is there any way to use my mp3's as Contact Ringtones like before the update? I can assign any 1 of my mp3's for phone ringtone but I have no option to assign a mp3 to a Contact like before the update. Phone ain't rooted or whatever that is, doesn't have those apps things. Again, sorry if I'm in the wrong area or aint going about this the right way. If I am, point me in the right direction incase I get anymore "beginner" questions.

Go to contact you want to add ringtone to > menu > options then set the ringtone.
I don't know about your other questions.

Instead of being a douche, try bumping your thread every week or so. Might achieve more results...
Q regarding browser: No. You need to clear your cache and history from the settings menu. Dolphin Browser has the option upon exit to clear history/cache.
File browser Q: No again. Download a different file browser that has better scrolling support. I don't know of one personally, so you'll have to research.
I can't figure out how to delete all the bookmarks in the web browser at one time. One by one sometimes takes a while. Any good news for me? Thanks...

Unable to set browser homepage

It keeps starting up with google.com even if it's set to another page under setting. I already shut off all location based features (GPS, etc), but not sure if this relates.
Is there any fix on this or it's a common bug?
Set home page then shut down phone, then restart phone, it should load now.

Tried already. Actually, in the settings, it displays the url as the one I set as a homepage, but even that it will still load google.com when the browser is launched.
Everytime when going back to the browser, it will load a new window and go to google.com
Is there a file in the system's directory that can be deleted to clear the cache? Not sure if this is possible if the phone is not root.
Try clearing cache, history, etc. in the browser settings, then remove the battery, install battery and see if that works.

Still no help, already tried the following:
Cleared all cache, set browser to factory setting, removed battery, removed SD card. Rebooted still loading google.com
Any other method besides going for the last step which is a hard reset? If there is a file in the browser's system directory that can be deleted to reset the preferences.
Are you typing in a valid url, if not it goes straight to Google, just a thought.
Download Dolphin Browser from the market, see if it works ok from that browser. It sets your homepage correctly. I had the same problem as you with the stock browser, but my instructions worked fine for me.

I tried firefox, opera mobile, dolphin all started up with google.com (same as the stock browser), even I set it with another "valid" url, they all ignored it.
I guess there is not a choice but a hard reset.
And of course the url is valid, it's a major one, which I have to enter manually each time because the browser ignores it.
Does anyone have an idea if this has to do with the location setting for GPS?

Disappearing Apps!

This is ridiculous man. I've had 3 moto phones now and have never seen it like this! Every reboot I lose at least 5. The XDA app is cursed on this phone, not to mention others.
Before you ask, I didn't transfer anything to the media area.
This is silly, and needs to get sorted out soon.

You want to know how bad it was the last time my phone was rebooted? (which was from a battery pull due to the XDA app freezing up the phone) - I had 5 1/2 pages of apps before - now I have 4 1/2.
This is wild...
Just got the bionic
And the same thing has happened to me
Kinda annoying

Ok... I won't ask if you transfered anything to the media area.
What I will ask is if you transfered your file which are in the media area back to the phone.
Some apps will install to the media area by default. You need to move them to the phone in manage apps.
Go to manage apps and select the media area tab. Make sure you go down the line and ensure there are no checks in any boxes.
If you have any, move those apps to phone if you don't want them top disappear.

Not so fast
I just followed the recommendation to the T. And when I attempt to uncheck the box, I get a screen that allows me to move the app back to the phone.
So I next tried to move the app back to the phone, but when I do, I get a popup that states: "FAILED TO MOVE APPLICATION". Repeated tries yield the same results.
The QC on this phone is rubbish.
+1 ... I usually lose XDA, Netflix, and Madden 12. Madden 12 won't even show up in the market for me either although I have paid for it.
If the app you're trying to movve is already missing try re-installing it from the market before you move it to keep your data.
The apps which disapeared all start with "COM." And will have to be re-installed before you can move them.

When I download apps from Android Market, the Bionic occasionally (rarely) throws an insufficient storage message just prior to installation, despite have >2GB of application storage available. The downloaded file just disappears after that.
If I had to guess, when my apps disappear, they do so during automatic updates.
If you get that error, most likely it was trying to save an app to your media area.
Re-download and install the app.
Once install is complete, send the app back to phone asap. Get it out of the media area.

UN mounting and re mounting the internal storage works. So does restarting the launcher after the initial boot. You can use a task manager to kill the home process... When it restarts all my apps re appear
Weak we have to go through all that trouble... But it is better than no fix at all.
Losing apps is not Bionic specific
Dear All:
My lg revolution does the same thing, when I reboot phone not all the apps load. It seems to be software related aka Android glitches. The apps I have installed to the external SD card are the ones that are sometimes lost. Internal memory apps never get lost. BTW my wife's Fascinate the same thing.

What class SD card are you using? Try a slower class card. It also might be the brand is not compatible.
Your SD card is the problem.

I had this problem as well, and after doing a bit of searching around, this is what I came up with. This is apparently a problem plaguing the Bionic right now, and will hopefully be fixed with the soon to come OTA update. When you download apps, go to settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Media Area, and uncheck the apps that you want the phone to not delete, or if it's a new app you just downloaded, make sure it ISN'T checked. In a sense, sometimes the phone will save apps to the SD card (when the box is checked) automatically besides the standard internal memory, therefore when the phone reboots, it might not read the apps in your SD memory very well. So until the OTA udpate comes through, just double check in this area that all apps are unchecked (unless it's Backbreaker, or something). For instance, my DroidForums application kept uninstalling itself, and after checking the Media Area, I noticed that the box beside the name was "checked." After unchecking, it is no longer removing itself.
