Print app thru usb - Captivate Themes and Apps

Looked and searched but can not find a way to use a printer with the usb cable. My printer has a usb port for printing pics from a camera anyone know a way to use it to print docs etc.. from phone
Thanks in advance

If you have a wireless network that your printer is hooked into try PrinterShare and you can print from your phone. I use it and it works very nicely.

That USB port on the printer is designed for digital camera and card reader hookups and is Windows or Mac based. It probably will not be able to read the Android file system on your phone. Not natively, anyway.

Help with bluetooth printing

I have an AT&T Tilt and a Canon iP90v printer. I can print to the printer fine using the USB cable but when I try to print via bluetooth it doesn't work properly. If I print a few words it works. If I print a paragraph it comes out with jargled text and the printer freezes after. Printing pictures doesn't work either unless connected USB. Almost sounds like a buffer problem. Anyone know a fix?

Print from Galaxy tablet to Wireless/bluetooth printer

Hey all-
Trying to see if this is feasible. If I set up my tablet to be a wireless AP, can I then connect a wireless printer to it and print directly (without use of having a home network ie..no router)?
So essentially have only tablet w/ 3G connection and use a wireless AP program to make it a hotspot. Connect the wireless printer to the AP and then print. Will I need a program like PrintShare too?
That would be interesting
anyone?

Dunno what you guy's try to achieve , but if you have a wireless printer check the drivers from the manufacturer. I popped over to Brother and got in no time my printer (DCP585CW if you must know) up and printing away ....

Printing from I9000 on local network?!

Hi there,
trying to get some documents printed on my Brother printer hooked on USB port of my router (FritzBox 7170), but to no avail.
With PrintShare I can see the printer through my desktop but I was hoping that there would be a way to print directly to the printer and
am not very keen on paying $13 for a solution which is not optimal (dekstop must be on to print).
Thanks for any help/suggestions/answers (even negative)

Thanks for your suggestion. None of these apps is able to find my printer on the local Intranet (Brother Printer DCP 7030 is hooked on USB port of the router) and for instance with Brother App one can see only WiFi capable printers in Intranet.
PrintMobile finds other computers in the Intranet which have printer connection and uses this to send the printout to these computers which forward the printout to the printer.
I guess German friends here could help me the most because me WiFi Router is FritzBox 7170, commonly used in Germany.
Thanks for any help/suggestions.

[Q] Is there usb tethering available?

I recently got a lumia 822 and would like to use it as a USB connected http proxy. I don't want a full network connection or wifi based solution as I need to keep my computer connected to the existing network but would like to be able to tell Firefox to connect to the Internet via a proxy so web traffic if passed through the phone thus avoiding the internal web monitoring.
I do this via proxoid on my android phone and it works perfect. If there a comparable solution for windows phone 8?
Thanks
The only solution available is TetherX. Its available in the Windows Phone Store. It works via WiFi that's hosted from a laptop and only WebPages work. The only device at this time that supports USB tethering is the Samsung ATIV, using Diagnosis.

That's... not really USB tethering in the usual sense at all (which does exist, at least for the Samsung WP8 phones) but it might be possible. I don't know if anybody has written a proxy server app for the phone yet, but it's a pretty clever thing to do, now that I think about it. The SDK should support it; we can do server sockets just fine. Doing it over USB would be tricky - the phone can do Ethernet over USB, but it's not part of the official SDK - but it might be possible. Setting it up as a WiFi proxy (with some security, ideally...) shouldn't be too hard.

Yeah, calling it a tether is not exactly right but I wasn't really sure what to call it. The issue with having it as a wifi spot is that it would be visible. The real reason I was looking for something like this is work has pretty draconian monitoring software. I haven't gotten the phone yet but once I do I may try to look into how the computer sees it when plugged into USB. If the phone can be exposed as an ip (127.0.0.1) via USB then it would seem possible to write an app to open a port and pass the traffic back and forth.
Thank you though.

First, I don't have the phone yet so all of these ideas are just wild speculation but at quick glance the program ipoverusbenum may help in a USB proxy solution. without a way to do this, I'm stuck with my old android device.

Help Printing?

Anyone know why my phone cant find the wifi printers at my work using the normal system? It usually lets me try to load a Xerox plug in but even when I use that the Xerox plug in cant find the printer. The only way I can print anything is if I use a third party printer app which finds my printer right away, and use a generic driver but even then its only black and white. Printer is a Xerox 6505DN, Thanks
