Go market download named tango app then u can make video call but the friends must have same app installed in the phone.

i want to dail video call with wcdma ...not a software support

1. Native video calling is going to be part of the 2.3 update, which should be due soonish (I have heard end of April, but that is by no means confirmed or official).
2. Root is being worked on, but it is gonna take a new exploit, so it isn't simple one

1. HTC(taiwan) tell me ,2.3 update will come in the July
2.i want to join

Don't trust HTC update schedule, they have let me down too many times on the timing. However I hope they release it around that period.
The rooting process currently doesn't need any more persons, like said in the rooting topic: scotty2 and alike are working on it. We got the best persons we could get already working on this one.
So appreciating it but not needed, just wait for it

The HTC update 2.3 has come. But a bad news is always coming with a good one,htc has fixed the bug that we can used to root temporally.

The 2.3 still cannot video call.

??? Gingerbreak?

So how do we make video calling?

Nope
Not possible in 2.3.3 neither native video call nor Temp root.... ( Tried and Tested )...
Temp rooting has been disabled in 2.3.3 even using adb wont help.

Also I'd like to know whether I can install any of the custom roms like pauls modaco r2.
I dont mind using a prebaked ROM.
Is it possible to go to the I9000XWJFF or the I9000XWJG1 or will I have to stay on the I9000DDJF3?
Also on [htt p://samsung-firmware. webs. com /WEBPROTECT-samsungi9000.htm] samsung roms, there is no I9000DDJF3 ROM. So I don't think I can go back to I9000DDJF3 if I muck up anywhere.

Hey!
You don't need any Dutch FW or anything. Just follow instructions given here and you're sorted.
You can upgrade to any firmware you want. Our (I'm from India too) stock firmware isn't available unfortunately. Personally, I'd go with JG5. Totally loving the firmware! Though you can flash to Paul's r2. You'll have to flash JG1 first and use the update over that. Also, you'd be automatically rooted if you flashed the r2.
It's pretty difficult to brick your phone honestly. If a flash doesn't work out right you can almost always just enter the download mode and re-flash. I've had issues myself, but nothing to fret about really.

Follow this tutorial! it will work for your firmware and software!

I'm an Indian user too (Bangalore). Bought my SGS almost 2 weeks ago. Was VERY annoyed with the stock firmware (DDJF3). The black-outs really got on my nerve. Will you not be irritated if your 30k phone hangs up on you for several seconds (to open the dialer app so you can type the number down) right when the pretty girl you're talking to offers to give you her phone number, and you have to ask her to wait 5 seconds to write it down?! Of course, the black-outs aren't there all the time. Usually only when you use the phone after a long gap (at least in my case). But it's still VERY annoying. That's NOT what I paid 30k for!
So yeah, finally flashed to JG5 a few days ago. Very happy with it. Although I can still see the black screens, it's always for ~1 second max and it only happens with some apps. Dialer and Contacts don't lag at all anymore. I really think you're gonna love your phone even more if you upgrade your firmware to JG5
Use mimocans lagfix from the sticky if you have a micro sd and way the lag gone.

Thanks everyone again.
I am also from India (Delhi), and currently running rooted JG5 firmware with the sdcard lag fix
I am Hyderabad & i am on jg5 rooted with sd lag fix. Great phone now.
Only thing i am missing after sd card fix is the default ringtones & notifications. Othrwise loving it.
I have recovered from a bricked state about 10 days ago so follow the steps correctly.

Hey guys got my galaxy s from mumbai (irla, andheri). Using from past 2 weeks and this phone rocks.
Guys dont go with jg5, iam on jm2 and it rocks. Rooted with update.zip method and used root explorer to remove unwanted apps and media. This baby rocks. Loving the built in task manager and asphalt 5 is cool.
I have tried samset custom rom when i was on jg5 but i didnt get any performance boost. Iam really happy with the jm2 and waiting for the promised froyo update in the month of august or september.

Hi Abhay,
It is I9000XWJG5. You can download it here. Use the 512 pit which can be found here. I used all 3 files to flash (PDA = CODE, PHONE = MODEM, CSC = CSC). I did it with the re-partition option enabled. I'm using Airtel too, and before flashing the new firmware, I used an app called "APN Backup & Restore" which can be found on the Market to backup my APN settings. Then after flashing JG5, install the same app again and restore the settings. No issues regarding connectivity after that .
Also, I've seen many people report lag in JM2, so I'm still on JG5 and will probably use the same until the next official firmware release. It's just stable and works the way one would expect it to.
BTW, a simple but a very effective tip - once you open the Phone app or the Contacts app, don't use the back button to close it. Use the Home button. I've found that it opens in an instant the next time you use it if you follow this. Same applies for all apps (like Messaging, Music Player etc.).
Good luck! Let us know how it goes

I am due to buy my i9000 this weekend - hxxp://bit.ly/why-i9000

I bought a Galaxy S last saturday. I tried the JP1 and JP2 Froyo builds but flashed back to JM2 as it was more stabler.

How much you paid for the device? best I could get was INR 27,500 in New Delhi
28K in Bangalore.
Sorry, this might seem offtopic - Chroma Retail chain users can get an additional discount from hxxp://bit.ly/b3XzIH
I bought my SGS 2 weeks back and OMFG it rocks. I can usually be found rocking it in the office elevator and when people ask about it I act all annoyed
Anyway, I rooted the phone and have taken a Titanium backup. I plan to flash JG5 and do the lagfix, but will Titanium restor ALL my apps and settings? I have spent of a lot of time customizing this baby (I would highly recommend the paid version of LauncherPro Plus) and don't want to lose all that hard work.
Also, once I apply the lagfix, will it be a problem flashing future FW's?
Thanks!
EDIT: Bought it from Mumbai for 28K
EDIT2: Is it possible to partition my sd card from within my phone? My linux does not recognize my laptop's card reader and I don't know of any way in Windows7
Yes. It is possible to partition without resorting to Computer. Search the internet for 'sdparted'. But that script will not help you create EXT3/EXT4. Works only with EXT2 and FAT32 etc. I guess it may support EXT3/4 partition resize though.

Well first advice is to read read read these forums, lots of information.
Your phone has a quite old version of android so updating that would be a good start. Froyo 2.2.1 is the latest official which should be available in Kies for you. Gingerbread 2.3.3 is expected to be officially released for the SGS within the next 2 weeks. You can also flash custom ROMs and newer ROMs then Kies offers you yourself, but without 3-button recovery thats tricky. Atleast make/buy and test a recovery JIG before going there.
Then maybe slap on a theme of your liking and get some good apps (dont be afraid to pay a few bucks for good apps either)
Being bored of phone usually means youre not doing anything interesting or fun with it a phone in itself is only so exciting

well, there's your problem
I don't know how much you already know but I advise you to read as much stickies and rom threads as you can. After that you will probably come to the conclusion that you want to install a custom ROM. Do so and your life will change forever
If you need any help, don't hesitate to consult the search function (or ask here^^)
Have a look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091
This is the place to start.
After you have read everything there, this would be some steps to follow:
1.Install ADB on your computer
2.Download Odin 1.7
3.Repair your 3-button recovery/download problem with Richtofen's guide (after this you can do whaterver u want with your phone, as long as you stay away from firmwares with bootloaders included)
4.Flash a 2.2.1 or 2.3.3 firmware using Odin (i recommend one of the deodexed firmwares from Ramad's thread)
5.Apply what ever theme you want
Maybe this instruction seem a little hard to understand now but after you've finished reading the wiki from the link i've posted, it will be more clearer.
thanks for all the replies I will start reading about what you guys have posted in the morning iam on my mobile now and it is late please stay in touch with me I will be replying activly and frequently thx again ! Being afraid in starting is normal .... but the golden rule is to read and understand several times what procedure u have to follow...and second imp thing is read n follow instructions provided in specific post.
As different rom needs different technique and different procedure.
Another thing is search youtube for videos on how to's.

Here is a link to custom rom MIUI 2.3.3. (I am not telling u to install it on ur device this is just for reference n learning purpose). HTC Salsa Facebook "Like" Problem on Frind Stream

When i see a new post from facebook on my htc salsa's social widget on the desktop on the phone (new posts and time together at the bottom of desktop in the pghone) iget "Like Cannot Set" error message...
I try to open same post in firend stream (directly open it from applications) but nothing was changed...
I click all of the post and a menu open and i click "Like" and then my salsa give me an error message "Like Cannot Set"...
On the other hand if i try "Like" on the same post from facebook's offical app it is working successfully...
I get last update from htc for my phone with OTA but the problem still same...
How can i resolve that???...
Thanks...
hello newbie and welcome to the salsa forums!
im not totally getting what you mean......which ota update did you get or have you got? being as you havent fully filled out your profile on the right its hard to know your area.
i ask this as on 2.3.3 that problem never existed, well not to me anyway lol.
are you running 2.3.1/2.3.3 or 2.3.5?
as each new ota update has newer files/apps installed so before we can try and help resolve, plz find us this info.
to find this, goto setting, about phone. also while your there, can you get us the other info, ie software version etc.
also are you rooted? if you dont know what it means then thats a no lol..
please post this up so we can move forward
Dear BigBearEvo;

getting back to unrooted is easy and you wont find anything about it lol.
Basically if for some reason you didnt like your rooted phone....god forbid why lol, you can reinstall the RUU that is stock wth your handset. it will wipe your recovery off and revert you back to standard.
Roms available are
Iconic (based on stock but much much faster/better)
Iconic S (various Launchers available to play with)
See this post > Iconic & Iconic S
Instructions are all around these boards on how to do things.....i have do a few one2one instructions over gtalk and achieved root/recovery/rom all in an hr!
Dear BigBearEvo;
Sorry for my newbie questions and thnx a lot to you cause u reply all of them detailed...
How can i install RUU if i want to my salsa to s-on and unrooted again?
And can what is the newest version of android that can i use on that phone newer than 2.3.3 i hope i cant use ice cream sandwich 4.0 on that phone, am i right?
Thanks in advance...
You reinstall the stock ruu via HTC, I have the stock 2.3.3 ruu online
So at anytime its easy. You just plug phone to PC and run setup. Easy as that lol.
Sent from my HTC Salsa C510e using Tapatalk

There is a thread for the international version but what you need to do is get an apk that changes your "custom" status to "official" then you will be able check for updates. I do believe this thread will get you started. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2383484
If you have deleted any apks then it may mess up any updates you take. Or go to sammobile and look for 4.4 firmware for your phone and use Kies to install.
The 9005 can receive it's latest update thru kies, or by going into the settings menu, tap general tab, and scroll down to about device, then system update.
I have only change the md5 file with kies not the rom....I wanted to make the phone rooted not to change the official rom...can I correct this problem with my updates without change the official rom from my phone??? Or is there any app to do that???

I am not sure I understand what you are trying to do.
Are you trying to gain root?
Are you trying to upgrade your firmware on your phone?
Are you trying to change something else on your phone?

I have rooted my phone but I want also to install the 4.4 android version...but when I try to search for software update the phone tells me that because I have done changes to the phone(root procedure) I can't search for any new software updates...I have seen a video from youtube.com that I can install a new Android version without change my phone(root or no root there isn't a difference)I ask if I can do that...and where I can find this kit kat version to download it....

I see.
The other reply that I made with the link in it. Follow that link and install what it tells you to install.
After you install it you can make you phone show an "official" status which will allow you to check for updates.
I do not know where the guy in the YouTube video got his firmware.
There is firmware available for the SM-9005 at www.sammobile.com but they seem to be country and carrier specific, I do not know as I do not have that phone.
You may be better off getting instructions in this section of XDA http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-3?nocache=1&z=7992070960968063
Good luck and be careful not to brick your phone.

You will probably lose root. It will not reset Knox to 0×0.

Sir I think you're looking for opinions on what to do and that's not what xda is here for. You're not even in the right sub forum for your device. We can talk forever about the pros and cons of custom roms over official releases. If you're worried one bit about knox counter, then do the official release. If you're comfortable with modifying your device and you can follow directions, I recommend you focus all your attention to this sub forum for your device here! The omegadroid link you attached can be found here on xda! I highly suggest you read through the 3000+ posts that users like you made. That might make up your mind for you.
