yes just hides the icon, gps works great, just used it to get to my fridge in the dark! Epic.
As far as the Vm icon its tied in with your all messages apk as soon as you start seeing Aosp rom you should be fine its all this sense stuff that is daisy chained together

You can go to the nexus one/droid forums and download the stock rom and take the png's out of the framework-res.apk. If you post the framework-res.apk or the system dump then I can do it for you.

thanks ill try it right now! ok everything looks freakin awesome .. no force closes! although i do have one minor gripe - I'm at 98 percent battery and my battery icon shows im at like 80- also the time is in white font which is kind of hard to read. Is there a fix to both of these issues? Also one last thing - is there a way i can change my gingerbread lockscreen to the froyo android one? Thanks again .. will definetely donate if u have paypal
The clock color is a quick status_bar.xml edit. The battery icons, I looked through the zip, are exactly right. Looks like the first few are a bit off. Would have to edit the .png's to make it look different.
Posted 100%, 98% and 80% for comparison.

Try the attached framework out. I fixed the lockscreen (I think. i didn't check it.) and the battery. Also try this twframework out. It has the big S in the background. I think I can to do time though. I am not experienced in smali edits. If you can find a JPY theme though that has a black clock though you can use the services.jar from that.
Don't worry about donations. My pleasure to help you.

good to know. i wounder why its in the OTA if they never intend to use it. :/

[MOD] EI22 odexed Circular 1% Battery mod with CRT OFF (it's back)

This mod is meant for people like me, who generally like the stability of the stock rom, but want a better battery meter and the CRT off animation. It may break custom roms and will not work on de-odexed roms.
I just made my first mod. I used UOT kitchen, which is a really cool website to cookup minor mods for most roms. You folks probably knew about it forever, I just discovered it. All hail the creators of this website!
http://uot.dakra.lt/
Anyway, this mod was based off of the framework and system file extracted from my phone which is running:
Stock EI22, odexed with mkasick's kernel and CRT Off Mod Custom and non EI22 roms may not like this mod.
It also includes the CRT-OFF mod that was posted by Tortel1210 (I had that installed when I did the mod.)
I don't know if the kernel version will matter or if it works on any other roms, all I know is it works on my phone.
Flash it using CWM 3.x, I strongly suggest making a backup in CWM (nandroid) before flashing this, just because it works on my phone doesn't mean that it won't cause your phone to burst into flames

Would you mind sharing a little bit of how you made this mod with UOT? I tried last night to do some customization using it, but it didn't quite work. The only thing that changed was my font ...
I uploaded my framework-res.apk, twframework-res.apk, and systemUI.apk files, but maybe I selected some of the wrong options? Did you have to do anything in particular to get it to work?
Thanks for you help!

You're welcome.
Here's how I made this mod. Your steps will be different depending on the mod you do.
Go To: http://uot.dakra.lt, click on Kitchen. Click on Battery (or whatever mod you are doing), select Use this mod. This brings up a list of possible styles and options. Pick what you want. Click "Generate Preview" if you want to see what it will look like. Continue along with Popup, Lockscreen, or any other options you want to modify. You only have to go into the options you actually want to use.
Click on File Upload. Under update-binary, Select "Type Galaxy"
Where it says "Select your rom from kitchen's list, or upload your own files" Select System files.
Below you will see boxes to upload your framework , twframework-res and SystemUI files.
Go to Summay screen. Click "Submit Work to kitchen"
Let's see, how does it go now....
????
Profit.
Anyway, that's the best I can remember. There is a howto section on the UOT page, and the xda thread for it is at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=990829
I take no credit for this great tool. I'm barely smart enough to use it, let alone write something like that. The sigs at the bottom of the website are:
Qliratu, Mendozinas & Avreen.
These folks are geniuses.

OK, for those of you who have installed this mod, I'm sorry. For some reason it breaks the TW launcher. (I don't use it so I never tested it. Told you I was a noob).
DO NOT select TW launcher as the default launcher, or you will be stuck on an infinite loop of FCs.
If I figure out how to make one that works I'll post it. Otherwise, the only way to get TWLauncher to work again is to restore the original framework and systemUI files, which I don't have.

thats unfortunate, just a bug in the kitchen or something? I saw this thread and made a similar battery mod with the kitchen. Chose the one with the smoother looking blue circle.
Anyway, touchwiz is still working for me, no problems.
Hmm, I might try some odexed themes that way.

EI22, rooted, CWM 4 if it makes a difference (I know the OP says 3.x)

All that I have tested this on is CWM3 purple and stock rooted EI22.
The kitchen's website says:
"Flash your downloaded zip in recovery.
Zips are compatible with Clockworkmod 3"
Maybe clearing caches and dalvik will help?
I don't know how using CWM 4 will affect the results, perhaps that's be why it didn't work for you. Hopefully you have a nandroid backup.

I tried, no dice. Thanks either way
You made my day!
I'm gonna use this framework as a base for an odexed theme. So I can have the CRT off mod.

[Eclipse 2.2][CoreDroid Theme Port]

Thanks to Gunnermike for the all the help and server space!
Whats themed?
Framework-res.apk - ForeverSupra [Added fly in animations.]
SystemUI.apk - ForeverSupra [Thanks to Gunner for the new toggles.]

Simply boot into recovery and flash the zip, it automatically mounts your system and wipes dalvik cache.

Thanks for the fix. Would you mind clarifying what procedure to take to get stock font? Are you supposed to flash both files (In that case, I understand the order to flash them) or only the stockfont.zip?
I really like this theme because it's based in blacks and blues, yet utilizes colors to help make different functions more distinguishable and recognizable. I think this makes it both very appealing to the eye, and very functional. I was using it on my Droid Charge a while back. Thanks so much for your hardwork.

Google talk is black on black text I use it a lot otherwise it wouldn't be an issue. Any way to fix it? Otherwise great theme!

Google talk works fine for me. Did you apply this theme over another theme? That might be your problem. Try to uninstall Google talk and reinstall it.
I just remembered I installed it over titanium. Titanium was the black on black. I cleared cache and dalvik. I thought that would be good. I guess it carried over. I'll reinstall eclipse 2.2. And try and flash again. Thanks
Edit: Yup that did the trick, thanks again.

No problem .
why use such horrible font...
A question:
I use bootstrap to get into the CWM recovery, the version of CWM it displays is "v4.0.1.5", and the theme .zip package installs without problem, but for the stock font, it just says failed.

Because thats how I like my theme? Thats weird, it flashes fine with Safetrap.
Edit: I have it working for Bootstrap now! Enjoy using the ugly stock font .
Many thanks, i copied the stock fonts to the device via "adb shell",
btw, i found that after safestrap installation, "adb devices" will always show the device as "offline", i tried reinstall driver, reboot computer, restart phone, none worked.
safestrap is better than bootstrap, but except this fatal shortcoming......
i'm wondering if this is just my specific issue....
(dahh. typing on the 4.3 inch touch screen is killing me, too many typos to fix.)

How did you get it working in bootstrap? Did you change the file in the OP, or do I need to do something different when flashing in bootstrap?

I changed the binary script, is it not working? It should be working on both recovery's. You dont have to do anything different, just flash the file.
Love the icons. Well done

Great theme, but is there a chance or a theme that has a more useful nofication status bar. Majority of the status bar toggles i dont use. Would like to have a hotspot toggle and airplane toggle to replace the rotate and data toggle. Any modders can do this i will pay them
