Here new RUU for Vivo
http://www.filefactory.com/file/ca3...0802U_38.03.01.08_M_release_176683_signed.exe
Enjoy!

1.43. nice !
But I wont try it ! ARABE is not for me XD

Hi,
excuse me but are you sure that it will work fine on HTC Incredible S ? even if the phone is not rooted ?
I think that the Incredible S is protected (see in google : Root Incredible S signed)
and I can't risk my phone but I need to have the arabic language on my Incredible S

@sahbibenayed
This is probably an official (and HTC signed) ROM.. so you should be able to install it on your phone without any problem.
Still i take no responsibility in what happens to it!!

Thank you
Was waiting for an Arabic rom.

Should the phone be in any particular mode? I.e. bootloader or hboot for the ruu app to recognize it?

Use a goldcard if your phone is branded

Can anyone upload the rom.zip (mediafire would be best)?

Is the device required? or I can just run it and upload the file for you on mediafire?

Has anyone successfully got this to work? I must be doing something wrong because I'm getting the following error:
ERROR [131]: CUSTOMER ID ERROR
P.S. I just downloaded the .exe file, connected my Incredible S and opened the .exe file. Is this the correct way?

I thought the goldcard thing is for branded devices. Then again, I'm new to the Android scene. Is there a guide somewhere for RUU?

In fact it is, but it seems you need it when u try to install an RUU to a device from a different region

There are many I guess but there is not much to read about, just the same way you did it, connect the device and run the exe file

What android version has it?

Android v 2.2.1

Sorry to ask this noob question, but Incredible S is my first Android phone. Do updating to this RUU (Arabic enabled) will prevent or cause any issues when HTC release its stock Android 2.4 next month ?

I managed to gold card my phone. I set my usb connection to charge only with usb debugging on and tried to install the RUU but I got error 131 again. Did I missed something here ?
I repeated the whole process 2 times with no luck ...

He already answered your question.
Get an Eclair RUU from shipped-roms and run it.
You can find it here: http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buzz/
thanks , sorry becuase iam newbie
but which one i have to choose?
thanks.
You can choose "RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.37.405.1". Its the latest Eclair ROM.
U need root for this right?
For flashing a RUU, you dont need root. Just download the EXE, connect your device to your PC, and run it.

I think you can extract the files from the executable then and just flash them after a wipe. Not sure though.
you cannot unroot using a RUU in Linux.
for using a RUU you need windows xp

Does RUU not check the installed version? I thought RUU would just push the rom.zip and allow the update like any other rom flash with its update_script that checks if it is a valid update.

Sorry mate, I am really not aware of this, and, it will be best if you try it out. If it does need root, the process will likely fail, and, no harm will be done.

As you can see there are plenty of ways to do Rom and Kernel updates. If you are the type of person that wants to easily get the Stock ICS Rom, use the RUU. RUU stands for "Rom Update Utility" and all you need to do is download the RUU (it will be a zip file with 1 EXE inside), plug your phone into your computer, extract the EXE file and Run. Everything will be automatic.
If you unlocked your bootloader, make sure to relock it. Also, the RUU states to make sure you have at least 30% battery life, but I alway charge it up all the way before I perform any update.
I hope this helps a little.

Best way it do it if your on att is to keep bootloader locked and run the att ruu then youll have stock ics then unlock bootloader install a recovery and flash which ever Rom you want with the kernel that belongs with the Rom

Yes the att one would be fine I guess , bloat ware I guess don't bother me not sure even what it is ,
I can flash a new one after I've unlocked the boot loader and rooted ? If correct then just put the exe and run files on the sd as before ?
So the kernel has to match the Rom ....also if I load or flash a Rom do I need to flash the kernel too ?
I just read that again run is not a file it is what you do with exe right ?
Unzip the exe file to desktop or somewhere accessible, make sure phone has usb debugging enabled, also need to have htc sync installed....plug in phone to computer via usb cable...execute the ruu...after this has flashed the phone and rebooted/loaded etc....then if you choose to unlock the bootloader go to htcdev website, register and follow the instructions to unlock your bootloader. Once the bootloader is unlocked then you have to decide what rom you would like to use and thats about it....

Don't select bootloader when you get to the white screen just select fastboot and connect your phone to USB and it should read in red USB fastboot.

You'll need to save the files on your PC (desktop) connect to adb and open up command prompt to flash the recovery and boot.img.
Where are the ICS roms at that work on AT&T Vivid? I couldnt find any.

Found it!!!
there has been an RUU for sprint!
-Download Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_1.29.651.7_RUU.zip
-extract zip to a folder on your pc
-boot into bootloader (various ways)
-using fastboot, type this cmd: fastboot oem lock this will relock the bootloader
-from pc, run setup.exe from the extracted folder. it will run the RUU utility & flash back to stock

Second, try downloading an Incredible S RUU from htcdev.com or somewhere. I think you might need the Asia WWE one.
