Has anyone tried this yet? Been using since last night and I have to say... wow. It's what the android browser should've been. Opera 10 was smooth, but this is even better with flash support now. Runs buttery smooth (iPhone like... smoother than any other android browser) even when I'm underclocked to 800mhz =)

Yes, better than the laggy stock browser, more smooth and support flash, for me the better mobile browser with safari.

you know yes....! Opera - need to be original browser in Nexus S

I'm liking it a lot more.

Tried it and uninstalled within half an hour, word-breaking for Thai characters looks terrible. Super lag compared to Dolphin Mini & stock browser...

I dont seem to get any reactions to anything I touch on webpages:S?

Wait reboot and fix permissions sorted it...BEST BROWSER TO DATE! I use the psx scene site as a benchmark which one dolphin and stock lags like a *****! On opera its perfect..very very smooth!

To enable desktop view:
opera:config>UserPref>Custom User>Agent-Agent>Type:Opera/9.80 (Linux; en) Presto/2.7.81 Version/11.00 >Scroll down the list untill you find the save icon (quite a way down the expanded user pref list) then restart and there you go

I have to agree. Opera 11 is awesome. (click for browser shootout)

dude is fantastic! !!!!

Thanks for this! I was wondering how to get the full engadget site to show. =)

I've just tried the V11 and ... WOW :O
Absolutely perfect, lighteningly fast, no checkerboards at all, no lag, etc... The fastest browser I've ever seen.
The best mobile browser ever!!
Thanks to Opera team for this fantastic work on Android.

that's true!!!! I hope Cyanogen gonna change original stock laggy browser, for beautiful and performance Opera 11.

I love this browser as well, but some of the pages don't look like they should. Like m.db.no and mobil.aftenposten.no. (these pages are in Norwegian, but you'll see what I'm talking about). Any tips? I would like the mobile version, not the desktop one.
Edit: the m.db.no seems to be working as it should now, but what I wrote still holds true for mobil.aftenposten.no.

I would love it if it didn't make a lot of websites look terrible. great speed and features but I can't stand how it renders google.com

It's the old-mobile version of Google. You have to change your user-agent to default Android browser or iPhone browser etc. to see proper mobile version of Google.

what should I put for the user agent in the opera:config to get the android user agent?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App

Ya that is quite nice. I've used previous versions and none of them were quite perfect but this might just do the trick. Its quite a nice piece of kit, if I'm honest. I use Bank of America and can't use their mobile site in my area or even load their full site on the standard browser for reasons unknown to God himself but this using the spoofing lets me do just that which makes it completely worth its weight in Gold.

The lack of a user-agent preference in the settings area is a big downside. The browser's fast, but that's a setting that should be easily accessible. Going to the config page address and what-not is a pain in the ass.

best web browser

Just wondering which web browser everyone thinks is the best. I used to use steel but have recently switched to dolfin browser I think steel might have been faster and the favorites were easier to access. Are there any good browsers I'm missing? What do you think the best is?
Opera Mini is the fastest to render pages, but has some quirks and uses a lot of memory. Still, if you're going to be doing a lot of surfing, it's worth it for the speed increase.
Dolphin browser is pretty good also, it alows tabs and multipoint
Sent from my htc_dream using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I've used three browsers so far: the default Donut browser, Dolphin, and the default Eclair browser. My favorite by far is the Eclair browser that comes with CyanogenMod.
EDIT: I also tried Opera Mini, and despite loving it on feature phones in the past, it's not the best smartphone browser

on the contrary(I know everyone is entitles to their opinion), but I have come to love opera mini beta 5..I am actually using it now and has been my daily browser for about a week now. It's really good with loading websites super quick and I also love the interface and the one touch zoom. of course, some pinch to zoom or some zoom buttons would be nice, but. It's really nothing to complain about. can't wait for the updates for it...and that's my two cents
I like stock HTC Eclair browser. It's totally lacking on features, but it just looks good. I'm a bit of a fanboy
As far as others, I used Dolphin for a time and liked it, just didn't like the look. But when Fennec is officially released (even in beta), heads will roll

Yes , it is
Tunny Browser RC, by the devs of Dolphin Browser... is aweseome.
All I can find is a R(ed) C(andy) theme for Dolphin...hardly the "best browser"...
Been using xScope this past week and find it miles better than the stock browser. Have made it my default. Excellent browser.
Skyfire....hehe
Pictures of Skyfire on g1:
skyfire is cool so far, of course it's still beta and missing a lot of the cool features that makes skyfire great on other platforms, but its not bad. i switch back and forth between skyfire and the default sense browser.

I have been using the XScope broswer for a while now and find it the best browser I have tried. I really like the way tabs work and it is also very fast.

[Q] Best Android Browser?

I know that everyone will have a personal opinion and preference (not to mention that this question has probably been done to death); but with the latest GB update/ROM, 2.2 roms and so forth...At this point in development, is the stock browser just as good/fast as 3rd party ones (specifically sykfire and opera mini).
I am updated to the 1/28 Gingerbread, and while the stock is ok, I still prefer Dolphin. I have a difficult time exiting out of stock (the back key just pages back, does not exit), and downloads don't always seem to complete in the stock browser for me. Just my 2 cents.
Yeah I figure it really depends on the user's needs/wants. I read this interesting review, (tried to post the link but not allowed yet :-( and it looks like skyfire is the best overall (supposedly plays flash on non-flash devices pretty well)
Miren is the best.
Skyfire for Flash video conversion support. Also a good system for tabs and a great browser overall.
LATE EDIT: I read the topic wrong, I thought it was like a poll... Umm, the stock is still nowhere near as good as Skyfire or Dolphin.
I use dolphins mini.
ive used xscope for quite a while and nothing else ever really feels right when i try it
I like miren as well.

I'm using Opera atm but I don't like that there is no pinch to zoom or text formatting when I zoom in. It's still much better than stock, maybe I'll check out dolphin or miren
I would say boat browser

Miren seems like a really good browser. I like it.
Was using Opera now Dolphin is my primary, however a bit frustrated with not being able to set my home page. They all run rather slow to open up and are sluggish on my phone. Web pages are a pain in the *** on all of them. Either too small or too big.

Opera Mobile
Now using Opera Mobile and I find it is very snappy. I tried Dolphin and it seemed a bit cumbersome. I will have to check out Miren.

Xscope is very good, especially the newest version as they worked out alot of bugs, it is a paid app tho. Try the different versions of dolphin browser they are really fast and customizable.

I liked the functions embedded in Skyfire, but on the aospCMod, it seemed to cause some FC and weird booting issues.
I use dolphin HD licensed and skyfire for flash yxplayer fc's on me in aospcmod
Best browsers for android
For me it is opera mini ucweb for more info

I’ve tried few and have to agree skyfire works best.

[Q] Chrome vs Opera

im just curious as to which browser you guys run and which ones you guys think run faster on past experiences. i use chrome as my daily driver but have been curious as to what might run faster. I would just download opera and try it but im at school and cannot run .exe files. thanks!

Firefox is the best.
Rapid.
Has Ad-Free.
Better than Chrome/Opera.
Of the two, I prefer Chrome. Opera has some nice features, but seems to get sluggish after a while (in my experience). Chrome is fast, lightweight, and has some nice extensions to customize to your liking. You should also consider the newest version of Firefox. I've been using that for a couple weeks and the speed improvement is nice.

+1 on firefox...
I'd really wanna know which browser will run well on a Pentium 4 PC with 512MB RAM. On Windows XP. So far FF is beating Chrome with a slight edge.
!!!
firefox the best!
I stay with Chrome.
Chrome all the way! I hate Firefox. Here's Lifehackers' browser speed test btw: Clicky<--
I don't like Firefox's new update and I tested it out, not for me. I prefer Chrome, it's simple and I just like simple.

For the longest time, I was a diehard Firefox user.
Since they updated to 4, that ish is laggy as hell for me. I couldn't stand it.
So now I'm using Chrome.
Much better, in my opinion!

It was awful!
Loading times for pages used to be really quick. Then, when I updated, it got pretty bad at times. I'd have to restart Firefox sometimes.
I'd never had that problem, and have really fast internet, so I didn't understand what it was.
No problems whatsoever on Chrome though!

I am a diehard fan of Chrome. Not only do I run it on my Acer Netbook, but on my CR-48. I love how no matter what machine I use it all syncs up automagically.

(app) Naked Browser

Have been running Unjust's CM11 version and I must say I think it's the best ROM I've ever used. Super smooth and quick. That being said the browser has quirks so I went about finding a replacement.
After trying all of them several times I tried "Naked Browser". It's ugly as sin and missing a few features, but man it's blazing fast. Very small footprint as well. Just thought I would throw it out there for some that it might help....(4.3 & 4.4 users especially).
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Can you give us a rundown of the others you tried and what maybe was your main pros & cons of them?
I've always thought chrome was nice but way to much memory hog for 4.2.x and up ROMs.
.
Well to be honest my main reasoning came down to 2 basic things. Number one being speed. In my limited use the Naked Browser is very basic and speedy. None of the others, even Opera Mini, seem as quick to me.
Number 2 reason is the way it looks on a smaller screened device. And by that I mean I hate, I hate, having to constantly pinch and zoom to get the pages "optimized" upon every click. Naked's pages come up in a manner that is already usable. And when you need to zoom you have the option of using zoom buttons...a la' the old Google Maps style. Much better for me personally.
And as a bonus the apps' footprint is under 200kb.
I haven't used it long personally. But so far I'm really liking it. Hope this helps!

Also...
I hate saying and using the term "outdated", as my Fassy has been an excellent device for me but technically that's what it is now. If it wasn't outdated and had more horsepower I would probably use the stock browser, Chrome, or Next Browser. I like them as well. But they don't play nice with a Fassy running 4.2+ in my experience.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I seem to get along just fine with chrome on my phone. It's a bit slow but it works
Quick update:
After using this browser some more I feel it has great potential. Have had a few glitchy moments depending on what I'm doing, and on certain webpages. I find myself using this browser as well as waffling back and forth to Opera Mini.
If you are ok with a feature rich browser and don't mind it being a little slow than these options probably won't serve you well. I however, hate lag or slowness of any kind. If you're like me give both these options a try. Naked is fast and occasionally glitchy. Opera Mini is nearly as fast, more polished, and has more features. Both stomp the stock browser running newer 4.2+ ROMs on the Fassy. Hope this helps some people. -Thanks

watching youtube problem
hi Thanks for this browser.
But i am facing a problem, when i watch a youtube video in fullscreen and try to exit fullscreen, the browser does not exit. the large video keeps playing in the background of the browser.
Kindly fix it or tell me how to do it.
One more thing, can you think of changing the name from 'Naked' to something else?

Quick tip if you feel Chrome is running choppy or laggy

One of my few frustrations with the tablet has been a laggy feel while browsing in Chrome. So after a bit of research, try this tweak and see if it feels faster for you:
1. In a new tab, surf to chrome://flags/#max-tiles-for-interest-area
2. Change value from "default" to "512"
3. Click button on bottom that says "relaunch now"
Enjoy!
I'm using the beta and is awesomely smooth

Tested the 10.5" at Bestbuy during the week-end and found Chrome was quite laggy. I installed the Beta (that i usually use on my phone), it was not really better. Scrolling on web sites like dpreview.com wasn't smooth at all.
I have to test again I guess. That prevented me from buying the tablet. For me web browsing experience has to be great a on new tablet.

You have to remember to close all the open apps on those display units at best buy, sometimes almost every app is open lol. The demo unit I tried everything lagged till I closed all those running apps.
That said, my unit at home is smooth on all fronts.
I have the 10" here at home, and that's what I'm experiencing on Chrome Beta, which is what I use.
I think my Nexus 5 has spoiled me.

The particular item: "#max-tiles-for-interest-area" will be highlighted at the very top of the page in yellow as soon as you enter the address. It's the only thing that will be highlighted. It will say: "Maximum tiles for interest area Mac, Windows, Linux, Chrome OS, Android". Change the option below it.
Thanks it did improve the browsing speed on chrome. I was a bit worried because of the lags. The browsing was faster on my sony tab z then on tab s.. not any more .
I have tried Chrome browser (with max-tiles-for-interest-area = 512) on several 10.5" and always find it quite laggy.
I have closed all apps, etc.
The scrolling on web sites with lot of pictures like dpreview , theverge.com, etc. is definitely not smooth. An iPad air for example is lot more fluid.
I like the 10.5" but not sure to buy it until I see a good web browsing demo on it.
I have found the Next Brower to be very good
