Rearth Ringke Case Review - Nexus S Accessories

I found out that Rearth made a case for the Nexus S and did some research by reading and watching reviews of the Evo and iPhone 4 versions. Mostly everyone gave it a thumbs up, so I gambled and bought one.
http://rearthusa.com/products-page/google1/nexus-s
The case costs $16.99. I bought the special deal pack which costs $20.99 and includes a screen protector and headphone jack plugs that they call Ringz.
First of all, the headphone plugs work fine. They do the job perfectly. Also, the screen protector is dry application, but doesn't cover the whole screen. It's similar to Martin Field's screen protector. It works fine though. I posted a picture of the top part with the case.
Now to the case. I only have 2 other cases to compare with which are the Amazer silicone case and "S" shaped TPU case (which I will refer to as S case). I'm just going to post my opinions of the pros and cons of this case. Remember, I've only had it for one day so far. Oh, the color I got is called kiwi.
Pros
The case is slim. Doesn't even feel bulky at all. The Amzer and S case adds a little bit of bulkiness that you can notice, while I barely noticed any on this case.
Easy to put on.
The USB slot, headphone jack, volume rockers, power button, camera lens, and speaker positions all fit perfectly.
Yes, the volume and power buttons are easy to press unlike the S case.
The case doesn't interfere with camera lens and flash when taking pictures unlike the Amzer case.
Not sticky. Slides in and out of my pocket fine unlike Amzer case.
Doesn't feel anything like the Amzer or S case. Has it's own type of texture and feels smooth (this one is purely my opinion).
A bunch of colors. I guess this is a pro.
Detailed. This case is detailed. They even have the little slot where you take off the battery cover at the top (I posted a picture).
Cons
Not like an Otterbox case. Of course.
May ruin the "sexiness" of the phone if you like it naked. They do have a black version though.
Price. This is objective to the user, but most of you might find that $17 for a silicone type of case is not worth it. I thought this too until I got it and played with it. I don't regret it.
I say silicone type of case because the Ringke performs in a similar way, but the material doesn't feel like silicone or TPU at all.
There are more pros then cons because I'm basically comparing it to the other 2 cases that I have. If I experience anything that I consider a con, I will add it here.
Neutral
Since I haven't used this case long enough, I'm not too sure if it's a dust magnet. The reviews I've read and watched said it barely attracted any dust at all. So far though from my one day of use, it barely attracted dust. I usually get dust around the screen with the other two cases, while I didn't with this one. I will have to get back to you on this one.
Other
As said before, it doesn't feel like silicone or TPU. It kind of has a small matte feel to it. Can't really describe it well. The closest thing it feels like is the matte part of the S case. Also softer than the S case. Haven't seen any other scratches than I had before so far.
Final Verdict?
For me, this will be my main case for now. It feels like it's part of the phone and with it on, it feels like a hard case. Maybe it's just me, but that's how it feels when I hold it in my hands.
You can Youtube ringke cases to get more opinions on it.
Here are the links to the pictures. I had more than what's allowed by xda so I posted it elsewhere. Three mirrors.

I believe Ploone (Pop case & Feather videos) is going to make a video of this case also since he told me he had one coming his way when I told him about this case. This is just an assumption. Also, kertesd said he will order one in his topic so he'll probably post his impressions on it also if he bought it.

Doesn't fit the i9023 version well. Pictures by noobhero.

Fun read, really liked the way you laid stuff out. You weren't assuming, I am getting the case in soon and will have a video for everyone else

Thanks for the review! Can't wait for my Rearth cases to arrive!

I tried looking through the screen protector thread but I can't find your picture with the case and SP. Is there some other SP thread that you posted in?

Interesting! Also the screen protector looks better than Clarivue's -- at least it has custom holes for speaker and camera.

Thanks. I rather read reviews in outline style than paragraphs which is why I did it this way. Looking forward to your video too. I'll post a link whenever you have it up on the first post.

My bad. The one picture I have doesn't show it too well, but it's similar to the Martin Fields one (not Clarivue, my bad).
Here's the link: http://hemorrdroids.net/martin-fields-nexus-s-screen-protector/
Very similar. Basically, the protector doesn't touch the edge of all four sides of the screen. The top and bottom sides are more noticeable than the left and right sides. Remember, the screen protector was probably made this way because of the contour display of the phone. My cheap ones were not sticking on the top or bottom parts of the screen.

Does it look like that on the picture? *Looks back* I guess it sort of does, probably because of the flash from the camera, but the screen protector from Rearth doesn't have any holes except for the head/ear speaker piece thing (forgot what it's called). FFC still looks fine though through the camera app.

Just received my case, and wanted to post some feedback. I had ordered the special deal (audio plugs, screen protector) in black color, which looks amazing on the Nexus S. Most of my feedback really just reaffirms the OP's review.
[Pros]
- amazing detail (The outer carvings as well as trim for the buttons are meticulously crafted. It really differentiates the case from all other options. )
- perfect fit
- little to no bulk (adds the right amount of weight, and thickness to make the phone much more enjoyable to hold and less likely to slip)
- very nice button feedback
- audio plugs add a nice color touch to the phone
[Cons]
- no cons regarding the case
- screen protector included in the package falls short on the top and bottom edges *most likely due to the contour design
Overall, best case I've seen which doesn't hinder the phone's aesthetics or risk scratching the phone (ex. hard cases). A few things I would like to see is possibly more designs with different textures on the backing. The plain matte texture is nice, but I feel that it may easily show signs of wear and tear, through scratches and scuffs, although the functionality isn't compromised. Adding slight texture may also add value to the appearance of the case. Well everyone, that's it. I could add pictures if someone requests. I went with the panda scheme, black case with white audio caps.

Do you know if they ship outside of the USA? I'm very tempted to get it...

Sure, and the shipping rates are very reasonable ($3.99 for First-Class Mail international shipping)

Thank you OP; great review. Now I want one. All that is stopping me is trying to pick which color.....once I get it, though, I will probably post a video review.

please be aware that the fitting on I9023 nexus s is not perfect.

Damn..just ordered mine..could you please tell a little more about the fit?maybe a picture? Thanks

At a glance, it seems to fit alright.
But upon close inspection, u'll find that there are linings on the inside of the cases that
Do not sit well into the grooves on the edge of the phone.
All the cut outs works fine, just the wrapping ain't perfect.

actually on the contrary, I feel the phone is much more slippery to hold with the case on. It's due to the material I guess.

Review: Rearth Ringke Case (Pictures Galore!!!)

Just got my Rearth Ringke case for the Nexus S.
Aqua Black in color which is transparent.
Background: I purchased the Best Buy Platinum Series Combo Case (rebranded Seidio Innocase Surface) when I first bought my Nexus S on release date Dec. 16, 2010.
Unfortunately because of the curvature of the Nexus S, this case isn't as high quality as Seidio's previous Innocases for other phones. I've stopped using it and only use the Sprint-Clip Holster along with other cases. Here is my post (just pictures) about the Platinum/Seidio case: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875231
In looking for other cases, I purchased a really cheap TPU style case on eBay, and have been using it. I'm ok with it, but there are some issues that I do not like (volume/power buttons are flush and hard to push/find).
Review: Received the Rearth Ringke case today for my Nexus s.
Packaging was great. Sturdy box, mailed from Louisiana. The actual packaging for the case is nice too.

I'm not sure if it's because of the transparent color/material, but it's very silicone like, and very squishy. The eBay TPU case I have was very hard.
It's easy to put the phone in the case, but because of how "squishy" it is, once you get the phone in, it is not perfecly in. You'll need to move it around and adjust the case and line up the camera/flash/speaker holes. My eBay TPU case, once I put the phone in, it fits perfectly in and no adjustments needed. I've only had this Ringke case today, so I will see how it lasts for the next few days and see if in the normal use of my phone if the case will move around and misalign.
So how does it feel? To me it feels pretty good. It's very thin and has some kind of texture in it. I've read others saying it's slippery and offers no grip. I disagree. There is a matte sort of feeling and it's not slippery at all.
You can see in some of the pictures, the Ringke logo is on top of the Samsung logo, visible in the transparent Black Ash colored case. This doesn't matter in the solid non transparent colors, but in this particular case, I would have prefered if they moved the Ringke logo up a bit as to not block the Samsung logo.
I noticed on the power button, there is a picture of a power icon. Nice touch but not sure if it's necessary since it's almost impossible to see. (The actual Nexus S does have a power icon on the power button, that's probably why they did it).
A huge plus with this case vs other TPU cases, the Power button/Volume control actually works! They stick out a bit and you can actually feel the buttons and press it with a nice feel and the buttons work!
I like the little indentation above the speaker hole, the raised edges around the camera hole, and the little notches above the FFC and Light Sensors. You can tell they did some design work on the case to make it a little different.
Also, the phone with the Ringke Case fits my Platinum Series Spring Clip Holster. That is a major plus.
All in all, this is a very nice case. Steps above cheap HK eBay cases. The price is line with similar style (non eBay) cases.

Very Happy with this case, good texture, very good fit. It protects enough for the everyday normal usage and very occasional drops (don't tell me you never drop things...). I got the black one.
I ordered a tougher one for when I do all my crazy cycling, climbing, travelling, running, hiking, etc... so it can safely take a few more higher&tougher impacts.

Can you tell me if the case can be bought in stores in the US?
My brother is currently in the US and I'd ask him to bring me one along ...
I have both ...both great case minimal bulk added and love the back finish doesn't collect sweat/.fingerprints
the plus on the Rearth Ringke is the buttons they seem to stick out so easier to find were the case on the right they dont.
And the cut outs are slightly better
But the case on the right has a glossy finish on the front and IMO looks better like the phone has no case on
Both are great cases TPU is much better than silicone cases that get sweaty and lose shape after a while

I had wanted a black, but settled for an aqua black just a couple weeks ago from their website. Seems all they have left are colors other than black:
http://www.rearthusa.com/Nexus-S-Nexus-S-4G_p_160.html
I was able to find one or two other retailers via Google Shopping, but their price was the best (with free shipping). I was impressed. It was basically next day from LA to CA (although YMMV).
Also, I wanted to add, I have a Casemate Pop, Seido Active X, and this case. The Ringke is my favorite out of all of them thus far.
As far as the feel of it is, I liken it to the feel of the Nexus One's Teflon exterior.
I just bought two of these for my girlfriend and myself (i9020T) and we're both very happy with it. Sticks well to the phone, not too heavy/bulky and looks good. My only gripe with it is that the Black is not really that black in person like it is in the promo pictures

Only thing thinner is the Incipio Feather case. But it's not going to offer the same degree of protection.

i wish they came with a clear case!. i bought a white nexus s, and would love to see the white beneath the case lol. the clear cases i've found look cheap and bulky. but i did find a really good case, i am rockin Proporta's Mizu Shell in charcoal. Has a great feel and fit to it but again, i wish it was clear, as it only comes in charcoal. anyone know a good clear and slim case?
Thanks for the review! Once I had found out OtterBox wasn't releasing one for the Nexus S I couldn't decide between this and the Ultra Silke. I Ordered the Rearth one after reading this review. Only wish they had Black in stock, and quicker shipping to Canada..
Does this case make it hard for you to access the phone in your pockets? I bought a silicone one it was really hard to put it in and take it out of the pockets.
I usually wear jeans...
This looks like exactly what I want. Thanks for the thorough review.

SupCase For Nexus 7 Review/Pics

I recently picked up the SupCase Slim Fit Leather case for the Nexus 7, and this is my review.
Build Quality: The case is pretty well made. It's not the most well constructed leather case, but it's made well enough. The stitching is alright with a few quirks here and there. It's also not genuine leather if you couldn't already tell. It's like a rubbery and synthetic like material wrapped in a leather wrapping. Despite not being genuine, the leather does look and feel nice.
Cutouts: No issues here really. SupCase did a really nice job with this case, it offers near perfect cutouts for all ports and buttons. I had no issues accessing anything.
Design: The Slim Fit Leather Case is a folio-style case, or book-like if you will. You need to slip your Nexus 7 inside and tuck a flap underneath. The flap is held nicely with velcro so it's very secure. The fit and alignment of the Nexus is also good inside the case. I did notice at times that because there is a frame that surrounds the tablets bezel, it would sometimes hinder accessing things at the top, bottom, and sides of the screen. You just need to sort of work around it, but it is definitely something to keep note of. The case also incorporates a stand. You prop it up by taking the front flap and tucking it underneath the holder on the back of the case. This gives you two stand options: a keyboard typing angle, and an upright viewing angle for videos and other media consumption.
Sleep/Wake: The case has embedded magnets that turn the Nexus 7 on/off. Not ON/OFF literally, but it awakes it and puts it to sleep. The magnet also keeps the front flap closed as well to prevent it from flopping around. The magnets are just strong enough to perform the sleep/wake and keep shut. I have also not noticed the front flap turning the Nexus to sleep when folded all the way back.
Overall, I can highly recommend the SupCase Slim Fit Leather case for the Nexus 7. It offers nice style, protection, precise cutouts, and decent functionality. Moreover, it's only $15!
View my high res pics of the case below. I'd also appreciate it if you can thank me if this review helped you out.

Looks like the same as my CaseCrown Bold (I went with black, on sale at amazon.com for $5.21). The material is what they call PU leather, a faux leather.
I purchased this a while back as my first case. I chose the dark maroon/purple one. I like it, but I think the stand is a little weak; it flops over pretty easily. I think I only paid $12ish so it wasn't a bad choice for my first case, but I'm definitely looking into one that doesn't cover the bezel. Good review!
A lot of cases like that for less.

Which color did you pick?
Perfect case for the Nexus 7. I was a bit skeptical at first, I've bought cases for many electronics and they usually end up disappointing. The Nexus fits snugly in the case, like a good set of driving gloves. The case has cutouts for microUSB, microphones, power button, volume rocker, rear speaker, camera, light sensor and headset jack. It adds minor weight to the Nexus. It comes with a magnet on the front cover, which auto wakes and sleeps Nexus. Overall feels like a quality item for the price, recommend to anyone looking for a Nexus case.
I got my in white. Just want to share the pics. It's pretty awesome.
Wow this looks really nice. I Think ill buy this one. Thank you for Review
I hate the design. It covers the edge of the screen and it makes it hard to navigate. And its uncomfortable to hold. Not worth it.
I recently bought a Nexus 7, and then when it became available one of these cases. I normally do not bother to write reviews, but was so pleased by the product and price am glad to do so now. The design is excellent, as is the quality. According to my friend (who knows about these things) it is indeed nicely done leather. It does a very good job of protecting the device, cunningly folds to make a handy stand, and I find all the controls and ports to be completely accessible. Especially considering the price, what's not to love?
It's personal preference I guess, for me I have no problem with navigating or holding the device. Only one con would be the kickstand, you can only stand it in one angle. Other than that this case is perfect for me.

luckyexpress168 - Ultra Thin Slim Pu Case - quick review and pics.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/15088047618.../sch/i.html?_sacat=0&_nkw=150880476182&_rdc=1
I ordered the case on 20th August and it arrived yesterday 31st so not bad from HK to the UK signed for delivery.
The case is very slim, in one of the pics I've included a 5 pence piece for comparison, the case is almost exactly the same thickness as the coin at about 18mm closed.
It looks very smart and the chrome strip for the magnetic closure looks better than I'd expected. The case section is hard plastic like many others and has a soft neoprene style backing to it. The N7 clips in very securely (I've yet to figure out how to get it out again...) and is protected all round. All the cutouts are in the right place and nicely bevelled, the on/off switch and vol controls have their own cutouts which makes finding them easier than my previous case,
In the open stand position the nap of the cloth interior holds the N7 at the angle you want, nice touch. No auto on/off magnet, but that's just a lazy mans gimmick anyway and doesn't bother me as long as the switch is easy to get to. You can see in the second picture the speaker grill and the PU material the 'hinge' strap is made from, because of the way it's made there's a bit of rotational play to the cover when closed but not too much, time will tell if that increases or not.

Is it possible to fold the cover back completely, how does it look?
Yes it is possible, the cover folds back flat and stays flat without any pressure.
even cheaper
Found a cheaper one from the ausies for $13.4 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTRA-SLIM-...ccessories&hash=item46078371f9#ht_6402wt_1194
It comes without the metallic Nexus7 part, I prefer this version.
I'd like to hear the OP thinks based on the photos, is this the same product or a cheaper/inferior replica?

Looks pretty much the same, except without the chrome strip as you say. the magnet is built in to the case so I assume there must be some metal strip in the cover to keep it shut. Auction doesn't give any details though.

hhmm, maybe that's why it's cheaper? or maybe there is a metal insert inside the cover that connects with the magnet.
I just got mine in today and I actually like it a lot. It has a nice soft leather feeling in hand and the plastic back feels quite sturdy. The tablet really clicks into the back solidly, it actually takes some work to remove it from the case. The construction is pretty nice, it has the felt on the inside of the lid and the plastic, the cutouts are nice (especially the separate power button) and the magnet holds it closed firmly.
The downsides are minor, the lid is a little oversized and doesn't lock into place when closed. It can wiggle and twist around some. Other then that it looks nice and feels nice, it compliments my bulkier Portenzo case well
I've found a good use for the chrome N7 strip, I bought an Appldea Maglus stylus and it has a strong magnet in it which holds it onto the metal very securely.

hhmm, maybe that's why it's cheaper? or maybe there is a metal insert inside the cover that connects with the magnet.

Confirmed: There is no magnet in this cheaper version.
Is anyone concerned about that metal strip contacting the screen and scratching it? Looks like a nice case though. Thanks for the review and pics.
very nice review. may consider getting one of these!

No. the magnet in the base is slightly raised so the chrome strip does not come into contact with the screen when closed. Use a screen protector anyway, they are so cheap it's daft not to.

I have this case as well, though I haven't written a review on it. My recommendation: DO NOT BUY.
First off, the biggest miss in this case is no sleep/wake magnet. On top of that, its difficult using the case as a stand for the tablet. Although the cover looks and feels good (almost like leather), $20 is way too expensive for something that is lacking a smart-cover feature, a mechanism to use it as a stand, and fake leather.

I have to disagree, Asus/Google very kindly provided us with an on/off button and I don't mind using it, I don't need a 2 cent magnet to do the job for me. I've also not had any problem using the case as a stand when I've wanted to, as explained above the nap of the cloth interior holds it nicely for me.
$20 is at the top of the cheaper end of the range but it's hardly bank robbery, I've bought a number of cheaper cases and all of them do the job to a greater or lesser extent but all of them look cheap compared to this one.
Each to their own though, ymmv etc. the world would be a dull place if we all thought the same.

Official Samsung TPU Case (Lots of pics!)

I really like these cases.
Here are some pictures (sorry, I took them in low light with the Galaxy S3):
I got the black and white cases, I personally like the white one more, but the black is also nice.

The case is very sturdy and very nice to the touch. It's kind of slippery, but it feels fine in the hand.
It doesn't hinder the Spen. I've had other cases for this note, and the original, and the Spen on some cases were impossible to take out
Buttons are easily accessible and they're raised! FINALLY! They're easy and clicky! Also, it has a charm loop or a lanyard loop.
Here are some pics of the black one
The cases are easy to apply and the phone basically snaps on, it's not a tight tight fit, but it's not going to come out on its own. It's snug in there, but you don't feel bad having to press really hard or anything like that to get the case off. It basically just comes out with ease.
These cases are going to be my daily drivers for a while, until something better comes along. I usually like Samsung cases. I love the S3 cases and now the Note 2 cases. The only thing I wish it had was the silicon flap to cover the USB or the headphone jack (or both!) to not let any dust in.
Hit thanks if this review has helped you or you just like the pics Or if you'd like me to continue reviewing cases I buy .
Thanks for reading!

Update: I have been getting a lot of PMs about where I got the case. I finally ordered it from here: CLICK, 15 euros.
On another thread (this thread) I had found some ebay links, and then I found some stores
All you need to do is search for the model number of the one you're looking for:
Black case: EFC-1J9BBEG
White case: EFC-1J9BWE
Pink case: I don't remember sorry!
Hope I've helped!
UPDATE: Today is my birthday, and last night I went out with some friends and I used this case. Oh my... The dark photos were ... let's just say that they could be used for Paranormal Activity 10! The white case gives off a reflection! Check this out. I don't recommend the white case if you're going to take night time pictures with flash. Without flash the pictures were fine, but the white edges of the case reflect and kind of destroyed the pictures. The reflection kind of threw off the rest of the picture (exposure, white balance, not to mention the spirit appearing at the bottom of my picture)!
Thanks for posting so many pics. I just ordered one of the white ones today and feel more secure in my decision after seeing your post. I'm currently using one of the generic "folio" type cases off of Amazon and was looking for something that was less awkward to use while I wait for Otterbox to release the Commuter/Defender cases.
It's disappointing to hear the cases are a little slippery. I was hoping for quite a bit of grip improvement.

The back plate is a slippery (and on the black, it's a fingerprint magnet, as you can see!) but the sides are rubber, and it won't slide out of your hand if you're holding the sides. But the back itself is slippery. It's plastic... Of course it is! It's SAMSUNG!

I'm glad to have helped! I'm really content with the cases. You can tell that they've been made specifically for this phone. All the details are there for the ports and buttons. It is actually slimmer than my other TPU cases.
I'm not a fan of folio cases because I don't want to cover the LED Notification light, or when it's open cover the camera! They're probably two of the most important features about this phone for me.
get the bodyglove :good:
Looks like a winner so far.. still waiting for one to arrive. For now using the body glove case

+1 for this case, got mine in the mail today..
thanks! just ordered the white one based on the pictures (especially since my white tpu case from asia is taking forever to get here).
hope this case isn't too thick. i need a tpu case for accidental drops, but with minimal added thickness.

I ordered mine on the 25th and shipped out on the 27th. I'm in SoCal USA and it shipped from Dallas, TX.
Received and agree on all points. Fit is superb. Yeah, it's a little slippery on that glossy back piece but you're going to be gripping the rubbery sides so I wouldn't worry too much about it. Those raised plastic button covers on the sides for the volume and power are indeed nice and very assuring to the touch. It's not as thick as I thought it would be from seeing the pics.
Only con is it does add more weight than I would prefer but I feel more secure with the phone inside so I can deal with it.
My new favorite case over the Nilkin that exposed the top and bottom of the phone. :victory:
mine shipped today. I usually dont use cases, but i gotta say i loved the way the samsung cases looked on the GS3, looking so thin, i barely even noticed people had cases on them when i saw people pull them out. gotta love the samsung 50% off coupon too, ordered the tectiles and charging dock and battery. ( rE155266e coupon code)
I've received some PMs about where I got my cases from. It's a company here in Madrid. Their website is www.Octilus.com, they had the cheapest price I could find and their shipping was only 1€. I'm enjoying the cases highly recommended.

I was concerned about adding bulk to this sexy device, but I can safely say its a non-issue with this..
I got my black case yesterday and I'm very pleased with fit and finish. I don't think it's possible for a case to add less bulk and provide similar protection. The hard back does show finger prints and finger oil smears very clearly but no big deal and overall looks better than the T-mobile logo IMHO. Soft sides provide good grip and the charcoal gray color looks very good with the front bezels of titanium model. It didn't seem like a tight fit going on but doesn't seem loose in use. I imagine a little looseness is a good thing when it comes to shock adsorption and I believe the rubber sides will grip well enough to prevent the phone from separating during most falls. The edge surrounding the screen is raised enough to keep it from touching a flat surface when face down but just barely. I expect the screen could make contact if the phone is dropped on an irregular surface. I have a Spigen SGP Ultra Clear screen protector for that situation and highly recommend it as well. I can't even tell it's there from looks or function. Invisible to the eye and S-pen with cut outs for camera, proximity and light sensors as well as the speaker and home button. Feels like the native glass to finger and pen might actually feel better with a very very slight and benefitial increase in drag. So slight it may be imaginary.

Got my white one today. Looks amazing. Now come on Verizon, send me my GN2!!! Getting the case is just a teaser!
Ordered the black for myself and white for the wife. Still waiting on them to get here, we usually only use Speck cases but since Speck has not came out with one yet These will have to do. Plus we got each of them for 50% off for registering our phones on the Samsung site.

[Review] Ringke FUSION Case

Introduction
I know the search for cases for this phone has been a little annoying and, in some cases, (hah!) underwhelming. I decided to pull the trigger on a case from a brand I've never bought before. I wanted a low profile case that provided, at least, decent protection. After some research, I purchased the Ringke FUSION Case over at Amazon for $12.99. My goal here is to provide people with some quick and concise information so they can make an informed decision when looking to buy a case for the Nexus 5X. So lets jump right in and see how this baby holds up to my expectations.
Disclaimer: I bought this case with my own money. I haven't been paid to endorse this product in any way. I'm also not a professional photographer, so the pictures I took with the M9's underwhelming camera is about the best my trembling, hungover hands could manage.
Details
It comes in two colors, "Smoke" (Grey) and "Crystal View" (Clear) -- Both are priced at $12.99
The case is made of Silicone TPU and the Plastic (maybe polycarbonate?).
No matter which color you choose, both come with an "HD" screen protector.
Initial Impressions
The case comes packaged quite nicely, sealed in a bubble-wrap insulated envelope. Upon opening the package we're greeted with Ringke's "ECO Package" which is supposedly saving the polar bears or something. It touts that they have sold over 10 million products, use non-toxic materials, and also instructs me to "feel good adout myself".

It's also a little funny because within this ECO package is another plastic Ziploc bag that houses the actual case.
Within this resealable bag you'll find the actual case. It has a protective film plastered on both sides of the clear plastic that shows off the rear of your beautiful new phone. This must be removed before installation. (Forgive me, I did not take pictures of this). The screen protector is also placed perfectly inside the case. My immediate impressions were that this case felt pretty decent for the price. It's light, the TPU sides felt grippy and the plastic (after having removed the protective films) felt a bit grippy and not brittle at all. This bolstered my initial confidence in the case that if I were to drop the phone accidentally on a hard surface that it'd shrug it off without a problem.
Installation and Fitting
The Screen Protector that comes with this case is a thin flexible film. It's plastic, not tempered glass and isn't the same material you'd experience with, say, a Skinomi TechSkin screen protector either. The screen protector comes with films attached to both sides. Both films are labeled with a description as well as a number to let you know which one you're suppose to remove first.
After washing my hands, I removed the adhesive film and carefully placed it on my phone. I placed the screen protector on the bottom and slowly applied it from the bottom up, using a credit card to smoothly apply the protector to mitigate any air bubbles. Application was pretty easy and just took about 3 seconds of patience. The protector fits almost perfectly. I applied it about a millimeter or two off center to the left, so there's a bit of a gap between the protector and the case now but it's hardly noticeable. As you can see from the picture above, the protective film that gets removed from the protector is colored blue, which I promptly removed, crumpled up and threw in the garbage before taking a picture. Because I'm an idiot.
The screen protector DOES have a cut out for the proximity sensor (are you listening Spigen?).
The case itself is a pretty easy installation. I slid the top portion of the phone in first, so that the buttons wouldn't get pressed during installation. With a satisfying hugging/click sound I then pressed the bottom end of the phone into the case. The case fits snuggly and does not allow the phone to move around at all. That being said, removal of the case is quite easy and can be done in seconds. This, however, I can't see happening by accident in your pocket or any other situation. This is exactly how I like my phone cases. Easy to install and remove without it just falling off from tumbling around in my shorts or something.
How the case fits the phone is a huge plus in my book. There is a TPU lip that goes around the entire face of the phone that provides some extra scratch protection if I were to place the phone face down.
On the back you can see the clear plastic allows the nice Nexus logo to shine through. There's a proper cutout of the Fingerprint sensor, Camera, Laser Auto-focus and Flash LED.
The plastic lays flush with the camera lense / glass, providing decent protection from a fall if the phone were to land on it's back. This case basically lets the phone lay flat on a desk or anything else due to little bumps at all four corners of the case. This is nice so that the phone no longer rests right on it's fragile camera when placed face up on a flat surface.
Features & Other thoughts
This case seems to be as well thought out as it is constructed. There is a properly sized cutout for the USB-C port as well as the headphone jack. The headphone jack, however, has a TPU flap covering it to prevent dust from getting in. This is a bit annoying sometimes to remove, but I like that they included it for the reason of cleanliness. There's also a cutout for the bottom microphone.
Moving to the right side of the case, we can see that there are TPU buttons covering the Volume Rocker and Power button. Normally I hate these things because they're hard to find and usually dull the tactile feedback from the buttons. But the way these are implemented are probably the nicest I've ever felt. They're raised from the side of the case, so they're easy to find and feel quite nice when pressed giving a satisfying click sound that you'd get from the naked phone itself. Well done, Ringke!
There's also a cutout at the top for the top microphone as well.
The case feels nice to hold and doesn't add much bulk at all. The TPU sides are decently grippy but the gloss finish on them makes it slippery at times. My only complaint with the case is that the clear backing is a fingerprint magnet. If you have greasy hands the back will look smudgy and at times can be quite slippery. Not a big deal but if it catches the light a certain way it looks pretty bad.
As for the screen protector, I'm not exactly thrilled with it. I actually ordered a different screen protector before I bought this case, but it hasn't shipped yet so I just threw this one on for now. I'm fairly sure the screen protector isn't oleophobic, so finger prints and smudging happens pretty often. Which is a shame because it feels pretty nice to interact with.
Overall
Overall, I really like this case. It offers adequate protection from minor falls and scratches for the price without adding nearly any bulk. It also allows the phone to lay flat on flat surfaces without resting on the camera, which is a major plus. The case is easy to install and remove and fits nicely. It's a well-thought-out case with no glaring oversights or problems. The screen protector, however, is a bit lackluster. But hey, it was a free and it's a stand in for my Tempered Glass one arriving in the mail next week. Those looking for a low-profile, comfortable and protective case for there brand new N5X, look no further.
I second this. Using it right now

I myself have never used a case before but will try for my 5X, you saved me quite a bit of research. Thanks a lot mate!
I had this case for the note 4 and it had very rough edges, this case does not! Very nice case for the price. Nice review too.
I bought this in clear. It's nice, but I just can't stand the feel of a case on this phone (not to be confused with saying I don't like the feel of the case, because the case feels great). I might go caseless for the first time in years.

I ran my old N5 naked for a long time while in school and while it was nice it was ultimately a bad call because the wear definitely accumulated over time.
Got this case based on your review and I'm really happy with it. It's a very simple case that appears to be well-made and doesn't add a lot of bulk. The buttons have a great feel and for about $10 you can't go wrong.
Very nice review.
I used the ringke fusion case for my n4 and loved it. Ordered it for my n5x and was a little disappointed that it's an all tpu case. I've personally never cared for tpu cases. The case is too smooth for my taste and I think makes it harder to hold on too.
The n4 version was nicer because the outside wasn't a smooth tpu and a solid and more case like plastic while retaining the clear back. It also has small edges where the plastic parts met on the back which help when gripping and holding the phone.
The n5 is almost smooth all around. Gonna give it another week or so but will probably be looking for something else or going with now case.
It's still a decent case, but just wanted to make sure people realize the fusion line cases has changed from the older phones.

It's definitely not an all TPU case. The back is a hard plastic and the sides are a softer TPU material.
I like the case for everyday use, but am still looking for something with a little more protection for work.

Ringke Fusions are my favorite cases on the market right now. I've had 7 of them for various devices. All fit perfectly and no discoloration or scuffs. Great cases
Received this one yesterday in smoke color. First time using a case since my OG droid incredible. I didn't want to use a case but after my nexus 5 experience (RIP N5 screen x2) it was the smart play. Exactly what I was looking for, snug fit with some rubbery protection for the edges and not too much added bulk. I approve of this case.
I saw a review on Amazon (and a comment following it) saying that this case scratch the part where the camera is:

It does not, the case has little feet on the corners that keep the camera from touching the table.
Here is a close up confirming the camera doesn't touch.
Also here is a couple real quick backings I made out of the included template.

I think what they mean is the clear plastic on the back, the slot that has been cut out for the camera and flash has rough edges rubbing against the phone, which apparently damages the paint? I haven't had this issue.
